Reminds me how happy those that criticized visa were when they were able to get their money back
That's only insurance which can be provided for bitcoin. It's the biggest obstacle front of wider adoption in my opinion. I'm ok with using btc without it, but the average person needs it badly.

with PayPal and Google wallet you can send money to everyone in the world without permission already.
All those payment methods are awfully limited (and expensive) compared to bitcoin, not to mention that you have no control over your funds. Apple pay might bring some features which are "clever" but as usual it's way overhyped. I also don't think that it's direct competition for crypto currencies. Sorry if I just fed a troll, I don't follow this forum closely.

I would buy a house, rent it out and wait one year and sell it for a big profit.
I'm not sure if most people want to be a lowly landlord or property dealer. Also in a lot of countries .gov managed to inflate huge bubbles so it's quite risky in most developed countries. My advice to OP: Diversification is key. I would leave some in btc, precious metals (physical), property (carefully selected), land. I would definitely invest some in creating bitcoin companies.

I can vouch for this shop. Ordered an item and got it delivered without any problems.

Technically, the big problems with Bitcoin in its existing form are: - Confirmations are too slow. - The block chain is too big. - Micropayments are too expensive to process. - Mining is too centralized.
All are technically fixable, and fixes have been proposed. All of those, though, are incompatible with the present blockchain.
To be honest I think this is the list of the most overhyped problems. - Confirmations - slow for what scenario? propagation is almost instant, confirmation is faster than any previous system. - Big for your 20GB hard drive and ADSL connection? - Micropayments - again, show me an other system which is unlimited, independent and has lower fees? - Mining centralization - as always if it gets centralized people will vote with their "wallets" I really hope the devs won't rush any changes. With a project like this everything has to be tested and thought through properly.

So no, I don't see myself using bitcoin and I consider myself more knowledgeable about bitcoin that the average joe.
Short-sightedness at its finest. Bitcoin is not even a static, finished product. It's an ever evolving open software.

I think it was a pretty awesome year so far. A lot of things are in motion and a lot of adoption/developments happened.
It was bad only for short-term speculators, but I couldn't care about those.

Even if that person is interested in bitcoin doesn't mean s/he will adopt bitcoin .Frankly, bitcoin is worthless to me right now .It solves absolutely no problem for me and the thing that it does really well( money tranfer ) actually cost more than the mainstream that it's trying to replace. So no, I don't see myself using bitcoin and I consider myself more knowledgeable about bitcoin that the average joe.
What the hell are you doing here then?

The reason for this is because the US has such a strong military. We are the only ones in the world that has the military capacity to potentially handle this job/responsibility.
Or, more like, you are lead to believe that. the US does have a very strong military. There is really not any other one country that has the capability to police the world as the US does. Are you able to name one country that can? Police the world or terrorize and exploit everyone else?

If by money you mean BTC then both. I think poorer bitcoiners are more likely to focus on fiat profits though.

Bitcoin isn't a get-rich-quick scheme, if you have lost your faith, the best thing you can do is howl your coins and forget about them for some years.
Or sell them to me. I would happily take them.

I'm hopeful that in the future the future there will be no taxes but contributions. With the blockchain corruption could be stopped completely.

Great post.
I'd love to see many of these changes implemented. It seems like they would make bitcoin much more awesome. Why do you think they haven't been?
I don't think that the devs should rush any changes. Everything needs to be tested and thought out properly before implementing.

Altcoins could use a somewhat official review team that checks the codes before a coinlaunch. Exchanges should not list coins that aren't coming through, that could safe a lot of people from scams.
I don't think altcoins function outside of testing concepts and attempting to make the creators rich. Anyone who jumps into a new alt to make profits deserves what they'll get.

If you want btc then buy it directly. I would only consider mining just to support the network with a cheap USB miner, or run a full node instead.

Because some people have too much time on hand.
Those conspiracy theory actually provides good reading and keep people content rather than paying attention to most recent events.
I'm not sure how anyone can still hold this attitude. Long before the snowden revelations, people who said that US agencies spy on everyone and collect data ignoring all laws have been ridiculed and called conspiracy freaks. I do believe that the US government is behind ISIS, al qaeda, and other groups which they use for false flag operations and to justify tyrannical laws and military actions. Using fear to manipulate the population is nothing new and have been used many times during our history.
