1521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: turned gambler after investing in BTC or investor turned gambler? on: December 13, 2022, 07:27:21 AM
Uhh OP I think the options are the same?

>Turned gambler after investing ("after")
>Investor then turned a gambler

Anyhow to answer, I was originally a gambler already before even sinking into investing in crypto, tried doing some gambles as well when I was investing but went pretty badly so I just went for DCA's a few months back.

She began to worry since her son is on the computer all the time and might gamble upon learning the BTC can be gambled.
I wouldn't think of connecting gambling to BTC really. If the said son was investing in BTC then that in itself should be a time and money sinker imo, and would probably give him enough stress that I wouldn't really consider doing anything else. I'm just baffled how a simple convo of a son using the computer all day turned into BTC and then gambling. Your average gamer joe just probably plays Dota 2/Cs:go or some variant of those really.
1522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any Live Casino In world that Accept Cryptocurrency and pay in crypto? on: December 13, 2022, 05:20:19 AM
I don't think there are, and even if there were, I suppose they are rather abysmal in numbers. Crypto casinos are mainly focused online since crypto is a digital method/form of payment so they focus on that, and most of them have built their reputation online and not offline, so I don't think they'd bother making brick-and-mortar casinos in the future. As for current brick-and-mortar casinos accepting crypto, if countries don't legally accept it I don't think they could pass that as an option, and even if the country did, seeing as crypto adoption is on the low side, I don't think they'd bother adding it for now.

There was a pretty old article that stated some casinos accepting Bitcoin as payment
Quote
The Golden Gate Hotel & Casino and The D Casino Hotel were the first brick-and-mortar casinos to enter this space. The Downtown Las Vegas properties started taking Bitcoin payments in January 2014 at the following locations:
I don't know if they still are, but they're part of the rare ones imo.

1523  Economy / Gambling / Re: Researching for Upcoming Game on: December 13, 2022, 12:58:21 AM
- What are some current pain points in the crypto gaming/gambling space for players?
KYC, and non-responsive support team. I'd put the latter in a higher priority than the former, it's a serious pain in the ass if support doesn't answer you properly or just says the same thing over and over again for months. I'd much rather they be straight to me than just make me circle around in place

- What would you like to see?
New variety of games. Might be hard though seeing as it's been long and we haven't exactly seen anything new being made.
- What makes one game fun to play -- more so than other competitors that have similar games (ex: why you enjoy playing crypto poker on X site rather than site A)?
If it was a site comparison, then as I've said, a responsive support team and non-KYC would make all the difference.

- Who are some absolute Degens in the space?
Scammers.
- Aside from BitcoinTalk (this forum) where else do you get your news that you trust (which newsletters, sites, which Youtubers, any twitter accounts)?
None. I randomly visit some news sites but that's about it, I don't really have any "main" source for news.
1524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was Bitcoin project a failure after all ? on: December 12, 2022, 04:06:31 PM
How would you even define "failure" for Bitcoin anyway? Afaik Satoshi already made Bitcoin a success when he made it as a p2p system with no 3rd party involved, anything after that is mostly improvements, bug fixes, etc afaik. It didn't have any change to its core idea, which is p2p.

Additionally, what is the "current" situation? Is it about the price? I don't think the price being high or low matters, the system behind would still work (and if you lost your investment due to that, well that's kind of your fault as an investor). If it was the FTX fiasco heck that's far from being related to Bitcoin working as intended. If it was adoption, well, if you were to compare it from the start, pretty sure it's progressed rather well.
1525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where do slot game developers get the soundtracks they use? on: December 12, 2022, 09:02:29 AM
As others have said, there are a variety of sources out there from commercial-free music to commissioned ones. I reckon what you're looking for is a commissioned one since it's a bgm dedicated to a theme, not particularly sure since idk what specific track you're pertaining to but it should be something like that. Each slot game I assume has a set amount of budget allocated to it, from the theme, design, music, and the like, the side people would mostly notice so to speak. The backend is mostly the same among slots anyway so I don't think much of the budget would go there.
1526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever tried Anti Martingale Strategy? on: December 11, 2022, 09:04:30 AM
Wouldn't this accumulate losses when say, you reach the minimum? In most cases, it'd be $1 but it'd still accumulate if you lose out a lot of times, especially if we consider how each win and loss usually offset each other, but with $1 being the minimum if it stacks up, it doesn't exactly offset anything. Though I guess if you consider how Martingale is, this one would be a lot better since the losses are set at the minimum, while Martingale requires you to have an insane bankroll to break even, and if you don't, well it'd be an insane loss.
1527  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learning how to code in order to automate trading strategies, is it worth? on: December 11, 2022, 05:11:48 AM
I don't think you need to if you just want to use bots, you can probably hire someone to make it for you or something, not to mention there are a lot of publicly available bots out there. I don't really recommend getting into coding if you're only going into it for this, it's kind of a different struggle really and I'd say it's probably not worth it (though you can if you aim to use it to develop yourself towards there).

I never had the experience of learning how to make something with only the focus of making that, so I'm not particularly sure how hard it is (e.g. learning to code for the sake of making a bot, and not for the sake of learning how to code), but I reckon it should be possible to make a working one, but probably not the best, with the help of various tutorials and forum answers. Anything above that is up to you though since improvement would probably need a lot more knowledge.
1528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using Bonus Buy or Not Using Bonus Buy? on: December 11, 2022, 02:24:18 AM
Bonus buy allows you to skip to getting bonuses, it doesn't necessarily increase your win rate or anything. I guess you can buy them if you're playing long but really, it doesn't exactly equate that you'd equal out your losses even with bonuses in play (might depend, but I highly doubt it would most of the time). You'd still need to get lucky to actually say that buying the Bonus Buy be "worth" it, and in those cases I'd just stop thinking and rather enjoy the game.
1529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading Crypto With a Job.. on: December 10, 2022, 02:42:46 PM
I'd think it was possible? Stop losses can be set up after all though you won't be able to take advantage of most openings if so. There's also the existence of bots so really, if you have the necessary knowledge then I think it's rather doable. In those cases I don't really see the necessity to drop off your job, you can just look at it as having a guaranteed source of income and a not-so-guaranteed source of income. You can also just check and buy during bottoms and consider it as long-term investments, aka selling them after a year or two, or whenever the market seems profitable and would drop off again.
1530  Economy / Economics / Re: Use your money wisely. Invest or Deposit ? on: December 10, 2022, 07:33:02 AM
Probably a split, I'd still leave some as emergency funds that I can immediately use in case of emergencies or something similar, maybe 20-30%, and the rest would become investments. Now it depends on what investment I could do with it, I can start a small-scale business if the budget allows it, if not then just simple investments in stocks and crypto. I'd probably forego investing much in Bitcoin since I'd much more likely DCA instead of only a single instance (or a few) of investment. I'd probably buy some land really (not that I know the specifics, if possible only).
1531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT ?? What do you think about it ? ? ? on: December 10, 2022, 02:40:58 AM
The idea? Actually great if it was implemented properly. What happened? Absolute garbage imo. It still baffles me how people were duped into buying these monkey NFTs, heck they may just resell them but then I pity those who would incur the losses in that entire process of buying and selling. While I do agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the most active part of the NFT industry isn't even about seeing beauty anymore, it's about who can build up more hype, sell, and then run away before everything else goes hell.
1532  Economy / Gambling / Re: A way to attract new users or a misunderstanding? on: December 10, 2022, 02:04:18 AM
I've never seen any proper development of Web3 so far, much less of a Web3 online casino which I don't think is even a concept or idea, it's just a casino that's accessible in these so-called "Web3" ideas. It's noise marketing I guess, I reckon they still think the word "Web3" is still something of particular note or is still hype (which is not afaik already), hence why they include it. I'd actually bother thinking about whether Web3 even exists in the first place in these kinds of projects.

Additionally, I reckon most casinos that invite users like this just include part of said "Web3" features, like blockchain tech or NFT, ones that can easily still have KYC in them.
1533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: December 09, 2022, 09:14:04 AM
I've recently heard of it, mainly from StackOverflow banning its usage iirc. I tried and tested it after seeing this though and said some random matchups from the world cup, the AI just answered me that it was impossible to predict the outcome since it's based on various factors, and I'm glad it actually knows.

Maybe in the future, we'd be able to see an AI actually analyze matchup histories, quantity player stats and skills and make decisions based on that, but that might be pretty far off in the future, especially if we consider how quantifying player statistics may be impossible or fully accurate since, well, that requires specialized testing.
1534  Economy / Economics / Re: From grace to grass:Reasons why a Well to do investor turned a nobody. on: December 09, 2022, 02:41:50 AM
I reckon most people who can create a stable business should be rather capable enough, so the most probable reason was they didn't perform well enough. It may be not performing well enough to combat the weakness of whatever business they made, most of which reliably run well early on but without the owner building its foundation constantly, it just collapses. Might be that they got greedy and made an overambitious investment without any plan to fall back on, might have even been ruined by another business rival. In the end, it's just that they failed in something, whether it be in connections, investment, planning, etc., in general, the foundations of a business.

Not that some factors are their fault though, there are just some instances where outside factors can fuck you up really well, regardless of the countless backup plans you have.
1535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proof Of Income Will This Pass on: December 09, 2022, 01:54:56 AM
No, not really. The thing they worry about the most is whether your deposits are indeed inside your salary range, now whether it was minimum or maximum, they wouldn't worry much. After all if it wasn't, then you're getting your deposits outside of legal sources which is where they would start worrying. Plus, they can safely assume that you have some sort of other sources you use for your daily living expenses, rent, etc. And as we can see with their exclusion policies, it starts with you, not with them.

Exactly! Many people have no income but a lot of money to play with.
Examples? People who inherited money, rich students who have the money but don't work anywhere, people who divorced and don't have to work anymore like the wife of Jeff Bezos.
For many people showing proof of income is impossible and what then? They get scammed by the casino because they can't jump the hoops?
I'd think they'd accept other proofs of where your money came from whether it be from inheritance or whatever, and if they can't provide it the casino simply cuts them off afaik. Now whether the money deposited (or left over) gets withdrawn or not is a different issue, but it's probably stated in their TOS.
1536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you experienced this kind of gambling on: December 08, 2022, 01:15:55 PM
This was so irregular that it might even be weirder than some usual rituals people do when gambling. Seeing as this is the case of jersey numbers, I reckon the team themselves would be irrelevant. (Since other teams could have the same numbers and show it). Honestly, this is a really far-fetched method of connecting what you've seen to luck, It's really forced so I highly doubt a lot of people would've experienced it. I honestly think the story was just forced so it can be turned into content by journalists or whoever wrote the story, (or maybe even the person himself who did it).

To answer though, nope, and probably never will. There's just no sense in it.
1537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you pass stakes proof of income verfiication? on: December 08, 2022, 04:38:35 AM
That's a relief for signature participants. Those who earn from other campaigns or some who are just trading may just have some problems with this. But like usual, they may just ask for the source of funds for those high rollers.

They're not asking just the KYC this time. Stake asking all these means other casinos will also do. Only the DEXes don't require documents.
I'd actually think it's more of just a proper source as to where the funds actually came from (except for casino wins as OP's words) and KYC only came as a side thing since it's needed to verify whether the source of funds you actually sent was legal and properly tied to an identity. I guess it's their own method of guarding against money laundering or something similar.
winning funds from another casino is not acceptable
That means the casino where you won those funds will ask for the source of funds from you. Maybe Stake will consider it if you show it to them.
I actually think it's allowed, I never really saw in OPs post where it said that casino winnings weren't allowed. I mean technically it should fall under to something similar to lottery winnings, and as indicated, users just need to show proof of their deposit as well as source for said deposit which is enough imo.
1538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gates of olympus on: December 08, 2022, 01:37:43 AM
I want to learn from you about playing games, whether online games are very easy, I'm still a beginner for something like this, can you teach me Thank you
If it were any other game (maybe like poker or blackjack if related to gambling) then maybe asking about whether it's easy or not would've been fine, but if it was in the case of slots where only luck is involved, I don't think there's any purpose for teaching, you just literally push a button or two and wait for the results. It's like the lottery, but you just wait longer there than in slots. It's also a wonder since you know the basics of the game theme itself (Gods of Olympus), which should be similar to generally what other slots would have.
1539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The goodness of long-term investing in cryptocurrency on: December 07, 2022, 09:29:52 AM
I do agree with how long-term investment is better for the vast majority of people, especially new ones, if you're capable enough then taking the risks of short-term investments instead would probably prove to be the best. Not to mention that long-term investments have a different type of risk compared to short-term ones, wouldn't really call it less risky but rather there's just more time for you to manage your portfolio since it's for the long term.
* Easy - So, because it's less stressful, this kind of investing is easier, you don't need to be an expert or a good trader. You know how to analyze, signals, charts, and more. That's why you don't need those because you will only invest once, or if you always do something simple and that is just buying buy.
I reckon you still need some semblance of being a good trader, you are still going to understand what the investment you're going for is about after all, and whether or not it would actually last that long for your investment to bear fruit.

1540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My concern of security when using casino houses. on: December 07, 2022, 02:29:21 AM
Well, that was rather scary. Not really a fan of brick-and-mortar casinos, and rarely have I gone to them (and it also doesn't help that it's pretty rare in my area), so I can't exactly say that I've had any security concerns for casinos. In general, though I reckon any public place has those kinds of concerns, entertainment ones would be much more prone to such cases since extreme emotions often come up in them.

Most of the places in my locale where these games are played seem to be a hub for miscreants looking for likely victims and observing the cash flow of individuals using these spin machines.
It's nothing new if you were looking at it from that point, casinos are places where people WITH money are after all. I reckon it's a place where most people who'd want to nab something to wander on. Security can help, but it's only to the point when they're inside. Outside? It's each to their own most of the time.
