2421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Estrada vs Chocolatito WBC, WBA & Ring Magazine Unification Fight on: March 15, 2021, 09:18:06 AM
This was a really good fight. Both guys threw over 1,000 punches and it was a really close fight, the fight of the year so far. I thought maybe Gonzalez deserved to win by a couple points. There will probably be a third fight and we will see very close odds again with Gonzalez being a slight favorite.
Wow, Estrada defied the odds, congratulations to those who bet on Estrada because they are going to get a lot of money with most odds favoring Chocolatito. A third match is going to be the final nail in the coffin as to who is the best of the two, this gave me the idea of a personal betting where you are betting as to whether there is going to be a third match.
2422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will NFT bring any change in crypto gambling industry? on: March 15, 2021, 08:36:13 AM
I don't think that NFT will change the gambling landscape that much because what can they contribute to it in the first place besides the possibility that they can be a token that you can get when you win in your games. Maybe if the NFT that the gambling website/house is going to use is going to go up in value then maybe, there will be some changes.
2423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: World’s Ultimate Strongman - Strength Island on: March 15, 2021, 08:02:29 AM
Here it goes , Finally the event is declared happening now.. I have been waiting for the announcement since the pandemic comes yet nothing goes on.

But now that here it is , i will seek for my Friends/betting Buddies again .

our Last gambling together is back in 2018 and since then we stopped following the event , But now lets see what happens and who will Win the bets  Grin Grin Grin
I didn't know that there was a betting for this kind of tournament, I guess that as long as there are winners and losers then there will be bets. I don't know that many strong mans but why isn't the dude(I forgot the name) from the Game of Thrones there, Eddie Hall, Brian Shaw and Robert Oberst aren't included in the competition, the three strong man was in the History Channel show about strong men in the history.
2424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fate or lack of control - Gambling on: March 15, 2021, 07:25:52 AM
~
I agree. That is the main reason of losing money, the lack of control and letting your emotions decide for you.I have been at that stage and the way I have come out of addiction is I set a really small limit for gambling and if I lose I stop there,if I win I save that money for buying a graphic card for mining later by adding also some money from my pocket.
Good for you that you are slowly recovering from your addiction too, my advise is with incremental decrease in the money that you are spending in gambling, try to do some shock decrease on what you are spending from time to time, make it random so you don't have any chance of losing progress. Good luck on getting that graphics card that you want to save, I hope that you are getting close to your goal.
2425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake bets on: March 15, 2021, 06:36:21 AM
In my opinion, the use of such methods in attracting an audience negatively affects both the reputation of the gaming site and the streamer who, to put it mildly, misleads his viewers. Both sides are well aware of the risks associated with this kind of promotions. And how to act each decides for himself. I personally believe that such a streamer is not worthy of my attention no matter how good his content is.
That is if the clients/audience spot that this bets are a fake in the first place. It doesn't really matter for an average player to play even if the advertisement of the gambling website is deceiving, it has been that way for a long time and we don't care at all. Regarding the promoter, they don't really need to face the backlash because they might've not known about the fake bets in the first place but if they do so, I think that it is a matter of principle whether they are going to accept it or not.
2426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does knowing your sport and teams really make you better at betting on them? on: March 15, 2021, 06:01:54 AM
You should always lessen the risk if you are going to bet, and the only way to do that is to know what and who are you betting on, of all the gambling form, sports betting is less risky, provided that you know who and what to bet, compare to dice and slot games where you never know when you are going to lose or win or if luck is in your side.
Not knowing the team that you are betting on is like going into a war without knowing how to shoot a gun or fight. Dice and slots is not luck based though, it is more on the chances and probability side which is difficult to explain so we just say that it is luck that makes us win or lose.
2427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Internet connectivity - Gambling wins/losses on: March 15, 2021, 05:24:10 AM
I've also experienced some connection timeouts but I doubt it had an impact on my overall wins and losses. I never thought of it that way since it's very unlikely that the outcome would suddenly change only because of a connection issue unless it's from a third party provider and even then most of their games usually have an auto save feature so if you lost connection you'll still be able to claim your winnings.
Yeah, it is outside the operation of the gambling site, the rolls and spins are predetermined the moment that you roll or spin it, the reason that it looks like the Internet connectivity seems to be the problem is because we have an ingrained thought that it is the Internet that is the problem and that we can't find any valid reason. Auto-save is a lifesaver, the Internet in my country is really crappy so whenever there is a disconnection on the Internet, I am always safe because I know that my spin will not be in vain.
2428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a lone bettor or a competitive one? on: March 15, 2021, 04:46:20 AM
I think i'm somewhere in between as I place bets regularly and still join contests or tournaments whenever i'm interested in them like the NFL survivor pools, tipster competitions  and the previous multimaster from sportsbet. If I have to choose one i'd probably put myself in the lone bettor side for now since I haven't participated in any tournaments or competitions recently and the biggest tournament i've joined was last year's nfl survivor pool.
I think that this is the right ratio, playing some sort of competition is good. I don't really know if there is any difference between the two though as in both betting type, you aim to win a lot more than lose. Personally, I am a lone bettor but that was a long time ago when I was still spending most of my day gambling.
2429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fate or lack of control - Gambling on: March 15, 2021, 04:13:58 AM
Pretty obvious that the reason that you are losing big time is that you lack control, believing in fate makes you just think that we don't have any free will in the first place although free will is debatable, I don't think that we should blaming and crediting our actions to invisible forces because it shows that we lack the ability to be someone that is responsible.
2430  Economy / Speculation / Re: Microstrategy keep buying bitcoin. How if they become the biggest BTC HODLer? on: March 13, 2021, 10:05:00 AM
Then they will be able to manipulate the market wherever they want it to go, as simple as that, they can sell portions of what they currently hodl to make the prices go down or short the market. The only way to survive that is to continually hodl bitcoin, as long as you have some in your possession, you don't have to worry about it.
2431  Economy / Economics / Re: holding bitcoin from early 2010 till today on: March 13, 2021, 09:24:15 AM
Personally I do not know anyone who had known bitcoin in 2010 itself or being holding from that point, but sure we will have quite a few who would have just kept and forgotten or just kept holding the bitcoin and now would just be millionaire if they had bought few coins also at that point of time.
It is a rare thing to be honest and kudos to that person if he/she still has been hodling been bitcoin since 2010 without the temptation to sell it during the periods where we saw ATH. Forgotten coins are definitely a possibility but we don't have to worry about something that is already lost.
2432  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Art record! 69M for a Beeple on: March 13, 2021, 08:45:51 AM
I wonder who are those guys spending that much of money for an art, this can be a good market for them and a lot of money to spend for.

NFT are growing, and It think this year will be the best year for them, so congrats to all the early supporters of NFT and for sure its not too late to join with them. Working with some arts now, let’s see if its worth to try.
You don't have to wonder who it is, it is definitely someone who is filthy rich that they don't know what to do with the excess money that they have so they spend it on art, we can't understand what is going through their mind but we have to consider that this arts are valuable tool that they can use for tax write offs if they want to by donating it. Hopefully your art will become the next big thing in the NFT industry.
2433  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Operation Hidden Treasure on: March 13, 2021, 08:05:33 AM
It's taking them a long time to "get ahead of the game".

I know companies that have actively been trying to spot tax evasion on crypto since 2017 and before, getting to it in 2021 is kinda lazy.

The IRS has also changed its mind on how crypto should be taxed too at least once since its inception and make minor changes that people probably shouldn't be assumed to be able to keep track of (it'd be useful if governments sent out newsletters when laws change as the news don't want to cover it)...
They are the government after all, this operation could have started if it weren't for the bureaucracy surrounding the operation and its approval to become operational. Companies have more leeway because they don't necessarily need to have any permits needed to fill out in the government, the money spent by the company is private so the government doesn't have that much say as to what they are going to spend their funds on, meanwhile in the government, taxpayer money is being spent and the government needs to make sure that it is spent the right way which doesn't happen quite often. I am glad that this operation is ready so we can finally stop bickering about mixers being used by wicked people.
2434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which plan seems better? on: March 13, 2021, 06:43:51 AM
If you want to risk more, then you can diversify between BTC and ETH but if you want to play if safe, just go all in on BTC. As simple as that.

Regarding that part on buying the dips, since I guess that you are new to all this, timing the market will be very hard for you, and possibly even frustrating (like being upset because you bought and right after that price went lower). What I would suggest you is to buy BTC/ETH once in a few weeks, preferably at the same date and keep on buying like that,so some sort of collar cost average method.
Diversifying at the start is not a good thing for starters, there isn't any profit yet so you have to focus on one thing then try to grow your capital in it and then diversify. Personally, both plans don't seem viable to me because if you put all-in in bitcoin and it grows, you will get more value out of it and bitcoin proved that it can grow exponentially with the evidence that the charts from past months showing a growth. Timing the buys will be difficult but it is a must if OP plans to buy bitcoin at dips.
2435  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: High Frequency Trading on: March 13, 2021, 05:39:37 AM
I have heard of this kind of thing back then but it was about the guy who put an algorithm that screws with the algorithm of the HFT, he was from the UK if I recall and what he did made the people from this HFT firms panicked because they are slowly losing their money, I forgot how the guy did it but the speed at which the stock prices gone down is definitely noticeable, I don't know the exact duration of the attack but it never reached an hour and I think billions of dollars were lost in that span of time.
I think what you are referring to is Navinder Sarao, the HFT was growing strong over the years so he decided to spoof the market that flooded the market with sell order that loops and that loop crashed the market. He was mentioned in the video if you check it out, I don't shill the video, I just find that it helps a lot that we know the context behind HFT and how it can be used in crypto market.
2436  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Axtrader.com Ponzi Scheme Offering 5% daily.. on: March 13, 2021, 05:00:22 AM
The scammers didn't even consider making a really good UI for their websites and the overall aesthetics is bland at best so I think that if they were to ever get clients, I think that those people deserve to get scammed because no legitimate business would want to look like this website and the 5% daily is such an attractive offer but at the same time suspicious AF. Good catch OP and good luck to those who think that they are going to get more money when they invested 250,000 USD in that website.
2437  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Atomic wallet fake gift on: March 13, 2021, 04:24:42 AM
That's a huge amount if Atomic wallet is going to launch a giveaway, they are going to announce it in their official social media account or through their subscribers in their newsletter so only legit users of Atomic wallet can participate, but I doubt if they are or can launch such huge giveaway, people should be careful on giveaway always do research and verify it.
Atomic wallet is already a big name in the crypto industry and I don't think that out of the blue they are going to do some giveaway, maybe their anniversary in the industry can be an excuse but that celebration doesn't warrant that much amount of money. Hopefully, no one got duped by this phishing attempt because I feel bad for Atomic wallet getting their name tainted by the people who were an unknowing victim of some impersonator.
2438  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] BITKINGZ - Ponzi Scheme on: March 13, 2021, 03:44:26 AM
This is not actually true, there are truly a wisen up victim that would never fall back to be scammed anymore, such ones that got continuously to be duped are fools roaming around to get some free stucks. So every victim have a mindset of turning out of been scammed by reading or remaining asking questions of how to buy to fall more victim.
They might have been wised up by the first scam that they have fallen but if there are other elaborate scams out there that that person will fall upon, I think that it will be debatable whether that person is going to fall for that scam again or not because the chances that they might be a victim of another scheme is highly likely. Maybe if the victim is a smart one in the first place, he/she may not fall for other tricks again with the rule of thumb that anything too good to be true is definitely a scam.
2439  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: High Frequency Trading on: March 13, 2021, 03:00:03 AM
So basically the ones with the most optimized toys get all the goodies in the field? It'll be easy to make profits in the cryptocurrency market if that's the case. I'm pretty sure crypto trading bots already have those elements in their algorithms, although they cannot execute fast enough unlike HFT bots. Tons of optimization would be required to achieve the numbers of what the stock market HFT offers, and it's no easy feat IMO.
The load on the crypto market is going to be big because the fastest trading bot that I can remember was around 270,000 trades per blink of an eye, maybe if exchanges have their own infrastructures to be able to do the workload without a hitch. Isn't that the rule a long time ago, those in power get the good toys to play with?
2440  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: High Frequency Trading on: March 12, 2021, 09:33:33 AM
I am not sure about this term "High Frequency Trading" but in crypto we call it day trading where people buy and sell on the same day and get some profits. Some people do trading with a program more specifically  a bot who will keep track of the market and will trade automatically. A bot woks good in a steady market like stock but sometimes it is not useful in a volatile market such as crypto.
HFT doesn't involve human intervention after the algorithm was created, it is in a way an AI that does hundreds of thousands of trading which beats anything humanly possible trading. This is a better alternative to day trading because it buys the lowest price. Trading bots will work if the code behind it is really good, there are some equations that can be used for it so it can still trade efficiently in a volatile market. You should watch the video, I highly recommend it  Grin Grin.
