a little update on DMD v4 development

we work close together with 3 developers who will push forward coding
and also help our sisterproject artis to finish its code upgrade

this is needed as we can not relay and trust on lab10 to finish it alone

we are willing to do our part to make sure honeybadger/posdao with an attached dao governance development get finished in a way as DMDv4 roadmap did plan it

as this was from start on a shared codebase and shared effort to finish it

we are more then willing to contribute our part to make it happen



what does that mean regarding timeframe

a q2 release is not possible at all

we hope for a q4 2020 if things go well

if problems arise it can be later too

BUT the imporatant part is we keep working on it


meanwhile open ethereum node client which will be the non honeybadger/posdao other half of our client had a new release and show a healthy enviroment with many contributing teams

things look still bright for diamond future!

everyone have to decide on his own if he want to trust a 3rd party service

that u dont need to run a own node 24/7 can be nice for u
but the network enjoy more active nodes

that u would earn more by use a staking service isnt true

this days as its cheap get hand on a few thousand dmd u sure stake easy and stabke on ur own better then using a 3rd party service

we focus full on dmd v4 development and there wont be any new v3 release for minor issues

but things can change fast and a q2 release of dmd v4 is not total out of scope

good news is that lab10 (or developement partner and developer of artis) is now part of the openethereum allianz which will take over parity node software development
as they give it free to community (the original parity devs focus on eth2 and cosmos coding)

lab10 works together with well knows projects in ethereum space like gnosis and POA Networks
this means the honeybadger and posdao codeparts will become native abilities of openethereum node client software
and we expect it to be one of the most used blockchain protocol combinations late 2020 early 2021
for blockchains projects that wants to have ethereum combatible smart contract engine with far superior consensus

DMD Diamond will be one of the first blockchains that will have honeybadger/posdao productive.
we just dont plan make it a two step upgrade and we wont start first with aura/posdao

for artis this is different it make sense for them

as they have already a aura consensus blockchain the evolution

aura -> aura/posdao -> honeybadger/posdao make sense

for DMD not as we want one big leap from DMD v3 to DMD v4 and not many small hops


while most of honeybadger/podao coding happens at partners we work intense in the DMD v4 claiming tool
(pure blockchain based smartcontract with dapp) that will allow claim ur DMD v3 balance by sign a message with old DMD v3 wallet
and submit result and target address on DMD v4 on a dapp thats developed by us

to be honest even if im proud when prices value our work we wont stop working even if prices dont reflect what we think DMD deserve.
we have no need to sell DMD to fund development so we are not limited in abbilities to reach our goal by low prices

logic conclusion:

if u want more green buy more DMD

restart wallet wait 5 min after it finished to sync

unlock wallet in staking mode

a encrypted wallet can not stake until u unlock it

in gui wallet with the unlock icon

in cli wallet with

(9999999 is time in seconds and true means unlock for staking only)

in cli u should delete comand history to hide ur password in console

dmd v4 testnet is in a state where we play around with posdao staking mechanics

want to share a few things


there is validators candidates which are full nodes
with at least 10000 staked by validator owner (more is possible no upper limit)

on top of validator owner stake also other people can delegated stake
thats why each validator candidate also act as staking pool


if they selected into active epoch (1 day) all validators get an equal share end of epoch
split between the coins staked on it

this means there is gaming logic involved

the more coins staked on a validator the more likely he become active validator in a epoch
BUT the more coins staked the less the reward ratio per staked coin is (since the rewards are same for each validator)

this gaming mechanic make sure that validator size of coins by people will be set in a way that validators stake is small and more validators setup when there is not many in network BUT the more competition there is (many more candidates then slots) the more it make sence create bigger stakes to be more often selected in active set

keep in mind the main goal is to secure a blockchain by mathematic and game logic
