1441  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to avoid future losses in crypto on: December 21, 2022, 09:25:15 PM
All your points don't seem new anymore. These are some points that have been very commonly discussed but many seem to fail to do well. You may know that not all traders are able to control themselves not to be greedy, they will panic when there is a big correction and that's not just once.

After all, self-control and emotions also have to be good points to profit in this very volatile market. You must have good management which will help you in the end. Analysis is also needed, it will be complex.
Everything that OP has discussed has been a consistent reminder every now and then, but seems everything is still too difficult to make it happen. And without patience and resilience, I guess everything significant we made at first will never be worthy anymore. But one sure thing with crypto, it can bring out the best profits and change your life, but it can also be a source of worst regrets if you don’t have the skills to make it work.
1442  Economy / Economics / Re: A fact that the general public don't know on: December 21, 2022, 08:58:23 PM
Both are in the same industry, so what's the difference?

Not because they're in the same industry doesn't automatically mean they're the same. The former is a totally custodial platform, while DeFi platforms are non-custodial.
And with custodial platforms, the operators have its own full control on the platform, but for cryptocurrency which is non-custodial, the people who became the owners of cryptocurrency are given the chance to control their own possessions without having an intervention from other custodial parties. So there’s really a big difference between the two, but only knowledgeable and informed people can sight the difference.
1443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Types Of Online Casinos To Avoid.. on: December 21, 2022, 08:41:55 PM
There must be an online casino that doesn't have a community but it doesn't mean that all of them are a scam. Maybe they are not just a fan of those. They created an online casino for the sole purpose of earning a money. Nothing else.

And, not all casinos that are rated high were automatically mean legit because ratings can also be faked out easily. The only way for us to confirm if the casino is truly legit or not it is by playing with them using some amounts which we can afford to lose easily. A legit high rated casino must have a gaming license. If we have a concern, I think it's possible to report them in their license issuer. Also I heard that a licensed casino can be reported in askgamblers.com
Well, it does not mean actually that all those online casinos who do not prefer to build an online community are most likely scams and should never be trusted. Of course it’s never the case. But on the part of the users, even myself, I see it more reliable if we can easily communicate with them with regards of our problems and concerns, and even suggestions. With ANN thread, I can see there is more transparency not only on the part of the operators of the casino but even to the players too. Especially for newly build online casinos, they can be more known easily if there is an ANN thread present.
1444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino bonus is it worth it? on: December 21, 2022, 07:59:25 PM
If you want to get that extra $$ to bump your luck/time in the casino then I guess it's worth it. I've learned to not chase bonuses nor even acknowledge them whenever I'm playing. Good to have them when they don't have any ridiculous wagering requirement, but I'm still okay even if they don't exist. Most of these bonuses are made for people who are really enjoying to chase after these absurd bonuses in the casinos. I'd say just play and ignore the bonuses. They'll distract you a lot and you'll not have a very good time playing if such distractions are present.
Casino bonuses are simply made to get new customers. This is one way more advantage to the casinos so they can stay at edge from other casinos despite of the strong competition. However, for us, I’d say this is also worth it because they can be a big help for us to win without high risks, but for some it can also be somewhat annoying since it can also wager us more until we end up empty just to chase for them.
1445  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Finally got my boss to pay me in Bitcoin on: December 20, 2022, 09:52:50 PM
Hello everyone I am very excited today as finally my boss has agreed to pay in Bitcoin. After losing at my first attempt in Cryptocurrency as I thought that wealth falls like rain here I was brought back to reality with losses I got a little job on the side although a small amount paying job I think it is okay for me and I can get back on my feet.

Ever since I started working I have always been talking to my boss and coworkers about Cryptocurrency and after persisting they started to give me listening ears, I made sure to also tell them my experience and made sure they got my picture.

Along the line my boss got very much interested in cryptocurrency especially in Bitcoin. Assisted him in creating his Bitcoin wallet and taught him all I could, it surprised me when he finally accepted to pay me in Bitcoin and has giving it as an option to other workers, it's a big joy for me and I believe they are also talking about cryptocurrency to their friends and family too, just got my first payment in Bitcoin this evening.
I’m happy for you, good job. But my worry is if you are receiving bitcoin, can you keep it for the next 3-5 years and expect a higher value? Or you’re just going to convert some of it to cater for your own expenses? But whatever your plan is, I’m glad because you have made a promotion for bitcoin adoption. I just hope that you will be more responsible in keeping your bitcoin safe and sound.
1446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Solution to Address the Problem of Gambling in Australia. on: December 20, 2022, 09:24:14 PM
It's nice to see them taking action, trying to stop gambling problem but this will only limit them. With crypto gambling booming, the problem will always be there. There are still crypto gambling sites that doesn't implemented KYC and you can easily used a VPN if your country is banned but still kudos to their government. Tbh, I can't think of any better solution with the technology we have. Illegal operators, as well as players will always find a way.
Gambling will always be around for good, and this gambling problem will also become inevitable if gamblers will always gamble without limits and caution. However, with this new solution to address this problem gambling, I believe it will really create changes and difference. Though it won’t stop gambling addiction, but at least now it will be controlled and gambling sites will also be sanctioned if they are caught still accepting credit cards for betting payment.
1447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are we ever going to see this on gambling platforms some day. on: December 19, 2022, 09:59:08 PM
Is there any fighting game like Mortal Kombat where you challenge gamers around the world taking a bet?

Not possible or maybe considered. The fact is, the market is too small for that kind of game.

Who else will gamble on those? Only those players who well know the game unlike in traditional online casino games where even a passerby or new one can play right away without learning the game mechanics. But maybe who knows in the future but don't hoped for that.

It's possible if you will organized a competition like that. You can start with social media thru Facebook groups and create awareness there.
You cannot expect for a casino to play something like that. Personally, that is only good if the rest of the bettors are skillful as you but if not, it will be a loss for a casino since no gamblers will stick to that kind of game. Gamblers need to be entertained, that is why casinos have made sure that all their games are well entertaining and are challenging, even if most it are played with luck alone. For now, I think casinos will never adopt that but maybe in the future who knows.
1448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slow down if you want to recover your losses on: December 19, 2022, 09:43:39 PM
I ain't recovering nothing. If I already lose a big amount, then that means that that day/session is not for me. Only ever lost $20 a session so there's no point chasing those after I lost them on each week. But yeah, this strategy works if you want to get something back from what you spent on your gambling, or at least recoup some of your losses in the process. You will, most definitely, not get 100% returns on what you put out especially in gambling (unless you're really lucky and all that).

Also, how is Martingale equivalent to slowing down your bets Huh
Probably, when you are already in the verge of losing, it’s better to just call it off and just come back again when you think you are ready to lose  since gambling is designed to make us lose and make the house at its profits. Unless if you are too lucky to chase all your losses and even surpass it, then it’s a working strategy for you but it will not guarantee us that we can rely on that. Or if you want to test all yourself if you can really beat the house, then go for it but always gamble on the amount you can always manage to lose.
1449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 17, 2022, 06:32:22 PM
Regarding Inoue, he says that he can go as high as featherweight division, at 126 lbs.

So that will be a big accomplished indeed if he can jump as high as the featherweight, not sure though if  this is the final weight class for him. Maybe he can push as high as 130 lbs in the future.

And besides, those champion in 122 lbs might be soon jumping to 126 lbs as well, so the chase is still there. Fulton for one has been saying that he might just to 126 lbs, but hopefully we can see him and Inoue fight at super bantamweight with the belt on the line.

I have no doubts about that he could climb as high as 126 lbs. but I seriously do think that it's best for him at the moment to take his time first and climb the respective weight class before he reaches 126 lbs. as that is much safer as well because he will be used to the weight rather than climbing directly and risks the chances that he will be surprised with what the weight class could give him and the guys who are much natural in that category.
He's still 29 years old, so there's no need to be hasty because his weight will be more natural as he grows older.
1450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: December 17, 2022, 06:03:35 PM

And that gives him an upper hand because of what he learned on his experience, being aggressive can only do good if you can give your opponent the element of surprise but how about if the opposite happens where that same opponent is already expecting for you to do it? So, yes, just like you said, it will be an expensive mistake. Tank already learned his lesson that is why now he is thinking few steps ahead before engaging.

A kind of adjustments which mostly work well when inside the ring, analysing your opponents in a few rounds and then try to re-create a good strategy to win the fight, Davis will do his best for sure, as he knows that Garcia will also do the same, a good fight to watch out if both will win their separate fight next year.

They have an early year upcoming fight before meeting each other inside the ring. It would be a good hypes but both need to win
to bring more fans' attentions and support.

Not anymore because Ryan Garcia and his camp cancelled his own tune-up fight against Gesta this January, now, Tank Davis will be the one who will be having his tune-up fight in the same month against another Garcia. It is not clear why but I bet they had a good reasons why they cancelled it and will just prepare and train ahead while Davis is still busy on his fight.
1451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: December 17, 2022, 05:32:51 PM
So far I consider David Benavidez as the favorite to win this fight, Benavez in May beat David Lemieux while Caleb Plant beat Anthony Dirrell by KO in the 9th round, while Benavez beat David Lemieux in the 3rd round, I imagine that the fight will be much more difficult on Benavidez's side because his defense is questionable, Plant will take advantage of that and if the fight goes on for a long time then Plant will have greater advantages to win the fight, and in the in my opinion Plant seems more like the type of fighter who has more resistance in the fight, so the longer the rounds he has the greater chances of winning because the opponent will be weakened

Reading your comments here raised my eyebrows. So this fight is not yet signed?

Caleb ‘Sweethands’ Plant has revealed on his Instagram account that he’s inked his contract to face interim WBC super middleweight champion David Benavidez early next year.

For his part, the 25-year-old Benavidez (26-0, 23 KOs) already announced the fight to the media last weekend that his management has set him up with the Plant (22-1, 13 KOs) fight for “March” of 2023.

This is the fight Benavidez needs to establish hims

source: https://www.boxing247.com/boxing-news/caleb-plant-vs-david-benavidez-in-early-2023/253460

https://www.instagram.com/calebplant/

It seems to me that everything is already set for the fight next year, I only see people talking about March of next year, but I don't understand why they don't mention the day of the fight since it's already December

Well, that clears the issue regarding their upcoming fight. It's been revealed already that this fight is already official but I'm leaning on the reasons that they haven't got the right date yet to put the fight. As we all know, organizers will bring the date where they maximize their profit and they are also clearing who will fight in their undercards. Hopefully they can finalize everything before this year ends so that the fans of the respective camps can prepare as well.
1452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 17, 2022, 05:11:55 PM
Great time for the future franchise players of GSW to shine now that Steph is out and some of the vets could not play on a consistent basis.
....

Voting for the NBA ALL-STAR will start pretty soon. I'm not really into this but I'm looking forward to the young stars that would likely get voted. Zion and Ja are already secured in my opinion and then you have Doncic and Tatum who are still in their early 20's.

If Curry can't play for 2 weeks, it would be a really big opportunity for other players. If they lose a match because Curry is not playing, they will suffer a huge loss, so the players who will replace Curry must show a very high performance.

2 weeks seems long enough to think but I bumped an article earlier and Steve Kerr said that Stephen Curry will be resting for at least 2-3 weeks to heal his shoulder injury, the MRI shows that his injury is not that serious. So, hopefully he'll be back before Christmas. In the meantime, the rest of the roster should do their job while Curry's away and I do think that they can manage because they've been in this situation last season too.
1453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 17, 2022, 04:48:32 PM
I guess Kawhi and PG13 are playing now as they are heavy favorites. Clippers -6.5

I'll take this one, I believe with PG13 and Kawhi Leonard, they will be there to dominate the opposing team. They even beat the Celtics which is better than the Wiz, so this one should be easy.

I do agree. The Clippers will play with Leonard on the floor, however, Paul George has been listed questionable with left knee soreness and two other players from their team won't be joining. With that much spread, there's a big chance that the Clippers duo will be seen on the hardwood and they will host the game as well, let's look forward that they will bounce back after their loss against the Suns the other day.
1454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Mercito Gesta (January) on: December 17, 2022, 12:10:52 PM
Exactly, they don't want to ruined that chance to fight against each other, so they'll need to beat their respective opponent. It's a good tuneup fight for Garcia as he would fight an aggressive fighter which has a similar style of Tank Davis. Garcia has the power and speed, I'm not sure if Gesta will survive a 12 rounds fight if he wants some kind of war in this fight.

It’s hard to understand Garcia, he says that he’s had enough of intermediate fights, and he wants to fight Tank, but despite this, he agreed to fight with Gesta, his behavior is often strange, he has already disrupted two fights in a row in 2021, citing to mental problems. And yet, it seems to me that Garcia will not be able to defeat Tank, this is too difficult an opponent for him.

Maybe he doesn't want to wait too long, and both camps have probably agreed a fight date that is far from now, and I would understand that both camps just want to have a tuneup fight before that big fight, but they have to ensure they'll be fine and they'll win impressively against their respective opponents.
1455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: December 17, 2022, 11:44:39 AM
Just to let everyone knows that Ryan will not go to on a tune up fight before a Tank Davis clash.

He will rather have to wait for Davis to win against Hector Garcia then him waiting for the next 2-3 months next year. It could be a advantage or disadvantage for Ryan Garcia, advantage as he could focus and train just for Davis in that span of time. Or disadvantage because of ring rust  because it is close to a year without him fighting.

I think it doesn't matter for Ryan. But one thing that will go for him is that the time, he will have a lot of it to train that hard because this is a huge fight and his body going to the period of getting in 136 lbs much longer, and then he will be fresh during the May fight.

As for Davis he will have to go to a battle and who knows, maybe he will be soften by Hector Garcia in their fight and give Davis a very difficult fight.

All in all, we just wanted to see this huge fight next year and no more delays.

Anything could happen, and our expectations could be ruined if one of them will lose in their respective fight. Davis has a tougher opponent compared to Ryan Garcia, so he has a better tuneup fight which will make him more prepared for this big event next year.
1456  Economy / Economics / Re: Forget a return to office: We’re living in the age of side hustles on: December 16, 2022, 09:48:54 PM
Of course in this era there's many way to make money without need to work under your boss or company, but make sure you're need to have very good knowledge, skillful and has a wide connections. You can't just become a master of blockchain but you can't find the place how to sell your service, in this way you need a lot connection where someone can recommend your service to the clients that need it.

Honestly working your under boss or company doesn't have 100% guarantee you will not get kicked or fired, which mean every jobs has it own risk.
I guess it's the trend nowadays working as a freelancer, saving all the opportunities for your own self, without the need for a boss since you can be your own boss at your own work. However, for you to do that, you have to own some irresistible excellent qualities so that whatever work you're into, you'll definitely reach your client's high standards.
1457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 99% of People Will Lose Crypto in Self Custody on: December 16, 2022, 08:57:20 PM
Recently, when people are withdrawing their money to personalized wallets, CZ says that  out of these people 99% of them will lose money, as only 1% of the people are capable of handling the non-custodial wallets.

‘99% of People' Will Lose Crypto Storing in Self-Custody: Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao

He may be right because most people do not understand the risk, if they are not careful they could lose all their crypto.  Some may lose their private keys and others may connect their wallet at scam sites and they will be deprived of their funds.

Education and understanding of non-custodial wallets is necessary.  A lot of people have move funds out of binance recently, lets see if they know how to safeguard their bitcoin/ altcoins in these wallets.
CZ might have limit his opinion on those uneducated and illiterate people who are currently hodling their own coins, and expect that in the months or years to come, all those coins will be lose or easily gone. And it’s really true knowing they are incapable to manage the security of their own wallet. But for those who are well knowledge and are very careful with their own investments, non-custodial wallets are the best wallets to go.
1458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 16, 2022, 12:43:15 PM
My personal bet tonight are the Portland Trail Blazers, they are have been playing sensational in the past few games so I love to ride on their success. Playing against the Dallas on the road, this is certainly an exciting game, but definitely I see the + points as an opportunity, so I'm taking it.

Well, Portland had a 3 winning streak now while Dallas came from a disappointing loss against the Cavaliers. I think the home team will try to play hard so they'll be able to bounce back after a lose, but you are right, that +3.5 is just hard to resist, I see it as a good value that's why I agree with you on your pick.

I am also keeping an eye on the Warriors vs 76ers, I just don't get why the Warriors are +8 now, I think they are undervalued despite considering how bad they are on the road.
1459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 16, 2022, 12:10:09 PM
Can the SMB be able to come back in the 4th quarter?

This is the opposite of what happened in game 1, it's now the Bay Area Dragons who are dictating the game, so let's see if SMB will be able to turn things around in the last quarter of the game. It's a must-win for them as they can't go down 2-0 as that would look like they'll be eliminated early or even be swept.

unfortunately, they weren't able to come back. I wasn't expecting the result of this game, I thought it was a close game and SMB will try to even the series, but look at what happened? once again Bay Area Dragons showed their dominance on PBA teams, and that's SMB, one of the best teams in the PBA.

I think it's not necessary for Powell to come back as Nicholson is very well fitted to the team.

114-95, it's a big win by Bay Dragons, and they have Nicholson who scored 34 while SMB's import only made 14 points from 6/15 shooting.
1460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: December 16, 2022, 11:05:44 AM
Marcos Villegas from fight hub tv just had a recent interview with Derrick James and they are showing Errol doing just fine after the accident, said he just have some bruises, nothing major. They also tackled about the possibility for a Spence - Crawford fight, but Derrick does not show any hints for the fight to happen sooner, instead he gives no comment about it as we might not able to see it. I'm not really sure who's camp is really ducking and who's really pursuing it.
Derrick even said, he doesn't care about the fight lol.

Yes, this is the link for those who wanted to hear straight from James mouth, hehehe

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK45-j6DLio

And so if the fight between his Spence and Crawford is not going to be made in the future then I don't see them being one of the best in this division. Old Manny Pacquiao chooses to fight Thurman.

Anyway, I don't see them in the top 10 though of the greatest in the list, only Manny and Floyd in my recent memories should be mentioned.

Can't compare Manny with these two fighters because Manny does not afraid of anyone, he is willing to risk his good record, even fight a younger champion and beat the champ. These two fighters seemed to be talking so loud but had no intention of entertaining the fight by giving them a big fight.

Spence and Crawford choose to fight a different oppent instead of getting into an undisputed fight to know who is the best in their division.
