I have about 100K doge, should i trade it all for DRK?
The DRK price has risen very fast obviously so usually not the time to buy. but long term yes, obviously because it has real world features that people want where as doge is just a fad. In this case if i didn't have any DRK and I only had DOGE i would be moving over here asap, just try and catch the dips with a lot of orders and don't worry too much about short term price as its a long term investment that can go a lot higher than the current price. Im thinking of exchanging all my coins for DRK, i have 100K of mintcoin and 40K of digibyte that i dont think is going anywhere fast. I may wait for the prices to settle down first though. I wish i could get a masternode running, i just dont have enough DRK.

If BTC or any cryptos take off, of course banks will accept them! Just a matter of time. The banks dont want to loose out.

I see there are a few places you can purchase BTC in NZ, like https://bitnz.com/but ive got no idea how legit they are.

We dont have a BTC ATM here (yet). Im in New Zealand and Auckland is the only place with a Bitcoin ATM. Besides i thought those ATM's took credit cards, but perhaps im wrong, i thought paypal was the issue for refunds, are there not any escrow services? Its annoying for me because i dont have a US bank account.

What exchange allows this? If any such exchanges do this, whats the best rate? I need some BTC as im wanting to invest in other altcoins.
I would never sell BTC to someone using a credit card, unless I knew them personally. They can always claim the card was stolen and recover the funds. You can't recover the bitcoins. Are you looking to scam someone? Why would i be looking to scam someone? Im not asking to do a paypal transaction on here! Im not that stupid, although i do understand some members make such transactions on this forum if they have a high trust level. All im getting at is that all the exchanges such as cryptsy require you to spend BTC and not USD, and those that let you buy BTC with USD dont accept credit cards.

Wow, that was a quick spike, its dropping fast now, i saw it rise to 1.76 today, i want to buy some, but am waiting for the price to come down.
In saying that, i need some BTC to purchase so i can exchange for DRK. Does any exchange let you buy BTC with credit card? Even better if i could buy DRK directly.
Sorry but I don't see the price coming down much at all. There's certainly some sell pressure above .004 but there's really not any big dumping, and why should there be? DRK is finally getting closer (still not even there really) to what it should be trading at until RC2, at which point it will certainly go higher. There's gonna be dips and spikes but there's no logical reason for a big drop from where we are at now. Crypto can be crazy sometimes but I don't think many DRK holders are silly enough to bail out now. It wouldnt surprise me if it goes back under $1, its quite a high jump, look at blackcoin, it was at over 80 cents IIRC, and its gone right down to 12 cents and dropping, it will bounce back of course, i want to buy right now, so im watching the charts very closely, i wish Cryptsy took credit card!

Is solo mining worth it with darkcoin at 4MH? Will these get to $200 each? I think this coin is going to be better than bitcoin.

There are so many coins to choose from i wish i could see into the future to know what ones to invest in . I think NXT will be adopted eventually, and that POS coins will supersede mining coins. Look at blackcoin and darkcoin seem to be doing well. Dont know if megacoin is a pump and dump or if it will actually succeed as a serious currency.

im annoyed i never mined this coin, ive only got 25 dark Should i take the risk and buy some while they are around $1? Ive been looking at blackcoin and NXT as my other 2 investments. I would be keen to run a masternode, but do i need 1000 DRK?

I just realized today that I can mine x11 at 2mh/s and a scrypt coin at 350kh/s with each r9 280x.
I am scared to leave it on all day in case it kills my cards. Anyone else want to try first and tell me how it goes after 1 week?
That makes no sense. The r9 280x should give you 600-700 kh/s at least on scrypt coins. Are you scared to leave your card mining Darkcoin or mining overall? This can't kill the card, the software should prevent it from overheating. Sorry, I meant "simultaneously". Mining x11 and scrypt. Two coins at once. I can mine an x11 coin at 2mh/s and a scrypt coin at 350kh/s simultaneously with each r9 280x. how is that actually possible? you can have sgminer and cgminer running together?

Just a question here that i feel is a little misleading is why does BC claim that it was the first POW/POS hybrid to reach the POS stage, yet BC was still mineable after Mintcoin had reached the POS stage?
What advantage is there with BC over mintcoin anyway? Im killing myself that i didnt mine any BC, but there is so many coins to choose from, i havnt been able to mine them all, i missed out on DRK while it was easy to mine though
Mintcoin still had PoW until like a month ago when it was removed due to a malleability issue due to PoW low difficulty. I'm not really a fan of any altcoin that has over 100 million in circulation. Mint 18b???. BC 75m. Also 20% interest first year is ridiculous. Good developers, community, and Iconic. As you can see by the MNT price and BC price there's definitely something here that Mint doesn't have. should i exchange all; my mint for BC then? lol

Too bad we can't choose more than 1, or prioritize. My list (based on a combination of factors) might look something like this: 1. Blackcoin 2. Pesetacoin 3. Darkcoin 4. Fluttercoin
I'm surprised how little I hear in terms of development and promotion for litecoin. Seems like the only advantage it has is that it was among the first clones of bitcoin. If I could short it I would. Even dogecoin or mintcoin likely has more staying power than LTC.
I dont think litecoin has much future, its difficulty has dropped significantly, although once ASICS become more common, everyone will direct their hashpower at it as a quick pump and dump. I dont see any advantage with LTC other than its faster than bitcoin and was ASIC proof at the time. There are many coins all with good features, i feel that we will see probably POS coins being the most successful in the long term, but here is my list of coins that i feel will have major success: 1: NXT 2:Blackcoin 3:Darkcoin 4:Megacoin Fluttercoin is too new to judge its potential, as goes with stabilityshares. I think we will see Doge being around for some time, but dont know high it will reach.

Sigh what a pity. Both Doge and Litecoin are embracing ASICS. And the centralisation of mining power to people who need to turn a profit quickly just to keep mining. It's really sad actually. Even if they make it through arrival of the titan and whatever comes next what made them a community to begin with is gone - everyone mined a few doge with readily available tech around the world and thereby understood how it all works. Been actively pushing for Doge to go X11 or at the very least anything other than ASICS. Would be great for both Doge and Dark I believe. Yep exactly. Embracing ASICs is the worst possible move DOGE can make. DOGE is supposed to be a fun, newbie friendly, tipping coin - specifically targeted at people that are new to crypto and excited at the chance to mine a few thousand coins on their laptops and gaming gpus. All these people over on /r/dogecoin spreading fear about a simple hard fork are either retarded/uninformed or are invested heavily into ASICs (more likely the ladder). Oh well, in the end it will probably be great for DRK, because there will be throngs of GPU miners looking for somewhere to go, and this will coincide with the dead heat of the summer in the northern hemisphere (making x11 the obvious winner). More DRK miners = lower supply = higher DRK price. I started mining DOGE on day 1 and really like their community so it is kinda bitter sweet tbh. :/ Don't forget, if ASICs continue to be successful (sales) then we too will face them eventually. Evan always considered that as part of the plan. His intent was simply to give Darkcoin (Xcoin at the time) time to grow first. But the plan was always to mimic the growth of bitcoin as much as possible. I know X11 merely delays ASICS, it's not ASIC proof but it allows for a more gentle transition than what I fear is coming for Scrypt coins It really sucks that Doge is sticking with Scrypt, in saying that, most of the coins will have been mined by the end of the year anyway. X11 will delay ASICS significantly, but if you want an ASIC proof coin, develop one that can easily be adapted to different hashing algorithms and switch to an undisclosed hashing algorithm once the ASICS are made available. Or simply switch to POS, i feel that blackcoin should have been designed to switch to POS once mining blocks becomes too difficult, rather than in such a short space of time of only around a month. I think we are going to see more POS coins popping up, and hopefully they will be switching to X11.

The giveaway is still ongoing?
no i think its over

fluttercoin does indeed look interesting, its a good way to encourage distribution. 2014 is going to be the year we see coins switch to POS and POT, and perhaps x11 mining, all these ASIC farms cant just keep running forever, its a ridiculous amount of energy needed to keep something like this alive. Have added it to the poll.

The thing is with NXT is its the first coin that has been completley re-written from ground up, no bitcoin code has been included! If you look at the NXT client, there is so many features intergrated into it, its not funny! Lots of altcoins are showing some signs of success, but are all at the end of the day, the same looking wallet, just with modified code, sure they have brought new things to the table, like KGW, X11, Scrypt and now POS hybrids, it doesnt stop the fact that they are just all clones with different block times and various distribution methods, what is a benefit for everyone is all the new technologies that have been developed with these altcoins though, its a pity everyone couldnt just work together and make one awesome global currency, but that will never happen.
