2481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone placed esports bets? on: March 08, 2021, 06:32:14 AM
~
That definitely counts as a bet since cosmetic gambling was huge back then and most of them can be sold for real money but the value of these items are less than the actual market price because of the fees and conversion rates.
That's one of the reasons that I slowly fall out of love for betting in cosmetics in eSports, the value of the cosmetic most of the items depreciate in value. Contrary to your claim that the cosmetics are less in the market, there are actually some cosmetics that defy that logic, I don't know much about it but if you were to combine certain cosmetics, it gets more expensive than both cosmetics sold separately.
2482  Other / Off-topic / Re: Corruption and Sports on: March 08, 2021, 05:51:33 AM
Besides that, I think that can give a chance to players or sportsmen getting into the corruption. Maybe that is happening for a long time ago and we do not know who the players are getting trapped. But as soon as the sportsmen are caught accepting the money from corrupt people, the government will track them and get them into jail. Maybe the officials need to seriously concern about this matter so that the match fixing can reduce.
Players being coerced into participating in something corrupt is not that unheard of but at the same time, it is also rare that players are consensual in participation because higher ups do not want to split the profits any further down the line which is understandable but that is a difficult situation for the corrupt uppers because they do not control the player. Players that are consensual on the other hand are in danger because they are disposable pawns that can't point out who is the head and they will face all the backlash as they are the face of organization/league.
2483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Estrada vs Chocolatito WBC, WBA & Ring Magazine Unification Fight on: March 08, 2021, 05:02:43 AM
I rewatched the first fight a few days ago and the fight was much closer than what the scorecards suggested. Estrada fought really well at a distance but Gonzalez was able to chase him down and force him to exchange. The 12th round was an absolute war and both guys were trying to win by knockout because they knew how close it was.

In that first fight Estrada had to go down a weight class but in the rematch they will be fighting two weights above at super flyweight. This should be Estrada's biggest advantage because he is naturally the bigger man.
That could be the case but we have to consider that there is a mindgame involved, as you have said Chocolatito won their first bout and that could strain Estrada mentally because he is unconsciously pressured to defeat Chocolatito but that is just my theory, I agree that it can be another close fight but I would go for Chocolatito's experience could be the X-factor that might might make this fight favor him but as I have said in my last reply in this thread, anything could go wrong or right in this fight.
2484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Services of betting on your behalf on: March 08, 2021, 04:17:19 AM
Why i would entrust to them when i do make out bets? If im prohibited then i would just simply find another place to bet on.Im not really that interested
on using them knowing that there would be specific fees on using up their service or platform.it isnt really worth at all.
They do exist and i cant say that they are all scam just like on what been mentioned above.
That's your call on the matter, some people prefer not to have their names on the bet because they might be protecting their identity, or they find it more convenient than betting themselves. Why do you think that betting brokers are a scam?
2485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: March 08, 2021, 03:31:27 AM
Interesting to read the very many differences in signature earnings money management  Smiley I am on the hodlers' side because I try not to touch any of that from the moment I consider them like an extra investment. This little extra plus some monthly DCA is my way of stacking sats for the future
Good for you that you aren't losing it on gambling, we know that gambling is fun but we also know that it can easily eat away what we are saving. Not to mention that regret you will feel when you lost your satoshis in gambling at the current prices.
2486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: March 08, 2021, 02:45:48 AM
Poker and blackjack seems to be the go-to of these professional gamblers. I guesz because it's easy and the mechanics of the game are basically elementary and what makes it really hard is the human mind's lack of attention to detail, which these professionals honed to suit best in their particular game. Now that being said, they could just be fairly better than a regular poker player or blackjack enthusiast, with margins of failure still here and there. But knowing they are pro at their game adds that sense of intimidation.
You don't need a lot of attention to detail when it comes to poker because I believe that it is more on the psychology and tactics that you need to focus on more than attention to detail, maybe taking notes as to how your opponent behaves but that is not a lot of attention to detail. Blackjack on the other hand really needs a lot especially if you are card counting and with most casinos trying to outwit these people, an intense attention to detail. But that is not the only thing that a professional gambler should possess, a professional has to have some decorum too.
2487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People die from heart attack when they hit the jackpot. on: March 08, 2021, 02:10:24 AM
Considering that death from heart disease is the number one cause of death for men, you can create any selection like: "a man saw cheese in a hamburger and died." Yes, events such as winning the jackpot are very exciting, but we must understand that the main reason for such a tragedy is not this, but poor health.
Shock due to jubilation can be a factor despite poor health, because AFAIK even if you have a poor health and if there isn't any trigger or stressors present, the heart attack won't happen that quickly. I don't think that we should be worry about it though as I did some Google search and I found that heart attack due to winning lottery or similar things are a rare or at best undocumented cases, I could be wrong as I am just browsing the page one of the search engine.
2488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone placed esports bets? on: March 08, 2021, 01:28:00 AM
I don't know if this counts as eSports bet but back when I was an active Dota2 player, I was betting on the tournament The International 2017-2019 but not with money per se but with in-game cosmetics like Hero Skins, Hero Weapons, and Couriers, they have a monetary value but the betting site that I am using has a really simple system for this kind of betting which is nice. The wins are in-game cosmetics too but they are far more expensive than the in-game cosmetics that you have bet when you win.
2489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best gambling site for esport? on: March 08, 2021, 12:48:36 AM
Sportsbet is a great sportsbook website and a trusted one for esports betting, you can find lots of matches especially the top tier tournaments and you have a couple of good options, never had one problem with them deposits and withdraws are instant plus no KYC needed
Have to back up this one, Sportsbet is a good website overall and not to mention that they have an aesthetically pleasing websites which I believe should receive some appreciation, it is simple and elegant and the bets are easy to navigate, including the benefits from the quote above I think that OP should try visiting Sportsbet.
2490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where does Elon and Saylor store their bitcoins? on: March 06, 2021, 06:11:23 AM
Maybe at a cold wallet or any type of hardware wallet because I believe that they know how dangerous it is to store that large amount of bitcoin in an online storage. Or they might be using different addresses and wallets to store their bitcoin, this way they can prevent a one-hit one-kill type of attack. I don't think that we should be worrying about where does this institutional whales are storing their bitcoin because I believe that it is none of our business and the only way that it is our business is when we are planning something bad about it.
2491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Innovating mining farms! From strawberries to chickens ! on: March 06, 2021, 05:20:03 AM
Growing strawberries
Perfect place for Chickens !!!
Don't strawberries need cold weather to grow, I find that it will damage the crop if it is heated because that is how in my country the strawberries are being farmed, in the mountains where the temperature is low. I get the chicken part but you will have to spend a lot of money for ventilation to redirect the heat of the mining rig towards the coop because the alternative of putting it near the coop is not viable as chickens are very noisy farm animals and not to mention the chickenshit that they produce.
2492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Guy using bitcoin to cover his tracks while running from the authority on: March 06, 2021, 04:35:02 AM
It definitely will put it in a bad light when you include pedophiles in the same thread about bitcoin being used as a runaway money, not to mention that it is also a situation in USA, the land full of ignorant people and manipulation, the sin capital. If this story gets even more mainstream, I think that bitcoin will definitely suffer as there are a lot of media personality there that are willing to talk shit about bitcoin and they are going to sensationalize this story as something that will hurt bitcoin.
2493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto theories and candidates on: March 06, 2021, 04:01:07 AM
I find it funny that Hal Finney is in the list of candidates, I mean there is post history of satoshi and Hal about codes, and satoshi is thanking Hal because he complimented his work or something, I didn't bother checking the whole story, my point is if it was Hal then that means that satoshi is a egotistic person that needs the validation of everyone including himself, so in that connection, I believe that Hal is out of the candidates. I don't think that we should be worried about the real identity behind satoshi because it will only be bad for those who are enchanted by the enigma behind the identity, if it was reveal then the magic is lost.
2494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How bitcoin is fueling Tesla with Elon Musk $1b in profit on: March 06, 2021, 02:36:04 AM
Elon musk been the CEO of Tesla although not a 100% stake holder of the company has the entitlement of assigning the networth of Tesla to his name although he might not have the legal right to make person transactions with the assets but still have that benefit of assigning the companies net worth to his name
Elon can assign anything as long as the board members on Tesla is going to approve what he is proposing, CEO is not entitled because you own the company, the title is bestowed on people that are chosen by the board as the one that is most capable to manage the company.
2495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The World Without Bitcoin on: March 06, 2021, 02:00:33 AM
Cashless society isn't a dream, isn't credit cards a form of cashless transaction? World without bitcoin will definitely be boring and I am glad that it did exist but if we were to look at it in an non-hindsight way, we wouldn't even notice that banks are exploiting us although the time will come when we will slowly realize what they are doing and we will be awaken and will get away from their grasp. But considering right now the density of the population that knows about bitcoin, I don't think that there won't be a lot of things different if there ever was bitcoin in the first place.
2496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin mixers are only for criminals on: March 06, 2021, 01:25:38 AM
Coin mixers being able to operate publicly is a sign that the Bitcoin economy has a way to go to see legitimacy. Of course coin mixers assist scammers as their purpose is literally to launder money. I’m sure at some point these operations will be shut down, have their funds confiscated, and likely their owners jailed.
If mixers were to go public and shut down their operations on scammers/illegal entities then it will defeat the purpose in the first place, I don't see the point that people are trying to defend mixers because it is true that they are used for such illegal activities, denying it would be looking the other way. I support the privacy of each individual but if that privacy is being used as an excuse to commit crimes, I think that I wouldn't mind having my privacy taken away, better that there are less crimes.
2497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fact about Nigeria new law on Crypto ban within the country on: March 06, 2021, 12:46:06 AM
I am a Nigeria but the law has done nothing to us. I withdraw at least 3 times awake. The P2P from major exchanges are walking perfectly.
The law only affected direct depositing and withdrawal from banks to exchange.
That means that there is nothing to worry about there when you are using crypto in Nigeria right? But that would mean that large transactions there are going to be difficult because you can't do it in one go  because it might raise some flags. I still want that law to be abolished because I think that it limits bitcoin/cryptocurrency in Nigeria in some sort of way.
2498  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How do I create and design simple website? on: March 06, 2021, 12:09:30 AM
So, as many have suggested, I decided to try the WordPress route. At first, I thought it was just another blogging platform, but now I see it's a lot more than that. I've never had any experience with the PHP language before, but I think I'm going to manage.

I've already set up a local server and a MySQL database, and everything works perfectly.
Good for you that you are able to go for Wordpress, you can never go wrong with it and not to mention the community behind the Wordpress is big so if you have any questions, chances are you can get some answers, be careful with the Database part, make sure that it can handle expansion.
2499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The cost of the world's financial systems on: March 05, 2021, 12:01:05 PM
From this images,we come to know many new facts. The banking system had consuming more electricity then a bitcoin mining.Their was FUD about the usage of electricity for the mining of bitcoin. So we a traders can claim our people,we are not only responsible for the more use of the electricity by the mean of mining.
Well, everyone can create an image comparing all of them, are they accurate or are they just for artistic purposes. We have to really not care about the electrical consumption of bitcoin because it won't help if we are just looking at the numbers, it doesn't matter that we are being compared, they will continue to spite us if all we do is look at the numbers and do nothing about it. Only action will make these critics shut up, they do not care even if we were to show that traditional financial instruments are making more consumption.
