161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Statistics of recommended retail prices for video cards on: July 30, 2021, 10:35:38 AM
For the people that think GTX 1080 ti consumes a lot for me is not real,I have them at 160 watt with 65% power limit making 41 Mhsh as they do in theory 45 Mhsh but with the passing of time their hash rate falls and they are really old cards. However for the same power consumption of 160 watt it makes 25.6 Mhsh in Ravencoin which is a really good hash rate for mining Raven from an old card like this.

41MH from gtx1080ti with 160watt is still much for me, if the card can do 60MH with 160watt power then it's very much better, let your hashrate fits your electricity bill that's what we call true efficiency but unless you have free electricity

27MH must take 50-60watts
30-33MH must take 70watts
50-60MH must take 120-130watt Max

Anything over this is not going to stay under my roof
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question about solomine ETC on: July 30, 2021, 10:19:01 AM
It's a no for me because solo mining is based on luck, I would only do this if I have a gigantic mining farm or if I've already made back my ROI, to me ROI comes first then I start trying out new things or probably keep mining a particular coin and hold for long term.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will you build with 10,000$ on: July 29, 2021, 10:47:28 AM
I have 10,000$ I can risk on mining farm or rigs what is the fastest way to get ROI back with this money?is there any expert in this forum that can give me their own strategy if they have such money to risk on mining? I'm in for long term so I'm not in rush

Buy some ETH,BTC and hold it Smiley 10,000$ really doesn't count as a big investment in the mining world as of now, I mean you really cant buy a lot of "good" things , what is mining related hardware. The fastest and easiest way to get your ROI is buying coin, and sell when you feel you need your money. Maybe learn a little bit about trading coins instead of mining them. Mining hardware's price  are crazy high now , and if coin price jumping again , hardware price going to jump also. Calculating ROI or whatever you calling it , its almost impossible . Mining difficulty always changing  ....

Read my topic HERE , about calculating "ROI" or use any online profit calculators ...

PS: from 10,000$ you not going to build a mining farm , you can get 1 , maybe 2  good ASIC , or build one good 6-8GPU rig ... Sad

Mining hardware aren't crazy high now, remember china is selling off their GPUs as fast as possible, if you talk with GPU wholesalers in China you will be able to get 10 RX 580 8gb GPU for 3,450$ right now, that's about 300+ MH on ETH bro, you will be earning 20$ daily as at today and that's 600$ monthly, you get your money back in just 5 and half months

Sometimes it's just better to have the equipment, after your ROI you can start mining for future holding, to me if you like adventure mining is way better but if you don't like tweaking and dealing with computer equipment then buy coins instead

Mining will forever remain my hobby

$350 per card for a RX580 8GB is no deal. Basically you are paying full retail for a 4 year old card run hard in a Chinese warehouse. MSRP was $249 and the last one I bought back in the 2018 peak, I paid $349. I'm still running my cards from back then and have ROI many times over. I refuse to pay 2-3X retail to update to newer cards. If you really want to get in to mining with the current pricing and availability, which is starting to improve, I would get a 6 card motherboard setup and add cards 1-2 at a time as I could get them for close to retail. You could also just buy the coins, but I don't think we've seen the bottom of the market yet, so I would DCA in slowly.
Hmm you really have a point but at 350$ per 30 to 32MH from a rx580 8gb you will ROI in 5months and it's good that this is what OP wants to do compare to those who are just after the ROI, OP is in for a long term makes good sense to me
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will you build with 10,000$ on: July 29, 2021, 10:44:36 AM
From what OP stated it shows that he/she is ready for nothing else than crypto Mining, look at the question again cos to me it's all about what mining rig will bring ROI faster

You need to get your hands on cheaper GPUs, the cheaper the GPUs the faster you will get your ROI so look into gtx1660, rx570 and 580, gtx1060 6gb, these are the cheapest cards online right now and I would advice to divert attention to china
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you make your HODL or dump decisions? on: July 29, 2021, 09:00:40 AM
This isn't hard for me anymore because I'm able to control my greed, the reason why many lose is they failed to take profits and they are forced to hold unintentionally when losses occur, the thing is learn to take profits and always buy back when there is huge dump in the market, to find out which coin it token is worth holding is left for you.
166  Economy / Economics / Re: The first rule of investing is saving on: July 28, 2021, 12:05:10 PM
Invest only what you can afford to lose, you don't have to save a thousand dollars to start investing, worry first about your survival and use what can't hurt you if something unexpected happens for investment purposes only, if you are making 500$ per week put 40-50$ aside for investment
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone from NYC mining HNT? on: July 28, 2021, 10:38:01 AM
Earning through Helium hotspot miners depends on how many people are in your city/area using same miners in their home, the higher the numbers of hotspot miners at work the better your mining reward will be
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bear market mining on: July 28, 2021, 10:07:48 AM
I pity new miners that follows metroid kinda advice, they are mostly misleading, the best time to accumulate as a miner is bear market, don't become a crypto miner if your electricity fees are too high and don't stop mining in bear market even when your profits isn't much, remember you are simply getting more quantities of the coins you mining than what you getting in bull market, the only difference is USD value
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for good projects on: July 27, 2021, 08:33:53 AM
Take risks on projects that launched or raise fund through polkastarter, the rules that polkastarter posses is so strict that no scam project will be able to co-op with such platform ever, do your own research
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best w10 OS for mining on: July 27, 2021, 06:13:35 AM
Use hive OS and you will kiss windows OS goodbye forever, though some things are more positive on windows than mining OS but whatever that is better get a laptop for that, I used to hate mining OS until I gave it a try and I was blown away, JayDDee if there are windows 10 OS that are dedicated for mining pls drop link as this can help those that are still using w10 OS for mining
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Would you still build rigs with 4gb cards on: July 27, 2021, 05:51:34 AM
The only thing that rx470 4gb are good for right now is Ethereum Classic and Ravencoin and yes they will take longer to get your ROI back unless you get them around 100$ each
172  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Multiple addresses on 1 wallet on: July 26, 2021, 09:07:20 AM
Also you can download metamask app on your phone, connect your private key and create many Ethereum address as you like, you can do the same on trust wallet too but it's limited to a certain number but on metamask it's unlimited
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Advice needed on p106-100 on: July 26, 2021, 01:54:15 AM
Would you buy p106-100 or gtx1060 for ETH mining in 2021? If yes can you give me some reasons? The thing is these are the only cheap GPUs in my country right now, these cards are for 300$ each and after telling a friend he said 300$ is much for those GPUs
You have been waited until this time i think you can wait 1 more month. These cards are very old in my opinion 300$ for them is expensive. it is better wait another month for better prices.
On ebay p106 3g was selling for 35$ and gtx1060 6g was for 120-140$ it was just 1 year ago.
Exactly, even gtx 1660 super was around 300$ at that time which is a very good buy, if you can get one of this for 400-450$ presently they are good buy, now I prefer buying fairly used GPUs and keep mining to limit money spending and it works for me, I got couple Vega 56 & 64 days ago at 600$ simply because they are so good for Ergo
174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Tutorial] How To Access Bitcointalk using TOR Browser on: July 26, 2021, 01:46:32 AM
I don't quit get it, why would anyone want to hide to access their bitcointalk account? Is there any reason behind this because bitcointalk is just a forum for discussing anything crypto related stuff or am I wrong?
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How are you doing it? on: July 25, 2021, 06:48:23 AM
maybe buy it directly from your local retailer? is the price difference so huge that buying from overseas is cheaper for you? that's interesting. in my country, due to the taxes, the difference is probably not worth it to buy from overseas.
You guys thinks that it's same with all countries when buying gadgets? This isn't food or clothes mates, in my country a GPU that costs 200$ on Amazon is 400$, that's twice the price of the GPU and believe me this is 100% real most especially in Africa countries, you need to order for GPUs out of the country to get reasonable price
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What should I mine on: July 25, 2021, 06:42:58 AM
Everyone keeps talking about ETH going full PoS by August but something tells me this ain't going to happen until mid 2022 but anyways I only care about making my ROI back no matter how long it takes so we have Ergo and Ravencoin
I also want the POS algorithm to start working in mid-2022 or later, but there will be problems with the difficulty bomb.
In December, it will start working, and in 3 months the miners will feel its work, and more commissions will be burned.
Therefore, most likely the developers will not postpone this event for a long time.
I came across a news this morning that the upcoming Ethereum upgrades might be postponed once again due to some issues in the system presently, ha this is what I was expecting anyways moreover it's same Ethereum team we are talking about, here is the link to the news

I'm not married yet so if death comes then the crypto coins will go to waste, it's different from leaving money in the bank and the bank sitting their ass on the money for good, I lovey parents but they are too old to understand anything techy, if I already have children it would be a different case

179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: About presgrata on: June 25, 2021, 08:10:35 AM

And so many others, if you ask me this guy or whoever they are introduced the highest number of projects to promote but my main question is have any projects paid bounty hunters from this same Presgrata? .....

If you are not sure about the details of all the bounty they have introduce, if they have successfully paid any of the campaign they run, then how do you refer to the projects they introduce as hugest? what makes you classify them as highest? am just curious since it is very difficult to determine which campaign will be true to their promise at the end of the campaign, there are several recent cases where projects appears to look great and all only to disappoint hunters and bm's at the end of it all, just saying.
He or she meant highest in numbers, it's true that Presgrata introduced more bounties than every other BM I ever know within 2020 to 2021
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: About presgrata on: June 22, 2021, 05:02:15 PM
It's true that this BM brings so many new bounties since 2020 and the lists this year is alot but I don't promote any projects from him because the allocation is always too small and I've seen few promising projects from him I'm not just sure about payments
