What was the big deal about multisig anyway?
Im not sure why the devs wanted to add this before launch, I would have been happy to wait for it to be added later but it is a good feature, but i should also mention that there are other coins currently already using it.

Hmm... some of them. LTC still remains as the no.2 crypto, behind BTC. And it has been around for many years now... unlike most of the other alts, which disappear after 3 or 4 months. I hope alot of alts do die off, LTC will be around for some time, but i dont know what position it will hold. Its #3 at present (thanks to ripple) |

Yes, i agree, this is important. I think we will see alot of people initially invest in NXT to start with and there will be alot that will hold it for some time. What is important, is not getting people to spend NXT, but rather getting people to accept it. If enough people value this currency, this should happen naturally and we will see people spending it. Right now we are in the adoption phase, once word gets out, we will see more volume and buy orders going on the exchanges, once the marketcap gains a solid standing, people will become alot more aware of its value and we will see more people starting to use it and thats when things really start to get exciting... |

If I remember right everybody had the chance to buy in the NXT ICO. But there was a lack of interest because all people followed Wolong with DOGE or Fontas with LTC I was just starting to play with btc/usd through coinbase at that point. I didn't make it to alt world until january 2014  But here I am. You can't fight success. Same here, i didnt get into any of this until jan 2014 either! I got excited, bought a rig, mined a few doge, mintcoin and digibyte, then dumped the lot for NXT and sold my rig and bought NXT with the money. POW coins are not sustainable. I barley broke even with the price of electricity the rig used. Once you get NXT, there is no going back! NXT all the way |

Im just glad ive invested in NXT while i still can. I initially gave it a miss and was put off the distribution etc, but do your research, its really not bad like some make it out to be. I have faith in NXT because i believe in its technology. NXT will Prevail! |

This is FUD. How can you say that? I doubt it. You give no proof or argument. What is unsecure about the LiteCoin network? What is unsecure about the Monero network? You should know the shit these bitcoin bagholders cough up in every corner of the forum. Bitcoin is a shitcoin, but bagholders of it need to be in denial of the fact of course (afterall they are still looking for the greater fool to sell to before these coins become worthless) I agree! So I hope you all got my hipchat message. I do not think we should do 1111%. It is too high. Let's change it to 111% which I believe is more manageable. The time of high POS coins has come and gone with good evidence that it it not a good thing to have such a high %. Any other suggestions?
Oh yes sorry for the confusion, the final vote was for 111% not 1111%. It would be as well with longer block times as well as a longer maturity time. When can we expect the fork? There is still a little bit of work to be done, im presently working on new wallet graphics, etc, Arteleis will make an announcement when we are ready, hopefully later in the month we will have a better idea. |

The launch of NEM should hopefully change the crypto landscape in the middle of such a slump.
All the $^%tcoins will die off and we will see them all dumped in exchange for high quality crypto investments such as NXT and NEM.
In turn BTC volume will increase as people buy BTC to exchange for such currencies.
LTC will also die a slow death.

Bitcoin is inferior coin? To what other crypto? What kind of hashish are you smoking? Bitcoin is the only coin with real development. It's the only coin with real VC investment and support. No other coin has the backing, development, investment, and interest of Bitcoin. Not Litecoin, not Paycoin, not NXT, not Ripple, not Darkcoin, not Stellar, not Counterparty, not [insert any alt coin here]... I tend to disagree, while there are plenty of solid devs, its still a dinosaur, if BTC had been built with more foresight, things may have been better. There is already the problem of the blockchain getting seriously bloated with BTC, and now talk about increasing block size to 20MB, not to mention the ridiculous amount of computing power being consumed to perform such a simple task. The amount of electricity these ASIC farms use is a joke. Out of any "alts" the only real one that stands out for me is NXT and perhaps also NEM also if you consider these alts, we will wait and see. Im not saying to Boycott bitcoin, im not even suggesting that BTC will drop down in marketcap, but what i am saying is there is plenty of room for other cryptos and there are other ones that serve a useful purpose that can do things better than BTC. Bitcoin will always be around, but dont be surprised if you see "NXT accepted here on shop windows in the not too distant future" |
