You dont need to control the BTC address it is sent from, but you do need to secure the ICO login. Komodo the platform can be used to create multiple chains. These chains are alt coins in their own right. Currently im not too sure about smart contracts, so for now everything is built on top of the chains themselves. It is a platform with a native coin. People will be able to spawn up a new chain/coin with a curl call. It will have privacy tech based on zcash, iguana and dPoW. I would suggest you not hold the BTCD in the NXT AE as there will be a snapshot about 2 weeks after ICO to give out revenue share assets. If you have it on there, it will be really hard to sort out. Keep it in a BTCD wallet so you can stake too. If btcd snapshot for rev asset happens 2 weeks after ico, is there any value holding btcd after then? I read people will continue staking for a year, why? It comes down to how does every coin get value? People can choose not to swap as it is their right. They can stake for a year and at the end of that year they will continue on as BTCD. If they choose to swap at the end of the year they will get 5% to offset the 5% they gained by swapping late. |

At first do you distribute it for NXT assets?
There is no dilution of rev share for BTCD holders. So whatever % of BTCD you hold vs the total, that is how many % of assets in the new asset chain. There is no official asset, but maybe 3rd parties will setup KMD asset on NXT. |

Yes, everyone can swap their BTCD's to KMD after the Komodo ICO has ended. Will poloniex be auto swapping to KMD? I dont think so. Best to get the BCTD to your wallet for the snapshot. It will be done about 2 weeks after the conclusion of the ICO. You done need to swap your BTCD if you dont want to, but with the snap shot you will still get the asset chain. |

KMD-BTC price is expected drop not BTCD-BTC. If anyone is buying BTCD now for 0.0042 then converts into KMD and dreams to sell at 0.0053 then the price will drop.
Also, what you have recommended is not what others plan to do. And that's where problems arise.
Buying-wise, there are three ways to get KMD: - Invest BTC during the ICO. - Buy BTCD and swap it. - Buy it after the ICO. If one thinks that the price of KMD will be lower than its ICO price then it is better to wait. Otherwise, I don't see any reason for BTCD not to reach prices >= 0.00425 unless all the BTC investors invest on day 1. As long as the price of BTCD is less than its equivalent in BTC for the different phases of the ICO (counting bonuses), it seems preferable to buy BTCD and swap it later. This will make the BTCD price rise (at least for the duration of the ICO). Good point but also realize there are only 1.2 million BTCD and most are being held. The price will stay below the threshold since there is only people looking to get out who are selling and now stuck at a valuation. These would be the only people selling. No one is going to buy BTCD for more and no one is really going to dump and sell for less when they could swap in to something new. So buying BTCD isn't a real option to get into KMD, once people buy in they can't sell for more than the ICO so they hold and don't sell either. Its just a swap pretty much here. So that leaves the ICO or Buy it after... Why would people buy in to sell lower? It is pretty obvious the price will only go up. The only problem is if no one buys with BitCoin at the ICO then there are no funds to pay the nodes and the only KMD would be the BTCD which won't be sold to pay the nodes. I would expect all the buys at the 25% and that would be the extent of it. If anyone gets in later is is only because they didn't hear about the ICO and want in. BTCD holders will retain the revenue share as well as the average % bonus of the BTC investors. It also gives the flexibility of being able to swap over the period of a year. |

I was just wondering about the comparison between Zcash and Komodo. I know you say that you're not directly competing (maybe this is a front, so excuse my lack of interpretation) and that Komodo will likely be LTC to BTC in comparison. However it seems to me that Komodo will have significant funding, a great team, yourself, the existing infrastructure you have built, dPoW as added security, a none US entity (good or bad thing), a working fancy GUI... Lots of things that Zcash will be lacking. Does this not merit it being even better than Zcash or a better alternative?

What James has always said is that we should be competing with fiat and not with each other and i think it shows in the answers he provides. I personally think that we are a better alternative to Zcash as we are taking the best parts of everything it offers and combining it with dPoW. |

I've sold my BTCD No you do not need btcd to invest into the komodo ICO but it is better to do so currently. If you sold your btcd, you have just sold something worth 0.0053 for 0.004 so congrats on that. That's not entirely true though. It depends on the amount of Bitcoin raised and the time the bitcoin is raised (as bonus % counts into the equation). The valuation of the btcd swapped to iguana is 0.0053 btc (this is without the additional average btc bonus bonus  ). Even if there is 0 btc invested then the price of komodo should go up due to the new tech involved and when the zcash hype gets started. But i suspect that we may get more than a few btc to justify the valuation. |

I have a question about participating in the Komodo ICO, I have BTCD, will i need transfer the BTCD from an exchange to the BTCD wallet or can I do the swap from my BTCD exchange address.
Just to add, the reason why you would withdraw to your wallet is because a snap shot will be taken at the end of the ICO period. This snapshot is used to allocate the rev share for the BTCD holders. Even though exchanges should pass on the assets, i would avoid the hassle and just use a wallet you control. |
