Are you talking about cgminer on Win7 here? creating a .bat file is a long process? https://ozcoin.net/content/win7-cgminer-setup-guide

I found it simple to run and manage.

QG

Thanks guys! Also, i was wondering. Sometimes multiple addresses are used from a wallet to send BTC, do i just choose one to sign the message if that happens?
(and a note, you only need to use one of the from addresses.)

Also the send address may be a change address, so not accessible through the QT GUI.
Im pretty sure i understand what you mean. A "change address" has fractions of bitcoins that just hang there?

Would putting my address in the signed message put my address permanently in the block chain? By signing, where does the message go exactly?

Ill send once i know how to sign and be sure my identity and details are only seen by the parties involved with the transaction.

EDIT: Also, with usps standards, do i have to put my full name in the address format above my mailing address?

So im trying to build the cgminer-3.1.0-windows and i have been following the directions in the windows-build.txt.
I have done everything up until the step * Build cgminer.exe *.

When i try to run autoreconf -fvi in the MINGW32 prompt it gives me the error autoreconf-2.68: 'configure.ac' or 'configure.in' is required.
Yes i did change the working directory to my cgminer-3.1.0-windows folder.

Im positive that i have done every step correctly.. I will attempt to redo it all just to be sure its not me, but does anyone else know whats going on with this error that prevents me from building this thing already? haha

Please and thank you!
251  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: McAfee and CGminer on: May 05, 2013, 10:19:31 PM
I can turn off the active scanner in mcafee to extract the files, but there is no way to add an exception to the real time scanner or whenever i scan my pc.
 :' (

Kinda weird. When i turned off the active scanner and extracted to the desktop and turned the active scanner back on it would quarantine it when i would go into the folder. Then i turned the scanner off, extracted to c:, then went into the folder there was no problem.

I guess im good. For now..

Now to figure out how to run this thing for LTC.

252  Other / Beginners & Help / McAfee and CGminer on: May 05, 2013, 06:57:47 PM
Whenever i attempt to extract the cgminer-3.1.0-windows folder from the .zip, McAfee winds up deleting half of the files and quarantining the cgminer.exe.

Its detected as Artemis!52B6B1DF3E96, which is pretty much how McAfee deals with any .exe that it doesnt recognize.. The McAfee instructions to submit it for investigation turned out to be fruitless and i dont know how to get around this.. Whenever i try to restore the .exe it just gets quarantined again, and even if it worked, half of the resources are deleted..

Has anyone else dealt with this and know anything that can help? Please and thank you.

I downloaded the cgminer from the link found on this thread.

254  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins on paper?? on: May 05, 2013, 07:01:47 AM
Just remember when you keep your BTC on a paper wallet you're trusting the website you used.
Are there more secure ways of making your own address so that nobody could ever have known the private key?
255  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is mining still profitable? on: May 05, 2013, 06:54:15 AM
I would mine Litecoins, except that every miner out there was written with trojan code (not the malicious kind, just to connect to everyone apparently) and the only way to get past it is to uninstall my virus protection..

What antivirus are you using? Microsoft Security Essentials doesn't have any problem with LTC miners...
McAfee has a problem with all of them sadly. Apparently they were written with the kind of code used with trojans so it gets a generic trojan flag. There are options to appeal it with mcafee but i dont think anything ever comes of it.

BFL Products Shipping Now
May 1, 2013

Dear **********,

Shipping of our BitForce SC ASIC miners has begun!

You may have seen news reports of our ASIC miners in the wild and some of you may have already taken delivery.  It's all true.  We're finally shipping.  You will receive your order as we work through the shipping queue .

If you didn't know, you can check your order status on our website. Log in by clicking here. Use the same email and password you set up your account with.

If you don't have your password, use the Lost Password function to create a new one.

So what took so long?

This third generation of our SHA256 engine was a complex multi-year investment in bringing the latest semiconductor technology to bitcoin mining.

Developing a fully custom 65nm ASIC processor is not a casual undertaking. In fact, the new products have improved mining speed by a factor of 72. This much advancement doesn't come easy and it's fair to say that getting here has been eventful.

The key issue has been the engineering related to accommodating larger power draws than expected. A good example is the Jalapeno product. It was originally designed to be powered by USB but now consumes the power of a small light bulb (30w).

Consequently the power regulator, enclosure, airflow and PCB needed upgrading to suit. Although we are *very* aware of the undesirable dynamics of any delay, we were nonetheless obligated to make these updates in order to deliver a reliable product at the expected performance.  The same adjustments have been made with all products in the lineup.  You can see the adjusted product cases in our currently posted product lineup.  (The Mini Rig case will be double shipped to satisfy their orders which is why we've run out Mini Rig enclosure stock).

Final confirmation is required

Please be advised that due to the adjustments described above, we need your confirmation prior to release of your order into the final build queue and on to final delivery.  It may also be a good time to review your purchase altogether relative to the bitcoin market as this is the last opportunity to do so.  If your order is not confirmed, it will be canceled and your money will be refunded.

Thank you for your support and we wish you great satisfaction with your product!
