NXTcash project

klee is funding a NXTcash project.

The goal of this project is to integrate zerocoin/zerocash functionality into NXT. Nxtchg and I will be sharing tech duties, need a lot more help.

Not sure of total bounty for this but at least one million NXT. Maybe CfB would combine his bounty and others too?

NXTcash will make NXT the place to get the next and only form of cash!

James

https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=701

We can use aldrin's 500K nxt too!

EDIT: And a piece from the unclaimed funds.

+1, if only everyone knew how much of the worlds software is Java.

Java 8 is great; Nxt's java code not so much nor the design of the Proof of Stake. They seem to have a very active community and thus it will likely get better quickly.

A part of me does wonder though whether integrating this in is good for Nextcoin.. seems to me like a lot of people may wonder why you are being shady about it and trying to obscure the transactions. Just Bitcoin mixers always strike me as the shady side of Bitcoin, that part that allows easy money laundering.  I mean why else would you use one?  The one part of crypto's I could see being made illegal.

Because it protects people from corruption and tyranny..
Because it recreates the functionality of cash.
If everybody who uses cash is a criminal, then we all are
We are talking about having money that can be used like cash
Being able to spend money without EVERYBODY knowing exactly how you spend all your money.

There is nothing wrong with this.
FUNGIBILITY

Any UK Nxt holders? We need to position ourselves to get on Bittylicious to increase liquidity. The ability to purchase Nxt without Bitcoin is a big deal and one we should put some energy towards.

I was hoping somebody else would step up to the plate on this one, but since they haven't. here's my two cents, er, shillings worth.  I have a UK Barclays bank account I use to fund my online poker adventures.  It's a totally legal one in my own name, no funny business; I've filed the correct paperwork on it with the IRS and Department of the Treasury here in the US and even voluntarily gave up the number for it during my last security clearance interview.  I go thru a proxy and look like I'm in London since the online poker sites block me otherwise coming from an American IP address block.  All of these gyrations are due to the 2006 UIEGA anti-online-poker act that was passed here in America, land of the free; but I digress...

Bottom line, I've got the UK bank account but I have no desire to sell any of the NXT I've accumulated.  However, I understand the importance of getting NXT hooked up to Bittylicious so I'm willing to try and help.  If I've got enough public trust built up here, maybe people could dump NXT they wanted to sell into one of my toy NXT accounts, Bittilocious could take it out of that account to give to a buyer, send GBP to my Barclays account, and I could send that back to the original NXT holders via Moneybookers/Skrill (I've also got accounts there, too.)

This would require me to be a trusted middleman, which I'm OK with if you are.

If we really want to pursue this, let me know, I'll do my part to get NXT rolling in the UK.
I can send you some NXT to help this effort.

2546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 29, 2014, 05:53:54 PM
yes, we need unless you prefer emunie starts to gain market share at the expense of nxt. What would happen if emunie starts to gain investor attention because they implement some features that nxt is just talking about??

don't you think it would be better to say to the world, look, nxt is here with those features done before any other crypto and make a strong marketing campaing.

Has any stakeholder talked about hiring a good SEO or marketing professional??

TBH, I prefer to use Nxt as store of value, eMunie as mean of exchange and Ethereum for public smart contracts (to fund firemen, etc.).

i deduct from your answer that you like Nxt as a store of value because it is going to rise in value against any other currency. Am I correct in this assertion?

How would it be achieved if nxt starts to lose value against other currencies because it does not gain investor focus?? In this case, it would be useless as a store of value.

do you have any ace upon your sleeve (whatever it is) in relation to the promised nxt innovations just in case any other currency becomes mainstrem instead of Nxt??

thank you for your answers.

Well, for one, NXT is not inflationary. Emunie and Eth have huge inflation.

So why would NXT lose it's store of value if "it does not gain investor focus"? Will all of your coins suddenly be worth less?

Also, is it just me or suddenly in the last 5 pages or so people became very, very concerned with price? People forgot already NXT went all the way up to $60mil market cap in 2 months already? Yes, it's a slow period, price-wise, but this always happens after a large rise.

My advice, don't worry about the price. We have people here that constantly deliver good results, I wouldn't want them to half-ass something just so a few people can make a quick buck.

I can't say much about Ether but to me Emunie is based on some very questionable assumption such as Emunie's price will always rise. As long as Emunie's price is falling, the whole thing would just collapse. It is very difficult to keep a currency stable and impossible with crypto currency due to a heavy element of speculation.

I believe Emunie is doomed to fail at the first crash. So sorry Cfb, you won't have a chance to use Emuine to exchange because it won't reach that scale ever.
I am very curious to see how MSC, Bitshares, eMunie and Ethereum will handle the regulatory pressures (they are eponymous - launched IPOs without being SEC compliant, even Bitshares with their Angelshares) while NXT and XCP followed Satoshi's paradigm.

Furthermore they are not decentralised and we all have seen how popular Ripple is...in fact this is the weakest link in Mastercoin - almost a non existent community, only bounties left untouched!!

While here we have a supportive community thriving with developers and promoters - make me feel guilt I am a big stakeholder while other people do so much things for NXT.

At least I am not shamelessly attacking the community while I DON'T DO ANYTHING about it - I am talking about you eMULE, your nick could not much you any better!
2547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 29, 2014, 04:22:15 PM

You can kick this pig, is going nowhere. One of your big stakeholders in all respect of NXT dumped 1M coins on Bter just to let you all see I can.
I hope you all not surprised this pig is not moving.
The big stakeholders are offloading for more than a weeks now and they will continue to do so for months so don’t expect price to rise in the coming months, but expect the worse, and don’t give me the“good coins getting wide spread” now sh**, cos coins going nowhere, 60 people own 80% of NXT.!!!
You were still not able to release the “official” client (vaporware) so people will have to use other clients instead.
Nexern is personally responsible for the price dip (3x he did not deliver) that will follow after my message.
Just like CCinvestor I am a whale waiting to dump but as you do not succeed to produce anything I start dump right now. (and don’t give me the “good coins getting wide spread” again)
Marketing is a disaster and a joke, you gave 1M to 1 guy that decides to give it out on stupid translations and stupid video.
Nowhere have I seen any marketing effort of value! There is no master plan, no guidance and leadership like dogecoin did, lack of that will kill this puppy soon
Meanwhile you all discussing stupid things like voting system and color of the coin, NXT get your act together and start do something cos ethereum and emunie will kill you instantly they hit the market. What you all got right now is hot air.
It is arrogant to think you have something to offer that others don’t have, if you don’t start get NXT ibn to the open before ethereum and emunie might as well sell all your freaking coins right now cos rhey are worth sh***

and where is that f*** client!

Then get yourself together and make giveaways, promotions and fund some big projects. I'm not a big stakeholder, I have a few several thousand NXT, but I'm trying my personal best with my projects. If I would have 1 million NXT or more I would work full time on Nxt for 6 months or more, to make it worth nearly $1each.

Why should i, did lophie or any other 80 big holders do this?
No, especially me!

I am sending my whole funds @BTER, I will make you poor first! Wink
2548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: January 28, 2014, 08:16:54 PM
Mastercoin is dead.  Completely over.  WTF?
i would not worry too much.
it was a drop with very low volume.

The market has absorbed 92K BTC in volume, back to .1 BTC/MSC. I'm curious to know what triggered the sell-off, but equity markets remind me of the ostrich farm I visited, where the flock will just all suddenly stampede for no apparent reason, stop as suddenly as they started, mill around a bit, then suddenly all stampede again, repeating the cycle every 15 minutes or so.

One thing I can think of is people preparing to diversify into Ethereum. Overall news from MSC project itself has been good lately. NXT and Protoshares, the other closest competitors to Ethereum have also seen some sell off lately, just not to the extent of MSC. It looks like a lot of money will be finding its way into Ethereum when the pre-sale opens. There's also the global conventional markets sell-off, so maybe there's been an overall flight to safety out of the crypto markets.
I decided to invest 1 year AFTER the IPO, probably when people will sell Eth like they sell MSC now...

Too many coins... I fear a very bad ending... hopefully not for cryptocurrencies in general.   Undecided

Don't worry. When I launch Qubic all cryptocoins will die, only cryptoplatforms will survive.
It must be Putin resistant and Bitlisenced Tongue

This isn't modeled, but is a simple icon/logo:

"NXT image"
"Stop sign"

Are you saying the shape of the NXT sign reminds you of a stop sign and has a negative connotation?  Actually the NXT symbol is a hexagon and a stop sign is an octagon, they aren't even the same shape...

I wonder if BCNext has picked the hexagonal NXT symbol he did for a reason...like bees in a hive using a hexagonal comb?  Could this be an allusion to a "hive"?
It just reminds me of the stop sign though I am not sure if this is good or bad!
Just noticed the one is hexagonal and the other octagon Tongue

Need some help in understanding the basics of NXT.

I thought that transparent mining would greatly decrease transaction time. However, average transactions of for example 100 NXT with 1 NXT fee take a few hours. To me this is slow and not VISA speed at all. Could someone clarify why the transaction time is a few hours?
Not implemented 100% yet
