241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why people are using nicehash? on: November 30, 2017, 04:41:54 PM
Oh Boy, I'm starting to ask myself if I'm really Lazy, Lol Grin

Can't help, why do I end up using nicehash over other pools? Hmmmnnn..

One thing I know, I do realized, I get more profit, How did I do it? its a secret, lol,  and ohh, BTC reached an all time high..

that's how it is.. btw.. I don't mine ETH for a month now Grin

Your "secret" of autoconverting to BTC doesn't mean you got more just because BTC is high now. On the other hand if you had waited with selling alts for BTC... you could have made much more.

I haven't mined Eth since last July. There is/was always something much more profitable you just have spend the time looking for them.

So yeah, nicehash basically offers plug and play levels of ease of use at a pretty high convenience fee. Which, as jmigdlc99 said doesn't make much sense because most people are here for the ROI which it takes a huge bite out of.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why people are using nicehash? on: November 30, 2017, 12:43:45 PM
Because they're lazy and/or don't know any better.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Would 1.5 Gbps HDD or SSD suffice? on: November 30, 2017, 12:31:58 PM
What do you want to use it for?

In any case, SSDs are almost uncomparably faster when working with small chunks of data - which is the majority of everyday workload. So if capacity/cost is not your priority, SSDs are the way to go.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: buy ADA thank me later... on: November 30, 2017, 11:07:04 AM
Because it's on bittrex only. And I got problem with verification so. Want but cannot.

Yeah, Bittrex only and not mineable so that's a no-no.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ▶️ Batch Launcher on: November 30, 2017, 09:59:07 AM
yep, source is available if you want to build it  Wink

With source it's cool, well done!
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Batch Launcher on: November 30, 2017, 09:35:20 AM
Or, if you don't trust random binaries, just move your .bat file to C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup to have them autostart at logon.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitClave ICO completes in 32 Seconds, $25.5mln Raised on: November 30, 2017, 08:53:05 AM
...because you can certainly trust ICOs and the numbers on their centralized websites...

Great video!

Though I'm not sure splitting cables should be encouraged to newbies - which I assume the video is mostly aimed for.

The problem comes when a couple of cards crash after a few days or even weeks and the miner restarts (manually or automatically if set up that way) so the crashed cards will mine at default settings, at 300W or whatever the default power limit is for your cards. Can be annyoing and even dangerous, especially with all the splitting. I'd definitely take a thermal imaging camera if you can get you hands on one and look at how each cable is doing after hours of load, maybe even trying different algos and power limits.
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which SSD would you choose? on: November 30, 2017, 07:33:57 AM
Definitely Samsung. I have about a dozen Samsung SSDs from 250GB SATA to 2TB NVMe and all of them are in perfect condition even after 3.9 years of online time. (My problem is in my current Z370 system with 3 NVMe, I can only have another 2 SATA drives at a time).

I also have about a dozen 120/250 GB Kingston SSDs and I have 2 die on me in mining rigs (so light use).
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1050ti vs 1080ti power consumption on: November 29, 2017, 05:33:27 PM
I don't think voltage settings work at all. Just use the power limit slider. With AORUS Gigabte 1080 Ti's I can go as low as 150 watts (50% power limit). But that's too low.
When I talk about voltage with Pascal cards, I mean controlling it with curve in MSI AB. It definitely works, that's how I adjust all my cards. Although there's a chance that with setting PL to 50% the voltage could go even lower than 0.8V? What's the actual gpu voltage on your Aorus cards when your consumption goes to 150W?

Oh yeah, the curve method works, you're right but 800mV is too high for the lowest end unfortunately.

Looking at only one of my rigs, for 50% PL I get anywhere between 0.7620V to 0.7930V depending on the card (each card has it's more or less stable preference for the same clocks. something something, ASIC quality). Same figures for 3 different algos.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to mine IOTA on: November 29, 2017, 10:19:58 AM
It's not mineable, all the IOTA is in existence now.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1050ti vs 1080ti power consumption on: November 28, 2017, 10:19:21 AM
The 1080Ti is most efficient than the 1050Ti, I have both.
1050Ti power usage don't fall under 52,5 W.
1080Ti power consumption fall to 140 W.
1080 Ti consuming only 140W is a rare sight. It's probably even impossible to get this low consumption with many algos. I was running one of my 1080 Tis @ 0.8V — the lowest voltage MSI AB allows to set — and it was still consuming close to 200W mining BTX. How did you get 140W with your card(s) and on what algo?

I don't think voltage settings work at all. Just use the power limit slider. With AORUS Gigabte 1080 Ti's I can go as low as 150 watts (50% power limit). But that's too low.

@ Bathroomheater

He could use 1070 Katanas...

Wotan

Bathroomheater  Grin

The katanas are very loud and hot. Really awful for mining.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Suprnova is selfish-mining BTG, and HOW YOU CAN BEAT THEM TO MAKE MONEY on: November 24, 2017, 04:01:24 PM
    a. For the last several days, the luck of suprnova is worse than 100% (150%). Yes, it fluctuates. But when you have almost 70% of the net hash rate and you average over 3 days. This is simply wrong.

Stopped reading there. You obviously have no idea how variance (luck) works.

Edit: read the whole thread, I was right.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are riserless motherboards more power efficient? on: November 24, 2017, 03:49:43 PM
There's literally no reason that it would allow for more efficiency. In fact, it's more the opposite since the cards are so close together that they will have probably throttle themselves due to high thermals. Well, downclocking is almost always more effecient, but you could do that with a properly cooled system as well.

For mining, you either leave a big enough gap between the cards to let their cooling work or you use super loud high performance fans which also uses more electricity, throwing both efficiency and being quiet out of the window. Or water cooling but that costs too much and it's quite finnicky...
256  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: November 23, 2017, 07:21:23 PM
I got an answer to my ticket within minutes but it was the typical copy paste "In order to increase your limits you will need to verify your account" nonsense.

Not having a grace period and allowing users to withdraw their funds without the new rules is retarded.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex verification stuck on: November 22, 2017, 11:33:41 PM
After over 3 years of using Bittrex, I can honestly say; fuck them.

They disabled withdraws for long term users without verification - which pretty much defeats the purpose of crypto.

And they did so without any warning whatsoever. Fuck them.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Moral and ICO's on: November 22, 2017, 11:15:35 PM
ICOs and morals shouldn't be in the same sentence. ICOs, along with any form of premines are inherently scams.
259  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: November 21, 2017, 09:17:33 PM
Not banned but they just limited me from 1337 BTC to 0.025 BTC without warning - which is the scammy part. We knew/feared that forced verification was going to happen eventually but not giving a heads-up is just a scammy thing to do.

After 3 years and 7 months of use I might as well just close my account.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / RIPtrex on: November 21, 2017, 09:08:44 PM
Happened to me as well.

1337 > 0.025.

Might as well close my account after 3 years and 7 months of use.
