It would be extremely difficult to generate an 11 character case specific address with vanitygen, though not impossible.

edit: I tried with a bitcoin address, but not sure if it is working correctly for 2 GPUs

oclvanitygen.exe -d 0:0 -d 0:1 1BurnAddress

I do not know the whole story with igotspots

Why are you even posting in this topic then? You saw an opportunity to brown-nose BCX and dove right in.

I saw people misusing words and phrases for the benefit of making their argument seem more valid. This is a pet peeve of mine.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: iGotSpots Scam Dev on: October 08, 2015, 05:44:08 PM
BCX is completely right about this actually. It is open source software, you can release as many versions as you want. No one is forced to mine it.

If I decide to release 1000 different flavors of an open source calculator I find on Github, would you call that a scam too?
Not at all the same thing. No one will invest or lose monetarily from your calculator.
The opposite of a scam would be honesty and integrity, and you can't say Spots ran his coins with either.
What about the lies about all of his plans to promote his coins and get merchants to accept them? He knew this was never going to happen, but he propagated these lies to encourage people to invest in his coins.

I do not know the whole story with igotspots, I would need to look more into the history to decide whether or not it was a scam . I was agreeing with what BCX posted.

Let us summarize using Merriam-Websters definition of a scam.

scam
      noun \ˈskam\
: a dishonest way to make money by deceiving people

Therefore, if no money was made in a dishonest way, just releasing 1000 different coins and not supporting them is not a scam.

Releasing 1000 coins anonymously and not supporting them is the definition of a scam you simple-minded fuck.

The implication is that he'll promise to support them and then not do so. Hence the scam.

Implications and promises are two completely different things. I do not think you have a good grasp on the English language to be throwing around words like this.

FYI, launching a 1000 coins and not supporting them IS NOT SCAMMING!

I am assuming this post was made to remove any doubt whatsoever that you're just a stupid cunt, smashing your thick head on the keyboard.

In order for a scam to take place, a promise, payment and non fulfillment of a promise or delivery needs to occur.

How is launching a coin and not supporting it equal a scam?

Just wow  Roll Eyes

He specified he would launch them anonymously. What exactly do you think that means? The implication is that he'll promise to support them and then not do so. Hence the scam.

I think it means that he would launch them from anonymous accounts not related to his main account. What else could that mean? It is pretty self explanatory.
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [DARKCYPHER] [DCYP] [FULL POS] [STEALTH ADDRESS] on: October 08, 2015, 01:28:35 PM
I was asked to provide an ICO Escrow address that is used to collect the funds from those who want to invest in this coin. Once everyone received their ICO Coins i will release the Bitcoins to the issuer.

The escrow address is:
Code:
1C2Svqb3zP3X4fBZHx9BJ4totBNMzku9j1
Don't send to a quoted escrow address. ALWAYS only check out my post directly and send to that address!

Only send Bitcoins from an address you can sign a private message for or at least where you are able to get the private key for that address! This is important since you can't proof that you sent bitcoins when you, for example, sent the bitcoins directly from an Exchange. In that case better send them first to your wallet and then from there to the escrow address.

For information about what you need to sign a message you can check out this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345

Before payment i would suggest you take a look at http://www.cointape.com/ to check out if the network gets spammed again. Below the graph there is shown what amount of fee is needed to get instant confirmation. Checking that page could prevent that transactions are stuck for hours or days because they dont get a confirmation.

Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
20151008 This is the escrow address for the ICO of DarkCypher Coins and the escrow address is 1C2Svqb3zP3X4fBZHx9BJ4totBNMzku9j1
-----BEGIN SIGNATURE-----
1K2UFGCKyNQNx4h2m5ZRCaw9BWHTBcCZAA
G7xywaO7N3Mq8Vv/eSTqtPbcoWtT+ZIMmi06oqEmbqjsv4qPcua9TbCFNRPNhC2kx2qrvxUOgx6UNNLQVQ+B09I=
-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Message signed with an old address of mine, that i posted may 2013 on bitcointalk. See my Servicethread: [ANN] SebastianJu - Free Legendary Escrow Service - Escrowed over 8150 BTC.

You can check a signed message very easy. The fastest way is to visit http://wallet-2sx53n.sakurity.com/#verify.

Good luck everyone with this ICO! Smiley

You may want to take a look at this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1202228.0 posted by ocminer about how the dev of this coin is deleting all posts that question this coin.

251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [WOP] WorldPay - Connect your wallet to the world! ICO and PoW. on: October 07, 2015, 08:43:07 PM
So you decided to ignore my post  Huh  What does that say about you  Huh

You are probably up in arms you didn't create moderated thread...  Grin Sad Grin

We didn't ignore your post but it's rather difficult to answer something like that. Do you have any idea what's like to start a project like this?
This simply do not work without funding, even if the idea is good and you have a developer willing to work in his passion project for free (which is rare), he can't do everything alone, you need o get different people for different tasks. A designer can't code and a coder can't design, at least most of them Smiley.

And about community funding when you have everything smoothly rolling and out (and that's a big when) it's usually small and not enough for what you need to get a project like this of the ground.
In our case, we have everything semi-done code wise but there's a lot of design to do and that's where the biggest percentage of ICO funds is going to, 60%+ by my last estimation. And who wants to give money to a developer without receiving anything back? Maybe you do but I'm not a lot of investors doing it.

Thank you for sharing your opinion though,  don't hesitate in doing so in the future, it's taken in consideration and it's one of the ways for us to grow.

You killed your project by being greedy end of story. Nothing you have provided or hinted was to come is worth anything near the 30 BTC you are trying to raise. You will disappear as soon as the ICO funds have cleared, and you will be back with another shit ICO scam.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [WOP] WorldPay - Connect your wallet to the world! --Just Released-- on: October 07, 2015, 05:10:02 PM
interested to see what comes of this.

2nd pool up for you: /]http://www.[Suspicious link removed]/

Thank you! We added your pool to the OP but are having some problems posting it.

Bitcointalk removes the link marking it as "suspicious".

with a new account it's not going to let you post .tk domains. just put it in as superninjapool .tk without a hyperlink I guess  Huh

Theymos made some changes recently to what new accounts are and are not allowed to post, and .tk domains are one of those.

OP updated. Thank you for making a pool for our coin!

Are you not even going to respond to the fact that this is 80% premined? I will make it bigger so you don't miss it this time.

80% premined wtf?
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [WOP] WorldPay - Connect wallet to the world! --Just Released-- on: October 07, 2015, 04:51:37 PM
Block reward is just 1 Coin?

We posted a note to miners in the OP.

"Note to miners: Rewards are exponential, i.e. rewards will be low in the first weeks and get exponentially bigger as the coin grows and gathers more users."

Basically our reward is a function of e^(nHeight * 0.0000543776), giving us 2 Million coins after two months of mining.

Here is the math: https://i.imgur.com/thpaIb7.png.

So wait, it will take two months to mine 2,000,000 coins, but you premined 8,000,000 for the ICO? What is point of mining this? May as well just wait till ICO is dumped to 1 satoshi and buy some.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are there so many altcoins? on: October 07, 2015, 04:10:30 PM
Because of coin creation services, and a few select people releasing multiple ones each week. They make a few dollars more than it cost them to buy the creation and that is a lot of money in whatever ass backwards country they come from. No offense intended to ass backwards countries.

waiting for the pump! The coin is cheap has a low supply for me it's something that could explode, I don't say 100 but a 50sat is possible

256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No One Cares About You on: October 07, 2015, 03:31:43 PM
3 years ago, if I asked a random person on the street if they had heard of bitcoin, chances are they would say no. Now most have heard of bitcoin, but more than likely it has been something negative. It will be hard to get past that if we ever do.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin creation on: October 07, 2015, 03:15:06 PM
Still no one can help me ? Bitcoin and other altcoins are "normally" open-source, so why no one want to explian me the process to create one ? Is this knowledge reserved to an elite ?

Gather the money from ICO/IPO to hire a consultant and make cool altcoin  Cool

Making an altcoin to scam people is not my aim. There's too much already existing altcoins to create a new one. I just wan to LEARN how people do to create one.

There is not too much to "learn" from replacing a few lines of code, and replacing some pictures. You would learn 100x more by watching an intro to C++ programming on youtube.

Check the node..  Walletbuilders coin as expected Smiley

95.211.57.108

https://github.com/P666Coin/P666/blob/master/src/net.cpp#L1176

If you Google this you'll also get most of the other coins from him...  Retrocoin83 etc..

Nevertheless happy mining Wink

That is pretty sad if you follow the history of some of these coins. They post an ICO just to get enough funds together to hire a wallet building service.

smh

Do not expect much from a "dev" that has to hire someone to clone a coin for them.

It would not surprise me one bit if the allegations were true.

They are not. The article states no proof of anything because there is none.

This sounds all too familiar.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: October 05, 2015, 02:29:54 AM
CLAM is a great altcoin, there's no reason it can't be used for other applications outside of gambling
What's the advantage of CLAM over other existing altcoins? What are the unique features?
That you can use them to play or invest in Just Dice Smiley
i can do this with btc already, much more popular
No, actually, you cannot Smiley
Real talk though, what is the point of using Clams outside of Justdice?
(Against my better judgement) I decided to hold onto my 9.6(?) clams from my 2 claims and trade with them rather than cash out. I've almost doubled my clams, but I've still lost money, as the price has plummeted from .013 per to .005 per. Is there any reason for me to continue to hold?
You can speculate that some day it might be used for something other than casino chips at Just-Dice. Or maybe not. Hard to say.
Is there any evidence that Clams could one day potentially fill a niche outside of dice money? I've seen a lot of talk, but that's all there has been since the launch... talk. I can't see anyone taking an altcoin that is literally given away too seriously.

I personally do not believe that gambling is such a horrible frontier market.
In this case it is gambling + staking/mining.
I would expect that the CLAM on JD alone places us as the highest percentage actively staked network; proving that our PoWS incentives work.

As has oft been bandied about in this community, network systems benefit and gain utility from network effect.
We have a handful of solid services.  The emphasis in the previous sentence is important.
Better a handful of solid services than hundreds worth little.

The vast majority (not all) of alternative "cryptos" have little behind the curtain.
We have been plodding along for over a year with significant improvements in the codebase.
We intend to continue doing so.

I am personally the most biased person in the room - so you will, of course, have to look elsewhere for market advice.

I might be a little closed minded these days, but I do not see the need for crypto currency outside the crypto market....at least not for now. Maybe someday when the vast majority of people start using cryptos. For example, I do not need to use BTC, or CLAMS for that matter to pay my light bill, buy gas, buy a taco...I can use cash for that, or my cards, or if I want to get crazy..Apple pay.

I think cryptos fill the niche they need to fill: the crypto niche.

edit: I was kind of in a bad mood when I wrote this a couple hours ago. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the day that cryptos become a widely used currency that you can use anywhere.
