2461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: please help,thanks everyone on: January 27, 2014, 05:22:13 PM
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory#Mac

By default Bitcoin will put its data here:
Code:
~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/

If you already has a wallet.dat, bitcoin-qt will not generate a new one for you.
Check if you have renamed your original wallet.dat, or if you have deleted it.
2462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Fix wallet [wallet.dat corrupt - salvage failed] on: January 27, 2014, 05:18:56 PM
animecoin? What is it?
Have you tried using pywallet.py?
2463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I send bitcoin from MultiBit but they never arrived on: January 27, 2014, 05:13:49 PM
(There may be other possibilities that I have not thought of).

It is possible the recipient was using mtgox to receive the funds, and mtgox was having issues again lol.

Anyway, if OP checks blockchain.info (or the other sites I posted) and finds the tx confirmed, then it is pretty much the recipient's responsibility to fix problem on his end.
2464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin -qt on: January 27, 2014, 05:07:10 PM
...delete the ones I don't want in there.

Right now, there is no easy way you can delete your address in bitcoin-qt.
You can still do it, but there is just no need to do so.
If you don't want to use that address, you could have labelled it as "old" or whatever to remind yourself.
2465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin -qt on: January 27, 2014, 05:04:17 PM
it showed that it is fully syn.

Then perhaps there are no bitcoins at that address?

What address is it?

Try to search your address on blockchain.info, and see if the balance is 0.

Why don't you just set up a failover pool?
2468  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Not] Good price at CEX.io PRICES HAVE DROPPED! on: January 27, 2014, 04:45:49 PM

You just registered an account, and make your very first post solely for your referral link.
I guess this is exactly how you earned your bitcoin...
2469  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Not] Good price at CEX.io PRICES HAVE DROPPED! on: January 27, 2014, 04:44:08 PM
The price of GHS has dropped to an awesome price, the most competitive price out there as far as I can tell. Now before you get all up in arms about that statement, CEX is set up to to take a fair portion not like all the others. I have earned $500 in 30 days.

You find the price awesome because you saw it dropped from 0.07 down to 0.03 now?
Have you even figured out how much the hashrate can bring you after all?

Have you used the same password on other sites?
If you do, please change the password ASAP.

Looks like a scam to me but the accept paypal so im not sure.

15 views and people keep moving on with no insite. Common this is sopposed to be a helpful bitcoin community but im getting nothing here.

Fifteen views is practically nothing. Are you seriously demanding an answer from the 15 random people who happened to click on a topic with a very vague subject and almost no actual content?

What an asshole.

Calm down dude.
Maybe OP was really eager to know the answer at that moment....
2472  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Safest bitcoin wallet? on: January 27, 2014, 04:17:03 PM
Electrum. Or a paper wallet for long term storage.

just got electrum, but could You explain why is it safer? It uses other networks, which might be compromised, can they?
It can be stored offline. So, It is secure, Oh and it doesn't download the blockchain.

Not downloading the blockchain is like the biggest feature, +it doesn't have to be online.

there are tricks for speeding up the blockchain syncing using bittorent and a dump of the blockchain: look up blockchain bootstrapping. Lots of tutorials available.

Still, some people are not happy to have 16GB+ data on their HD.
2473  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Relay transactions and blocks how to and rules on: January 27, 2014, 04:10:21 PM

Also is it possible for a node not to relay blocks and transactions?

Yes, but why?

Maybe someone want to minimize the bandwidth usage?
2474  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Free Bitcoins @ CoinLearn.org = Learning + Earning on: January 27, 2014, 04:07:03 PM
Please stop posting this, you don't care if people learn, you just want to make money off of ads.

I can't even access the site lol
2475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HALT ALL TRADING. VERY IMPORTANT INFO INSIDE (42) on: January 27, 2014, 03:57:08 PM
Wow, that's pretty catastrophic. What's next, 1+1 = 3?

I don't really get that.
The tx time is wrong, and the transactions are arranged according to the faulty timestamp.
What is catastrophic here?

That doesn’t mean these dispensaries can’t accept bitcoin. They just won’t have an easy way to instantly convert their bitcoins to USD.

Right now, all those merchants using BitPay doesn't really "take" the bitcoin as a payment.
With the current price fluctuation, it would not be easier to ask merchants to hold bitcoin for days.
2477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: would you accept stolen bitcoins? on: January 27, 2014, 03:34:56 PM
You can trace them though the blockchain. If somebody gets hacked and all their coins go to your address they'll know about it.

know about what?
They know their funds are gone, and no idea who took it...

We all know inputs.io was "hacked", and TF is gone, and then ?
2478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin Nightmare. on: January 27, 2014, 01:38:04 PM

Every British bank note is contaminated by cocaine within weeks of entering circulation
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1241775/Every-British-bank-note-contaminated-cocaine-weeks-entering-circulation.html

The news is old (2010), and is about GBP.
But, I am sure it is more or less the same for other currencies.

If you don't want to accept "stolen" bitcoin, would you accept "dirty" banknotes?
2480  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Next difficulty ~2,000,000,000? on: January 27, 2014, 01:26:44 PM
