I noticed you just just changed the title from scam to hoaxing
Hoaxing is definitely a more accurate term here. No money was scammed but did he create fake popularity in NEM and that's scandalous, no one can argue otherwise, but I don't think it's a severe thing since practically every coin pads up interest in the beginning with fake accounts (it's a marketing technique).

The title is misleading. UtopianFuture didn't scam anyone out of money - all he did was create fake accounts, at the very beginning, to make NEM look more popular than it really was. No different than having fake likes on Facebook. This doesn't change NEM's distribution or it's huge positive community.
Satoshi back in 2009 was probably posting under a dozen aliases to make Bitcoin look more popular and exciting than it was at the time. Does that make Bitcoin a scam?

Satoshi likely posted under different aliases, at the very beginning, to make Bitcoin look more popular than it really was
its beyond me how u can come up with such impudent excuses now. are u not ashamed? do u want to challenge utopianfuture TaunSew? :0 No, if I were my project I would not be ashamed about it. It's a legitimate tactic, for a brand new coin, to utilize different alises to make a coin look popular. I think it succeeded. NEM was nothing at the very beginning but later it attracted reputable developers and a huge community. The past doesn't change the present.

UtopianFuture did not have to resign - all he did was create accounts to pump up interest (he later removed his accounts from the list), many developers and project leaders have done that for almost every coin out there. Satoshi likely posted under different aliases, at the very beginning, to make Bitcoin look more popular than it really was.
NEM is far from dead - the price is still within normal range and most people are still standing behind the coin. Come back in a week and NEM's price will still be the same if not higher.

Panic!! Everyone dump your stakes at $500, so GorillaJam and Dakota can buy them on the cheap.
NxT didn't die when BCnext fled. So UF created sockpuppets to pad interest (not to profit) in NEM? He already resigned but he didn't have to, imho.
i have a good advise, buy up all the stakes to raise NEMs value in order to make utopianfutures 100+ secret stake accounts happy and realise his "financial freedom" which was the hidden agenda of NEM after all what a fucking joke No he would had been found out in taint analysis. Remember, UF handed the analysis over to other people. Only thing UF did was pad up interest with fake stakeholders. No different than how celebrities have fake followers on twitter. There's no secret 100+ stash TaunSew u can try hard now. do it full time, it wont help either at this point. Sorry about that You are right. *sob* I'll sell my stake to buy your scam NxT, Qora or whatever you are peddling.

UF's assertion was he did make sockpuppets but only to pump up interest in NEM, and later deleted them from the list.
I doubt he made hundreds of accounts. I was on the list in the beginning and it became popular almost right away.
Sorry I'm on a mobile, can you point out where he deleted it from the list , well apart from the sock today? Read what he wrote. I'm mobile, atm.

I love that there were ~70 stakeholders for NXT and NXTers are saying NEM is compromised because of 1 sock puppet among 3,000 stakeholders. It goes to show how hungry the competition was for some negative NEM publicity.
I only see him with two accounts, which is legal if the second stake is meant for someone else. People keep claiming he has multiple sock puppet accounts but that doesn't seem to be the case until someone can prove it. The cautious and appropriate point of view would be the opposite from your own. You need to prove to us he doesn't have more sock puppet accounts. Its not the other way around. Not true. That's a logical fallacy called negative proof.

Other then Ghosthouse, what other sockpuppets does UF have? Can anyone name a third? If not then don't claim so.
Having a second account is legal given the context. What's scandalous is this sim coin thing but honestly I don't know anything about that coin / don't care.
Why are you so keen on defending the actions of UF? Serious question. Don't ad hominen me, it's a logical fallacy. I'm not 'defending anyone', I'm challenging the claim by trolls that UF is a sockmaster but no one has shown a third account or more. The whole reason why everyone is tumbling over one another is because of the all the "preaching" UF has done about fairness and being trustworthy and all the stuff about being transparant, making contracts... And now we see he has at least two different accounts with stakes on the stakeholder list (before they were removed). That's something that removes you from my trust list immediately. Trust is all we have and when the "founder" of a coin doesn't tell anyone he has several other accounts.... Do I really need to go on? Which was the second account? If you're saying he had two more, in addition to the main UF account, then I see validity

Where are the extra sockpuppet accounts? I only see an second account - which is legal for him to claim if it's meant for a second person.. but it's unethical..

Never understood how they managed to convince Richard Branson and other billionaires / millionaires to throw money at them You mean to throw money into QRK? I never heard of milionaires messed with QRK coin..

I mentioned earlier that something like achievements could be nice too (like steam, xbox live, khan academy)

i'm undecided, is it better to buy a stake now , Or will there be a massive dump after it hits the exchange i want in, i just don;t want to pay 20 x more Hard to tell, but I think the valuation will be 10x what it is now when launch comes, so even if you buy now I don't think you will lose anything in the long term. You think it will launch at 50 million dollars? i can't recall one coin which has ever launched at that market cap, aurora? Due to bad math. That was when Gliss (dp*) on coinmarket cap was including the unowned premine for country coins. I don't think the owned part of Aurora was $50 million at any point

This story reminds me of the .com days when high school kids were taking their allowance from their parents and started day trading. There were plenty of stories like this when everyone was printing money!
Dot.com was a $7 trillion bubble. Coins have a l00000ng way to go
