2401  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are people buying BTC @ $27000+ idiots? on: January 03, 2021, 03:46:04 PM
The rule was proven to work once again and I don't remember how many times I told it to people here on this forum.
When you buy bitcoin you will make money. The only question is when. It doesn't matter what price you choose, all that will change is the date at which you'll be able to say that you made profit. It can take a year or 2 but eventually Bitcoin will go to a new high and you'll be set. That's all.
2402  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in another Bubble? when will it Burst on: January 03, 2021, 03:30:36 PM
I wouldn't depend on history alone with Bitcoin. OP has stated that "History has never favored Bitcoin in January", but when has it historically favor Bitcoin? Based on what we've seen this year and in 2017 we could say that December used to be a good month, right?
Take a look at December 2014- January 2015 - strong downtrend in both months.
Bitcoin was also rising all throughout January of 2020 and holding steady in December 2019.
As you see there are exception to the rule.

2403  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Tax when moving Bitcoin between accounts and wallets on: January 03, 2021, 03:02:33 PM
According to the definition "Taxable events are triggered by earning money, taking profits, or selling assets."
You aren't doing any of the above by moving your coins from one address to another. It wouldn't make sense if an investor had to pay tax every time he changed a broker.
2404  Economy / Economics / Re: We dont see and dont feel hyperinflation only for one reason on: January 02, 2021, 11:49:12 PM
Using real money is punished by money lndry laws.
You're making big deal out of nothing. How many real money launderers are there? What percentage of cash users launder money? My rough guess is that it's less than 0.5%.
I use cash every day and I don't feel punished in any way. I also exchange bitcoins to cash from time to time.

If we want to save current money system we need to use credit based money only

People are already shopping online more than they did in 2018.
It's not up to us to take the burden. The governments damaged the economy by shutting down various businesses and introducing lockdowns and quarantines. They should find ways to fix what they broke, for instance by lifting taxes, or give power to those who will.
2405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much btc do you need to secure your future? on: January 02, 2021, 11:19:47 PM
Since 1 BTC is enough to put you in 1% of the population within the next 10 years (provided that bitcoin survives that long) it should be enough to ensure safe future. By safe future I mean that you will never be homeless or have to beg for food. It will make sure you'll have normal living conditions. To pursue your goals, education, private business, you'll probably need more than that and even more if you want to make sure your children will also be able to get proper education.

He asked how much i want to start with, i said $500 and he said $500 is too small that i should make it $1000.

Because if you made say 20% on your 500 and were to give him 10% of the profit, he'd earn a whopping 10 bucks in 2 months. He wanted you to invest more not because it allows you to make money and $500 not. It allowed him to make more money and you were to take all the risk. I'm fairly sure he asks everybody to double their investment. You started low (500), but if you said 10k, he'd ask you to invest 20.

many people scored the company above 4.5/5, i came here to search for name whether it will be mentioned in any scam but i didnt get any negative information about them,

Not these people...

Fake reviews are cheap.
2407  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2020-12-30 TheGuardian - Bitcoin surges to record $28,500 on: January 02, 2021, 08:43:08 PM
I have the feeling that Bitcoin is becoming stronger with every year and that I won't be surprised by a bear market this time. In 2018 I thought I was ready for 6k and we went lower which took me off guard. This time I don't even care. I could take another 2 years of bear market and I believe that most long time hodlers became more confident after all these years. It could be the reason for even stronger bull runs and less volatile corrections.
As I'm writing this we're experiencing a small pullback from 33k, but it's not going to be the end of this bull market, you can quote me on this.
2408  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC back to $20000 possible in 2021? on: January 02, 2021, 07:55:04 PM
$20k from $33k would be a 40% drop... extremely unlikely this early in the bull run.

I seriously doubt we'll ever see $20k again.

True, but we're talking about this year. It will depend on the length of this bull run. If it goes straight up, pretty much like it did today, it could end in just a few days around 50k and crash straight down with a normal dead cat bounce. If we were to fall now it wouldn't be fast and hard, but if we were to reach 50k next week it could correct to around 24k, bounce back to 40-45 and crash all the way to 22k because exact 20k wasn't a strong resistance on the way up so I wouldn't expect it to be a strong support. It's more likely to stop at 22k or fall all the way down to 19k.
2409  Economy / Economics / Re: Life is debt on: January 02, 2021, 03:33:34 PM
This is a very strange theory. You believe that to gain health you have to be indebted or that to get money you have to sacrifice happiness, is that right? I don't see how that could be a general rule. Many people don't work hard and instead get paid for doing the things they love. People make money teaching other people, motivating them, healing them, doing all sorts of activities. Tell me how is a gym trainer sacrificing his own health and happiness to teach others how to work out.
2410  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Maximalism Has Won on: January 02, 2021, 03:15:25 PM
Luckily switched my bcash to btc 5 days ago. Waaaay to late but still greatly in profits already. Still have bsv though. Where can ı sell that into btc?

I did that just months after getting my forked BCH split from my bitcoins. I held on to a few for some stupid reason and sold them later, after the BCH bubble, but that wasn't a complete loss since I got a few BSV that I also sold right away. The whole narrative by Roger Ver and later CSW did not make sense. Anybody who read a bit about the deals these guys were making and the lifestyles of their "investors" such as that whole Calvin Ayre knew that it was all a well orchestrated cash grab. They weren't trying to improve anything or help the community, they were staging a coup to dethrone bitcoin.
2411  Economy / Speculation / Re: The 'Game Of" How many BTC does it take to make $1,000,000 USD! on: January 02, 2021, 02:57:12 PM
Today's Date: 1/2/2021

Current Price: $31,175

Total BTC Needed:  32.07 BTC

It's funny but in my last post over a month ago we needed a whole 53.56BTC! Time flies, but bitcoin flies faster.
2412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if Bitcoin hits $1m in the future? on: January 02, 2021, 02:36:24 PM
I don't think that I will ever get rid of all my coins. If bitcoin ever hits 1m USD I'll be rich and it won't matter if I sell 1 or 10 bitcoins. I'll always have enough money to live by so I don't see a reason not to hold some bitcoins as backup, the way you keep money in any other long term investments. I'm planning to sell only enough to live by and depending on the value of bitcoin it will be a cheap or moderately expensive life Cool
2413  Economy / Economics / Re: Strong kyc reason on: January 02, 2021, 12:58:53 PM
In a way that's how facebook tried to make money with Libra. They wanted to connect cryptocurrency to your account, so that they'd know all your private data and shopping practices and be able to target you with personalized ads that would be like instant buy options. You wouldn't have to register anywhere or log in to your bank account to process payments. A girl would post a photo of a prom dress and she'd get an instant ad with jewelry and accessories in the same color. If she clicked that her private data would be sent to the vendor for processing. You can make big money this way.
2414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FOMO has started for Bitcoin on: January 02, 2021, 12:41:20 PM
The greed and fear index had been high over the past one month and the volume traded had been same in the last one week but lower than previous. I dont know if buyers are more than sellers but I feel traders are getting more cautious even with the consistent rise in price. They think if the price is not controlled from here the dip might be more than what they want but we will wait into the middle of the month because January has not been an active market in the past.

The index will show you a general trend. In bear market it used to be in fear/extreme fear for months and in bull it's the other way round. Thinking that extremes mean immediate correction will only get you to lose money. In general there's 2 simplest ways one can trade here. You either sell a bit at each important step like 25k, 30k, 35k, and gradually exit as price goes up, or ride it all the way up until you see a double top or first signs of a crash. I'm still holding and don't believe we're in the last stage of a FOMO yet.

More like someone made some nitroglycerin at home or a decent amount of black powder. I can think of homemade explosives that would do more damage...
Doesn't look like anything of military origin like some gun enthusiasts or former soldiers might prepare, unless they'd want it to be weak.

most RV's have a fuel tank and the RV's gas oven canister.. filling the RV living space with the ovens gas. and then igniting it. would be super easy and with no cost. as its default explosives that come with an RV

Sure it might blow the sides off the RV but wouldn’t cause much more damage than that..
I don’t think that would even be classified as an “explosive” at all.. Actually it’s not..

Much to strong for gas. Gas would just make a fireball and sound wave that would break windows. This thing fell nearby trees. I still think it's too weak for anything professional like c4, wired missile and so on. Doesn't compare with what ISIS could fit in their suicide cars. This was less than 30% of their load.
You can even compare the area it damaged to a terrorist suicide bomb aftermath.
2416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OMG !!!!! You BitCoin people were right. I wish I had bought back in March :( on: December 27, 2020, 03:55:00 PM
Don't forget that some people were selling this year at 5k Wink You really could make much worse trades than selling at 17k in 2017.

I am someone who sold a part of my holdings in 2015 for $250 per coin. I was facing some financial difficulty and I had to sell some of my coins so that I could pay the utility bills on time. That said, I don't regret any of my decisions. Selling at $250 per coin is much better than never investing in Bitcoin. Even at $250 per coin, I didn't incurred any loss as my purchase price was much lower.

So you sold right when I heard about Bitcoin and started buying. Of course I don't know what I'd do had I been in the space since 2013 or earlier. There's no point in crying over spilt milk. I also had my times of doubt when we broke below 5k in 2018 and I thought that this might be the end but I said fuck it, I'll ride it all the way down. Got a bit angry at the market and took a break for almost a year from reading the news and posting on this forum. It helped me to get a better perspective and understand what I really expect from this investment.
2417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the power of HOLD and believe on: December 27, 2020, 03:27:30 PM
Thanks OP. I bought a lot in 2015 and 16 and held ever since. I held all the way through 2017 peak to the 2018 low of 3k, without selling a single coin. Let's see how far we'll go this time, but I think I'll sell at least 1 BTC now to celebrate those years of holding and have some fun. The rest will wait for another milestone like 50k, when I'll have another party at Bitcoin's expense. Long live bitcoin and good luck to all hodlers! Cool
2418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is pointless if the BTC fees increases along with rise in BTC price! on: December 27, 2020, 03:09:07 PM
The title is applicable to small transactions and not the big fish category (ex. 1000k, 10k or more)

I have observed many times whenever there is rise in the price it will proportionally increase the fees as well. BTC becomes useless if I want transfer my coffee bill worth $5 or lets say lunch of $50 bucks if I have to pay more than 10-15 USD for single transaction.

Bitcoin was unfit for buying coffee years ago. In 2017 you wouldn't be able to do it without losing money. It was the same ever since. Your problem is exchanging bitcoin to usd prices. You're using bitcoin but thinking USD instead of pricing items in BTC. If I am to buy a car for 1 BTC and I have to pay 0.0001 to do it, I'm completely fine with that.
Your rant is pretty much what people in 2014 were saying when it was already too expensive to buy a pack of smokes or a coffee for Bitcoin. Later it became too expensive to buy pizza or any restaurant meal. This is how things progress and we have to accept it.
2419  Economy / Speculation / Re: How is bitcoin worth buying now at these prices? on: December 27, 2020, 02:36:45 AM
Why are you thinking about doubling your money? Does anything less make Bitcoin not worth buying? With stocks or any other investment like real estate a 10% gain in a year is considered decent and something like 50% is huge and rare. I'd advise you to calculate how much you're losing on holding fiat money in the bank. In many countries where rates are negative you're at least 2% down every year. Even if your bitcoin investment were to bring you 10% a year you should be happy instead of taking the numbers we're seeing today as granted.
2420  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Strange Nashville bombing on: December 27, 2020, 01:55:09 AM
I don’t understand why people are thinking this was so “sophisticated”..
He had an entire RV of volume for his bomb and the buildings are still standing.. The trees are still standing and the buildings don’t even look that damaged..
Not very impressed.. This was not some expertly made bomb to do real damage imo.. It only made good headlines..

Compare this to the Oklahoma city bombing as far as actual destruction, and even that was an amateur bomb..

Another thing is that motor homes are pretty big, but not really designed to carry that much weight.. They can’t easily hold/carry tons like a rented uhaul truck can..

It would be easy to get a “throwaway” RV with no paper trail by just buying one cheap on Craigslist with cash and never telling the seller your real name.. Just never register it..

That was some of my first thoughts. The recording was creepy, like from some alien invasion, a movie, a game...
The bomb was pretty weak. It barely damaged cars standing nearby. I've seen footage from Iraq and Afghanistan where bombs and mines explode and this was nothing like it. More like someone made some nitroglycerin at home or a decent amount of black powder. I can think of homemade explosives that would do more damage...
Doesn't look like anything of military origin like some gun enthusiasts or former soldiers might prepare, unless they'd want it to be weak.
