241  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 3 Gh/s USB ASIC Miner 9 Block Erupters, 1 Hub, 1 Fan on: August 31, 2013, 10:34:49 PM
Will you accept 1.75 BTC Priority Shipped to California?

Also the fan and hub are included correct?

1.75 BTC is a little low. I understand with the surge in bitcoin price the last couple days that 3 BTC is a little high so I'll drop my asking price to 2.5 BTC. And that does include the hub and fan.

sorry, at that price, there's no ROI.

247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just started, don't think my Mhash/s Speed is where it should be? on: August 20, 2013, 05:15:48 AM
I tried mining with my GT 630M graphics card, and i had a pretty similar hash rate (15 MH/s or so). Maybe this type of graphics card is totally not adapted to mining ? If you mine on a laptop, you should know that it will never be worth it, even on a decent computer you can't expect to make money... Mining is now reserved to those who can afford ASICminers. Even altcoins mining does not seem really profitable.

Hope I could help Wink
pie3636

I just discovered Bitcoin mining earlier today. I was wanting to dabble into it, nothing serious, as I only have a laptop.

I am using a GT730M graphics card in my laptop for my mining. But it is only giving me 20.5 Mhash/s. My friend has a 7850 graphics card and has a speed of 250 Mhash/s. I highly doubt that his card is over 12x faster than mine. Unless there is something I am not understanding?

If it matters, I am in Slush's Pool. Using GUIMiner. With 1 worker on the GPU.

Thank you! I hope I can learn some more.

So you both know:

First NVIDIA GPUs are extremely inefficient when it comes to mining. Also Laptop GPUs are of course more underpowered than desktop GPUs.

Basically the GPUs you have are not worth it to mine with. If you really want to mine the I would say spend .3 bitcoin to get a block erupter ASIC off of someone here on the forums.

But be warned: even with the seemingly low price of .3 bitcoin, with the Bitcoin difficulty going up and up and up, these are not likely to make any Return on Investment (ROI).

You should only get one if you just want to participate in mining, purely as a hobby.

Good luck to you both, and welcome!!

255  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Grand Opening of BitcoinLabels.com (print USPS shipping labels using Bitcoin) on: August 19, 2013, 10:53:43 PM
Hmm might I make a suggestion?

When someone asks me for a shipping quote to (fill-in-the-blank-country), I don't know their address. Is it possible to get a label quote using just my country and theirs?
Yes I will implement that feature. I see how that could save time in quickly determining shipping costs up front.

EXCELLENT!

Shipping to Hong Kong,how much?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=273648.0 i have tested with this BitcoinLabels, it says for 3oz to hongkong is about 0.1BTC

How many can I put you down for?
259  Economy / Goods / Re: [GROUP BUY] of 0.5BTC Casascius Coins on: August 15, 2013, 06:34:11 PM
jjust dump dummy data into your own field and etc

Hmm, when I do that it comes up with an error. Says "No data received".

Either way that shipping price sounds right so I will honor it if it is more expensive, and I will discount it should it turn out to be less expensive.

I'm not trying to cheat anyone on shipping. That's one of my pet peeves....  Sad

That sounds about right. Just curious how did you test this with BitcoinLabels.com?

I went to the site, and it requires that I put in a whole address for the recipient, not just a country.

Is there a way to get a quote from them with just knowing the destination country?
