And that would have been fine but now there is another code review happening. How the hell does that relate to XChat? That's my point. If the sole focus is XChat, then XChat it is, but if you have time to take on another issue/product, then you have time to look into the issue I am having.

You don't get to decide Dan's priority list.

2462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: August 08, 2014, 04:19:39 PM

How do you know he is going to review their code before he helps you this afternoon?

You are coming across as extremely needy, IMO.  You are the only one that seems to have this problem.  I think Dan is being very gracious by spending some one on one time with you to try and figure it out.  I would find it surprising if Dan would give priority to another coin over his own project.

In my eyes, since you are the only one who can reproduce the bug, it is a relatively low priority.  Instead of complaining, you should be commending.

... what happens when more people start trying it out and run into the same issue I am having. Are you really going to say it's low priority then?

No, that is why I explicitly made the point that you are the only one.  At the company I work for, the reported bugs escalate as more hits are gained.  It is the only way to effectively develop software.

If more people were to complain about the same issue you are having, it is only logical that the priority would increase.

Oblox we've chatted about this issue before.

Your issue is related to Privacy Mode. This is a Rev 2 issue.

At the moment we're dealing with XChat. After this, we move onto the final Rev 2 release.

So Dan is being gracious in working with you to fix an issue that is not only isolated but also not at the top of XC's task list.

Please drop this. It's been discussed before.

...

This doesn't belong here. This is a thread about XC. I am sure there is a proper forum in which discussion about that issue should take place, but it's not here.

[More stuff about Jasin]

Organiser, this issue's relevance to XC has been settled. Please acknowledge this and stop repeating yourself.

I've followed your remarks on the Litecoin thread and am not enamoured of your approach.

I'd appreciate it if you'd not transplant it here.

I'm not trying to make waves but I remember the word was that the money needed for a proper advertising and marketing campaign was coming from the pre-mine. Or, maybe that's to advertise and market rev 3?

At the moment the pre-mine is paying all our devs. And there are several.

Every little bit helps.

Yes, pretty much all the crypto news sites are being contacted.

Basically the crypto world is finally realising that XC is not some marginal and shady project.

We've all known this for months - and for this our investments will be the most profitable - but it takes this long for the word to leak out.

What every bagholder needs to do is market the living daylights out of XC.

Most people in this community have gone all in, and so it's essential that we get new people involved.

If you can't put the price up by buying, put it up by raising awareness of XC's awesome tech!

The news yesterday was pretty amazing, but I'm shocked that we got almost no market response from it.

I dont think many ppl outside this thread knew about all the big news. The PR release should help with that  Cool

this, we are all loaded with xc to the max, I'm happy about yahoo finance but right now it would be more important that some more crypto related news outlets pick up the release like ccn did.
Is there any contact to coindesk and the likes? hope they plan some coverage.
I still think the majority in BCT  overlooks XC, most new members sound surprised when they post here the first time like they had a complete different picture of XC. but this will change in the next days and weeks.

So, who's money is being used here???

See my reply above. This has already been clarified.

Up next, we have the winner of the XC TOR Stick competition:

       520Bit

Also, thanks to the community's generous request, a second TOR Stick goes to:

        Mr_Random

...for his generous contribution to XC's fledgling PR effort.

Thanks Mr_Random! Your big-minded generosity put XC on the map; now we're out to conquer every inch of it.

The TOR Sticks will be shipped at the earliest possible date (possibly a fair bit earlier than the general public).

To the winners: send me a message on XChat and we'll arrange your TOR Sticks pronto.

Wooooo, incredible, more than 10 pages increased overnight. I never win a lottery, but I win the TOR Stick. Thanks to all the XC team.
I will send you a message on XChat once I get my laptop.

Hi Synechist, I just sent a msg to XDzTA6xMsx1FJkitgKaj3S9mMvPQEzN4w9 on XChat, did you get it?

Just fired up XChat. Message received!

Just a point of inquiry;

It cost about about 1/2 BTC to send out a press release.

https://ireach.prnewswire.com/orders/price-options.aspx

Our PR campaign is through PRweb and cost $500.

In this case it was funded personally by Dan. The final Rev 2 release will be funded by the community's donations to the PR Fund!

What ever happened to praticos donation of $500? I recall that it was to be used specifically for rev2
"The final Rev 2 release will be funded by the community's donations to the PR Fund!"

Firstly, if it was funded by one community member, I think credit should be given to him. Secondly, it is still unclear if it is praticos $500 being used because XC also held a community fund raiser to raise $500 to match praticos $500, in which case pratico was going to donate an additional $500.

So, who's money is being used here???

Aha, my mistake. Pratico's donation is for Rev 2, and the community's is for Rev 2.5.

Comes to the same thing either way: generous XC supporters. :-)

Concerns about Jasin

Thank you atomicchaos.

However we've been well informed of this issue, have responded publicly, and have encouraged community members to read up on progress with Jasin's ASIC project on its litecoin thread.

This is my opinion about this situation:

  • Jasin is not an “employee” of XC, and his projects operate completely independently of XC. Thus XC is neither involved in nor affected by the status of his ASIC project.
  • Jasin has been frank, apologetic, and has remained in communication on the Litecoin thread about developments pertaining to the ASIC project.
  • On the Litcoin thread, Jasin's stated reason for not disclosing information about the reasons for the delay of the ASICs at an earlier stage is that he did not want to spook the developer before he could get the funds back from him. There are no reasons to doubt this statement.
  • Jasin is a businessman with several ventures, which is entirely the norm. Unfortunately this has led some people to conclude that his other ventures, like XC, are diluting his energies. However it is unreasonable to assume that businessmen should not have multiple ventures, or that their energies are thereby diluted. In fact, Jasin is energised, not distracted, by the synergistic potential of his various ventures.

In the light of the above, my conclusion is that Jasin has acted honestly and in good faith, and that this situation does not impinge on Jasin's character in any way.

Furthermore, Jasin's reputation incentivises him to defend it and make amends. As a result I believe that he will take satisfactory action in due course.

I'm sad that I just heard about this coin.

It's just beginning.

XC hasn't even launched officially yet.

Don't worry, you're here in good time. Check out the timeline in the opening post...
