2461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regarding the high loss rate of Bitcoin, has Satoshi Nakamoto considered? on: March 25, 2022, 04:11:38 AM
I mean it's not like most transactions would occur in terms of Bitcoin (considering the current price). We'd probably be measuring stuff in satoshi in that case, and since 1 BTC equates to 100mil satoshi, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have much of an issue. Plus, it's not like fiat is disappearing, so maybe if there really was an issue with using Bitcoin as a currency, then maybe a payment system where a mix of payments of crypto and fiat/cbdc can be made (which ofc, makes it centralized).

And idk if it's possible, but maybe if needed, satoshi can be subdivided into even smaller units. just an idea.
2462  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitDice.me | Warning | What happened? on: March 25, 2022, 12:26:59 AM
We are an affiliate team of 3. We want to inform everyone about the Online Crypto Casino BitDice: We have decided to blacklist them from our site www.krypto-oddsen.com
might be too extreme to go for an immediate ban, might just want to add a highlighted note on the top about how they're not responding to emails (at least, to you anyway). Or maybe give them an ultimatum of a few months or so instead? Ofc, not here I reckon, the account that manages the site has been inactive since 2021, so put a note that after 3 months, the casino would be removed from your site. Just to note I haven't really used them, I've heard them but that's about it.
2463  Economy / Economics / Re: online skills in the face of war on: March 24, 2022, 12:14:20 PM
Naturally, picking up skills is pretty easy nowadays, though developing them to become something you can earn an income from may be a hard hurdle imo. After all, if you can pickup a skill, almost anyone can, and they may just be developing better than you are. So it's a contest at times really.

Salaries and wages this days aren't sufficient any longer to handle daily bills, most salary earners still live below their salaries which keeps them in perpetual debt.
But then again, wouldn't that be partly their fault? I mean they're trying to live above a way their salaries can't handle. Though they aren't completely to blame, proper finance management should get you through times imo. That is unless said times are completely demolishing whatever plan you have aka big a f debts, disasters, etc.
2464  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation hitting the world every year on: March 24, 2022, 07:14:16 AM
The thing is inflation is something that was man-made. Pretty sure having inflation is actually good for the economy, and not exactly something that would damage us. Just that I think the government hasn't exactly been dealing with the inflation properly, and well there's also the stuff that's been happening in the past few years,  from the pandemic to the war and probably a lot more issues that I'm not familiar of that affected the current state of the economy.

The best option would be to use safe assets to keep the value of your assets safe, the usual stuff most people say. Basically invest in Bitcoin.
2465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your opinions about simulated reality games? on: March 24, 2022, 02:44:04 AM
There is no way you could verify those games are trusted or not. They are simulated games. They can be rigged any moment to favor the casino/provider. So, yeah, they are NOT trusted services. So if you want to play, you will have to trust them blindly.
Why do you have to bet on those simulated games when there are real live games/matches available? Or if you want to gamble,  just play on normal casino with normal games where you can verify all bets individually (provably fair).
I mean, it's just like how sports works, you can't exactly say for sure whether a game is rigged or not, so I guess we can give them the benefit of the doubt, though I do agree with just betting on live games instead if you really want to bet on sports games. Simulated games are just numbers fighting against each other, nothing more nothing else. Though if that's what you want, then go for it. I think it's more friendly in terms of actually relying on data when trying to predict the outcome.

2466  Economy / Economics / Re: Thailand ban using crypto for payments on: March 24, 2022, 12:03:42 AM
Did Thailand even have that much amount of stores that accepted Bitcoin payments and/or transactions? I don't think it's going to be that much of an impact, whether it's on the market or on the Thai side. Short term maybe, but that's just FUD doing its thing, blowing up the issue to more than what it actually is.

I just don’t know if CBDC’s poses a threat to the adoption of cryptocurrencies as mode of payment or so. Every country has their own point of view regarding Bitcoin. As you said about Thailand not allowing crypto as mode of payment but allowing as investment, maybe they need to study more deeply about it as they don’t want to be left behind in the trend like the anti-Bitcoin countries right now.
Not really, no. CBDCs are at most, going to improve qol stuff that fiat couldn't, but it doesn't exactly change what it is at its core. And well, there's also the issue that cryptocurrency payments haven't really been a big thing as of yet, there are some adoptions here and there, but they're rather minimal, which is better than nothing though.
2467  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500 for Bitcoin - 2030 on: March 23, 2022, 12:35:07 PM
DCA if you're having a hard time deciding on how to invest or if you can't invest fully to the market. It's a rather great option, especially if you're new and you don't want to miss out on the trend, granted that it probably has lower profits from day traders, at the very least, it has a higher chance of making you profit without making that much of a loss. Since you're looking at the long term, I don't think it'd matter much if you entered now or later imo. Just try to spread your portfolio later on in the game.
2468  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Breaks Past The $40,000 Barrier Again? on: March 23, 2022, 11:15:56 AM
It was already stabilizing imo after it went back up from the dip that was around the $30k levels or so from its peak. I considered it as akin to building a new foundation after that new ath, after all, the market moved way too fast imo for the past year climbing up to borderline $70k levels at the start of 2021, then the same cycle with the new ath on November. When there's ups, there's also downs, so it wasn't really unexpected that we're met with a steady level right now.
2469  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips and tricks for day trading on: March 23, 2022, 05:21:43 AM
I used to use tradingview way back then when I was trying out day trading. I never really had any solid strategy whatsoever, I just tried reading the market thinking what I think would happen, mostly based on the sentiments of the news and whatnot. Basically only my personal opinion, then doing trades based on that. The simple strategy of buy low sell high, nothing complicated. Probably why I never really enjoyed it, nor did I actually profit much out of it. If one day you grow tired of doing day trading, try out DCA, more carefree, but less profits possible.
2470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Largest Slots Win in Washington State History on: March 22, 2022, 11:35:27 AM
Man, that's twice the last record, congrats to him! I'm rather curious as to how long he's been gambling or if he has an estimate of how much money he's spent on gambling already. Also based on the article it seems like his past biggest win was around $20,000? Compared to his current win that amount looks so damn small.

No, I will not dare to play $5/spin in a slot, even if there are 400k max-win, because before I get that max-win, I will screw myself and lose so much money. Besides that, we do not know when the max-win will come and that is why we need to keep playing until the max-win comes. Besides, my bet for every spin is less than $1, so that $5 will be too big for me Grin
This. Maybe I'd play every now and then but I definitely would not try to even dare to win, especially in a 400k max-win. Maybe if I get a girlfriend who tells me to play slots Cool .
2471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Happens to One's Bitcoin if Death Occurs? on: March 22, 2022, 04:39:02 AM
Yes, doing so the owner can easily divide the holdings between number of people who he wish to give. Even without accessing the wallet it is possible to know the holdings within the wallet. Inherits can view the holdings, divide it between them and use the private key for transaction purpose. This is simple and it is also easier way to safeguard the private key, being short none thinks it as private key.
But, let's just say, for instance, one of the key holders was to be met with an accident, won't the key be permanently lost then? Maybe create a method where the key would be given completely when one of the two (or more) holders were to die? Or is there a better way to circumvent that? In that case wouldn't it be better to let a third party manage an encoded key, and leave maybe a program that could decode the key to the owners. When the time comes, the third party would split the code to how many people there are so that even if one (or more) are gone, they'd still get the full key to access the wallet.
2472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Malaysian Ministry proposes cryptocurrencies as legal tender? on: March 22, 2022, 01:51:50 AM
it's just the start, though I honestly think we'd see more updates with this until at least a year or two. It seems like it was only talked about as an answer to a question, a passing thought so to say imo. There's probably still going to be a lot of talks and stuff that they would need to do before deciding anything else. Still, I think it should develop rather positively, I don't think putting it out as a legal tender would bring any actual negatives whatsoever to them.
2473  Economy / Economics / Re: Impact of a US Digital Dollar on Crypto? on: March 21, 2022, 10:45:23 AM
I don't think it's going to make any difference at all tbh, maybe set up global payments or something to make it easier and some other niche qol improvements, but that's about it. Its core idea isn't really any different from fiat, so it shouldn't be a threat to crypto. Heck, it even actually improves the tracing of what and where funds go (that uses it), so basically the government is improving it's ways to track how our money is spent and where it actually goes.

It's just fiat put into a computer, not much is gonna changer.
2474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donating With Bitcoin on: March 21, 2022, 08:08:35 AM
Feel free. Donating is something that's done willingly anyway, so tbf, even if you do open up an address for donations, if people aren't given enough ways to trust that said donation would go to whatever you're saying it would go then no one would really donate. Maybe you can use it for local people in your area or your social circle, but outside of that, you're probably gonna need to provide more proof. Though before all that, people need to be willing to do so in the first place.
2475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expect Bullrun this year again! on: March 21, 2022, 03:28:57 AM
Pretty old tweet, It wasn't really out of place back then I think so I don't think it should even be used as a basis. Not to mention that if we really are repeating history, then shouldn't it be a rather steady movement instead? 2 years after 2016 halving the graph was pretty flat. Pretty sure we've had enough of that bullish sentiment (which I also believed tbf). Plus, the increment of increase of Bitcoin is slowly getting lower and lower with each peak, unlike back then. I wouldn't expect us to reach $300-400k levels, this or next year. $100k isn't completely out of the reach though.
2476  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Sites on: March 20, 2022, 11:51:01 PM
Might've been an ISP issue or something? Check if your ISP allows gambling in the first place or whether it has banned visits for sites like Gamdom. Or maybe your country is the one restricted itself? Idrk the restrictions for using Gamdom. You can go try out stake, roobet, and rollbit. I've personally tried the last two and I don't really have any problems with them, the first one is a pretty well known site and I've also used in way back then (not anymore though).
2477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Educate Dentists To follow Crypto payment methods? on: March 20, 2022, 11:24:16 AM
I don't think Bitcoin payments would become a "mandatory" thing. It's an option sure, but businesses that don't really want to implement it can not do it, fiat is still there and would still be used for a long time imo. As for teaching, well, you... idk, teach them..? I don't think there's a specific method you need to use to teach people crypto stuff, it's literally just you telling them stuff and them remembering it. That is ofc, if you already know what you're talking about yourself.
2478  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Occupational hazards of trading crypto on: March 19, 2022, 04:44:28 PM
Does losing money count? Cause tbf, all the psychological stress and whatnot that comes with trading is mainly due to the fact that we're mostly going to lose money in every venture of trade that we do. From that well it spirals down to mental health damage, stress, depression, etc., basically anything negative that could hit your emotions, not to mention that it also hits your wallet pretty hard. There's also the fact that ignorant people entering trading would get hurt more (granted it's their fault for entering without knowing anything) and would probably lose a lot more than the regular trader.
2479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your opinions about simulated reality games? on: March 19, 2022, 02:38:54 PM
I think they're just data but shown in an easy-to-understand method aka making a sample game itself? It's like a block of words converted into one simple image so that it's much easier to understand. From what I know it is derived from data of past matches of each team/player, so it's basically deriving from past matches kind of thing, the usual stuff that most people base on when trying to bet on a team. It's probably a better method to understand? But it wouldn't specifically be more accurate than a normal person studying the analytics of a team.
2480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Happens to One's Bitcoin if Death Occurs? on: March 19, 2022, 12:13:25 PM
Wait a minute, so the wallet your friend was using was a custodial wallet? Since I'm assuming requiring the "email and password" would only lead to that. And why are we even mentioning passwords, private keys are what is needed to actually access the wallet no? I've personally kept a small drive that contains what my family needs to access my accounts whenever I die, it's kept pretty securely imo and I don't use that storage anymore, solely for storing my keys to prevent any malware from accessing it.

I'd honestly much rather avoid letting someone access my wallet while I'm still alive, I'd prefer them to wait after I die instead. It's just a matter of teaching them what to do imo.
