Previous November, wasn't for Gox collapse this scenario was very probable

Was not the previous november/december the months the last major rise happened? As for it being probable, we will have to disagree there. That article screams "over-enthusiastic" to me, which matches the general sentiment at the time. That article was the first thing I saw that made me nervous, either that or Fox News talking up bitcoin, whichever one came first, I can't remember.
Agree on over-enthusiastic. Maybe I should have said possible rather than probable.
And yes we peaked end of November.

1% scenario for you to lose money, according to him:

http://t.co/yvessDPoz7

That's the same dude that was calling for a $3200 top on the last rise.
Which rise exactly?

Can you link the article? I don't remember this...

I'm no longer afraid of any price dump even though I'm still all in. I liquidated material assets I no longer wanted and will keep buying during these big dips.

yeah right now you either believe (or really stupid your choice of viewpoint) or you are already out

me still in but it will have to hit 150 usd for me to start to get nervous

my problem in all this is the bath I'm gonna take on the NO ROI NO REFUND KNC Titan scrypt miner (sigh)

WTF it is only $$$$ but yeah should do the same sell stuff in attic on ebay ..buy BTC..if BTC tanks and goes beanie baby ..now have clear attic

fix floor make rec room ...house value goes up the amount i sold of crap in attic ....a wash!

(it is that kinda logic that gets me in trouble often...ie see above KNC Titan)

Maybe you should seriously consider locking your profits if it breaks 300$ again, just saying...

He's been absent in the market, too.

Absent, or on the sell side?   Wink

I know you're probably joking but I'm almost certain that none of the selling is associated with jl777.
If you are not 100% sure why comment then?

You have traders to sell.

You are not one man show, your word says nothing in this matter, sorry.

Guys I have a question, especially for traders of other stuff (stocks, commodities, indices etc).

Which other asset has similar volatility in the same timeframe as Bitcoin? And with good volume?

I want wild price fluctuations in about the timeframes that BTC has (not so fast as forex).

Any ideas?

Help appreciated.

FX has usually daily volatility around 0.5-1% and I would say this is quite low volatility compared to other assets, there are of course strong trend moves which can change rate 10-30% in a couple of months.

I would say VIX (volatility index) and it's derivatives (VXX, XIV, TVIX...) resemble the BTC crazy moves. When stock markets are in uptrend expect around 5% daily volatility, when in crashing mode 10-30% daily volatility is normal.
Thanks mate..

Heh, penny stocks was taken. Also, it depends on how you view the question before or after the lottery.
Penny stocks have same volume?

I am still asking seriously.
Michael Milken made a fortune with his junk bonds and penny stocks. In the 1980's boiler rooms built the Wall Street nest of vipers we have today.
edit: I'm talking about asset classes. As far as individual assets, maybe BRK.A or military contracted industrials if you count stock splitting.
I will search the latter, thx!

Hey I'm new to the thread can anyone give me the cliff notes on why I should drop a couple BTC here. Thanks!

Same here.

I sense an extensive post coming.

Well, apart from having the chance to get in and ride the train of the BEST 2nd GEN cryptocurrency,
here are some of the features in brief:

  • New code, totally built from scratch, original and not a clone.
  • Naming exchange integrated. You can buy/sell key pairs.
  • Voting feature implemented (community already voted for the sequence in which features will get implemented). Democratic and fast.
  • Asset exchange with advantages that NO OTHER crypto has - eg. an asset can have dividends & asset/asset exchange is supported.
  • Qora has the best approach for user simplicity - it is so user friendly that even a total newbie can use it.
  • It has a new POS algorithm - depends on activity and amount of coins your wallet holds, if I remember well.
  • The block time depends on network activity.
  • It has arbitrary transaction support integrated into the core, so developers can build apps on top of qora (eg. chat/blog apps).
  • It boosts the transaction speed, by not having to broadcast the transactions to the whole network.
  • There is maximum wallet security -> you have to enter a seed and not just a password to gain access to your wallet.
  • You can forge new blocks without leaving the wallet unlocked.
  • Qora will have Automated Transactions build-in to the core, once the crowdfunding succeeds. It will be the first to have such huge innovation. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=822100.0
  • The developer has shown that he has extremely high competence in programming, he is very communicative and to me he is the only one who can code efficiently and at an extremely high speed.
  • Qora is just starting..so don't miss the chance to get in. It's way too cheap now imho. It should be in the top 3 list of cryptocoins worldwide. With such a dedicated dev and features being constantly built inside qora, it's a win-win situation.
