Im holding NEM as a backup, but i have faith in NXT.
Its not like MT GOX killed bitcoin, nor did the train robberies of the wild west kill the USD....
1824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: bter hacked and lost 50m nxt on: August 20, 2014, 02:08:50 AM
So how much NXT did BTER get back?

lol I didn't know you could get banned for smoking pics.  1. That's pretty lame to begin with, and 2. Do the mods not have enough to worry about with all the group buys and misc scams floating around.  Why worry about a pic lol.

I think that there are alot of trolls reporting the pics to the mods.
I had some removed such as the one above which was nothing to do with camel cigarettes.

If its going to be mined, why is there an IPO?

$1.49 - thats the lowest ive seen DRK for a while, Mind you, all crypto seems to be at an all time low for some reason.
1829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NFO] Ethereum = Scam on: August 13, 2014, 11:17:15 AM
NXT is one of the few Cryptocurrencies i trust.
And after seeing the IPO for Ethereum, it reaks of a scam, i was initially interested, but it sure seems dodgy as hell.
I mean, how many BTC is this guy going to walk away with?
The BTC collected for the NXT IPO was a fraction of this, there doesnt appear to be any limit on the amount of genesis coins released, its all decided by how many people are buying in to the IPO.

Yes thank god for the ipo tactics of Nxt. The whales are one of the main reasons behind all this great new innovation we are seeing and at the same time their keeping the price cheap. God bless NXT

Im happy NXT is so cheap, the longer it stays so cheap, the more people can get their hands on some Smiley

Good progress happening as we speak! Coin Marketcap has updated the logo, but not yet the ticker, but Poloniex has updated the ticker to SILK!

Well I really do hope that we see some activity with this coin, since i have invested a bit in MEC when they were 10c.
Im really pushing for community driven coins these days, since ive experienced first hand what happens when coins are abandoned by the devs.
I appreciate Kimoto may be very well busy, but please, just a few words on any updates would be great, I dont find it very professional when promises are made and then not met.

I dont like to sound harsh, but thats the way i see it.

Maybe this coin is indeed run by KDC, and perhaps he is tied up with the elections? lol Would make sense to me! Tongue
In the meantime, im HODL. Cheesy

LOVE that WE decided to stick with the development progress bars on the website, as long as we follow through they are a great feature. I have NO doubts we will. The communication has been TOP NOTCH! Keep that up and people won't be able to resist scooping some SILK when they stop by and see where we're headed!  Grin

Couldnt agree more!
Things are starting to look good where we are heading, and we have a great team of talented people putting great ideas to the table from around the globe.
The website is really looking good. Cheesy

Sent 1 coin to that address.  No errors on my end. txid  d0c814f48485d5fc2218048c83b74c0195aa9bf315e61bfcb2b71bc9ddb0e621

And if you're saying you sent coins while syncing, this will not work.
I'm not sure what would happen if coins were sent while syncing.

To screenshot press ctrl+printscreen - or if using multiple screens, click alt+printscreen.

Start an account at http://imgur.com/ upload your screen shot, then copy the BBcode here.

I'm not sure what you mean when asking if you get your mining coins now.

i am say that all fine with mining coin i get them ok,
and as you can see i sent two transactions one for 5000 coin while it was syncing which did not affect my balance at all,but one when was fully synced which did that one was for 6000
any chance of getting them back then?

Looking at your screen shot of your desktop, i would give your computer a good scan for malware. (i see an icon for the torch web browser there which is known spyware)
If i was you, i would make a backup of your wallet and download and run the folloowing malware removal tools:

It seems we have run into issues with the installer version that was previously released for windows 8.

If you have run the installer version of 1.1.0.12 -

backup your wallet.dat file

please click on your start menu - Programs - The Silkcoin Team - Uninstall.

enter into  computer - c:/programfiles(x86) - and ensure silkcoin folder has been removed by uninstaller.

enter into your hidden %appdata%/roaming/silkcoin

delete everything but your wallet.dat

restart computer - this is required for full uninstall

download the win32 1.1.0.12 .zip and blockchain download. https://github.com/silkcointemple/silkcoin/releases/tag/v1.1.0.12

unzip blockchain download, and place all contents in %appdata%/roaming/silkcoin

your appdata folder should now have the following files and folders

textleveldb (folder)
db.log
blk0001.dat
.lock
wallet.dat

if this is correct,

Run the 1.1.0.12 .exe file you have extracted from the 1.1.0.12 .zip file.
this should remedy the errors.

Unfortunately there seems to be some error between Win 7 and Win 8 regarding the installer.
We will be releasing the next version within the next day or two.

I apologize for Winblows.  )-:

Unfortunately I have re-installed per these instructions and still can't send money from my wallet.
One question:  Does it matter WHEN I replace the wallet.dat?  Example, I replaced it before running the setup.  Should I have done it afterward, or does it matter?

Anyhow, upon starting the wallet, I get this message:

Then it opens and everything seems to work fine.
But when I try to send, I get this:

Followed by this:

Anyone have any clue how to fix this?

Thanks

Wish i could help, but those who will know are probably in bed right now!
You should get a reply sometime within the next 12 hours Smiley

Suggestion:

When you are in the Transaction Page and you scroll over the red clock, yellow clock, green check mark or question mark, could we have a little note pop up explaining what it means? Just feels like something should pop up when scrolling over so when people don't know what they mean they'll get a quick explanation.

Smiley
Ill forward this correspondence to the dev team and see what they can come up with.
I cant say that i know what they all mean, i expect green tick means confirmed, and the clock probably means awaiting conformation? IDK, but ive seen similar icons on most other wallets.
