2421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Bitcoin, You'll Thank Me Later - Mexican Billionaire Says on: February 25, 2022, 08:37:07 PM
In the face of the current crisis that is happening between Russia 🇷🇺 and Ukraine 🇺🇦  Billionaire Salinas is positive in Bitcoin future and has advised investors to buy bitcoin.

Quote
Billionaire Salinas has some advice on investing in Bitcoin. Ricardo Salinas Pliego, the third richest man in Mexico and the founder of Grupo Salinas, gave praise about Bitcoin in a statement he made.

In his statement to investors, Salinas recommends buying Bitcoin or even investing more in this space due to the low price right now.

"TRUST ME, BECAUSE YOU'LL THANK ME LATER."

As is known, Salinas is the founder and chairman of Grupo Salinas, a group of companies that deals with telecommunications, media, financial services and retail stores. According to Forbes' list of billionaires, the company's net worth is currently more than $13 billion.
Salinas, who recently shared on the social media platform, warned his Twitter followers to continue buying Bitcoin:

In fact, these statements are not the first time Salinas has strongly recommended buying Bitcoin. As it can be remembered, he made similar statements in June last year.

“BITCOIN IS AN ASSET WITH EXTRAORDINARY PROPERTIES. ALL THE ADVANTAGES THAT BITCOIN HAS, FOR ME, MAKE IT GOLD FOR THE MODERN WORLD.”

The billionaire, who makes positive statements about cryptocurrencies, also has a negative approach to official currencies in the opposite direction. He even qualifies such currencies as fraudulent.

“GOVERNMENTS DON'T LIKE BITCOIN. THE FACT THAT PEOPLE CAN GET OUT OF THE FIAT TRAP BURNS THEM BECAUSE FIAT MONEY IS A FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY.”

Again, referring to the activities related to issuing counterfeit money in the US last November, he said:

“THE UNITED STATES IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE LIKE AN IRRESPONSIBLE THIRD WORLD COUNTRY. BUY BITCOIN NOW.”

Instead of panic selling, this is the time for people to really evaluate their position and make the tough decision. Who knows maybe this opportunity may never come again.

Source

Yes, I agree with you, there is no need to panic and sell. But as we all know, it's the ones who weather the storm that wins in the end. However, a part of me can't help but think he's not really working for the benefit of the common people. He should be more careful with his words, he should explain to the people the benefits of long-term holding, the prospects of crypto, and how it can benefit the common man.
I'm sorry to disagree with you but how come that you have thought that he's not working for the benefits of the crowd? He is a business minded person and to think that he's one of the richest man in Mexico, then we can conclude that he got the best experience on how to improve your assets and make you progress from profitable investments. I guess he's serious on the words that come out from his mouth. And bitcoin only happened his top choice that has a lot of potentials to grow in the future more than fiat. And i have here more reasons why we should invest in bitcoin. Read it here: https://www.investopedia.com/tech/question-why-should-anyone-invest-crypto/
2422  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A thing worst than "don't trade with your emotion" a trader should avoid on: February 25, 2022, 08:16:03 PM
There's a popular trading adage that says you shouldn't trade with emotion since it might lead to wrong decisions about when to buy and sell, but I think there is a worse thing than emotion.
Some YouTube channels are excellent evaluators who will never be biased in their judgments, they will tell you everything, even the fair fundamental and technical aspects of everything you need to hear, but some are so bad that I get irritated when I see their YouTube video thumbnail.
As a trader, you should trade with all of the knowledge you have obtained, your actions and targets should be based on your discoveries, not whether bitcoin will increase by 100x or by a million.

Shillings and hype are good sometimes, they might have their influence on bitcoin/Altcoins growth but I think it's not good to follow their steps because they say it will 100x, they are overdoing it and it doesn't help traders.
Be focused on your own findings and make a clear decision on your trades.
LOL if we take a look at all the pictures you put together we can infer a rule, if the thumbnail of the video has a person with his mouth wide open and a bitcoin symbol then you know it is not worth watching. Wink

But being serious this is what happens with the media, in order to bring attention the media most of the time exposes the views of those which have more radical ideas because this generates more views and clicks and the voices of the moderates are not considered, the same happens here, who do you think will get more attention, the trader that predicts sideways movement for the next months or the one that says there is a big bull market coming? And it is obvious the latter will get way more attention than the former.
Good and tempting words will always attract the crowd, even if its beyond already the truth. Well, this is not something new as most of the youtubers are always making promotions in their products or in any content that they will be paid. But if we already know that those are mostly exaggerations, then we should avoid following them and focus on what we think is true that is not biased and that is purely based on facts and knowledge that we have gained. In trading, its not just about the hype and trend, but its more on the effective strategies and the right attitude we opt to have when we trade because that is more proven to have gains, and not on losses.
2423  Economy / Economics / Re: What economic sanctions will US impose on Russia on: February 25, 2022, 07:48:35 PM
The war is going on, casualties are falling from the ukraine side, I see to this day America does not dare to impose economic sanctions on Russia, UN says for the sake of humanity and conscience, please stop war and withdraw troops from ukraine, says UN chief.

It seems America doesn't dare to impose sanctions on Russia, because they are both countries that like to interfere in other countries' affairs, equally strong.
"As we seek to impose maximum costs on Putin, there is more that we can and should do," the New Jersey Democrat said. "Congress and the Biden administration must not shy away from any options—including sanctioning the Russian Central Bank, removing Russian banks from the SWIFT payment system, crippling Russia's key industries, sanctioning Putin personally, and taking all steps to deprive Putin and his inner circle of their assets." source:https://edition.cnn.com/2022/02/24/politics/biden-sanctions-russia-ukraine/index.html

Those were the sanctions for Russia for invading Ukraine. It seems Putin is the target of all the sanctions and i can't imagine living his life in hell after having all the consequences due to the war that he has started. But we can't blame Putin after all, we know how strong Russia is and once you see your own country is already affected, you will really think of revenge.
2424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Martinez - Feb 26, 2022 on: February 25, 2022, 02:58:42 PM

And as expected, Jerwin is the favorite to win 1.16, Fernando Martinez 5.20.

Seriously? I can't believe that Ancajas is heavily favored here with that kind of odds, I think it will be around 1.50 and below, but that is too low, I mean who would take 1.16? It's not even a sure win IMO.

By the way, what sportsbook is your basis for the odds?

Actually 1.15 at sportsbet.

There are no alternative lines now, only the Moneyline, you can get 1.15 for Ancajas while 5.20 for Martinez.
Check it here;
https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/boxing/international/international-matchups/ancajas-jerwin-vs-martinez-fernando-6216379dd2eeb928bac23cb4

That's even lower than sportsbet but the odds are still low and I won't take it. I'm still checking on the betting odds from time to time, and as of my current check, the alternative odds is still not available yet, I have a feeling that they are going to make this up by tomorrow.

edit : oops, looks like the entire odds are out, check it out now.

Thanks, odds are now updated.

Some interesting odds.

Ancajas by KO 2.25

Winner & round range - Ancajas 1-3 @14. .. It's a very attractive odds for me, if he will have a good start and will hit Martinez clean, the fight might end earlier than expected.
2425  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 25, 2022, 01:50:20 PM

2426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be banned in the EU starting from 2025 if ... on: February 24, 2022, 09:56:11 PM
Many be banning trading Bitcoin on regulated centralized exchanges operating in the EU, but not  banning Bitcoin. You can't just "ban" a very decentralized network like that. How will they ban me from using Bitcoin network to make transactions?
Its easy for those lawmakers and regulators in EU to put a ban on bitcoin and all crypto transactions but the question is if they can succeed it as its already know that a lot of countries have tried to ban bitcoin but until now, they cannot succeed from doing it. So i don't think if they can sustain the ban later on.

"However, nobody expected it to become a deal breaker and to make it into the final report,” said Patrick Hansen, the head of growth at Unstoppable Finance and a contributor for RegTrax, Stanford University’s working database on fintech policy. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/eu-parliamentarians-push-limit-bitcoin-114902741.html
2427  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Journey of a successful trader on: February 24, 2022, 09:36:06 PM
I really appreciate all the points you have mentioned above as it will really help those who are new to the crypto currency trading. But the truth is that is easy to say than done particularly when it comes to crypto currency trading because if real money is involved emotion will be difficult to separate when making your trading decision and that has impact on one trading decision.
I believe its always an advantage if we can follow certain rules to achieve our goals specially in trading but there is always a different scenario when we're already in real trading. Yes, emotions can be very detrimental but if we will control it, we can expect positive results in trading. However, to be a successful trader, its not only based on the steps and strategies alone, but your attitude towards trading and the positive mindset that a trader should have will always matter the most.
2428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto prices are starting to strengthen again on: February 24, 2022, 09:19:37 PM
The market cannot be predicted we can't for sure determine why the price is moving a little bit up and speedy while bearish. During the Covid time the price was not that affected and it was word wide pandemic and bitcoin did not only survive but it reached ATH. So the market price climbing again doesn't mean it won't fall again or continue rising because of the recent actions happening between Russia and Ukraine. Traders and investors should be observant of the price movement to determine when to sell or not.
Stay active because the worst is yet to come, though its good to see the price of Bitcoin up again but I think its too early to celebrate because the real war can still happen. Let’s all hope for the world peace as many countries still fighting and suffering from the pandemic, they can’t afford to have an economic shut down again because of this war. World leaders should prevent that from happening at all cost.
Maybe we should set aside some selfish wants but hope for this current war to stop as it could also affect its neighboring countries. I find it hard for Russia to stop this as they have already started to attack Ukraine but if their President will think of the consequences that this war could bring, and in fact that they may be sanctioned later on, he should urge his men to put an end to all of these. And not just only crypto market is affected but i guess all stocks market have been suffering because of this.
2429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally got paid for some work in bitcoin on: February 24, 2022, 08:58:05 PM
I write apps for a living.  Someone wanted a crypto one done and they paid me in bitcoin. Living the dream.
Wow congrats! I am also doing that as a freelance writer and marketing manager. I prefer crypto as payment than fiat. Good choice!

currently I am a final semester student, besides that I also have a side job as a freelance writer on a platform that pays with crypto. In the future, I want to develop my writing skills to become more expert in order to be able to set my salary rates with Bitcoin. When our work is paid for in Bitcoin, it gives more satisfaction than being paid with fiat.
If you can develop more your skills, that will be your own asset so you can receive rewards from bitcoin. So always focus on enhancing your writing skills as you will be benefiting from it in the future. And receiving a salary like bitcoin has always been a dream for everyone because that could also mean a good retirement funds for you in the future.
2430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]: RYAN GARCIA vs EMMANUEL TAGOE - April 9 on: February 24, 2022, 12:52:14 PM
Tagoe is not an A fighter but his record is good.
Record is nothing if he is not fighting a class A fighter, if he will fight Garcia, he will be just like an amateur boxer trying to beat a pro. I don't want to say a lot as I don't want to underestimate Tagoe, but hopefully we will see an entertaining fight although Garcia is expected to win here.
2431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: February 24, 2022, 11:56:03 AM

I have nothing to say about how long the process will take, my point is that the judge should be fair.

In the Philippines, it will take forever, especially if the accused has enough money to fight for the case. However, this is not good for him if there's enough evidence to convince him, it's better to settle it the soonest so the problem will not get worst and will not distract his training.

Hopefully, it will not reach the point that Casimero will have more distractions and that will result in losing his fight. This mandatory fight is a must-win by him, if he messed up, then that will not result in a good future, plus, he might spend his money on the pending cases he has to face.

Casimero is an entertaining fighter, I hope he'll continue to focus on his big dreams in boxing.

He is, no doubt about that, that's why I don't look at his personal problem but just his performance in the ring. He has a problem now, that's given, but hopefully, that will not be a hindrance for him to successfully defend his belt, he really needs that win because that is his ticket to a big fight against Inoue.
2432  Economy / Economics / Re: US Government! You are Welcome to the Bitcoin Age. on: February 23, 2022, 09:55:46 PM
Not really late or early? I mean there's nothing late or early at this stage, most of the adoption right now is what's beginning the intro of crypto towards the bigger stage. It also brings the idea that the government finally realizes that banning them isn't really going to do anything, regulating them would be the much better option in the long run, especially with how prominent crypto is (which is only going to get bigger imo). Still, nothing new with them trying to restrict it though, adding more KYC and stuff like that. It is the government we are talking abouta fter all.
Be it late or early, i guess the US government does not care about it as long as they can take advantage on bitcoin and obtain the profits from regulating bitcoin instead of banning it. And its also known that a lot of residents in US are already into bitcoin trading or mining so legalizing bitcoin and regulating it can bring more income to their own economy, and it can also attract foreign investments which will contribute much to regain their down economy. So bitcoin has a lot of advantages that any country could benefit, i'm glad US government has finally realized it.
2433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Only invest an amount you can afford to lose" on: February 22, 2022, 09:43:52 PM
Investment is like gambling. Some people want to invest more and earn more, but in many cases, the consequences of this idea are beyond people's affordability. When many people invest a small amount of money, they are always misled by others "be brave and try boldly." If they make money, they will be very happy and they will invest more and more. If it fails, it may require great psychological and financial affordability.
Yeah I also think that investing is like gambling, because we don't know what will be the outcome of our investment, because this is crypto and we know already that this is a high volatility market and changes is already been expected. That is why I think that investing an amount that we can afford to loss is a good idea, however taking more risk is also a way to big profit, so we need to decide by our own for good, because no one know how market looks like in the next few days, weeks, months or even for years.
If you can start investing with a huge capital, the result will most likely a bigger profits. But its not all the time that you will gain profits, as investing may also lead into losses. This is the reason why we should always invest on the amount we can afford to lose, so that if we lose, we will never end up in a mess having an empty pocket. Invest first on a small basis and when you're already making good returns from it, slowly increase your capital to come up with a bigger profits too.
2434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 22, 2022, 01:27:03 PM
LeBron James' last shot was very good, before that they tried three pointers all the time. Stephen Curry shoots a really good three-pointer. We watched a good allstar match, many good players played together. After Kobe's death, it's not as enjoyable as it used to be, even though he's not playing, I wish I could watch him in the stands and be able to see him Sad
I see it's like a show by Steph, he's been on fire even just by the first half of the game. On Durant's team I think Ja Morant was showing off those acrobatic dunks and it was just fun to watch him doing those things. I think it's subjective if you mean enjoyable if you only want to see what you wanted to see, we have to move on and it's just proud to say I'm a Kobe fan as well but we should accept the fact that he's gone physically but what he brought to the league is matchless, he's one of the reason how NBA was shape in the 2000's.
Curry changes the game, even the big men nowadays are already shooting 3's. Like what we witnessed during the 3 point shooting contest, it was Town who won the competition, who would expect that? right?  Anyway, I guess the players now are enjoying their short break.
2435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: February 22, 2022, 12:34:38 PM
So there is a lot of financials that enter the picture here, it's not that he is getting millions of dollars in every fight. And how many Filipino boxers goes broke after they have their time and won for their country, majority of them didn't save when they retire, just saying.
It's their money, so they can decide on what to do. Most of the boxers does not study financial literacy, only few really understand how to manage their finances but we are seeing some improvement now, look at pacman, he is popular and he use his funds really well, he has a lot of business that could sustain, and even if he is not anymore active in boxing, he can still live a comfortable life.
We know that, but at least see our boxers living a good life ever after retirement. They risk their lives boxing in the ring, and if they make huge money, they should learn how to manage it, saving alone is not enough, financial literacy means knowing how to invest the funds as well in order for it to grow.
2436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: February 19, 2022, 09:30:30 PM
I'm under the impression that his medical condition have been cured already that is why he is willing to go and train and fight Butler again.

It won't be a problem, and with his conditioning coach, they can devise a plan on how to carefully shed off that excess weight naturally so that it won't be any harder for him fight night.

His medical condition don't have a cure. It's just that it can be stopped from being a viral. With the right diet, exercise and discipline, it can be avoided at some point. I'm sure his conditioning coach is already making actions and steps to prevent that from happening again to Casimero.

Let's be positive about this and put our trust to Casimero that he will won on this fight.

According to my research, this is the treatment.

Quote
There's often no specific medical treatment for viral gastroenteritis. Antibiotics aren't effective against viruses. Treatment first involves self-care measures, such as staying hydrated.
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/viral-gastroenteritis/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20378852

You are right, he just needs to take care of his body and that would only be possible with the right conditioning coach. He is not having a major problem though as long as he has the discipline to prevent it from happening again.

I'm confident he can get this treatment and will be ready on the upcoming fight.
2437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 19, 2022, 09:07:40 PM
Allstar weekend started well. I think the first day's event was good. Team Barry wins Clorox Rising Stars, Cade Cunningham named MVP Smiley
The real fun day will be today. My favorite and best-watching events for years are on the 2nd day. I hope the dunk contest goes well, the player who deserves it wins. Last years we didn't see good dunks enough Cheesy
I'm rooting for Jalen Green to win the Slam Dunk competition this time around, he's been an explosive and athletic guard ever since even when he wasn't yet in the NBA. I think it will never be boring this time considering we've got exciting participants right now, and, they should invite dunker judges rather than just plain veteran players, just my two cents.
It's easy to decide on who will win as soon as we see them making dunks, even the fans could tell who should win but you have a point, they can invite dunkers but not necessary that all the judges are dunkers. Anyway, I see some clips on his dunks and he really is very impressive, so good luck bettors, hopefully, he will get this big win.
2438  Economy / Economics / Re: Ukraine legalize bitcoin on: February 19, 2022, 02:45:37 PM
Legalizing Bitcoin is a great move by Ukraine since they might face bigger inflation especially if the war happens so this can be a win win situation for their citizen to at least have a good option either to use cryptocurrency or stick with their fiat money.

I just hope the tension there will slow down and things go back to normal, because legalizing Bitcoin really have a good impact in the whole market, let’s see more countries to do the same thing.
I guess no country will wish to create more tensions with other countries, as its better to have peace and create harmonious relationship between the two. And bitcoin right here is definitely a good option that will beat the inflation that they might suffer if they continue not to legalize bitcoin. While most of the countries now are now having good thoughts on bitcoin and are willing to legalize bitcoin, then no countries would want to be left behind and this why Ukraine has already decided take the lead.

in this era, i don't think countries should resort to actual war. the leaders can sit and discuss the matters peacefully. but i guess, ukraine and russia are just preparing for the worst, why suddenly both of them have good approach towards crypto. well, we always accept this positive action towards btc, right?
if noting else, they are promoting the use of btc and other crypto, which is good for adoption. and so the demand will further increase, hence, the price increase.  Grin
The bill that was passed to legalize crypto however does not recognize bitcoin as a legal tender, but maybe in the future they will consider adopting bitcoin as a legal tender, just like what El Salvador did. I guess aside from the fact that bitcoin could beat inflation, other reasons too why Ukraine has decided to legalize crypto its because with crypto there will be low taxes, light paperwork, and eventually it will attract foreign investments. So there's a lot of advantages crypto can bring into a country, which other countries are still blind to it. That's very shady, 0 risk and high interest, there's no such thing as legitimate in that way, it's obviously a pyramid scheme that uses a different name, probably they have been in the business of scamming before and they are back again with a new name.

Please stay away from this if you plan on investing, don't even consider it.
