241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: taking profit can be hard sometimes. on: April 30, 2021, 03:48:19 PM
If you have problem with taking profits then you have a problem called greed, everyone in crypto space are investors who plans to double their money or make more, you must have a plan and a target too so once your coin do 2x, 3x 4x you need to make a move, always remember that the coin you made money from today won't be that last crypto project in crypto space, more opportunities will arise
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Metamask: What do you know about it? on: April 30, 2021, 03:35:37 PM
Right from day one I've never liked any thing that runs through browser add-on or plugins because the first time I would experience malware was through browser plugins, I'm not surprised that metamask ( as good as it is ) can be easily compromised just by browsing the web, I started using metamask with confidence when the team released the app version
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need help with heat issues on: April 29, 2021, 03:31:14 PM
Just because the weather is 80 degrees doesn't mean your GPUs will be showing you 80°C, in door are always cooler even in hot weather, how about dropping your exact temp of your GPUs when mining?

1. Avoid aggressive overclocking
2. If you are on free electricity get air conditioner
3. If your GPU temp is around 50°C to 70°C they are safe

This is important.

A gpu rig poorly setup can burn an extra 200 watts with zero extra hash.

So at op

what are your 8 cards?

is this 1 rig?

or 2 rigs?

how about some photos of the setup?

and do you run windows?
how do you clock the gear.
Hi boss @philipima1957 are you saying that if mining rigs are working at higher temp they will draw even more power? Well that's new cos I'm just hearing this for the first time, want to elaborate more on this cos I'm confused?
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is RTX 3070 amongst the best efficiency GPU to mine ETH? on: April 29, 2021, 03:26:33 PM
RX 5600 44mh with 80 watts = 0,55mh per watt
RX 5500 28.5 with 50 watts = 0,57 per watt

but thats are stats from other users, i donīt own 1 of that cards to test, but it can be. Maybe someone with this cards can tell us more?
It seems that you are telling us watts from HiveOS. I have the same but there is one problem - if you want to get true values - use wattmeter. In fact it is 100-110wt for 5600 and 75-80wt for 5500.

About the best efficiency - 3060ti-3070 are the best for today. They easy to config and don`t need any flashing as RX5600.

Nope, many users tell that. But i donīt own one of this cards so it can be higher.  Cheesy
You have tested an RX5600 or RX5500?

mak013 is right, people are saying 80w for RX 5600XT, but it's on software, the power on the wall is higher, I have a 5600xt, and never reached these magic values people say
I don't own a RX 5500 but I doubt about 50w on the wall

My 5600xt is using 98 W on Hive OS, but 115w on the wall (no bios mod)

Nvidia cards stats are closer to software than AMDs, so I vote for 3060ti and 3070 for the best efficiency, and another good thing about Nvidia is you don't have to bios mod, only overclock the card
I've stopped believing in the power draw that mining softwares used to display, on my rx580s I lower their core voltage to 750mv just for power saving sake and from wall these cards still draws over 100watts thanks to wattmeter
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: best usdt-trc20 wallet? on: April 29, 2021, 02:17:36 PM
I prefer using binance exchange wallet to store my usdt-trc20 because it is easy whenever you want to transfer to another platform

However, people always say that it is not good to use a centralized/exchange wallet. If you do not like it either, I recommend you Trust wallet. They are quite reliable and the private key is yours, too.

METAMASk, tronix that's the two user friendly and secured wallet that easily install in our browser, trc20 is one of my bet wallet because of fast transaction low fees like bsc, you can also try other platform that are available online, but be very careful of using unreliable wallet.
I never thought that we can run a tronx network on metamask. I only encounter Binance smart chain on metamask
Metamask is more than capable but many people don't just know it, you can run any mainnet or network on metamask not just binance smart chain only, even the new Sovryn project that's running on RSK mainnet is working on metamask, lately I'm in love with the wallet honestly
246  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Secure Our Wallet to Prevent Being Hacked! on: April 27, 2021, 02:59:47 PM
I have a fam that use metamask to store some BTC and he lost it all when using in crime browser, for someone who actually know about phishing and spywares he was so careful, well the fact is using wallet in browser add-on can never be 100% safe, when you start using that browser to go into different websites anything is possible
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Waiting for bear market to build rigs once again on: April 27, 2021, 11:13:31 AM
I'm not sure you did the right because nobody can tell when this bull market will be over it is possible that this bull market will be around for months or probably till 2022 and I'm sure you will regret selling already because you won't be able to buy cards at cheaper price like you plan
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Chia generating K32 plot file on 230-240GB SSD on: April 27, 2021, 11:07:35 AM
I believe that CPU capability and Ram speed plays a major role when mining chia or say plotting, your CPU have to be gen 9 or gen 10 if it's i series, if it's XEON build then even better, though some XEON are old, Ive ordered for a XEON build server since they have more cores and threads, also 128g ddr4 RAM onboard.

To plot it's better to use 1TB NVME SSD, though avoid running your OS on this ssd

If you are buying gear specifically for CHIA, try and buy a 2TB SSD / NVMe, you will squeeze 1 extra plot out (3 plots fit 1TB, but you can get 7 in 2TB)

ALSO, try and buy Enterprise / Datacentre level SSD / NVMe, the writes KILL drives. you use approx 1.6TBW per 100GB written. So to plot say a 10TB drive, you will use 160 TBW. Most consumer SSD don't have much more life than this. (Make sure to look at Mixed USE, not READ optimised)
I have also read that the enterprise drives have different priorities, so they can deliver the sustained read/writes much better, ie at full speed for the 8 hours needed to plot. My consumer drives even with heatsinks have massive peaks and troughs.

For ref with a Ryzen 1800x, 32GB ram, 1TB NVme, and 1TB SSD, (2 x 3 plots - staggered at 5 minute intervals) i can plot 1.2TB a day MAX.
Hope this helps
Hi, thanks for sharing some light on this, I would like to ask you what a enterprise drive is? A friend told me that server HDD are better because they are build to run 24/7 everyday, how true is this? Are you running your farm on server PC?
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [Be Aware]: Fake Ethereum and USDT Mixers on: April 26, 2021, 03:14:57 PM
Wow  Roll Eyes , it does look like some people are trying to hide their privacy while making transactions with bitcoin and ethereum actually have always asked why people are doing it because I as a person don't see the reason why I would want to hide my transactions on the blockchain because I just don't see any reason why I have nothing to hide so this is unbelievable right now thank you for sharing this information I hope those who actually use mixes can learn from this
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: easiest coin to mine in 2021? on: April 26, 2021, 03:11:17 PM
Did you just say hotbit? A scam exchange?
[...]
Let's not over compare the Bitcoin situation back then to the current thousands of coins available today.
Chia Network is founded by Bram Cohen, father of BitTorrent. Personally, I don't find any shady with it, aside being listed on Hotbit. But yet, Hotbit isn't a scam exchange. You might be messed up with Yobit.

Of course, Chia can't be compared with Bitcoin but it's difficult to foretell anything in this market. Even Doge can increase by 100x in 2 years, it'd be no surprise if it's listed on Binance some day.

And if you're going to look for articles, they're already creating some issues that it's going to cause a shortage for storages, ssd/hdd.
That's insane. I had to pay double the price to upgrade my PC's graphic card. Now the same is coming with SSD/HDD. Along with the shortage of processors, PC/laptop market will be gone wild.

The cost of setting up hdd/ssd and good server desktop or i7 desktop is way too high unless you can get these cheaper in your country, also for a coin that's not even listed on any exchange yet it's hard to build a mining rig for it cos anything can happen, price could dump
I wouldn't advise anyone to go into chia mining by building expensive rigs right now because it's future looks uncertainty,  right now it is better to find cheap or used desktops and used at drive to start plotting maybe you might get lucky if you know you can't find this it's better to withdraw right now
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: easiest coin to mine in 2021? on: April 26, 2021, 03:09:38 PM
No valuable coin we will be easy to mine if a coin is easy to mine then it has no value, yeah I can see some telling you to mine chia coin well it is getting too late every day by day because many people are jumping into the network more hard disk is been added everyday so the difficulty will keep rising
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any good recent bounty campaigns? on: April 25, 2021, 07:34:24 PM
I would suggest you should join bounty detective, sofico. At the moment they are running good bounties. Bubbalex was good one but now a days he is not posting new bounties. You can also check bounty0x where they posts many campaigns which are not on bitcointalk.
Is sofico still running? I've never had any luck with his projects before, bounty detective team are not 100% reliable too, they've leave behind the escrow strategy as most of their new bounty campaigns are not escrow anymore.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for next 100x coins on: April 25, 2021, 06:17:25 PM
It looks like the bull season is almost over and some refuse to see that, many wants the bull season to live on which isn't a reality, you don't have to make 100x from a project before you become successful, take 3x gains from different projects will net you good amount of ROI unless you failed to take profit, if you haven't taken profits then you got some problem
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Eth Pow algo isn't going away anytime soon on: April 25, 2021, 06:13:04 PM
There are many other coins to mine if Ethereum proof of work goes down today, stop worrying yourself over things you completely have no control over, lets wait till july and see if ETH team will kill PoW algorithm from their project or they will come out with better plan, I believe that eth will remain the same for many more years
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Intel XEON builds still a thing? on: April 25, 2021, 04:32:33 PM
Xeon processors used to be the most powerful years back but now not anymore, do some comparison between XEON CPU and Core i9 and 10th gen i series, you will see that these new i series beats the XEON, they don't even have chance with Threadripper CPUs
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ultimately long time holders are enjoying the real BEAUTY! on: April 24, 2021, 05:00:35 PM
Long term holders are always the real winners in crypto space, I've been around for so long to finally understand this but holding for years is what many can't endure since they always expect quick growths in a matter of a year or two, real holders don't care how long it will take them, they just keep holding on
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: BasketCoin.io - deflationary token on: April 24, 2021, 04:53:45 PM
If all what a project have to offer in 2021 is everything deflationary the project is crap sorry to say, we need new projects with real use cases and deflationary tokens have failed many times already since they bring nothing new to the table than burning off tokens
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you buy a coin that can go ONLY up? on: April 21, 2021, 08:31:58 AM
A crypto project that doesn't rebounds or retrace and just keep surging and surging is a complete shitcoin, the reason for that surging is pump, the shitcoin is been pumped by unknown groups of people and when they finally had enough the whole project will go way down to the point of no return, stay away
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Getting older GPUs to mine on: April 21, 2021, 08:21:47 AM
Quadro k4200? The truth about quadro cards is they are bad for crypto mining either new or old it doesn't matter, sorry pal you just have to put those cards aside and use better gpus instead
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question about router on: April 20, 2021, 06:30:14 AM
If you are using WiFi hotspot for mining then it's going to worth getting a router because wifi hotspot sucks, if you are using 5G network you won't notice the difference though because it's blazing fast but 4G on wifi hotspot still brings 300 to 600MS when mining to using Router can net you 50Ms to 100MS max
