The number of transactions are closing in on ath. Number of transactions and price have had a close correlation before and probably will in the future (see Peter R work relating to Metcalfe's law). Either that correlation is broken or something has to give.

Number of transactions excluding popular adddresses.

Weird how happy I am to see again the enlightening posts from a Prophet of Doom (paradox?), especially in these dark days lately...

Down another five percent. So what?

Only 5% and before that only 7 and before that only 5 and before that only 3 and before that only 10 and in total only 60.
No problem. Everything looks fine.

And smart money can't wait to get in! And Gabi. It's bullish as hell really.

Ask yourself one question: Do you belief Bitcoin will reach 1000 USD again?

If the answer is yes, hold or buy. Simple as that.

I used to be convinced of that. But imo it should already have happened. People here seem to think Bitcoin can just go down and down and then magically go up again. Yes this happened a few times times but one day it will stop. Now was the time for it to get big. To go up. Instead everybody seems to be cashing out and scaring away new people. It's doing the opposite of what it should do.
I'm not sure if we will get yet another chance. I think this was it and it failed.

If its any comfort to you i'm loosing thousands USD and being ok with one bottle of scotch a day.
Not your liver though Tongue

Am I the only one to see the little boing back up?

Either way, for arbitrage today is a good day.
My gut says we are in the bottom and something like this will happen but my amygdala says otherwise  Tongue

I bought a few down from 2800 to 2700 just in case! About 1/8 of my cash...

The only way for Bitcoin to lose now is by being overtaken by another cryptocurrency. So, the question now is, what do you think the odds are of Bitcoin failing (let's say going to a market cap <100 Million).

Well that is very unlikely to happen. Also I don't want to be losing 99% of my wealth so I would jump out first, much before.

This jumping out, if it for some reason gains traction, could make the air (market cap) go from one balloon to another really fast.

Nobody can be complacent.

Risto,

You pointed to the SSS strategy for raking a % in case BTC/USD climbed at a given price range, a strategy I fully agree to.

You also pointed to hedging BTC position with an equivalent position in XMR, wich I also agree.

I'm interested to know about your exit strategy in case Bitcoin values come below certain USD values. I mean, what percentage of BTC would you sell (for USD or XMR) at each price range?

Thanks.

Bitcoin has a long history of steep dips, yet it has always gone higher. I think it is prudent to never sell below ATH.

Same applies to Monero of course.

Don't invest in BTC/XMR any money that you cannot lose. And sell so much in the tops that you can take the dips to zero if need be, without getting tempted to sell at the bottom.

What about bet, Monero has BIG security flaw and will be ZERO next week ?
Look, an insider!

Dipped again, bought again. Cheap coins for everyone who wants them!

Obviously no one

The fact that the price has been sustained at, or above $450 for a while, with more BTC being created daily, shows plenty of people want them. Wink

Really ? I cant remember since when the price was/is sustained @ $450, wait... is it since the time it was $550 and you said we will never see $500 again, or is it since the time the price was $650 and you said you feel a bubble forming ?

cant really blame you, people are just desperate..... meanwhile lets do something fun, you ask your inspiration (risto, for readers who doesn't know) about how many coins he still hold and he have to sign a message were coins are contained, and come back to me with the answer and I will make it more fun and interesting with few other facts.
So what a fair price would be for you?
