As of now I am holding my bitcoins as price is not the best to sell off my coins and will wait for the price to recover again as my goal is to sell some of them when price goes beyond $3k and rest I will sell when it achieves the price of $5k in near future and that is possible may in next year.
But looks you will not sell your bitcoin until august has come for us. The price of bitcoin would be stable as far as i know, Those people are ready for the improvement of the bitcoin itself. There will no a lot of activities in the bitcoin market especially pump the price of bitcoin to go to the moon. |

You have given the limited options, but i think the price of bitcoin will be around $2000, and after august at the same time those bitcoin users are using the segwit and feeling convenient with it. No doubt if the price of bitcoin will touch the new ATH at the end of this year. $2000 should be a reasonable decimal for it.

I guess the eth price crushed because many ico are selling eth they raised during their ico.Last few months we have seen huge funds raising by these ICOs and most of them have thousands of eth.Now they are selling it and that led to huge price fall.
I think so, but the project didn't make wise decision to keep them for the long-term period i mean over a years or more. The short locekd period just give the shock buy to the ethereum market. That gives a lot of the impact for the price of ether. |

If I know it will happen than I could buy more bitcoin. Whether investors want to cash out in order to make bitcoin price fall significantly to buy back at the dip. Great profits to get after 1-2 months later I think due to bitcoin price will rise after segwit activated (if it activated). However, it is a good chance to buy more bitcoin at cheaper price, and if it will drop until $1857 again which I doubt, then I should wait for that chance obviously.
You will get your chance at the same time of the scaling solution to be activated in the future.i will be expecting the big crash for bitcoin in a short time that gives you the more opportunity to buy cheap bitcoin. Like what was happened with ethereum at the chain gets forked. |

We will see the uncertainty around the various transitions of USAF ... FORKS 2MBSegwit and whatever will see BTC price drop alot....then a winner will appear and go to 10K each or a market cap of circa $200B on its own within the year.
The question is, that winner BTC, ETH, LTC, IOTA, NEM or DASH?
The first place is bitcoin, second is ethereum and the third is LTC. I think a lot of this caused by the UASF and especially the mother of greedy crypto politician such as jihan wuu. Too many people get rekt for their portfolios caused by this bad news. |

Is there any way for me to get them back or am I just fucked? OP is not saying a particular amount but everyone has their own exposure in investing their bitcoins, personally I have to admit I have less than 10 BTC but this is quite big to me already since I am still new and my lifestyle is not that lavish to have as much BTC to hold. Actually, with the holdings of me, I will intend it for long term holding because I know regardless of the market (pump and dump) the uptrend in general is very evident. Are you don't want to avoiding the lost caused by the hardfork will come as fast as possible? it looks good believe in bitcoin to be the long term investment but learned from the past that this can't be considered as a good things, Segwit give the more advantages but not for the forked chain of bitcoin |

So im looking to invest into bitcoin and because it's hard to determine whether price will drop or raise after 1st of August i have decided to invest a certain percent now, and the rest after 1st of August.
Is it safe to buy Bitcoins right now, and by safe i mean - in case of a fork, i have read some things about a chain being completely neglected as if it never happened. Am i safe to buy my BTC now and send them to my storage or is there a possibility in which that transaction becomes "neglected as it never happened" and the btc will disappear from my wallet?
Is it safe to purchase Bitcoins after 1st of August or once a fork happens? Any catches or things i should be looking at?
Just don't want to screw myself over because of my lack of knowledge. Appreciate all replies!
No matter what is safe in the present, everything is still blurry, we can not affirm anything, we always have to prepare ourselves for the worst situation, I will not Continuing to invest in bitcoin, but I will keep what I have at present. I think so, because those said the first august it will not be the actual date for the hardfork of bitcoin, i've read the hardfork can be activated anytime. Last time I swore not to get into any coin which is only listed on a single exchange but I did it again, I invested in IOTA and now it's down half the price which I bought, this should also be an indicator, never invest on coins only listed on a single site. because that's when they have the total control and could just by some clicks manipulate the prices.
You might have brought IOTA(IOU) tokens.some exchange do trading when a respective ico is going on.in order to get fees they start iou tokens buy and sell which lead to spikes in price ,but when the token are official released the price goes down. IOTA just traded on the bitfinex, We know the reputation of the bitfinex is really bad in my opinion. That makes a lot of people out from there and try to buy better exchange site. IOTA just another scam coin in my perspektive. |

I think it is possible the value of BTC falls down to $1000 again.
It all depends on trades volume. If you read bitcoin networks have raised fee per transaction, so there are chances people leave buying more bitcoins and the value will go down.
The forked will be the main thing to plunged the price of bitcoin to the bottom, That makes the community, the demand , and all of the things gets divided to the new forked coin of bitcoin itself. That will be possible for the price of bitcoin to reach around $1000 |

Once BTC splits into BTU does BTU price start from bottom or will it be same as BTC?
And should I buy more btc right now it's not for holding I will be investing into alt coins
The fork still being a rumour, There is no exact date that the fork will be happening in the future. You must remember the fork can happen anytime as the bitcoin already ready to get forked. That's really bad in my opinion. |
