Hey brothers! So now we're waiting till BAKKT runs out of BTC they have in their initial stash? Mmmmkey...  Cool

Yup. We have time. We had been waiting only 3 years for famous Gemini exchnage to have some impact. It can happen anytime.
2403  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet..Paypal..No Bank Account on: September 22, 2019, 06:04:19 PM
Just spend them? Buy a tv? Etc..soubds good...but how do I spend them?  No cards? Are any of you paying attention to what Om asking? I mean tell me how to SPEND the Bitcoins?

I dont know what you need to buy. If you need to buy a computer or an iphone  you find a store taht sells tech fro Bitcoin. If you need to buy a bed or a wardrobe you find a store that sells furniture fo bitcoin. itcoin is money.
2404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: OkEx Korea removes all privacy coins on: September 22, 2019, 03:36:04 PM
I think the KYC rules apply on customeraccount level and the FATF travel rule applies on transaction level.

LOL

Transaction level?  The exchange totaly know where they sent coins. They have view key. FATF travel rule is about person informations not about transaction. Just read it.  Exchange customer that is KYCed clearly know where to whome he sent his coins and who send them to him and can normal tell that to anyone that is curious about it.
2405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FATF travel rule and privacy coins on: September 22, 2019, 03:22:35 PM
The travel rule requires that cryptocurrency exchanges collect and record customer information related to cryptocurrency transactions. The information includes the transaction originator’s name, account number and location, as well as the recipient’s name and account number.

Since they cannot properly collect data on privacy coin transaction, they would rather delist it.

Why they cant colect their customers name, account number and location, as well as the recipient’s name and account number?  If they KYCed properly all their customers they have all this informations.
2406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS Governance. What could be done here? on: September 22, 2019, 12:36:53 AM
As you may know, the EOS block producers are concentrated in China and many are exchanges.
Share your thoughts, constructive comments please Tongue

Why I thought that exchanges in China are rare. So they are not? Which exchanges are this EOS block producers?
2407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No trading volume is same as dead coin on: September 22, 2019, 12:12:11 AM
Are coins and tokens that have good value like 0.02 or even 0.2cent on exchanges with no volume the same bad news as coins that haven't made it to an exchange yet? what do you guys have to say about this? i am currently holding two different tokens with good value but no trading volume, any hope for such projects?

If noone is there to buy them there is no value and not a godo value.

Coins are not dead if they are of no value. Coins are dead when nooen mine them anymore so transactions cant happen anymore. That does happen if they have no value but not always.
2408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bakkt is coming: will this be biggest crypto week ever and set off bull run? on: September 21, 2019, 08:34:19 PM
Bakkt is coming: will this be biggest crypto week ever and set off bull run?

Whole 2013, 2014 and most of 2015 Gemini was praised to change everything. Winklevoss  twins that invented facebook will make a magic exchange that will bring Bitcoin to everyone. Wall street, banks, corporations. Everywhere.   Long three years of hype. And what happened at end? Nothing in 2015. Nothing in 2016. Nothing in 2017. Nothing in 2018. and you guessed right nothing in 2019.
2409  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining in 2019 on: September 20, 2019, 10:27:52 PM
Hey guys i'm wondering if it pays off to mine cryptocurrencies nowadays. And if it does how much time does it take to pay off equipment and electricity.
Isn't it simpler if you trade cryptocurrencies instead of mining them?

The simplest is if you work or get money from I dont know where and you buy them. All you have to do is to properly secure them.   If you plan to trade you will lose all sooner or latter.   For mining check miners part of forum, there is a lot informations for you. For sure it is longer procedure. But if you like playing with hardware you will love it.
2410  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet..Paypal..No Bank Account on: September 20, 2019, 09:59:42 PM
If you have bitcoins just spend them or exchange for money you use. For sure soemoen will need them. We have ruff times ahead.  But best is just spend them. When you need new TV buy it with Bitcoin. Bitcoin is money.
2411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Time to Sell Altcoins on: September 20, 2019, 05:57:18 PM

Government-issued cryptocurrencies...Are they the Future?

If they will be opensource and fully decentralized, then dont matter who start/issue them. Question is why would they do that since such allready exist. Why not help develop existing one?
2413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: OkEx Korea removes all privacy coins on: September 20, 2019, 03:51:28 PM
Five privacy coins including monero, dash, zcash, horizen and super bitcoin are to be delisted from the exchange. Apparently the Korean government has asked crypto exchanges to implement the FATF guidelines which include the travel rule.

It will be interesting to see if exchanges choose to implement TRISA which is CipherTrace's solution to the FATF policy rather than delisting them.

What are your thoughts on this topic?

https://tokenpost.com/Crypto-exchange-OKEx-Korea-to-remove-all-privacy-coins-including-monero-dash-zcash-over-FATFs-travel-rule-3443

Thoughts are simple. OKEx Korea know everyone on their exchange, since they KYCed themself. So they know who deposited every coin on the exchange as who withdraw coins from that exchange. That is what FATF policy is all about. In FATF policy there is no reason for delisting any coin. There are just reasons for them to focus more in KYCing their customers.
It seems true but why okex has said like this

Quote
In its notice, OKEX Korea said it will delist cryptocurrencies that “violate laws or regulations [and] policies of government agencies and major agencies.”

Specifically, in this case, it cited the “travel rule” recommendation to national regulators from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) as the reason for pulling the five coins.
https://www.coindesk.com/okex-korea-drops-5-privacy-coins-citing-fatf-rules

But this will be only implemented in the okex's Korea based exchange but another platform still remains the same to allow the trade for these privacy coins.

I dont understand what is unclear? There is nothing in FATF policy that prevent them to have Monero listed. Nothing. FATF policy demand they know who they sell coins or get coins from. If they do KYC then they do know. Why they posted that is mystery to me. I have no ideas. They should tell the truth what is teh reason.

My speculation is that since tehre was a lot of hacks in South Korea. A lot exchanges lost founds in last years and since they cant trace those taht was witdhrawn in Monero they did this. Instead to raise security to prevent hacks or internal stealings they pulled most simple thing that will not solve anything on the long term. It will only escalate problems since transparent ledger coins are easier targets then coins that have opaque ledger and hackers dont even know who holds them.
2414  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 20, 2019, 03:18:44 PM
We will never go below $9000 ever again, ever. No golden retrace coming, when bitcoin did a golden retrace in past bull market, it didn't take 80+ days to do it, it happened with a week or so.

That is bold prediction since we are nto taht far away from it.  I totaly agree with you that we cant go that much lower as we are now, but less then 10% drop is totally posible. There is maybe even more then 50% chance that it wil happen.

We will definitely go below $9,000 again. And soon.

OMG. Your aperence on the forum is super bad for low prices Sad   I was expecting sideways until christmass. Now this hmm.
2415  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Ebay-like website that accepts bitcoin? on: September 19, 2019, 07:57:54 PM
I am wondering if there is an auction website like ebay, or anything similar that accepts bitcoins.
I don't think Ebay or any auction site wants to put bitcoin in there, because people can buy it on exchanges or buy it through Paypal Cheesy
Bitcoins are also now sold on exchanges, so it has no reason to list them on Ebay Cheesy

LOL. Bitcoin is money. It is not to be sold but it is to be bought with. Maybe nowdays  peopel will realy think that Bitcoin is an item to buy and hold.

I am Building a Crypto District in New York City

Japanese proverb: "The water of even a great ocean comes one drop at a time"

You should defienetly use New Yorker proverbs. You are not gonna build crypto district in Tokio afterall.

As one who personally enjoys working from home, these statistics are troubling. I am looking become a day trader. I do have somw background knowledge from 'unprofitably' trading the forex markets. I'm hoping my story with crypto-trading would be different.

It can be diferent. You can chose 2 paths. Or research and invest and hold. Or scam peopel and take tehir money. With daytrading you wil just lose.

what is your favorite token/coin and why?

My favorite coins are Monero and Bitcoin. Why? Because they are future of money. Monero is just perfect money. Bitcoin with its transparent ledger have a lot of use case.
