1601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2015 and WHY on: February 24, 2015, 08:00:37 PM
Why is LTC sinking? I haven't really followed it so don't know any obvious reasons.

Let's see $0.50 per LTC  Cheesy

Yea my question was why? I'm aware that its low at the moment but why?
Because bitcoin has been falling? and if bitcoin fails, all Bitcoin clones and varients will also fail.  Nect generation alts would have a chance, but why in the world would people decide to use Litecoin if the world decides against Bitcoin?

Not to mention that LTC is one of the most basic alts with little or no innovation going into it!
1602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: coin takeover? on: February 24, 2015, 07:48:40 PM
ok guys haha so NEW question how do i create a NEW coin?

Have you checked out Silkcoin?
This coin had a strong following but the original devs abandoned the project, now the community is running the coin.
If you want to get involved, check out the official thread and send me a PM Smiley
1603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin (XPY) is scam on: February 23, 2015, 09:50:11 PM
Dont know why so many people fell for this scam coin, im glad to see it drop down where it belongs, soon everyone will have forgotten what paycoin even was.

I hope those i warned pulled out while they could.
1604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: coin takeover? on: February 23, 2015, 09:46:55 PM
message me if you are interested in any projects...

This one is slick, better than the current one.
(LOTS OF NICE LOGO IMAGES)

Like the logo makes a lot more sense than the ventilator ?

Well i have to say i would be OK with this logo, but some of the other examples posted looked terrible!
Were these done by 99designs?

IDK, i would have to go back and look

I mean it's fine but it's annoying that when I start it it is very slow.
And the cpu usage is above 10%.
It seems strange to me. Never happened

That sounds a bit odd to me, but im expecting all these issues will be a thing of the past with the new wallet.
1608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SILKCOIN][FULLPOS][NEW.BETA V1.1.1.1 DOWNLOAD HERE] on: February 22, 2015, 08:51:51 PM
Just to inform you that after two days without staking, the wallet is syncing slowly and, moreover, it crashes several times.
I'm on win 8.1 x64

Any clue?

That is my OS as well and everything working and staking fine for me. Did you do a restart?
after every restart it gets slower to sync but then it goes
 Huh

Hang in there, i personally have never had any trouble and im running win7 x64, but what i can tell you is that the new wallet will be much cleaner and bug free than what you were used to. Smiley
1609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT WILL PREVAIL! on: February 22, 2015, 08:35:52 PM
I agree, since the very first idea I was sold for NXT. Although the naming still bugs me (I find it one of the few mistakes they made marketing wise) the NXT network, features and system itself is far, far more evolved than most alt coins, and even bitcoin itself in many regards.
On the other hand, what makes NXT great is the community and the developers.  I buy NXT almost every few weeks, to build up a nice portfolio holding,... when merchands are ready to adopt it, and the exchanges begin to see more and more potential it will soar. I'm not a price speculator, I'm just hoping NXT will be really used and really have value (no matter the exchange rate for $).

Thenever I see comparisons between NXT and other coins, I find it hard to believe it's only a nr.9 to 11 spot on the market-cap list,... there's a long way to go (also for bitcoin, which is still of course the main traction to crypto for many) but I feel we've come a very very long way in one year of NXTcoin.

thanks for the nice post, it's good to see some people really examining the marketspace, and eventually check NXT and like it Smiley

I agree, although i cant really complain about the name or logo personally.
I quite like it on the other hand, looks futuristic and the term "next" doesnt have to suggest being the "next" thing to beat Bitcoin, but rather the "next" generation of currency in general.
1610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2015 and WHY on: February 22, 2015, 08:32:48 PM

LOL - but NXT were never as cheap as today...

So folks, go and buy NXT now!  Grin

lol
Interestingly, in the movie, it was 2015 that they visited, so NXT was available (and at a cheap price)
So in this meme, basically its suggesting that the professor had even travelled further ahead in time and discovered NXT's true value! lol

JUST LEAVE THE LOGO ALONE DAMMIT!

WHY FIX WHAT IS NOT BROKEN? THE CURRENT ONE IS GOOD!

NUFF SAID, THATS MY RANT FOR TODAY!
1612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Erik Voorhees favors NXT on: February 20, 2015, 07:59:57 PM
I was happily surprised when Erik Voorhees recently replied on Twitter that "NXT is probably my favorite alt. Love the decentralized asset exchange."

To my knowledge Erik is the first bitcoin whale that speaks positively about Nxt, a milestone.

Next week he will be interviewed by DeBitcoin:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWC_hyKRV0o

(If you missed it, DeBitcoin also did a great interview at the time with me about NXT.)

Another important Bitcoin personality that has spoken favorably about Nxt is James D'Angelo from the world bitcoin network who made the 51% attack series that helped me a lot in valuing Proof of Stake and Nxt more. He replied that he follows Nxt closely and later complemented in comments my 51% attack warning video.

I've contacted other whales such as Olivier Janssens, who often talks about the centralization problems in bitcoin, as well as Roger Ver but have not received a reply.

NXT has many qualities but Erik V is always saying Bitcoin is so superior so he is just talking about the alt he dislikes less Wink

LOL, i think it could be more of a pride thing possibly, especially the thought of going back on his words about how amazing BTC was.

He knows NXT is better, just doesnt like to fully admit it.

Lets face it, what is better about BTC than NXT?

10min conformation time?
huge energy consumpton for mining the stuff and keeping the network alive?
No asset exchange?

I cant think of one thing that BTC can do better than NXT (or most other alts for that matter!) lol
1613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT WILL PREVAIL! on: February 20, 2015, 05:02:36 AM
NXT is the most accomplished altcoin IMO and i don't have a problem with its distribution since altcoin space is very small.
5000 accounts is bad? There are probably less than 25k people active in the altcoin space.

25K is not alot really is it? lol
I would like to find some solid stats on altcoins in general, because that is not alot of people and look at the global marketcap!
It really shows us that we are only at the tip of the iceberg with how big Crypto really will become in the years ahead.
 Cheesy
1614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT WILL PREVAIL! on: February 19, 2015, 09:33:40 PM
but only around 5000 with a balance of more than 1000 nxt.

5,000 is a lot after only one year.

I ran pretty much what you ran, going through every tx...
But I want SERIOUS USERS so the last table requires at least 10 tx/account...
Which gives you about 500 accounts/users with at least 100,000 NXT ($1,000) and 10 tx...
Probably 100 of these are either Devs or Business Owners... how long before someone hits a homerun?

And NXT is worth $10 million... and the Assets have hit $10 million = $20 million total...
That is flat over one year... while BTC is down 62%.

That info is quite interesting, firstly, it does show a good amount of adoption in only a year, secondly it shows there is plenty more room for adoption, and thirdly, it shows that its not too late to get into NXT... Wink

1616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Erik Voorhees favors NXT on: February 19, 2015, 08:27:55 PM
But does he like how the NXT initially was distributed?

Are you okay with people in 2010 buying BTC for cents? I know you are, so what's your problem? Roll Eyes

Same early adopter principle. Those who found out about NXT earlier were rewarded. Just like BTC.

Not really, in BTC early days, no one knew cryptocurrency would work.

Also, NXT distribution is beyond insane, even today, 15 people hold 80% of all NXT. Bitcoin distribution today is much more fair.

So what ? Ripple also holds almost 95% of their coins with Ripple Labs, Bitshare is not better... Darkcoin ? What about their huge premine, are all of these coins hidden now ? or are they really "fair" distributed ?

Litecoin has only large bag holders there are 10 people with over 8% of the max coin supply.

I really don't see why everyone mocks Nxt so much every other crypto project have these problems right now.

Completley agree!

Dont know why anyone would complain, NXT is as cheap as chips right now, buy, hodl, and promote NXT.

NXT WILL PREVAIL!
1617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: February 19, 2015, 08:25:12 PM
Is there a mobile wallet for NXT ?

Yes. Access through you mobile browser:

https://wallet.mynxt.info/

https://nxtblocks.info/ (front page)

Try both, let us know how you get on

Hm thanks. But its risky giving away the passphrase to a third party, isn't it  ?  But its ok to have some small amounts for paymant there...

Is there something like a litewallet under development ?

http://jnxt.org/vapor/

You can save the page and use it offline too.

And yes, NxtLite is under development
https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/(ann)-nxtlite/

I like the announcement of NxtLite this will help a lot to ease of access the assets . I am investing large amount in Nxt instead of Crypro is unstable so tiny part is for crypto at the moment.

Pretty much all my crypto portfolio is in NXT, i dont see any other way forward currently.

Shouldnt put all your eggs in one basket!

...not putting nxt down, but just saying you should diversify your portfolio more.

I do agree, i do hold a NEMstake also!
but what other options are there?
I do have some megacoin and thats about it.

i really dunno what to think about DRK, LTC, Blackcoin, bitshares, dogecoin etc.

http://coinmarketcap.com/

watch and read about different coins. I think its pretty much a crap shoot, but I hold like 50-60 different coins.  Alot of pumps, watch the pumps and make a strategy to make some money.  I really do like nxt too.

Yeah, alot of them are pumps, its knowing when the right time is to dump, ive been burned before, thats why i chose the more safer option of NXT, i know i wont get a quick return, but there is less risk.

Two things: So far, hands down, the best platform there is. No question about it. And support, ALREADY, of an enormous array of assets.

Second thing: Some 70 people own the lot of it. Any one or two of them cashing in, would sink the whole project and render it almost worthless.

That's why the price is 4k instead of 400k.

Aaagghhh...and a facepalm.
I'm gonna go completely mad if I have to tackle the initial distribution issue again........so I won't. Someone else can have a go.... Grin

It's a red herring anyway....NXTs current distribution is no better or worse than that of plenty of other cryptos, there are thousands of people invested in NXT.
Our big stakeholders have (mostly) proved over the last year that they will support NXT, and the few who wanted out of NXT are now out.
I'd like to also point out that the intial stakeholders are not faceless corporations or VC types, but average crypto investors who made a good decision.

NXT is in a good position right now, all it will take is for just one or two of the many current NXT-based projects to hit the big time, and NXT will take off like a train.

+1
I dont see the NEM distribution model being any better either.
There will always be whales with any crypto, and there are some large NEM bagholders, not to mention Bitcoin either.

If a whale dumps all their NXT, it will only be a good thing, even if it does make the price crash, it will allow others to buy the surplus NXT at a good price.

Im sick of the whole get rich quick attitude from alot of investors.

Your playing the wrong game if you think you will make a quick return in 12 months time, im thinking of what things will be like in 5-10 years...
