2402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: July 23, 2023, 06:45:19 PM

My main focus on this thread is in this question: as a gambler do you place your bet according to the weight of your financial need or you're always okay with whatever amount that comes out as potential win no matter how small amount?

Need is something that is insatiable so to bet according to need means the person is betting with greed and will be taking alot of risk that he can not carry. People who bet with their needs in mind are doing that if they see gambling as the only source of income. I don't advise people to bet that way but to bet according to their financial straight at that time and to bet as they can bear. Use some possible odds with few games then you are good to go.
2403  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When things go south, who or what lifts you up?? on: July 23, 2023, 05:34:08 PM
I always think of emigrating from the country in which I live. It is true that I was born here and all my family and friends are here, but the economic situation has become unbearable and everyone is thinking of emigrating.

So I think it is a common problem in many countries at different levels. If you get the opportunity to travel, don't miss it. Hope for a better tomorrow is what lifts you up.

The funny thing about migrating from one's country of origin to another country of foreign land is that you become a stranger and if you don't have a complete and legal traveling document including work permit is that you are going to be totally stranded and might be deported which will amount to waste of money and time. Moreover, your country of origin might be better than the country where you are running to because most times that is the situation since the grass is greener from the neighbor's end.

Despite that the government may corruptly embezzle tax payers money and not use it to provide social amenities for the people, we don't have to hide away from it either. What we have to do is to try and hold the government accountable by speaking out and taking them to court if the judicial system is independent and not corrupt also. Tax payment is a civic responsibility and to avoid it is a crime because government may turn around to punish people that they hold guilty of no payment.
2405  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics everyone's business? on: July 23, 2023, 02:40:44 PM
yes everyone has an equal right to pursue whatever interest they dime fit,  but then not everyone will have the ball to pursuits their interest.

Every has interest coupled with the zeal but that ball is what is lacking because those political gladiators are ready to kill or harm whoever crosses their part not to get to power. Many young men have been cut short because of their aspiration politically. So it is not a terrain for the lily livered to flourish like other endeavors like economy, social and media outlets. In politics, you have to be strong because that is where all other policies of government stem from.

The baldman narration got me thinking how it all come together but now I know it was an irony  Grin

The first judgement is already an edge and to upturn it may seem that the court is biased. The precedent will always be looked at because the evidence are part of the consideration.
2407  Economy / Economics / Re: The whales stirred. What should we expect? on: July 22, 2023, 07:26:27 PM
Question to the esteemed public ! What is this ?
- the end of the short era of cryptocurrencies ? Owners are actively moving into fiat

Moving into fiat or stable coin? I think the latter sounds more reasonable if those "ancient " wallet contained bitcoin and are now transferring to exchange then the logical analysis would be they either want to convert to stable coin to hodl in expectation that price will drop or that their big sells will eventually crash price while they are still hodling equivalent current price to sweep in more btc. I know another analysis could be selling to hodl in fiat but that may not visibly be certain because they fear inflation that is possibly hit the fiat and its value may not purchase as much btc if the crash happens. Just my thoughts anyway .

Quote
Nigeria should enhance its physical infrastructure, including transportation networks, electricity supply, and internet connectivity.

Quote
The Naira remains under pressure as many Nigerians scramble to acquire dollars for essential expenses, such as tuition, medical care, and import bills.

Quote
Several factors contribute to this predicament, including a significant influx of foreign currency from non-oil sources, such as remittances, tourism, and non-oil exports, into the black market.

I copy all these quotes from the link wey you provide. I no go talk too much on top this. No be rocket science go arrange things. Naira no be Nigeria challenge, so long as pressure dey on exchanging dollar to take important goods or take travel abroad for whatever purpose and we no dey produce what to export, Naira will still be depreciating. The economy lacks factors of production.
2409  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The best motivation on: July 22, 2023, 02:09:17 PM
I think all you can do in life is to be the best version of yourself. If you get up in the morning, work hard & go to bed knowing that you were a good person & couldn’t have done any more then that’s all you can do. We all have goals, targets etc but we must make them realistic. We all want to be Tom Brady but it’s not going to happen. Whether it’s a new qualification or a promotion at work, to make your wife proud of you, self motivation to go out there every day & do your best is a recipe for success.

Of course women like to have their men achieving in whatever they do, they want them to excel and so they also assist them in prayers especially the women that have the fear of God.

We can also motivate others by encouraging them using our own experiences. Sometimes we are a living motivation to people even without speaking to them if they know our triers and how we have been able to win in all the challenges. Also those people who know us, share our stories to others.
2410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: July 22, 2023, 01:30:57 PM
Nowadays most of the gambling platforms are advertised in the world of internet so that people can easily access those gambling companies. People are developing because of these gambling advertisements and they are joining in the hope of profiting from here. And this gambling industry is one of the most expensive competition in the world today and the constant gambling platforms have gained their popularity. We will see in the future that the gambling industry will grow more than double than it is now and everyone will be involved in this gambling platform.

The evidence of the gambling growth is felt all over. There is hardly any country that the youth are not online gambling. That is the new internet revolution and developers have taken the opportunity to build games that are very attractive in different forms. Moreover here in the forum, most of the ads are mostly on gambling and casinos. New accounts are opened just to run an ads on new casinos even whether it is genuine or not but they publish there sites because they know that is new market space.
2411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there real sports bet groups on: July 22, 2023, 11:27:49 AM
I myself would rather use the money to bet on the predictions that I make than use the money to buy predictions that are not clear.

Even if you are not really experienced in gambling, it's better to meet someone who knows more than you and ask them to guide you or possibly give you some games, which they will gladly do for free because they also know that winning is very uncertain.

Not really the way you think. Gamblers sometimes don't feel free to release games to other gambler even especially when they feel it is a game possible for winning. That gambler may be feeling he has lost more times than the other person therefore considering it a chance for his own turn.  Most gamblers who rely on groups for their prediction want what will be given to them because they subscribe to it and not that they will beg for it but all in all there are no guarantee winning game.
2412  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 22, 2023, 09:08:09 AM

Both rich and poor gamble and both becomes addicted, but the addiction of a poor man is easily noticeable because of lack of money.

If the addiction of the poor is easily noticeable that means the poor gamble with desperation to meet up with needs and regain his lost money which in any case is not regained because he continues to lose as it is not easy to win often times against the house or the casino. This is the situation in gambling for those who see gambling as source of income or that try to get huge jackpot from gambling.
2413  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 22, 2023, 05:20:55 AM

People who work hard to earn some money don't risk the hard earned money and if they do, it will be very limited. Their money is already intended to their family. However people are always tell themselves to make money work for them, funny its misunderstood that way which the lower class gambles like there is no tomorrow.

Those are simply the group of people who don't gamble at all. They are those who don't see any benefit in gambling. They are probably the group of people like the person arguing to the topic regarding to people who don't have enough money and feels they can make more money to support themselves through gambling.  Therefore, some people work hard but they also believe they need to gamble and add up to what they get from their normal jobs through working hard and others believe they only need to stake with what they get from working hard because they may lose it all.
2414  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When things go south, who or what lifts you up?? on: July 21, 2023, 09:09:19 PM

So I'm curious, have you ever found yourself in such a situation? And how where you able to move yourself from such a state? Your opinions could help someone..

Many times challenges solve themselves and that is why they say time heals. People who have gone through this would see that sometimes it is time that will pass and you will gradually adjust to yourself and you now realise you would have been the greatest full for wanting to take your life which is to the extreme.

Apart from time, there is another solution which is talking it over with family or friends. They are source of encouragement for someone in such hopeless state .

The third is music. Listening to some cool reflective songs that will bring your mind down and free from whatever you have been through with. Music have been known to be recipe for many people in such condition.
2415  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics everyone's business? on: July 21, 2023, 08:26:57 PM
People who are not interested in Politics will still be affected by what is going on around him including politics because its them who decides what the people get. A little changes in the rules by the governing politicians like banning grain affects you as a consumer. So don't think because you careless what is going on in politics mean politics will forget you.

All the more in geopolitics and us who trades in currencies because a little conflict in the Tokyo affects YEN/USD market.

It is a circle yes. If a country also does not partake in global politics and get it self affiliated to what is happening and try to influence it to their favour then the negative aspect of the global politics will keep hitting on the country's economy. The decisions agreed on the global comes down to the local, if world bank increase it spending, it is either it will benefit some countries in terms of loan and it is those that are influential and have presented very good reasons will get such on the shortest time while others are left behind.
2416  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some financial secrets that you know of? on: July 21, 2023, 07:03:18 PM
Everyone already know buying bitcoin is a financial secret on the long time.

Do not be showy to the people you know that you've got money or else they'll come to you and ask to borrow money. And when you don't lend them money, you're bad in their eyes.

That's going to put a possible pressure to you if you can't take those type of feedbacks with your action. And it is the reason that if you've got money to spend in the things you like, always remain lowkey.

Staying lowkey is good that is if you are a starter in your financial process because there is a financial level you get to you can not stay lowkey, I mean people already know you even if you decide to stay on lowkey. However, back to your first point, I don't think giving is bad but you only have to be reasonable. If you are not a huge spender on things that are not necessary then to invest will be a challenge.
2417  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 21, 2023, 06:09:19 PM

The important thing is that we should not gamble desperately to make money because that will have a adverse effects on us as a gambler.

This is a very good advise and that which I think differentiate the poor who is gambling and the rich who is gambling. The poor gamble in desperation because they see it as the only possible source of income so when they lose a bet, they desperately chase back the money and they keep loosing but the rich could have other source of income that he may have made profit from also so he covers the gambling loss with some profit from his diversified investment hence they wait for a lucky day instead of desperately trying to win at all cost.
2418  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 21, 2023, 05:12:06 PM

Almost every one is knows Drake the artist who has a gambling habit and post his gambling slips often. He gambles with a lot of money, and he is just opne example of someone rich who gambles.

Yeah the name of drake was mentioned as a popular artist and rich but like you said and just like him too, he has that as a habit, profession to stream and win more people over. To him those rich guys who are not social media incline or YouTubers don't usually involve in gambling. That was his view but I think some of these rich people could be gambling in their closet maybe for fun and not necessarily streaming.
2419  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 21, 2023, 04:20:21 PM

The rich man does not rely in gambling there are still other sources that become his income, he knows how to earn money healthily without gambling games, but that's most of the rich people prefer on their business/investment to generate not from gambling.

I think that is the point he tried to make that because the rich have a stable and steady financial inflow, they may not be found gambling like the lower class. Believe it that most people who gamble do that for the additional money expected as winning reward. I think there could be some sense in that anyway but I also know that some rich do gamble especially in football betting and when they are drinking, they could lock horn in P2P gambling with friends maybe that could be for fun and superiority to show who follows football more.
2420  Other / Off-topic / Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 21, 2023, 02:47:05 PM
I was in argument with someone. His view is that people who gamble are those that what they have is not sufficient for them and so they try to make more money from gambling. He said if you have sufficient money to take care of your needs that you won't think of gambling. He made reference to some rich people, who don't gamble because they have sufficient money to even gift to charity but that those rich who still gamble are only addicted to it not just because of the money. Therefore, that the percentage of the rich gambling is very small compared to those in middle class and lower class.

So my question is, is the percentage of the rich gambling lower than the middle and lower class?
