241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: January 07, 2022, 09:27:46 AM
Doubt that this will happen.

Most physical casinos are bound by really strict regulations that will likely not allow them to accept anonymous payment methods for AML purposes unless they are situated in a safe haven country.

There is much more value for mainstream online casinos/sportsbooks like Bet365 to accepting BTC though.

Perhaps it is more possible with the use of third party payment service providers. I guess a gambler in a brick and mortar casino could already swipe his Visa or Mastercard Bitcoin or crypto debit card. So it is also very possible that Bitcoin bets will be accepted in the near future but could also be processed in fiat first. So one could place bets in Bitcoin but the amounts to be registered in the casino books are in fiat value. The payout could also be made in Bitcoin.

That makes absolutely no sense.

If you are paying by a bitcoin visa/mastercard then gaming with these funds will already be in fiat and a middleman is simply handling the conversion process for you.

That has zero novelty when it comes to innovation because it can already be done everywhere.

The real innovation will be brick and mortar providers moving online and partnering with online casinos.
242  Economy / Gambling / Re: 💙Allstarsbet101.com 💙 - More than 2000 Titles | Crypto + Fiat on: January 07, 2022, 09:20:23 AM
I took a read about the KYC policy but apparently you'd have to verify yourself as soon as you cross 500 EUR of withdrawal volume?

IMO that is quite a low ceiling and you should probably increase it if you want to target the crypto crowd who absolutely hate KYC/AML procedures.

I do like the site but this is a dealbreaker for most people imho. If fiat integration comes at the cost of privacy, I'd rather have privacy.
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 07, 2022, 09:06:30 AM
Chris Paul with his first triple-double of the season. Wow! That's a point guard, a pure one. He facilitates for the whole team and we are used to just seeing him with double-doubles but not today. 14 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists, and he is 36 years old.  Grin He lead the Suns to gain the win from the Clippers who had been fighting back until the fourth quarter. Now, they are on the top seed of the West with 30 wins after GSW was defeated with their stars benched.

Clippers just can't get over the suns.

CP3 seems to have a personal vendetta against these Clips, damn. Seems like whenever he plays them he goes off.

In regards to Kawhi, he seems to be coming back this season potentially with rehab ahead of schedule. I would love to see him out and about once again, and the Clips could potentially move to the WCF once again.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China's Digital Yuan Wallet App Now in iOS and Android App Stores on: January 05, 2022, 03:56:50 AM
I personally think that it's probably going to be a flop.

Chinese citizens are going to be more comfortable using Alipay and Wechat pay which are the dominant players right now, and foreigners are certainly not going to be using this service any time soon.

CBDCs are the future, but short term wise I think adoption will be difficult.
245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: P2P gambling games - survey from creators on: January 05, 2022, 03:13:18 AM
That looks unique. But every time you transfer back the fund from your smart contract to the players or winners, that would be consuming a lot of fees. And the concern about liquidity, he's right.

However, there is just not enough liquidity in most p2p gambling platforms for it to be worthwhile for whales and regulars to play on.

There have been attempts I think to have this type of setting but IIRC, no one of them became successful. People are still into the casual casinos that have the common games.

Exactly.

Most people are just content with playing on a centralized platform with the common games like Dice, Blackjack etc.

With the infrastructure right now that we have, smart contracts are incredibly costly and slow to execute and it'll make the gaming experience absolutely atrocious for everyone involved. Unless you run it on some proprietary chain without many transactions (but that's going to arguably be costlier to develop).
246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Could Gambling Legalization be a positive thing for Brazil? on: January 05, 2022, 03:00:39 AM
According to the article published :
https://www.gamblingnews.com/news/brazil-gambling-legalization-would-bring-3-5bn-in-annual-tax/
The legalization of Gambling in Brazil alone can bring 3.5 Billion Dollars in Annual Tax. The country have not yet legalized the casino gambling but there have been frivolous attempts to make that happen. At the same time it could also be responsible for creating over 650,000 Jobs in collaboration with Bingo and other forms of betting as well. The country's lawmakers want to tax Gambling industry at 30% to be able to earn from them a descent amount to solve the economic fallout from the last year, in the middle of covid, any move counts and can be important as well.
The president have stern thinking and he is against it but some members think they are just looking 7 years worth of revenue if they are not legalizing it. What I do think is they should keep it into consideration that, be it legal or no people would still do it, might as well, make sure they are doing it on a trusted platform and at the same time bringing revenue for the country as well.

What do you guys think?
Shouldn't it be the sound decision??
Why is the government not legalizing gambling casinos even tho since 2018 sports betting has been legal in the country.

I think that legalizing would be a good idea.

Taxing winnings from gambling at 30% would be an incredibly bad idea, though, because that would essentially offset any gains from the legalization efforts.

You'd essentially be telling all the gamblers to go elsewhere and screw up the business aspect of operating a casino... If you are going to be a safe haven for casinos, go all the way.
247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 05, 2022, 02:51:32 AM
We've got Kyrie making his season debut for the New Jersey Nets tomorrow,
As per my own view, still not expecting Kyrie Irving at 100% as the term used on his possible return is "target", "hopeful", "expected" for Brookly Nets next game against the Indiana Pacers. Waiting for game analysis sites to post their predictions and forecast as sometimes, they have a real scoop of a player's status.

Just a trivia that I saw recently that even Klay Thompson missed 2 seasons, he still has lots of played games compared to Kyrie Irving lol.

Never know regarding Kyrie.

I personally think that it's not really worth it to have him from the Nets' perspective.

Right now the way to go about winning is just having people available on your team. You don't need to do anything fancy per se or have a super team - just have a solid roster of 10 players ready to go.
248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big Wins of 2021 ($550,000+) on: January 05, 2022, 02:37:35 AM
Congratulations!

These are some great wins and great betslips. Definitely not easy to achieve.

Just out of curiosity, do you usually pursue these large parlays? Do you have a particular strategy that you stick to or do you just look at the opportunities as they come up?
249  Economy / Economics / Re: NFT and art theft on: December 31, 2021, 05:07:44 AM
Today I found an interesting post on /r/Cryptocurrency about an artist who had to shut down his online gallery, because people keep stealing his works and turning them into NFTs - here's the original post.

NFT technology is legitimately useless, all it does is creating a unique token on blockchain that has zero meaningful connection with the thing it's supposed to represent. When you NFT is an url that points to a centralized site, it's really no different than buying a star or moon land from some scam company.

The artist said that NFT hosting sites refused to cooperate and remove the stolen art, but even if they were doing their job, it would still mean that the whole system is centralized and pointless. Deluded NFT fans like to say that NFT gives people the ability to "truly" own something, but in reality NFT owners own absolutely nothing and are at mercy of NFT hosting sites.

NFTs were said to help support the artists, but here we see how they did the opposite and forced an artist to close their gallery and reducing their chances of selling their art or getting commissions. The artists who are profiting from NFTs the most are the big names like Grimes who are already rich.

NFT technology has been so overhyped over recent months, but I think that people are starting to realize that.

It is nothing but a gimmick that is designed to enrich the founders of each project.

They claim that it represents ownership of assets, which is true, but what good is that when the asset itself can be infinitely created out of thin air?
250  Economy / Economics / Re: IRS says stolen property and bribes must be reported as income on: December 31, 2021, 04:56:02 AM
Ah yes - criminals are going to expose themselves by paying their taxes so that when they do get charged, they will at least avoid the tax evasion ones Roll Eyes

It's honestly ridiculous and a perfect encapsulation of how archaic and unreasonable the current tax code is in most countries.

Hopefully blockchain technology can help the processing of tax be more efficient and fair for everyone involved.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking usdt off exchanges on: December 31, 2021, 04:47:26 AM
I'm looking for a way to stake stable coins like USDT or USDC off any cex exchanges, I know binance exchange allows staking usdt on its exchange but I don't want to stake mine on exchange but straight from a wallet that has private key instead, anyone familiar with any?

You can't just stake USDT, it doesn't have any inherent yield.

But what you can do potentially is put it on DeFi protocols and lend it out, for example Aave is currently offering around 6-7% on USDT depending on what the platform you are staking on is. I would suggest using MATIC given the low fees that you will come across.

Crypto.com has a DeFi wallet that you can use as well - but that is essentially automating the process of yield farming for you.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is your most anticipated project for 2022 on: December 31, 2021, 04:40:28 AM
I'm looking at SOL.

It is one of the fastest layer ones out there and it certainly has a lot of potential. Hopefully more dapps and DEXs get built on the SOL ecosystem, but at the end of the day even if it just follows its current growth trajectory it should see some pretty nice returns.

ETH2.0 should be very exciting to see come out as well - hopefully that does get released soon.
253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 30, 2021, 06:42:23 AM
Looks like the Lakers will be more frustrated after this game because almost everybody in the team has missed some crucial shots in the 4th quarter especially the miss easy layup of Westbrook. Man! this Lakers team right now not gonna make the playoffs with this kind of play let alone winning another championship. Gonna give the credit to Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies, the second chance putback by Ja was amazing and they managed to get the win.

They didn't even manage to get a shot up which is a real shame.

Nobody wants to go 1-5, especially not after a crucial win against Houston where people thought that the Lakers are back.

They are now at the bottom of the playoff race and I think that it'll be a matter of time before they drop out.

In other news, Celtics just had one of the worst 3-pt shooting nights of all time with an accuracy of less than 10% on 40+ attempts. Crazy...
254  Economy / Economics / Re: Corporations use inflation as an excuse to raise prices and fatten profits on: December 30, 2021, 06:21:23 AM
The money printing is only one aspect of inflation.

This is the more important cause of inflation - which is that there is significant markups (cost-push) and panic buying (demand-pull) in all sectors of the economy, especially in terms of semiconductors.

Not sustainable at all, fiat is going to struggle to outperform any asset class.
255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: December 30, 2021, 05:52:36 AM
I expect that for the next years, gambling operators of both online casinos and brick and mortar casinos will be openly accepting Bitcoin bets. And not only that, the Lightning Network will definitely be utilized as well for a more convenient and generally smoother gambling experience.

It is also possibly a big thing in the next years that gamblers could already bet on blockchain game tournaments. For now, I cannot see odds on certain crypto matches. There will definitely be future tournaments on games built on blockchain and gamblers would be able to place their bets on certain teams and players.

256  Economy / Economics / Re: What's your opinion of the insurance industry? on: December 30, 2021, 05:41:41 AM
I think that https://nexusmutual.io/ is already offering a lot of insurance on protocols/platforms.

However, the fact that they openly advertise themselves as an insurance DAO, but at the same time proclaim that they are not an insurance product and the ultimate right to all insurance payout decisions is reserved by the DAO is really off-putting.

E.g. what if Binance goes down and the payouts would essentially crush the DAO? Would members vote in favour of compensating in full, or simply chicken out due to self-interest?
257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best gambling site in 2021 on: December 30, 2021, 05:17:54 AM
The year 2021 has been flooded with the introduction of but new and old gambling platforms, the forum witness high traffic the year 2021 recorded the highest number of new gambling sites registering the presence on the forum while some became successful other simply scam and left. Let see a list of gambling sites that score the highest in 2021.

For 2021, I'd say Roobet and Stake.

Despite the controversy with Roobet earlier in the year with streamers it is certainly the most dominant player alongside Stake at the moment for quality KYC-free gambling experiences.

Going forward though there could be a real shake-up in the scene, with more decentralized casinos coming out on top compared to centralized alternatives.
258  Economy / Gambling / Re: DIZBET - Sports, Esports, Online Casino | BTC, ETH and Litecoin Accepted! on: December 30, 2021, 05:04:53 AM
Firstly, the site takes quite a while to load for me. I'm not sure if this is the experience of others as well.

I personally think that there is a lot of potential in the esportsbook industry because of the lack of competitors that would offer high limits gambling, so if you are able to do that you can really establish a presence in a short period of time.

However, how do the bonuses that you are offering work? They seem good but we need a bit more detail.

They do have comprehensive list in terms of esports betting.
Which I think, they can market as their advantage over other bookmakers.
However, they need to run some sort of esports promotions so their long list will not be put to waste.
eSports is starting to gain some bettors in the forum, some bookies here have short list of choices so I think that's their advantage here.
And they need to showcase this advantage by running some promotional activities so esports lovers will notice their sportsbooks.

Completely agreed.

Although in terms of the promos, I actually think that having high limits for whales to bet on esports events is much more important than having promotions.

There is a severe lack of good casinos which accept BTC and have respectable betting limits on esports games, and this is the void that Dizbet should target.
259  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bethub.gg | The world of High Stakes! 👑 on: December 30, 2021, 04:56:31 AM
We don't charge any fees for withdrawing,KYC Verification is not required for less than 20,000EUR transaction.

So if someone wins big >20k EUR without having initially put in 20k EUR, they would have to submit KYC?

Is this threshold cumulative or just a one off?

This could be a real turn-off for people who are just looking for an anonymous gambling experience without the need to undergo KYC/AML procedures.
260  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦉Owl.games🦉Sportsbook & Crypto Casino For Web 3.0 - BTC-Metamask-Walletconnect on: December 30, 2021, 04:47:32 AM
This type of casino catches my attention, really when it comes to establishing a link to metamask, even though from everything I have heard of some scams that have been done through the metamask wallet, I think that OP should offer a secure link or something that you assure your clients that their operations will remain safe, of course it is only a suggestion, nothing unimportant, and it is also only for altcoins? I understand that for BTC it is necessary to have so that it can be on the main gambling board here in the forum.

Not sure about what you mean by a secure link?

The link should be secure enough given that the user will be interacting via Metamask and all transactions will requrie his/her approval before being signed off. Obviously there still needs to be a degree of trust for the dapp but that is unavoidable.

I agree with the native BTC integration - it is one of the things that you definitely need as a casino.
