I second that as well, I'm also concerned about how long institutional Investors joining the network intend to stay with Bitcoin, quite a lot of users have voiced their concern on the influx of these investors and if they are just going to pull out sometime soon, taking their ROI and what that will do to the Bitcoin network, negatively of course. But I beg to agree with you, it doesn't look like these investors are short term investors judging by how much money they are investing/hedging with, I also believe the network will recover and find another factor to propel it forward, evading a serious crash if these investors back out sooner rather than later.
Well, with the amount they are pouring in bitcoin, I think that they are planning on manipulating the market because the only way you can influence the prices in the market, no matter what market it is is by volumes which means that in the long term accumulation they might have already projected that they are going to have more benefits than doing a short stint in the market. It does raise some concern but overtime as the demand goes up, it will be more difficult for this companies to accumulate those bitcoins.

Congratulations to you, need to work harder now that a you have a baby. It is a good initiative that you want to teach your kid bitcoin someday but I hope that you won't force the kid to learn it so as not to hinder the children's growth and who he really wants to be when he grows up, we have to accept it, our kids will not be our clone no matter what.

Wow Congrats, you are lucky then. I hope someday I can have some child on my own. I envy cause I really wanted to have my own child but definitely not this time anyway, goodluck :-)
Don't be envious to the people that has a child, they are ready to have a responsibility (well, some of them are ready) and that means another increase in your expenses, enjoy your childless days where you only worry about nothing but what to it, take this time to make more money and have a secure life when you are ready to have a kid.

mentor and groom him into becoming the best he can
Groom is not the best word for this kind of thing, just saying.

It is too early for me to say Bitcoin surpasses silver.  Because silver has been around for a long time and is considered a valuable commodity.  Right now Bitcoin is still hype because big companies are starting to invest but if they suddenly back down on Crypto investing, I'm sure Crypto will collapse in lightning fast.
Not to mention that the silver is more than just a jewelry as it is used for electronics together with other precious metals. Maybe crypto will collapse or maybe it won't but one thing is for sure, if the global adoption rate of bitcoin continues at the current pace, I think that we can surpass silver in the long run but who knows what will happen as we are all just speculating the events that hasn't happened yet. I don't think companies would easily back down from their investment in crypto, they are in it for the long term AFAIK.
2444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its coming i faster and would shock most people on: March 12, 2021, 06:47:26 AM
Ehh I'd like to be optimistic and think that businesses likes to hold their crypto but no, most probably not. They're accepting payments through BitPay, which businesses mostly use so they wouldn't need to actually hold cryptocurrencies as the crypto payments are automatically converted to fiat the moment they receive the payment. Even if they'd want to hold crypto, it'll most probably be a tax nightmare.
Well, at the least they are contributing to the economic circulation of cryptocurrency nonetheless. Now that you mention it, don't you think that it will be a good loophole for taxes that they are going to hodl the profits in bitcoin and other cryptocurrency? Coz AFAIK, there isn't any laws that is tackling that loop.
2445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With a clogged network, users will start abandoning BTC for alts. Change my mind on: March 12, 2021, 06:15:48 AM
Not when the average guy using BTC doesn't even know how LN works and so few people/companies are accepting it.. The main problem is currently sitting on the main layer - second-layer solutions aren't imo real solutions to those issues.
It's not just the people's problem, everyone involved in bitcoin scene should do their part in making these problem go away, we can make infrastructures for the network so it can help with the speed and the people has to learn more about bitcoin and ways to do a faster transaction, with whining we will not get any progress.
2446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people care who Satoshi is/was? on: March 12, 2021, 05:40:29 AM
Besides basic curiosity who's the brilliant mind behind the Bitcoin creation, I don't. I guess most people don't care so much too.

But mysteries always attracts a certain type of people Cheesy
That is what made our species survive and evolved, we are curious with the things that we don't understand so we try and satisfy our curiosity by doing everything we can to find the answer. I don't know why they want to find who the real satoshi is but I think that stopping them to look for satoshi is just suppressing what humans really are.
2447  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: High Frequency Trading on: March 12, 2021, 05:02:30 AM
Will it be used on the cryptocurrency market?

Surely, but the resources needed are not given to everyone. Mainly banks, hedge funds, etc are using it. In the US, they even use what we use to call the "dark fiber" to get a super-high-speed internet connection. Oh, I should mention, the infrastructures for this fiber are paid with citizens' taxes. It's like if, during a war, you pay the tanks for your enemies.

It also needs very developed algorithms and I'm not exaggerating telling you some worth more than a million-dollar
When these entities will enter the market, it is more than likely that they will use the same methods in their race for profits.

Will it face any problem?

I don't see why. If this is not a problem in traditional finance there is no reason it should be any different in the crypto market.
Except for the problem that we could ask ourselves some ethical questions. Namely that as in finance it disadvantages people who do not have the resources I was talking about previously. We will not be on an equal level.

But since people don't seem to care, I don't see why they would start when HTF will be used with the crypto market.
Perhaps it's already in use without we notice it.
Some trading firms are even underground so they are closer to the fiber optics running underground but right now I think that in cryptocurrency market, it can be used because trading is slowly switching to microwaves satellite which is a little faster than fiber optics. The one problem mentioned in the video was that a bot to counter the algorithm of HFT can be used to make an artificial crash which made the HFTs after that attack more resilient but not attack proof. If a cryptofirm was to introduce this, I think that we should go and invest in it.
2448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does BITCOIN make a person's life better !? on: March 12, 2021, 04:01:20 AM
I am seeing it the other way around, most people are driven to work hard and do their best to achieve their dream of having a better life by earning a lot of money. However, people should stop seeing BTC as a means or tool to get rich fast. The market is highly volatile and with a strong belief or trust in BTC you can easily lose your money too. The market could crash in a snap, some investors even lose millions of dollars.
In a way, bitcoin did made a person's life better because of bitcoin they did strive to work and earn money. I also don't see bitcoin as a tool for getting rich but it can be an implement to help you on your journey into having a better life. Not everyone has a million to lose so I don't think that we have to worry that much with bitcoin crashing if we have invested a small amount on it.
2449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its coming i faster and would shock most people on: March 12, 2021, 03:26:46 AM
Bitpay makes it all possible. Businesses like hotels accepting BTC and stablecoins are entirely believable but wanting doge is pretty much funny. I like doge I have some doge but it's just too early for them to really think the coin is going to be a real investment yet since there is no assurance yet whether the quick rise of DOGE could be sustainable in the long run.
Maybe they want to get into the doge scene early and want to accumulate as much as possible, remember the 20k bitcoin pizza? That might be the same as this. I think that this is a good thing because with big business like hotel and other leisure services, the recognition of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is going to increase with more people seeing that their resorts are accepting cryptocurrency.
2450  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predicts $100k before end of the year on: March 11, 2021, 11:23:19 AM
We are still on the first quarter of the year so I think that there are more things that will happen along the way and with the current growth of bitcoin, I think that we can see that 100k USD is a possibility but we don't need to hang on to that speculation because in the end it is a speculation and speculations can go wrong, don't do anything stupid that you might regret when something that isn't in your control affects you negatively.
2451  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you define rich? on: March 11, 2021, 10:27:36 AM
It's depend on where we live. Some countries has high cost of living and some other has low cost of living. Maybe the closest way to define rich is by comparing the income and living cost, I think if we still can save 90% and above of our income then we are already rich people. But usually people pretend that rich people are those who can buy more luxury stuffs rather than other. Also for me being rich means that we can help poor people.
It doesn't depend on that in my opinion, if you are rich then you won't really have a problem where you are living because you are living in excess. For me, the definition of a rich person is someone that has enough money to raise a family of more than 3 and have them live in comfort even if they have their own family. Well, people are right that rich people can buy luxury stuff because they have an excess of money and the point will come where they have to use those money for something and I think that splurging on luxury as a rich person is acceptable. I like your idea that being rich means that someone is altruistic.
2452  Economy / Speculation / Re: If the FBI wallet with 141,000 bitcoins was stolen what would happen? :o on: March 11, 2021, 09:35:46 AM
If even someone manages to steal these 141k bitcoins, first he wont even realise he is stealing from FBI. Doubt that these addresses are marked somehow, or are known to public. Or something thinks that FBI wallet addresses starts with 1FBI.... or bc1FBI....3FBI... ? Cheesy Second - FBI wont make this official. Community wont even know that FBI got robbed.
That someone that is going to steal the bitcoin will know that he/she is stealing from FBI because the only logical place that you would put those wallets containing the bitcoin is the evidence room of the FBI. Well, not disclosing the robbery to the public will help with the investigation in a way that the culprit is going to think that he/she got away with the heist which makes them lower their guard and make a sloppy decision which could end up getting themselves caught.
2453  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC/USD Price Analysis - $72,000 will be the first target on: March 11, 2021, 08:51:33 AM
I will not trade on these current level price of Bitcoin.
I am afraid if Bitcoin will make a double top bearish pattern from its previous all-time-high.
But on the other hand, if it will manage to break the previous all-time-high I'll be more bullish, and $70,xxx region is gonna be the next level for Bitcoin. Btw, good spot for the ascending triangle pattern, which is a bullish pattern.
Understandable that no one wants to trade at this price point but I think that it could be an opportunity to do leverage trading because it can be an opportunity to make more money just by believing that bitcoin will go higher, I hope that it will reach that because if that were to happen that means that a 6 digit prices is going to be a possibility. By the way, shouldn't this thread be on the Speculation?
2454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a gift cards on: March 11, 2021, 08:17:36 AM
Bitcoin itself can be used as a gift. You don't have to buy any gift card to give anyone a gift in bitcoin.

Using Locktime for inheritance planning, backups or gifts
Dead man's switch. Website for more details about that service. It has Free and Premium accounts. 2 recipients max for Free accounts and 100 for Premium accounts. With locked gift bitcoin, I think the Free account is enough as gift sender will plan to do it with one or two people.
Why do all of this thing when you can easily do something simple like a cold wallet coins, they are more simple and easy to maneuver. Websites that involve safekeeping bitcoin or escrowing for a long time is not really a good idea as the website can shut down anytime and have all those escrowed bitcoin stolen right in front of your eyes. Make the gifts simple, it is the thought that counts at the end of the day. Bitcoin gift cards doesn't really ring any originality because as mentioned in the quote above, there are existing ways to do the same thing.
2455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to sell my BTC? on: March 11, 2021, 07:39:41 AM
If you feel like you already had a big profit margin then I think that you need to consider selling, waiting for the right time will end up with you not knowing to stop hodling and not reaping the benefits of your investment in bitcoin, again only if you feel like selling then sell it. Other thing to consider is that do you really need the money for your daily expenses because if not then you might have no use for it for awhile and you might have grown it more if you didn't sell it.
2456  Other / Archival / Re: Declaration of Sovereignty by Akihiko Ryōma July 5, 1999 on: March 11, 2021, 07:02:53 AM
You just wasted your time typing your post by saying that you are a liar, I won't read your article since I will deduce that everything that you are going to say is a lie. No matter how credible your evidences that you have provided, no one will believe you as I said earlier, you are a liar. Good job projecting your image as a liar, it does work.
2457  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bingswap.finance fake team and partnership Beware! on: March 11, 2021, 06:27:48 AM
This kind of thing were the scammers stole someone's identity directly warrants an investigation and some law enforcement involvement because this is clearly an identity theft and the only way that this kind of people will stop is when we are going to do something about, the indifference and people shrugging it off as just another scam is not of benefit to any but the scammers themselves. They really did some efforts in their website to make it look like they are a legitimate thing, to all the newbies out there, anything that your guts says that it is too good to be true is probably right so be careful.
2458  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: -=-=- Elon Musk Giveaway email scam -=-=- on: March 11, 2021, 05:33:02 AM
A legit giveaway, will not send their offer through emails to spam people if you receive a giveaway from a site that you did not subscribe to, do not believe it, and hit the spam button right away, it will save yourself from getting scam and it will save others too, because those emails will be marked spam, once many people who received it do the same thing.
Received this one on my giveaway email. I don't know how they've got my email to get into their spam but I made sure that what they are going to send to me next time is going to land on the spam folder. Good thing that there are still people fighting the good fight. And to every user especially the newbies, your greed will be your downfall and if you click on this email and got your funds stolen then you deserve what is coming to you.
2459  Economy / Trading Discussion / High Frequency Trading on: March 11, 2021, 05:00:00 AM
I am not that active on this discussion but sometimes I do lurk. And I think that this post is going to be relevant to the future of trading in general. I was watching a Youtube video about High Frequency Trading and I think that it will be the future of trading because the program can do trading faster than any human being. There is more in depth in the video but I will try my best to summarize HFT, consider that the stock price is around 10 USD and you ordered at that price but the prices dropped to 9 USD and HFT swoops in and buys at that price and then when your order arrives at 10 USD they are going to sell it to you with the profit of 1 USD. I am using stock as an example because the documentary that I watched was mostly focused on that. My question is, will HFT be feasible in the cryptocurrency market? Will it face any problem?

2460  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: March 10, 2021, 09:42:42 AM
Even our currency is very unstable against other dominant currencies so consumables are equally expected to be unstable. We here pretend to be developing a taste for our own products which we have the resources to produce. What surprises me is the fact that we still import common vegetables like tomatoes.
If we are so worried about prices of commodities like food going up, why don't we plant our own food, make a self sustaining garden to meet the daily needs, it can greatly cut your expenses because you don't need a lot of things to buy when you go to the market. I don't know the reason for your country to import tomatoes but maybe there is a shortage in the local supply or your country has an agreement with the other countries regarding imports.
