241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - New Update 0.6.42 - Please Update Your Nodes on: July 24, 2015, 07:10:47 PM
This has been my experience. And consider we are holding 2 NEM stakes with us (so far). So, if I'm doing this, it's really because I don't think it always a matter of money, but I believe sometimes is a matter of fairness.

Let me get the facts straight:

  • You've registered 4 stakes, although it was clearly stated, one can register 2
  • The other accounts have 1 post each (I won't comment on that)
  • You've received 2 stakes
  • now you're complaining, cause you got caught...

I call that impertinency, welcome to my ignore list

Let me rectify your inferences:

- WE have registered 4 stakes. 4 different individuals that live under the same roof, and that, consequence of that, share same Internet connection.

- I've got the other 3 housemate involved because of NEM, when even me was pretty new on Crypto. They have to register to BTC Talks to get a stake. They really didn't care about BTC Talk forum. And still don't. WE checked periodically from one computer, together. No need to post anything if you don't really need to ask, isn't it
I DIDN'T FIND ANYWHERE IN THE RULE BOOK REGARDING BEING AN ACTIVE MEMBER WITH AT LEST 10000000000 POSTS DONE WHEN DISTRIBUTION WILL COME....  Cheesy So good call when you say "I won't comment on that"  +1 for you

- We have received 2 stakes, but we paid for 4. All our stakes required money, we weren't in the first pages were Stakes were free. wouldn't you complain for true ?

- Now I'm complaining, yes, because we didn't break any rules at the time, when  I decided to get other people involved in NEM, since NEM needed more people involved at the time, according to the developer. I'm talking about the smart one.
I had to lend the other 3 guys some BTC and NXT to let them buy Stakes, because they were brand new on Cryptos.
Now i have 3 mates that are thinking I cheated them. And they will never believe in Crypto anymore.
So no stakes, no money back. And that wasn't stated in the rule book at the time. We didn't break any rules when we decided to go in together.
RULES IN THE 1ST REGISTRATION POST SHOULD HAVE SAID something like:" IT WILL BE TOTALLY UP TO DEVS if GIVING OR NOT STAKES TO ANYONE LEGITIMATELY BOUGHT A RESERVATION. THIS WILL BE DONE ACCORDING TO RULES THAT DON'T EXIST YET."
In that case, fair enough...  Grin

Btw, following your provocation, I would call your behaviour dullness. Welcome to my pointless list.  Roll Eyes

But thanks to worry so much about my case anyway.

I just cannot see 4 people living together and all sharing a computer. I believe they were right to limit you to 2 stakes. Its more then fair I only got 1 stake so I mean youve already doubled me.

Some nice activity on poloniex. Things are looking up.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - New Update 0.6.42 - Please Update Your Nodes on: July 24, 2015, 05:01:44 PM
To all those who are complaining not having received a stake due to being marked as socks:

We had more then 2800 people who wanted a stake. I think everyone agrees that among those people there were many socks. So we had to act.
When deciding who will get a stake a who not, we had to find a compromise between being too lenient and too strict, the former leading to many socks getting a stake which is unfair to the ones that complied to the rules and the latter leading to many non socks getting no stake which is again unfair for obvious reasons.

But no matter how much effort our team put into the analysis, having so many cases which are unclear always results in some cases where a sock gets a stake and some cases where a non sock doesn't get a stake. Any other team would have faced the same problems. So if you didn't get your stake although you deserved one I am sorry for that, we could not avoid some misjudgements during the cleaning process. I do understand that in this case you are dissappointed/frustrated/angry. But that's life and there will never be 100% fairness anywhere. The decisions we made are final. I think the vast majority of the community will agree that we have to move on.

+1 I am very happy with the results. I do believe these people complaining about being labeled socks are in fact socks everything points to that.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - New Update 0.6.42 - Please Update Your Nodes on: July 24, 2015, 12:11:36 PM
Just to let you people know:

The problem CECVW faced was due to using a very old testnet version of the NEM software.
All his private keys are valid and he can access his stakes once he installs the current version 0.6.42.

That's clearly the devs fault. This is a fucking SCAM !

patmast3r Can I suggested to keep quiet and behave in a professional manner like BloodyRookie.

Thanks BloodyRookie  I am travelling now I will check when I come home.

You mean like you did when you threw around threats and baseless accusations ? You can suggest it but I have a feeling it's not gonna go anywhere.
Also, still looking forward to sunday. I hope you're gonna deliver ?

baseless accusations, you are pushing your luck Smiley

I suggest to stop this here as you don't know what I know

Im pretty sure you dont know anything harmful.

@CECVW:
So to summarize, there are 3 accounts that got 1 stake each but you are unable to access them. It seems unlikely to me that you wrote down a wrong private key for each of them.
Did you write those keys down by hand or copy/paste them into a text file?

 I will say it again.

this link https://forum.nemcoin.com/?topic=2488.0 NEM redemption starts now-page 1 after getting the private key I tested to confirm the address belong to the correct private and public key and was successful the 3 of them. They should have not deleted that link.

3 accounts? Are you admitting to being a sockpuppet?

I will say again of all the thousands of users your the only 1. You definitely made a mistake somewhere.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread -100% Original Codebase - Over 70 Active Team Members on: July 23, 2015, 11:01:24 AM
Please can I ask someone of the member to re-post this link https://forum.nemcoin.com/?topic=2488.0 NEM redemption starts now-page 1 where  I was given the right private key with my address and now its given me a new address with the same private address in the wallet with 0 NEM, when I did the checked in the past in that link it said it was correct when I did the verification test.

I will write a post on Sunday in bitcointalk, my patient has a limit and after emailing makoto for 4 months with very poor messages to me and contradicting  information. I will expose all I know.  Accusing people of Socks for having 3 stakes just to takes those stakes for themselves to accumulate more and more. to my eyes this is a scam in big magnitude and I will prove it on Sunday. You can delete this post and I will paste it on Sunday. Two years following this coin, protecting it and talking good about it to end up with 0 NEM and the team having more than 30 stakes and more. They will not be able to delete any post on Sunday as I will run it and everybody will be able to explain their cases since the start of NEM. Enough is  enough....... NEM's core principles of fairness and equality ? No!

You have way to many posts to have been flagged as sockpuppet. Any chance you're talking about another account ?

Yes Blas, see my post to makoto that I have been chasing for month and month and I was given always poor contradicting answers  and always waiting for ages for each answer!

MY NEM STORY

Hello Makoto,

I hope you are well and I guess by now you know me very well from my emails from NEM forum.

Please see below the reminder of my NEM History Genuine decent claim:

I am Blas in btt, my brother is rtzdlr in btt and my brother wife is pimanver

I had two accounts Blas and CECVW with NEM, the one with CECVW I sold it as I lost my job at that time and needed money till I found a new job. Now I have a new job.

Below are mine and family NEM

Blas:  NCQHOY-CAPNEJ-BVVQ7B-ATLU4R-2ITSEW-M3VNIJ-4574

rtzdlr: NB3GWV-7FYKL7-KXMFFW-QUNRVP-K2NZCG-3NVJQQ-ZMKD

pimanver: NBYSKW-PKJIL4-6URH3Q-NU4XUQ-R2VIU6-MNETDR-KQE4

You know back in January last year when NEM was announced to get stake for free I phoned my brother in Spain to get one and he did one for him (rtzdlr) and one for his wife (pimanver) when it was free to get on  the first few pages. I swear this is the true. You can check the ip address of pimanver and rtzdlr was created by my brother in Spain. Now later on my brother asked to carry on witth the process for him and gave me his account details as he does not speak English and I did all the process for him till the end, I die now if I am lying.

With all my best wishes

Blas''

Now all these private keys were created in that link that does not exist anymore and the verification test said it was correct!

Below are the last messages I received from Makoto:

Both of those stakes were sent out on 6/25.

NOW THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS ON JUNE 29 SAID TO SEND HIM A PM WITH MY NEM ADDRESS TO HE CAN SEND ME THE NEM AND ON 16 JULY HE SAID HE SENT IT 25 JUNE! ha...29 june I did not have it and then I had them 25 june.  You have been messing up with me and I will not tolerate this and more I will expose on Sunday, you can not play with people like this that all has done is talk good till now about you till all this sh*t happened to me

Sounds like he didn't read your first PM very carefully and then when you sent him PMs from the actual accounts in question he checked the list and noticed that those had already been sent out. That's not really contradicting.

But now to the good part. Those stakes were sent out. The addresses mentioned all contain exactly one stake if you look at the blockchain.

The only thing that is OUTRAGEOUS is your behaviour. Maybe first make sure you're looking at the correct accounts before spreading completely false accusations ?

Will see which behaviour is outrageous on Sunday I have compromising information can destroy NEM in one second. This is only the tip of the Iceberg

If it's as accurate and compromising as your last accusation you'll have to excuse my not losing sleep over it.

You are only showing arrogance here, I am fighting  for my rights and you don't make the slightest effort to give the NEM to their legimitates owners, I said but you don't read like makoto you are just so focus in people not getting their stakes so you can accumulate more! I said and I say again when I did the process I was given the right privates keys with thoses addresses and I verified and it was correct in that page that does not exist anymore! Then and I say this again when I did the last part in the NEM wallet and did it with the private keys given  in that process then it created different addresses in the wallet. I am asking what is mine and I did all correctly, you don't want to listen and accumulate more NEM from other people.

Do you not understand that the address YOU registered have been given their rightfull NEM ? You have appearantly fucked up at saving your private-keys. That's noones fault except your own.

If the client would create different addresses for the same private-keys then how come it worked for everyone else ?

Be angry all you want. It's your fault.

You are not listening again, I said and I said again that link that does not exist anymore verified my private keys as correct.  You are so closed minded and not trying to resolve anything. See you on Sunday. We will see who wins, I bet we will both lose

The beta client checked private-keys. You pasted priv-, pub-key and address into the client and it told you if it was correct. Is that what you mean ?
If the client told you they are correct before launch they would be correct after launch.

There is nothing to resolve as the addresses got their stakes. The fact that you can't manage to access them is - again - noones fault except your own.

If you trust me enough you can send me your private-key to verify you are really doing nothing wrong (what's the worst that could happen at this point ?). We had plenty of people using the correct private-key still complaining about 0 XEM because they we're doing something wrong.

Yup I had the same problem, turns out I wrote the private key down wrong but luckily I remembered that I took a picture of the private key on my phone and that fixed it. You are literally the only one so why assume the software is broken? Most likely user error.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread -100% Original Codebase - Over 70 Active Team Members on: July 23, 2015, 02:04:52 AM
perhaps you may spending energy in different way and  help me with my NEM wallet under win64 problem in vbox which can's start NCC, NIS is working (booted) but NCC not.
Would appreciate some guide

When checking   state in webbrowser it displays:  NIS_ILLEGAL_STATE_LOADING_CHAIN

Its just my guess and I'm not so good at these tech things, but I think it means your database is corrupt.

If so here is how I would fix it.  First, always make sure you have your private keys backed up, and then secondly your wallet.  Go to C:\Users\%user name%\nem\nis and delete the database in that folder (or you can just delete the whole NIS folder. no big deal).  Then restart and sync a chain from scratch and see if that works.

Thanks for your reply.

In fact I havent backed up any priv keys - I assume you can do it onl;y wehen logged to wallet. I found two files  .adb ad .wlt  in nem directory are one of them my priv keys?

If you are an original stakeholder then you should have a private key since you must have added the account which holds your nem.
If you only bought nem on an exchange and created a new wallet you can let ncc display the private key via the menu command "View Acccount Details" and then click on "Show Account's Private Key".
Another way is to back up your wallet either manually by backing up the 2 files you found in the nem directory or using the menu command "Export Wallet" on the right side menu.

I am an original stakeholder and I original stakeholder. But I still not get my coins. Why?

I would say due to the low activity and the fact your account was created on the same day you signed up for nem that you are most likely deemed a sock. Not to mention the quality of your first 3 posts are suspect they are useless and no one would have made an account on btt for that you just wanted activity before posting in nem to get in on the distribution.

Recent News Roundup #3

It has been 3 weeks since my last update here and I have a lot to mention as always.

Of course the big news of late, if anybody has missed it, is Makoto’s announcement that he is quitting his job and going to work for full time on a project being built on NEM. The exact details of this project and the funding are still not open. As a part of the VC funding process Makoto has signed an agreement not to speak about it. I can assure everyone that I have spoken with the main devs about this and Makoto on a video conference and this is indeed a very serious project and the entire NEM team is working intensely behind the scenes bringing things together. As time goes by, there might be more information concerning this project that is released, but expect it to still be limited.

The devs have been working hard behind the scenes. The last mainnet version 0.6.31 was released on May 26th and since then they have made up 11 more testnet versions, and luckily today they have released 0.6.42. It has lots of nice improvements including editable M of N. To my knowledge (but not confirmed) NEM is the first blockchain that has made this happen on a live net. This means that you can now change your M at any point, you can add signers, or you can remove signers. This is a big step up from what the crypto world has been used to where they have one chance to make a multisig account and any changes mean making a new one and transferring all the funds. This is another first for NEM in blockchain technology, a pretty big one at that, and with many more planned to come!

Stay tuned for more developments and announcements about NEM’s asset program named Mosiacs.  It will be called Mosiacs as it will allow collections of smart tiles (assets). And along with it we will see Namespaces being integrated.  Namespaces will be the naming system in NEM.  I would like to say that I personally have high expectations from the devs considering the quality of work they have already put out and am personally expecting no less than the best naming system and best asset system on a blockchain.

There are a other little improvements and bug fixes in this version. Exporting and then importing wallets should work now. And some of you might have already found that your NEM clients have had a message pushed to them telling them an update is available. This version of NEM also includes a new ability to sign using a token; a feature where you can enter a string of data and get a hash that can then be used to sign.  This is useful in a proof-of-existence use case proving that a certain account was in control of a certain string of data/document at a moment time stamped on the blockchain. Activating and Deactivating Delegated Harvesting via multisig is now also up and working.

Updates for 0.6.42 can be found by visiting http://nem.io/install.html and feedback can be given here if you have suggestions.

Because new features were added to NEM in this release, NEM will be undergoing its first hard fork starting at block 199,800. It is important to update your NIS nodes before then. That will be in approximately 4 weeks so you will have plenty of time.

In other news Colin took a break from working on NCC to explore a new entropy program which proves very interesting and could possibly one day be built on NEM or other blockchains. Such a program could help with security issues, which NEM has already been great at addressing, or possibly add privacy protection in transactions. While that is going on, he has now stated that he is planning on focusing some of his time back on NCC to help us again.

In the last news roundup I asked for people that would be willing to work on a faucet or willing to work on video tutorials and I am happy that two people expressed possible interest in building a faucet. I found that Kodtycoon is currently in possession of the nemfaucet.com address. Now we are trying to find a way to host it so development might possibly begin.

Also, I’m happy to report that work has been started by Xpedite and Kodtycoon on video tutorials on how to get NEM started, and how to work our new M of N multisig. Shawn has agreed to do voice overs, Microve has made a jingle intro, and Mixmaster will mix it all up!

Great news about sock puppets and late redemptions. They are all processed and the last batch is waiting to be sent out in a few days. After that it is the NEM team’s plan to move forward with dividing up the remainder of the Sustainability Fund into its sub funds of NIS Node Rewards, Silver Coins, Community Fund, Mobile Application and NCC Development, NEM Sustainable Ecosystem Loop Fund (NEMSELF), Unconventional Marketing, and Operational Costs Fund II. Which will bring us closer to a new and exciting phase of NEM development. Priorities will need to be set, budgets made, and the processes for moving forward in each of these funds finalized.

Makoto continues to travel and do presentations. Just recently attending a hackathon and doing his first presentation 1 hour presentation in only English instead of Japanese.

For the last three weeks, Mixmaster and I have been working on making a report to the mobile app devs for a UI upgrade for our iOS mobile app.  It had its basic features and functions working but wasn’t very aesthetically pleasing.  We have sent the report and are waiting for upgrades before we start the public testing of the app on the testnet.  In the mean time here are a few screenshots of the app as it was pre-redesign. Mill0601 this is for you.  Smiley

Xtester has decided to take a break from crypto for a while. We appreciate his work and hope that he does well in his future endeavors. That leaves us with a problem though since he is in control of our thread. Xtester and I have both sent PM’s to Theymos to have him switch the thread to the control of the user name “ournem” but Theymos has not replied. Please feel free to tweet him @theymos. This is his Twitter. https://twitter.com/theymos Please do also send him a PM on BTT asking him to change the NEM thread from “Xtester” to “ournem” as both of those accounts have sent him a PM making the request. We have found out that Theymos gets a lot of messages and is a bit hard to get a hold of and will sometimes miss a message or 5, but hopefully he will not miss 50.

Lastly, as always, we need lots of help. If you can help make NEM a better platform and would like to be a part of our team, I am inviting you. Please send me a PM and I can add you to Trello, Telegram, and or Slack.

Thank you

You know damn well there are no 70 active members and never have been.
Counting the people registered on Telegram as "active members" is like saying the people who post in this thread are active members.
70 people in the telegram group? Man that is long ago. I cant even remember the time we hade below 100. Well, it has nothing to do with the "70 active" wording anyway. Just wanted to clear that up. Makoto cleared it up already.

I don't care you call the Telegramm group 'Team member' or not. But if everyone on telegram got 20mil i call it a scam! So Please tell me how much xem they got.

Look at all the top richest xem wallets the top 60 are all 20+ mill and the only transaction in them was the initial distribution in which they got over 20 million each instead of 2.25 million.

bla bla

Welcome back taunsew  Wink

Yeah, I've been getting a very TS vibe from JBC....

For the rest, I'll give you ladies the same advice as NXT gets: if you think the dev/marketing/whatever team is not getting stuff done fast enough, help them out.
If you think you can do better (or just add something extra)  there is nothing to stop you from stepping up and doing it yourself.

This is some of the most sensible advice I've seen on BTT Cheesy

the difference being your "devs" got 20+ million xem each to work on the project which they are not doing so you expect the community to take on the tasks for free. You need to justify to us why these people were worth the 20+ million xem they received and maybe you need to start taking some of those coins back due to the lack of work they are doing.

You just dont get it Makoto we would not be having these conversations if you didn't hold half of all the coins. You have an obligation one of such has been outlined by you which is a development fund.

Please post a picture of the app I dont care what state of development its in I iust dont believe it exhists. What benefit is there to lieing to the community? Prove me weong I would be incredibly happy to eat my words As I have 5k invested in xem.

You guys should set up and run a NEM faucet for newbies to test the coin. Otherwise the coin keeps and exclusive club for first stakeholders.

We have a webpage nemfaucet.com and we are just waiting for somebody to step up and build it.  Right now our devs are working are projects that are much more complicated.

If you or anybody else would like to help build this site, I will help charge it.

Please PM and I will add you to the Trello card.

In the meantime if you join Slack, we have a tipbot there that can give newbies some XEM to test their wallet.

https://nemslack.herokuapp.com/

At the end of next week I will have some time, so if you send me the login details I will install a faucet script.

I'll try to dig up more information on that site and contact the owner.

I would be happy to send any harvested NEM's to the way of the faucet to help get it off the ground.

We are still in the %&^@# redemption phase?Huh haha 54 sats today, and going nowhere.

Faucets are an old fad. We need marketing and use and something fresh. We currently are 0/3.

Your welcome to join Trello by sending me a PM, just like you, I have waaaaaaay more marketing ideas than i have time or energy.  I would love to start giving people assignments.

I dont understand why these tasks are not being handed out to the 70+ active team members. Yous all got 20+ million xem please show your worth. We had to buy ours. I have only seen 3 active members so if the others are not real are all those accounts your 3's sock puppets? Dont get me wrong im a supporter of the coin and infrastructure but I currently do not enjoy the lack of transparency it comes off very sketchy.

i still have high hopes for NEM
and it stay paort of my crypto portfolio
the rest is mostly high POS coins
(logical DMD Diamon is the main investment)

what i miss abot NEM is that holding is less rewarding than on my other investments

i dont wana be forced to daytrade (and NEM have not enough volume for good daytrading anyway)

how about increase the incentive for running a harvesting node?

I agree with everything said here.

"They're not delivering"

- GitHub updated daily
- M of N on Testnet and working flawless
- Launched 3 months ago and best performing release of 2015.
- Technical PDF released
- No unintentional forks or documentable thefts yet
-Makoto going to conventions and making presentations (he is public - go ask Roger Ver, Dr. Gavin Wood and David Jerry)
- Released photos of the mobile app on telegram / slack, noting that UI is being worked on.

Could you please post the app pictures here?

Can you just shut up about the damn app pics?Huh? Roll Eyes
No, if it really exhists please just post a pic otherwise its a smoke show. I am a potential investor but currently the future for nem looks poor.

Can you just shut up about your app pic? Just be patient. I'm more interested about what exactly happened at the presentation that Makoto gave today.

I certainly could but im not going to. I simply dont believe it's real.

Could we please get some app pics? Or the apk so we can test ourselves?

It is scary that all of our "trolling" forecasts for this coin have come true.  Roll Eyes Cheesy

I was never trolling as they were all my honest opinion and observations. Also app photos?HuhHuhHuh If it exhists why not post just 1 photo.
