Come to think,

With the KYC/AML reqs for so many exchanges, how would it actually be possible for the OP to obtain spendable bitcoins (for shopping/not faucets).

Is their any exchanges that would allow buying (with credit card/bank transfer) < something like 7.61 bitcoins per/month, without verification?
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone ever lost bitcoins before? on: June 07, 2016, 06:14:21 PM
How, and how much did you manage to lose?
I think that so many people have lost Bitcoins especially the people who gamble with them. I have lost 2 Bitcoins in total and I sad to my self that I would stop with gambling.

But i actually wanted to know if you did stop with the gambling?

Please don't and never deal with him until he sorts out my issue.
Paid him for hosting and site design. He used free hosting and free hosting database MySQL now my site is down for good six days.

Sent him pm he never replies not even email. Here is the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1486194.new#new

He even gave me negative feedback for coming here to talk after I paid him more than he charged on my work.
Let him give me login details of my database I have paid somewhere else to have it hosted but he is never helping matters.

Never deal with him else you will a very sad experience. I will update if this issue is sorted. Thanks.
Well that's cheating. You should get your refunds back .Start a scam accusation against him.Using free services for hosting plans and fooling users is blatant scam.

I hereby declare please don't work for the OP as you will not be paid for the job or will be asked to work for encouraging scams.Use a escrow while dealing with the user.

Thanks. He never told me it's free hosting. But still I ignored it. I paid him with btc. I have really gotten paid hosting services for site host and MySQL database host. I just need him to release details for me to transfer my site files that's all. He is ignoring me. I will wait to see his next action then I will open an detailed scam thread.

Such a shame. I will never understand why people do this.

It would have been nice helping the OP out.

Just to clarify a bit... so a donation is or is not purchasing the node? Sorry, just a little confused on what the donation is.
A donation is NOT purchasing the node. If you donate it will help lower the cost of the node for someone else who applies for it. Eg. A $100 donation would lower the cost of the node by $4 for 25 people.
All donations are pooled together at the end of the month. If we get a good amount of donations, we would be giving away nodes for little to no cost.

Great project.

Is there a way to access/extend the RPC command from the nude, for example, using serial communication?
Also, would there be 1TB prune supported devices with this feature ^ (later in the future), I could see larger companies using them various purposes.
You are able to SSH into the node on a local connection. I'm using the Android app ConnectBot on one of our test units.
Support for harddrives should arrive soon so you should be able to run nodes on a 1TB drives in the future.

Well, that's perfect.

I truly have nothing else on my wish list.

We'll support you guys however we can.

Lacks the UI to keep the users hooked for a good amount of time. The model is basic and working that is okay but you need to improve the game in terms of animations and user experience in order to provide that game experience.I know people will play here just for earning coins but getting them hooked with a dull UI is sort of a trouble.Next thing you need to watch out for is the google's terms and conditions.Several bitcoin games have been blocked before.

Thanks for the comment Joel, I really appreciate them Wink

I actually thought this was going to be a mobile App (Which would have made the UI complex to design), but more people are actually in favor of a HTML Web APP, so luckily we don't have to deal with Google.

For now, I don't wont to go on, on how the Web versions UI\UX will blow your mind (you probably wont believe me Wink, after seeing the mobile UI) but believe me, it'll be unrecognizable!

Hi @yhansky and @yayayo its good to see some people taking more actions and precautions for the future Smiley
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone ever lost bitcoins before? on: June 05, 2016, 09:39:46 PM
While exchanging or trading, there are several users who keep losing their bitcoins as they get scammed. I myself lost 0.15 BTC due to a fraudster and 0.03 BTC for a task that I completed in December. I fortunately never invested in ay project/hyip/gambling website to lose more coins.

Aaaw. That's a good moving not taking anymore risks, it could have been worse and much more severe!
249  Economy / Services / Re: IDEA -- Automated sig camp join tool - account renting, no need to lookup sigs on: June 05, 2016, 08:44:19 PM
Because of the login system which you mentioned above, we won't require users to entrust us with their login detail. Instead, we would bypass the whole system totally, so the user would only need to give us their cookie_id which is already logged_in. So with this method, even if we did get hacked *hypothetically* the hacker wouldn't be able to change account settings such as password, email...
AFAIK cookies can't really be revoked without the admins going into the server and deleting all of the cookies, so that is an issue. If you were to be hacked, the attacker could pretend to be that person even if the user changed passwords. At the very least it would be a nuisance and at worst, the attacker could use high ranking and potentially positive trust accounts to scam others.

It would be a lot easier if Bitcointalk had something like OAuth 2.0

That would be an issue if we were to be hacked. It would be an issue if any service (coinbase, btc-e, xapo, coindesk) were to be hacked, we understand the important of following fully strict security procedures.

The important thing (once the security procedures are taken care of), is that we've been able to work together, to find a suitable solution, which would actually allow automating signature campaigns.

Bitcointalk is merely a clean, default install of SMF forum, as you already know. It would be easier if it did have it, but I wouldn't hold my breath for an OAuth 2.0 API to come out anytime ever Wink

I absolutely despise PewDiePie's content.

He's probably the only famous YouTuber that i don't watch.

It's been exciting & sad to read some of the stories here. I expect people to have lost some minimal bitcoins, but some of the values I'm seeing here is just unbelievable!

Hopefully everyone that did lose coins, managed to recover from it.

Interesting concept, what the house edge? well i'll play your game once you have the web version ready. also you need to advance/improve the visuals.

Thanks lite for also taking an interest Wink

Since you're playing another player, it would always be 50/50 chance of either player winning.
For the game itself, since there's 4 cards, and 1 right answer, you have 25% chance of picking the right answer, throughout the 5 rounds.

Ahh for the visuals, its actually way easier to do this on the web. I'm just happy more people want this version, because it would be epic.
If there's no house edge involved then how will you make money/manage the website/app. will you be paying for servers out of your own pocket?

Hi lite thanks for the question Wink

We charge a 10% fee to the winner (if there's one) from there, 5% should be deducted as donations, 1% every week would be used as a jackpot ... So on and so forth.

Hopefully I answered your question and didn't confuse you?
253  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★Find the coin★ | multiplayer | gambling game on: June 05, 2016, 07:15:26 PM
One problem is that your game is not provably fair. The owner could pretend both players lost and bank the money, so unless you build a provably fair implementation into it the owner will have to demonstrate their trustworthiness in order to attract players.

Also I would recommend you build it as a mobile friendly web app instead, as few people will be willing to install a game like this. An advantage of that is that people could still play from a computer or non-android phone. Also you are already building the server-side stuff in PHP, so why not the client too, it will avoid some complexity.

Hi greyhawk,

Thanks for the help, I think someone also asked about this above.

Before the game starts, we'll show some hash values, with a hashed salt, on a display, which would prove the position of the coin in each box, for each round. and then release the unhashed salt, to prove it equals to its hashed value ...

For this project, I'm aiming at developing an interesting, fun, pvp game, which is absolutely transparent. So any other way/suggestion to make this happen would be absolutely great!

Concept is good but the only problem i am seeing is you need to have lots of players online so that whenver anyone comes to play he will get other competitor players. Game looks simple in screenshot and your explanation but i am not willing to download any app as my mobile have bitcoin wallet in it.

Hi mobnepal,

This is a common response and personal preference I've been hearing. I guess i'll follow up on that and only release a version for the web, which can be played on all platforms.

Thanks for your opinion, I really appreciate them.
256  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★Find the coin★ | multiplayer | gambling game on: June 05, 2016, 06:44:06 PM
The game you made is interesting but for me its boring to play why don't you try to copy the concept in bitplay before they are running those games as bitcoin.. now they are updating it back in cash usd..
Jus like of their games before is flappy coin this is like a game of flappy bird but the difference is while you are flappy the bird the more you score you get the more you chance you will win in 4 contestant..
Or also you try the other concept of the game which is bitcoin hopper https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuTAp-6M8mk
4 contestant will be match if who has high score in the contest he will get the all pot bet by the other enemy..

Hi Blitzboy  I love the reply, and i absolutely understand your point of view.

The reason why would be unable to provide a services such as they one above, would be, because it would be easy to build a robot that would play the game, or simply submit fake scores - which would be bad for other players in the game. This is why I've been focusing on turn based games, things like snakes and ladders, chess, checkers.
257  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★Find the coin★ | multiplayer | gambling game on: June 05, 2016, 05:33:39 PM
You should give us a bit more info but I like that idea. I would rather lose to a player then the house anytime. Its a good idea it breaths fresh air and life into the gambling scene. Hopefully this becomes popular. Good luck.

Hi Jason thanks for the support.

I didn't want to bombard anyone with too much info, but if you do want more, tell me the sort of information so i can answer all of them at once Wink

We feel the same way as well, it does suck to losing to house.
258  Economy / Gambling / Re: PvP | Android | Multiplayer game | Project | Need suggestions & tips on: June 05, 2016, 05:28:32 PM
How much can you stake and will you add a faucet ?

I don't think i would be following-up on this project as it was initially too confusing for people to grasp how to play the game. Instead I've simplified it in this second iteration.

On the second iteration: I'm not sure why we would add faucets, be we would have a weekly jackpot of money users can play against each other for.

I like the concept of the new game and the implementation of P2P gaming in this game instead of just gambling against a traditional house.

However, my question is that will this project be a web based gambling game, or rather an Android based gambling game? Do we have to install the app to play?

Hi herman, the project will actually be both. Because some users might feel more comfortable using one method over the other, so the best option would be to have it available on the and phone.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Quantum computer on: June 05, 2016, 12:52:35 PM
In case of quantum computing, if it ever becomes viable at cracking 256-bit encryption, bitcoin can easily switch to a different encryption or multi-layered encryption method.

You do realise that Bitcoin doesn't use encryption?

it support encryption for wallet

The OP is talking about obtaining private keys from the blockchain via brute force.

Adding a password or having a password free wallet has nothing to do with this topic or this context. Those are personal preferences.
