2501  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We should build a seastead on: March 05, 2021, 10:17:33 AM
Given the risks and inconveniences involved in trying to live on a sea (especially outside EEZs), wouldn't it be at some point be easier to figure out a way to find a country willing to part with sovereignty over a small piece of land in a non-strategic location? Bir Tawil also looks interesting, but not sure whether it has water without having to drill too deep.
We don't have to drill to build seasteads, the world is almost ocean, a seastead should have its own sovereignty. We can copy how cruise ships work, they are quasi seasteads, you can live there for the rest of your life if you want. The only problem with seasteads is that it will need a lot of resources because it has to function like a country but that isn't enough to outweigh the benefits of seastead, people can choose who will govern them and seasteads will be competing for people to live in them because they have the most basic economy and they need people to make it work or seasteads can be used for economic experiments like UBI(Universal Basic Income), Cryptocurrency Driven Economy, and other Economic theories that we are too afraid to try in countries because the implications are just too big to do it there.
2502  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: cryptospot.nz - bitcoin price comparison for New Zealand on: March 05, 2021, 09:28:35 AM
I would suggest that you should add more color to your website, I like the content already and I don't know much about technical stuff but I think aesthetic-wise, I think that you can improve your website.
I like that design, in fact it's the only thing I liked.
You liked it because you have a black on your name  Cheesy Cheesy. Kidding aside, I do love black and somber colors but clients of the website would disagree and there will be a lot of people that is going visit and many won't like it or otherwise.
If you make your site open source I may modify it my country. Cheesy
Do this one OP, some altruism won't hurt and you will be credited for it hopefully.
2503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another month of March on: March 05, 2021, 08:44:29 AM
We are starting with huge pump,
so, don't feel panic and don't do stupid panic sell. People are started doing stupid thing when they see a normal dump, everyone wants continuous pump.
Panic selling is the only one causes of market uncertainty, as starting is good and 4 hour chart gives a trend reversal signal, hope we will back to our bullish wage.
My next target is crossing ATH again and making a new historical ATH within this month.
This is a redundant statement in anytime of the year, panic sell is always a no-no when you are in bitcoin market, the prices do go down but the return pump is going to be bigger than the dump as if to reward those who stayed and hodl. Stupid people will always win stupid prizes, so I don't bother when someone who is clearly a stupid one does something like that because I know that they will do it anyway. To answer OP's question, we don't know what will happen this month, same as any person, what we can do is just guess what happens and have faith. The March of the past years are not the same as this year's March remember that, the prices should've be down before even February starts but it didn't drop so who knows what might be in store for us in this year that keeps on surprising me and assumingly everyone.
2504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How future applications would be !? on: March 05, 2021, 07:49:09 AM
I would say that e-commerce would be the most successful application if it ever were to integrate blockchain on its system. In a free world that has a economy that yearns and is driven by a free market, e-commerce that can directly do transactions with the clients is going to be revolutionary. There might be others that I can't put my head right now but I am pretty sure that e-commerce applications and websites will be the one that will stand on top.
2505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How often are people really hacked out of their BTC? on: March 05, 2021, 07:04:26 AM
Most hacked bitcoiner cause of using malware/phishing wallet/software/website, some of them while using electrum and got phished by installing from malicious server the prompts as a notification. While some of them while using exchanges that were hacked.

The lesson is always verify the source/signature of every wallet you want to install on your device. And don't ever put your bitcoin on exchanges for a very long time or as an alternative for wallet.
Pretty much every victim of bitcoin/cryptocurrency related hacks is due to this kind of attack but there is a small percentage that are caught not because they are going into this sites but they are a big mouth and they are arrogant which means that they blabber about how they are hodling bitcoin and how he/she will be rich and such which could be a good thing for attackers because they can just listen to this arrogant people brag about their bitcoin and the fine details without the effort of going for a full technical route.
2506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vanity address scam rising on: March 05, 2021, 06:20:10 AM
Not really surprising considering that bots and other shill accounts with the same name as Elon's twitter handle and profile picture are all over the place. Plus, people are too greedy to the point that they actually believe some of these double your money schemes that are literally everywhere, even if the scheme is actually perpetrated by scammers.

The scam will always be there. The scammed, however, can be prevented if only people use due diligence and common sense.
As if everyone has a common sense, some people will only know that they have or use common sense when someone says to use it. The only way to destroy bots is if there is some kind of AFK checker that can only be overridden if there is a human behind that computer, that was used by many games that I played back then to prevent bots from farming.
2507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could one day be a preferred currency for conducting international trade on: March 05, 2021, 05:28:59 AM
It will be preferred because currently is it untouchable when it comes to taxes which is a good thing for international trades, the prices of products shipped will be lower. Not to mention that businesses would want this kind of thing in order to pay less taxes.
2508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am claiming the 3,350.00 BTC prize offered by bytcoin on: March 05, 2021, 04:50:26 AM
~
I could not image myself in that situation just throwing away Bitcoin because at that time the value was so low and then fast-forward 2021 I then see that the value has already reached the stratosphere -- I could have then sleepless nights just thinking of how my life could have been changed for good with the money. Anyway, good thing it never happened to me. Happy to note that BurtW still have some Bitcoin left, and maybe he can still consider himself to be really rich and lucky.
You can't imagine because you can see the current prices and what you are imagining is throwing away 40k USD not 1 USD. Why would you have sleepless nights about things that happened in the past, hypothetically you throwing those coins in the past is not something to regret, you didn't know the prices will skyrocket, what you are feeling would be hindsight.
2509  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BTC taxes - Unknown cost basis on: March 04, 2021, 09:14:01 AM
If you don't want to pay taxes, sell your coins on a P2P exchanges or sell it personally with cold hard cash, that way you don't have any problem with paying taxes as you have paid it directly from the person. You can use XMR or a mixer if you worry that much.
2510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How way you choose way to saving Bitcoin ? on: March 04, 2021, 08:21:34 AM
If it is savings then better to spread it out into a few wallets IMO,,, just to spread the risk if one gets lost or stolen.

But for daily purposes always better to only use one wallet and even to practice consolidation of inputs so you do not pay high miner fees when spending.
Why would your wallet get stolen, unless you are a blabber mouth or you are gullible and always clicking suspicious links then I can understand why you got your wallet stolen but to split the money on different addresses to mitigate risk when there is clearly no risk to mitigate is a bullshit. One wallet is enough, at best condition, a wallet is as strong as Fort Knox. I would disagree about one wallet is for daily purpose, one wallet can do other things.
2511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 21 million is it just a pointless number and nothing to do with scarcity? on: March 04, 2021, 07:33:22 AM
It would be a pointless number if each satoshi is equivalent to 1 USD and it isn't so your point is invalid. A supply cap like the 21 million bitcoin has something to do with scarcity, because if they can't add more into the supply, the lowering of it will only make the price increase which is scarcity.
2512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will Quantum computing affect Bitcoin? on: March 04, 2021, 06:58:46 AM
We don't know the current peak capability of quantum computing as it is still in its early stages but one thing is sure that it will be a problem for bitcoin because as what is on the paper says about quantum computing, it will be far faster than any computer in the market and in any laboratories. We also have to stop telling people that quantum computing will be able to hack the private key of everyone, yes it has faster calculations but that doesn't mean that it will crack the key in a matter of days, if right now the current brute force duration is the heat death of the universe, maybe with quantum computing, the time it takes will be cut in half but that is still a whole lot of millennia.
2513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont stay in crypto too long on: March 04, 2021, 06:19:30 AM
A newbie's interpretation of the current stature of the market indeed. There's no way bitcoin can be controlled by a single government for that matter. First off, it is decentralized. Secondly, it is made to be anonymous, even regulating it proves to be a herculean task for some countries. So the chances of the government being able to tap into bitcoin or any cryptocurrencies' power for that matter is basically zero.
The government doesn't need to control every aspect of bitcoin/cryptocurrency to control it, they can just control one part and focus their efforts on making sure that people are going to be learning a lot of the negative side of bitcoin/cryptocurrency. It is indeed a herculean task but we know that if the country is powerful enough, they can do it. USA can interfere with the politics of other countries, I am sure that controlling bitcoin is an easy task for them.
Thing about cryptocurrencies is that you have to choose the best one, and in the vast sea of coins currently popping in and out on the market, it could be difficult. But there are well established coins out there like bitcoin that could continuously make you money provided that you have the patience it takes.
I agree, with a lot of cryptocurrency/bitcoin wannabes out there trying to have your attention, you have to be smart about it. Sticking with established won't get you big profits as they are already established which is why I like to advice that sometimes investing in risky new cryptocurrency is helpful as they are really affordable and they might go up in prices.
2514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment is limited on: March 04, 2021, 05:37:55 AM
Bitcoin has no prejudice. Bitcoin prefers no race, religion, or person. It is freedom. This and the fact that it requires no trust is why I love it so much. As soon as there is human interference things go "wrong" or go "missing".

Talking about blind people. Maybe bitcoin is better than using notes? When you scan the qr code the person has it will tell you what the details and amounts are. Maybe with banknotes, you give the wrong one day? I know they different sizes but for someone blind giving someone, the wrong note can happen if you in a rush or something, think about it. So having a QR code that announces out with a voice what the details are is really helpful. You can also enable safeguards for the blind person which will also increase security. For example, they must say a certain word with their own voice in order to fully confirm a transaction before going out.
The problem is not bitcoin but the technology that is used in it, if the technology isn't built to cater everyone even those with disabilities. The problem with blind people navigating bitcoin is that they need assistance which could be risky as the assistant can just mislead the blind to the point of stealing the bitcoin that the blind is planning to invest in. Voice interaction could be a big help and but this is also limited.
2515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am claiming the 3,350.00 BTC prize offered by bytcoin on: March 04, 2021, 04:51:27 AM
I do not think that address ever had 2562.90203395 that is how much it received over 225 transactions to that address.

We used to throw 100 BTC at a gambling site in those days.  I remember paying 25 BTC for a couple of cases of Girl Scout cookies on a whim just to support the "Bitcoin economy".  I spent or lost a lot of BTC in my time.

I have some left, not 2000 BTC, but I managed to keep a few.
Imagine the simple times when everyone just throws bitcoins on something on a whim, everyone right now would be freaking out because they know the current value of bitcoin but they disregard the fact that back then it was just small amount. It is a good thing that you still have some bitcoin. Congratulations on your win though.
2516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was invited to speak about Bitcoin to financial management college students on: March 04, 2021, 03:52:06 AM
Hope that you wouldn't mind inviting us if it is possible if you ever have a talk/seminar about bitcoin. What you are doing is a good thing for the community and the students themselves, if I may be blunt, I would say that you are doing them a favor introducing them to bitcoin and cryptocurrency because we know that it can change the life of someone, there are stories that I want to share but it will be a long story and I don't even know where to start. Good luck on your talk/seminar and hopefully many people are going to be curious and explore bitcoin/cryptocurrency after your talk/seminar.
2517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congrats to the Diamond Hands Bitcoin Holders! on: March 04, 2021, 03:14:02 AM
Ayye, we need more love for the smaller guys!

Congratulations if despite your financial situation and even if you live in a poor country, you still try to save more money every week/month to be able to stack more bitcoin!
I would consider myself as one, I am planning to reach 0.02 bitcoin this year and hopefully, I wouldn't have any reason to pull out the bitcoins that I have for cash. But to be fair, this is a celebration for the people that have large amounts of bitcoin so I better give my own cheers for them.
2518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let satoshi talk to us. on: March 04, 2021, 02:34:49 AM
What kind of speech you want satoshi to give again, whatever you need to know is on the whitepaper, isn't that the reason why whitepaper exist ( I always wonder why it is called whitepaper though)
Satoshi is resting somewhere far away and don't have the need to address and speak to people about what he created, he had done what needs to be done, your own part is use it wisely and enjoy it.
satoshi did what I think is best for his creation, let it loose without much interference from him. I wouldn't want satoshi to do some talk or speech because the enigma behind his disappearance to the public will be lost, as the quote above says, the whitepaper has it all already, what is left for satoshi to say? That I don't know.
2519  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the world be without poverty on: March 03, 2021, 10:59:50 AM
Technically, those at the top can solve the poverty but why would they do it? Solving poverty means that they can't find desperate people that will do their bidding so they can stay at the top. I agree that it is possible but we have to be able to convince those at the top that they will benefit more if there isn't poverty, but I know that it will be impossible because once the people at the poverty line is saved, the middle class will not have anything to be fearful because I believe that the rich put the poor people so the middle class are put in their place protecting what they currently from being stolen by the poor.
2520  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: cryptospot.nz - bitcoin price comparison for New Zealand on: March 03, 2021, 10:16:28 AM
I would suggest that you should add more color to your website, I like the content already and I don't know much about technical stuff but I think aesthetic-wise, I think that you can improve your website. Can they also buy bitcoin and other cryptocurrency in the website because if not, I think that it is a good addition to your website which could hopefully get more traffic. Also, add the About section on your website so as to make your website more credible because the users know that there is a real people behind it.
