1401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GREENPEACE INTENSIFIES CAMPAIGN AGAINST BITCOIN FOLLOWING ETHEREUM'S MERGE on: September 21, 2022, 11:31:12 AM
Facts such as the rolling blackouts and increasing energy costs and the increased drain on energy resources,

idiot thinks bitcoin causes rolling blackouts..
i think that Leg-endK things that all bitcoin miners of a pool are housed in one building like an amazon AWS server farm

sorry Leg-end. but a pool is just a data manager single server, that receives data from miners all across the world.. its a little thing called decentralisation

there are not 3-10 locations of mining. there are tens of thousands of locations

the ~1.5m-2m asics are not located in just a half dozen locations putting high pressure on a single power plant that circuit breaks every day..

get real learn something

The way I see it, this "legEND" is never getting a legendary rank in here.

I always find it amazing how some people develop this socialist mentality that makes them think they can limit people's access to some goods and services "for the good of others". He uses words like leeches and parasites, because in his mind it's one apple for each person. You can't go to the market and buy out all apples, if you do it means the system is broken to allow that and you're a parasite.

It's the same with power grid, he lacks the basic understanding of how electricity works. Each power company calculates the amount they can sell. If I decide to set up a mininng operation, I have to write to them and ask if it's possible that I get a certain amount like 100kW for that. If they can spare it, they'll set me up with everything needed to support such draw.
You cannot steal 100kW just like that. You can't put miners anywhere you like. If you do it without thinking you'll trip your breakers first and if you decide to put in bigger ones you'll fru the connection between your house and the nearest HV transformer.

A mining operation cannot cause blackouts. It's up to the power company to limit power to certain businesses if they are unable to provide a constant and stable supply. They will rather stop supplying miners than hospitals if it comes to that and no mining ban is needed for that to happen. The market will always regulate itself and power companies are free to choose how much power they can send to a location.

LegendaryK, you should stop trying to put yourself between the seller and the buyer. You social justice warriors always try to interfere in the market and put your hands in other people's pockets in the name of equality and ecology.
1402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulations on proof of work might be coming on: September 21, 2022, 11:01:06 AM
Geez , were you sleeping when they were handing out brains?

The more facts people show you the more aggressive towards them you become, throwing insults and calling names. You "world savers" are getting desperate.
Keep dreaming about POW bans all around the world. Every time I see people talk about worldwide bans I ask them a single question. When did you see the world cooperate to stop something? I don't recall such event. In every conflicts there are those who are for and those who are against. Looking at your posts I can see that we won't get anywhere and have to agree to disagree. There's no changing your mind. You think we're all stupid for supporting POW and we think the same about you.
1403  Economy / Services / Re: I offer my finical advisor services for money on: September 21, 2022, 10:01:52 AM
OP, are you trying to sell market analysis? because it really looks like you're offering your gut feeling here and will not take any responsibility for your client's losses.

You cannot spell correctly your financial advisor thread then you expect people to believe you that your good on advising?

But that's what he is - a "finicial" advisor. It's really a smart move so that nobody can sue him. You're not buying any financial advise here, but finicial advise!
1404  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Manipulation looks like on: September 20, 2022, 10:47:18 PM
I've been talking about a similar thing on Bitcoin for years now, especially since they made the futures ETF and then allowed people to short bitcoin. When this wasn't possible the rich players were to lazy to convert their money into BTC and thought it to be too risky for them, but since the futures opened up they allowed them to safely make big money by teaming up with people who already had bitcoin.
This works good for both parties because every time a bitcoin whale sells the futures fiat investor copies their move on a futures exchange and shares profits while the bitcoin holder takes all the risk by holding coins on exchanges.

I have this to tell you OP. Don't play their game. They're here to take your coins and they pray on those who play with big leverage. They have enough money to liquidate you in minutes and they're doing it every day. Don't think their goal is to destroy bitcoin or dump it to 10k or something. They want it to thrive so they can keep doing what they're doing. They don't want to make everyone to lose everything on the market and leave. A chicken that lays eggs is worth more alive than dead.
1405  Economy / Economics / Re: How to be more effective working remotely. on: September 20, 2022, 10:32:46 PM
Of course both parties benefit but I think that the employee gets more out of it. When a company has people available physically, they're able to represent them if somebody pays them a visit, you can make someone go somewhere, to another company, to the government office. Think of it like moving pawns on the board. When you're all at the office the boss can physically move those pawns, you can check their work as you go. For the employee it sucks because the boss is always watching them, it depends on the company though. Software development companies usually find it easy to move to remote work because people there are used to working alone and brainstorming ideas on meetups and conferences, which can be done just as good online.
1406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ask Question to Dr Craig Wright ? on: September 19, 2022, 10:25:10 PM
You can directly ask question to Dr  Craig Steven Wright in this thread. He might answer to your question in this thread or he might reply you with private message.

What proof is it that the replies we will be getting from this thread is actually Mr. Craig Wright #FakeSatoshi, because I doubt if he is on this forum, or probably does he knows about this forum. To me, non of these questions listed above really matter, because if I'm to ask just only one single question, it will be "Why is it after claiming to have had the private key to Satoshi's wallet with 1 million Bitcoins, when asked in court couldn't present any viable answer?
Because having a glance through this article published few days ago, Craig Wright told a Norwegian court on Wednesday that he “stomped on the hard drive” that contained the “key slices” required to grant him access to Satoshi Nakamoto’s private keys, making it “incredibly difficult” to cryptographically prove he is the creator of Bitcoin, and later contradicting himself saying that Satoshi never had 1.1 million BTC but it was stollen, which he is here to recover it from the thieves, of and that can be done by court order...
For more detalls, check the link

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.coindesk.com/policy/2022/09/15/craig-wright-tells-court-he-stomped-on-the-hard-drive-containing-satoshi-wallet-keys/%3foutputType=amp

Because all of us place hard drives on the floor and walk all over them until they break. Didn't you know that?
Since we're at it, I'd ask CSW how is it possible to destroy a hard drive by stomping on it. Last time I checked the case was metal. You can step on it and nothing's going to happen. Worst case scenario you'll damage the plastic connectors or the board situated on the outside, but I've done that, bought a damaged hard drive with working electronics for cheap and fixed it. It literally takes 5 minutes to replace the board and you don't need any special skills or equipment, just a torx screwdriver.

I'd like to propose an experiment. We'll place a hard drive on the floor, CSW will step on it and we'll check if it works. I bet 1 bitcoin that I can recover the files after that experiment.
CSW is a sad liar.
1407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm seriously considering starting a website to stop Greenpeace's bitcoin FUD. on: September 19, 2022, 10:08:13 PM
It's a good idea, although will fighting them with their own methods just get them the attention they're seeking? Most people with a brain know Greenpeace is like those charities that claim to be gathering money fro children but the people running them report earnings much above the level of average wages. This shows they aren't doing it to help whoever they're raising money for but mainly themselves. BLM is a good example here, antifa is another one and Greenpeace belongs in the same group. Just read about their exploits and how money has a tendency to disappear in their organization.

If you get the site running I'll send links to all my friends to check it out and get you some traffic. I don't need other people to tell me what I can or cannot use electricity for. I'm paying for it and if I decide that I want to melt snow in my driveway with it or hang lights on every tree in my garden it's going to happen.
1408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cars That Can Be Purchased with Bitcoin on: September 19, 2022, 09:51:20 PM
I have been considering buying an electric car for a long time because such a vehicle has some advantages.

As much advantages as disadvantages if you ask me.

That said, I have no idea why you're resurrecting a year old thread to say that.
1409  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Power Or Money ? on: September 17, 2022, 12:53:11 PM
I'd choose power to change things. Power to shape the world around me. With that I can eventually earn money.
Having money doesn't mean much because what money are we talking about, millions or billions? If you were given 100 million USD you'd run out at some point. Money would have to be limitless for it to be worth choosing over power. At this point we'd have to ask what kind of power we'd be getting. If it's the power of the president of the US, or the President of Germany, because the difference here is huge since in Germany the president is just for show and has less power than the chancellor. That said you could pick a worse position, like the president of Ethiopia or South Sudan... That would be some power, but probably at the cost of sweat and tears.
1410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Q/A] Can Bitcoin And Eco-friendliness Go Together? on: September 17, 2022, 12:31:48 PM
I'm more concerned that we're succumbing to this eco terrorism that seems to imply that we're some kind of destroyers of the environment. That bitcoiners are irresponsible and are wasting energy mining something that doesn't do anything and doesn't help the world in any way.

What is eco terrorism? The idea that we should ban everything that produces greenhouse gases. We should somehow make people buy those inefficient and expensive electric cars, just because they don't burn fuel. We should make countries shut down their coal burning industry and build inefficient and expensive wind generators, and so on.
I think that "eco" industry is a big scam and countries that participated in it for many years like Germany are already experiencing the effects of their actions. A few months ago the EU was trying to enforce a ban on gasoline and diesel engines, but  Germany opposed this. We're talking about a country that used to vote for sanctions against EU members with high CO2 emissions.

1411  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary account banned! [Appeal][3.5 year passed] on: September 17, 2022, 10:42:27 AM
There are hundreds of thousands of users here. A single mistake can be done by hundreds but that dosen't mean we can corelate those and blame anyone of alt farming.

Plagiarism is not just a mistake, it's a deliberate action. Also, it happened twice and the mods decided to give you a pass on the first one, so not a "single mistake".
A single mistake was being greedy and posting in the campaign thread so fast that you didn't notice all your accounts had the wrong personal text.
Your second mistake was deleting all these posts when you were caught.

Quote
There have been serious allegations against me from the time I opened this thread but those have not yet been proven. Three and a half years and those allegations still remain allegations only.

They were to the extent of our abilities. What would you want us to do? Come to your house and log in from your computer?
You should understand that circumstantial evidence isn't damning, but when there's a lot of it, it starts to look like you're not being honest here.
Nobody would try to get you banned for having alts, but these accounts we're talking about were hacked or sold and you tried to enter them all into 1 signature campaign.
The evidence, although circumstantial, show you as signature spammer, campaign abuser, account trader and plagiarist.

Quote
It is also clearly mentioned in the warning I receive on my account about me getting banned due to plagarism only. Plagarism is a crime over here but it should also be given a chance. I'm ready to prove myself with a permanent signature ban.

True, but you made a thread here for all to see and comment, which means you wanted people to chip in and they did. You avoided confrontation for years about that situation with Onehash and this was a good thread to ask you about it.

Quote
Much of the answers to Lucius are applicable here.
I've researched the other account you are trying to connect with mine. Those can easily be spotted with language change, verbal changes, etc but can you really spot it with my account?

Of course, which is why I asked if you were the only person with access to this account.

In 2014 and 2015 you were posting exclusively in altcoin threads. You were talking about mining altcoins, discussing GPUs, console commands for miners, going deep into technical stuff.
Then there's the gap in which I suspected your account changed hands and you say this:

Personally i dont like altcoins, they are so unpredictable and a waste of time. Maybe you are lucky and find out a good one that suddenly did a x10 and you have good money then. But a lot of them dont survive and they may be forgotten.
So i try to stay away from them. The only one that i like is Ethereum, but bitcoin is the most safe if you are gonna have money on cryptocurrencies.

Pretty strange for someone who spent 2 years and wrote over 100 posts in altcoin discussion, don't you think? Of course that's just another circumstantial evidence.

You also must be from the US, right? The 2014-15 GreatOrchid claimed to be.

The moment when the account was sold is August 10, 2017. This is the point at which your account switches styles into this forced signature posting, very similar to that of your other accounts.

But that's not all. Your posts are contradicting each other all the time, which means you either have a very erratic personality, or, more likely, were switching accounts so often that you couldn't remember what you wrote a week or two before.
First you say you dont like altcoins and only have ETH, then a few weeks later yo post that you're buying altcoins and this is the most profitable work you've ever done.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1196225.msg21909589#msg21909589

If readers of this thread have time to spare they can look at your posts from 2014-15 and 2017 and compare them. 2014-15 have a completely different language, style, even spacing.

Quote
I didn't see any credibility that time and also there were a few allegations coming up so I ignored the thread thinking I would never get back on forum with such serious allegations with are never proven. It kind of disappointed me. No matter how loyal I be, at the end I'm blamed with such accusations which clearly are false. Even today I am replying that these accusations are false but at the bottom of my heart I know no-one would care and would leave me at the current situation with a permanent ban.

My only affection towards the forum forces me to appeal again and again to see if the admins can be soft hearted to forgive me and give me a chance again.

So, you at that time didn't feel like fighting the accusations and left the forum, but this doesn't answer my question, so I'll ask it again. Why did you delete posts in the OneHash thread?
It looks like you were trying to hide evidence and did that with all the involved accounts, which is just another proof they were connected.

Now we have this:
Your accounts had the same posting gap in 2017
Some of them woke up on the same day, the day when Onehash campaign started.
They posted in the campaign thread within 1 or 2 min between each other which is exactly the time needed to relog, change signature and fill the application with a new name and bitcoin address.
They made the same mistake in the personal text
They all deleted their applications after being caught
They all ignored the accusations
Some of them sent coins to the same address

All circumstantial, right?
1412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: In your opinion is this the end for Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency? on: September 16, 2022, 08:05:28 PM
No    - 34 (100%)

That sums it up. Love how the poll has turned out.

I'd also like to quote OP on this:

As of late, Bitcoin is trading at the lowest levels I've seen it trade in quite some time.

I'd like to return to this next year and see OP's reaction.
Bitcoin is at its ATH from the previous cycle. It's a level people in 2018 and 2020 were dreaming of, but couldn't get bitcoin to reach it for more than 2 years. Now we're below the last ATH for only a year and we already see people complaining that the price is low. Wake up OP, the dollar is at its all time high and everything including gold is down because of it, but its real value has not changed.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Clarity on KYC verification & online gambling. on: September 16, 2022, 04:06:46 PM
To answer your questions, OP:
KYC goes against the principles of anonymous cryptocurrencies. It's a rule imposed by centralized governments that claim to be democratic but in reality are authoritarian when it comes to finances. A great example of a fake democracy is Canada that was blocking accounts of people involved in protests so that they wouldn't have money for fuel and food.

Gambling without KYC is still possible. For instance, many jurisdictions require KYC only above a certain sum of money. If you spend $100, many casinos won't make it hard for you.
It also depends on your local laws. If your country requires kyc from all casinos, it's going to also require it from online bitcoin casinos.
1414  Other / Meta / Re: [List]Gambling Board Spammers; Concerns, Solutions & Suggestions on: September 16, 2022, 03:44:11 PM
First I'm not really fan of football, I'm fan of MMA fight.

The MMA thread is also pretty long. Tongue
To be clear, I've posted more than once in the MMA thread and don't see a problem with it. These threads are made in such way that every time a new event takes place people post their opinions and compare the participants. An alternative would be a new thread for each match like they do with boxing. I actually think it's odd that there's one big MMA thread, but boxing usually is divided between individual fights and people don't see a problem with it because these threads are shorter.

I don’t think it’s any worse than Bitcoin Discussion, Speculation or even Meta. I mean how many threads are started in Meta about Merit? The same nonsense, poor English written, threads about Merit? I must have seen hundreds over the years.

Bitcoin Discussion has been a cesspool of shit-posting for years. My advice is just report what you consider to be low quality posting. I don’t think it’s a big deal, there are hundreds of shit posters on the forum. Spammers, scammers, broken English all over the place.

Just report low quality and/or spam posts.

I agree. It's not the threads that should be the target of this rant but individual posters - spammers.
The easiest way to stop this would be to make managers kick people reported for constant spam in these threads, but that can only be done to an extent because 1xbit spammers are the worst and they aren't getting kicked out of their campaign anytime soon...

1415  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ 7 BTC WB ᐉ Altcoin Betting ᐉ no KYC ᕗ Instant payouts on: September 15, 2022, 10:55:46 PM
1xbit is not a scam platform or scam gambling site, you are addressing 1xbit wrongly and i dont like such way, because 1xbit since they started they have not record lack of payment to whom that gambling with them, but you keep emphasising that it's a scam site with out having a prove to defend yourself. I think that this things need clarification.
you know sucking up to them won't increase your payment. also, when you claim that they are not a scam gambling site, their history in this forum says otherwise. they even admitted to it(at least that is what it looks like) when they came back to this forum and tried to solve the issues that they caused in the past.

Ignore him, he's a spammer who tries to make the quota, regardless of what the post will be. He probably thinks 1xBit will keep him in the campaign longer if he posts in the thread.
Just look at his post history. Some of his shitposts are only 1 minute apart. He's spamming them as fast as he can with this broken English of his.

Bitcoin does not have a Hero because bitcoin everybody just seen Bitcoin

bitcoin everybody seen bitcoin....
1xbit not a scam but you keep saying it's a scam and I don't like such way!
Me angry, 1xbit is good and you stupid and bitcoin is bitcoin because bitcoin!

-_- derp
1416  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary account banned! [Appeal][3.5 year passed] on: September 15, 2022, 10:27:44 PM
Oh yea, I remember this thread. I thought they were all suspicious because there was a very similar 1 minute gap between their application to the signature campaign and they all made the same mistake in the personal text because the owner was trying to change accounts so fast he or she didn't notice it.
After a while I was sure that all were controlled by one person and were all hacked accounts that used to post in different languages, had a gap in their posts, woke up around the same time and came to the same signature campaign at the same exact time, with the same mistake in their personal text.

OP denies claims that he or she was ever a part of this group, so let me ask this

Are you the only person who used this account since 2014?

When I made the thread about your group, you did not say anything and ignored it, but you obviously saw it because you deleted the evidence that were your posts in the OneHash campaign thread.
You even tried to reapply later in the campaign, got denied and deleted the post. It survived only because it was quoted.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2020019.msg48314817#msg48314817
Why did you delete them knowing the accusation was false and being able to prove there's no connection between the accounts?

It's really strange that these separate individuals who somehow woke up their accounts on the same date, came to the same campaign, wrote with a 1 minute gap from each other and made the same mistake in the personal text, saw that someone accused them of being linked and did nothing. Instead of countering the accusation, they all deleted their posts and even, in some cases, stopped posting.

1417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casinos vs money laundering. on: September 15, 2022, 09:08:51 PM
High rollers who have a lot of money to launder also have enough money to buy a verified account or pay some random dude to make an account in their name and give it to them. I don't think that KYC changes things for the better here. It makes life of average people like us here harder, but it doesn't do anything to those who have millions coming from a scam to launder.
Do casinos want to make money? Sure they do, but most will not risk their license if the player becomes too suspicious.
1418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Well! Bitcoin doesn't have this problem on: September 15, 2022, 08:58:59 PM
This problem can be resolved if the financial institution offers to pay a certain percentage of what you own in your account on a given period than not giving at all under the pretext of a bad economy.

No, they should give it all because they claim that they hold your money and are supposed to have it with them. When I give them cash I expect to get that cash back at any moment and there's no excuses just like the IRS will not hear excuses if you don't pay them. They will come to your house and arrest you. Where's the equality before the law that they have written all over their court rooms?

Quote

This little part already makes me think the author is a bitcoin hater and the whole thing is written to mock bitcoin and its users.
Allegedly invented? If you put this into question then you should be ready to put up some evidence to the fact that it was not invented by Satoshi. If you don't have such evidence, you should stop using this word and instead write facts as they are. No one "alleges" that Satoshi is the creator. He is.

Also, what does it mean its own money? The payment system's money? Bitcoin has its own money... I've never heard that before.

Are you the author? I can't find author's name. Is he ashamed?

Most people want to have more money, but here's the deal, you don't get to do what you want. Life is not about doing what we want without any limits and at the cost of other people. Life is about coexistence, ethics, being a good man.

I'll ask you a question, OP. Would you sacrifice all your dignity for money? If not then where's the limit? At which point do we say no? If you cannot show such a point then maybe we should put this limit at any unethical thing, regardless of how little damage it does?

what do you think it's Wright?

Your typo actually made it look pretty legit. Craig Wright is corrupt and it's not OK Cheesy
