241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | Proof of Stake | 750% Annual | Fork Launch on: July 06, 2014, 03:56:10 PM
OK IT FINALLY SYNCED!

WHAT DO I DO NOW TO PREPARE FOR HYP?
Divide your coins in block of 1600 HYP to optimise reward. If you have a lot of HYP, this means a lot of addresses, I know.

So i create different addresses, then send 1'600 coins to each address in the same wallet?
Yes. presstab, do you confirm?

Confirmed except for you can keep them at one address.

Thanks for that - I was afraid I'd have to send all my coins back-forth between wallets to get them to different addresses.
Can you confirm if there's an optimal number of coins, per wallet? Or doesn't it matter?

Not that I am aware
You are basically trying to make sure any individual block POS reward does not go over the maximum - you can only get one reward at a time hence 1600
any other mature blocks will add to your weight but are rewarded individually as they solve for POS in turn

Think its 1600 PER BLOCK you can have them in one address

Yeah I just closed the wallet and reopened it each time it got stuck (about 6-7 times)
Thanks god for small blockchains if this had been a year old coin I'd have quit Cheesy

Soo I now have a nice wallet full of fresh 1600TRK blocks - Just to confirm I can kill the client copy the wallet.dat to another location and await the release of your new toy?

Once new toy is delivered copy the wallet.dat into appropriate folder and enjoy the HYPE

After the fork ~8:30 pm TRK and HYPE become two separate entities in two different wallets

Yeah I'm GMT+1 so about 2-3 hours

MY wallet doesn't seem to be staking either.  I haven't had it open 24/7 but I have high coin weight and have kept it open for several hours at a time. Will try troulbe shooting it soon.

Same here. My coin weight is 171447 and ive had my computer on for 2 days.

what's the exact date of each block you have ready for stake?

Non staking blocks. There is also a tiddler of 0.998 which I moved to another address.

The first one is obviously the devils block 6/6 @18:00
I just noticed this.

It seems that you blocks are old enough, but I wonder if this is not the same thing I experience with GrowthCoin. min/max age is 15/45 days. so I guess you should get your stake anytime soon (arround midway between min and max age)  so likely today you should get your stake.

With growthcoin, the stakes always seems to come in at around 9 days of age (witch is middle point between min and max age).

For the record, I got my stakes already, but my blocks were from May, I know Tranz's were too. So likely, those that already had their stakes, were from May too!

You could also be out of luck (but I doubt it this is what we are seeing)

Lastly, and this goes for all. Make sure you run version 2.1.  It has a patch for staking larger blocks.

Let us (me) know if you get your stake today or tomorrow

Well still no luck yet. guess we will have to wait and see.
I'm used to big HBN blocks staking almost immediately. Been doing 100s of little ones recently though - feel a block combining session coming on

My TRK Wallet wont sync..............

It's gaining "Blocks Remaining" instead of actually downloading them...
its a bad wallet .. just keep closing and reopening it .. it'll get there in  the end

Honestly you had me at we are "experienced holders" in the OP Cheesy you get an investment for the chuckle on a crappy day.

Can't see anything wrong, or is there?
I renamed the exe to get windows firewall to go back through the unblock dialogue again
re-downloaded the blockchain with the 2.1 version
copied the lot onto a win7 laptop - no joy
all test machines have one or more active qts either receiving coin or stake or both for various coins
vista win7 and 8.1

*Edit* also no tried exporting the private key into a new wallet and doing a rescan ... same situation
and looking at my address in the explorer there seems to be 0.000391 Cap unexplained in the balance Huh

Well you have done everything that I would have tried.  You can try using the following start up switches. This will cause the debug.log to grow quickly but could pinpoint the issue.  -debug -printcreation -printcoinstake -printcoinage

Otherwise at this point I would need to run specific debug statements using your wallet or the key.  But just looking at my wallet, my friends wallet and the block explorer, all staking is working as far as I can tell. So I can't figure out what would be preventing your coins from staking.
Right then - glad it's a problem that needs solving rather than obvious user error

Doing as suggested now. plenty new data in the debug
Only thing that jumps out at me is this

Attach a PM?

Happy to send you secure wallet data if it come to that.

251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LOOOK for profit!] [TEK] TEKcoin PoS/Pow 40% Stake Interest every 30 days! on: July 05, 2014, 04:52:13 PM
This is why it is important to:
- increase TEK recognition - new marketplace (https://www.allcoin.com/vote/#TEK others?), new announcements, twitter and facebook presence
- have a trading plan favouring regular small sales (25% of stake every month)

25% only if you dont insta dump them.
Right, this is the part I don't know how to handle still. What is a  reasonable price to place sell order at? Just below lower sell, other? How many sell orders, one big one, several small ones, etc...
That's probably because there is no right answer to that. It depends on your agenda, needs and level of patience.
I normally ... meh that would be telling  Cheesy

mine has been saying staking 50% chance within 1 hour for over 12 hours now.

I am on 2.1 do i need to redownload the blockchain to be on the right fork.

My apologize if i missed something.
As I understand
If you are on 2.1 and your block count agrees with http://cap.cryptocoinexplorer.com/
it's just a matter of waiting for the post fork dust to settle.
We seem to be steadily getting closer to 200% annual POS from 170ish yesterday.

Correct. I assume you got your stakes going good then FlungSpun..
Actually, no!
but I achieving enlightenment via patient application of zazen - calm body and mind

I'll post when a block stakes or my calm cracks Cheesy

If you have that must weight, it should stake right away.  Only the wrong version(2.0(double check getinfo)) or a locked wallet would cause the coins not to stake.  All of my 10k blocks, downloaded early May, staked right away. I even just got a block on my 7 coin set.

Keep an eye on the debug.log, it might have some clues if something is amiss.

Can't see anything wrong, or is there?

^ yeah after the manic bubble UP and the usual worries & FUD on the return slope I think somewhere between here and 20k should be about normal
I was surprised to see HBN fall through 10k sats but then the recent recovery (post CAP fork) as interest swings and people see cheap coin on the books.

Also another thought on update.

Would it be possible? - not sure about sensible and open to abuse -

To allow a text field allowing free text to be added to the blockchain when you POS a block.

I'm thinking in terms of the future charity activities and community info to be immortalised such as
"The red cross adopts HBN today" and
"$x donated by HBN users to xxx"
Major funding activities and disaster funds could be highlighted in the client as well a s a future "This day in Hobo History" field sourced and serviced by this free text function...

Also giving particular addresses functionality as in a certified charity address/wallet could should be able to do things a standard wallet/address can't

I love seeing weight in coin control. This is my first POS coin and all others after haven't had that ability.

I would like to see all of the stats that show up when you hover over the green icon always be shown on the front stats area. Plenty of room

What do you mean "font stats area"? Do you mean when you click the green icon?

Think he means the Overview tab. That would be nice, to see time since last block - last block number and staking weight / projected time etc at a glance.
Cosmetic but effective unless it adversely impacts cpu load or something.

bearing in mind the message ou put on the CAP thread yesterday when the CAP checkpointing server went on the fritz.
Is there a way of trafficlighting the network status on the client and pushing messages out directly to wallets?

such as "please watch your sends and receives" OR "No cryptsy deposits" and possibly a link to a relevant forum post  or twitter

People will tend to have the wallet open 24/7 but not be reading here or http://www.hobonickels.info/

Might have an issue over here.
One wallet with 4 blocks of 10k doesn't want to stake.

All day with no stake - 10+ hours. I know I'm unlucky sometimes but ..
Also note my weight is bigger than the network. I've seen this on HBN once or twice with big blocks staking

All four blocks should be over the 1k limit for stake by a fair margin as I was planning on moving funds but didn't this month.

When the earlier problems hit I switched machines and re-downloaded the chain, swapped out wallet on that and still no dice.....
but machines both agree with current block on http://cap.cryptocoinexplorer.com/

The network is just jammed full of blocks right now I would expect. I have known for a while that most clients network stake weight calculations aren't accurate, I have a high stake weight as well without any stakes yet. They will come I am sure, but at this point I think that luck is a major factor.

The good news is that PoS blocks are overwhelming the PoW blocks on the chain right now.  There is a big queue but it is being served quickly.

Well if it's just a case of waiting then fine.
I know the HBN client can be a little pessimistic on your 50% times so I was thinking it would be over in a flash.
coins won't be going anywhere so it only a case of loss of compound interest (the most powerful force in the universe!)

Please make sure you are using 2.1 Version 2.0 had an issue with large stakes.

Yes I'm on 2.1 now but I was on v2 until about 5-10 mins after the fork.

I left this all night so now its been 24 hours without stake - still get a 6 minute 50% :/
