2541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terra Luna Classic and Terra Luna 2.0 on: May 29, 2022, 09:24:11 AM
I am afraid all of these will yield nothing, Luna is just one of those classic pump and dump coins, and quite a lot of such coins have come and gone down the years, and that is exactly what is happening to Luna right now, the efforts at recovery is seen, but sorry it will end up being futile, and sooner or later Luna will be forgotten. The funny part of all of these is that another similar coin is going to spring up yet again, pretty soon, investors and novices as well will buy and cause hype, then the coin crashes again, and people lose so much money to it, rinse and repeat, investors do not just learn, they want to make quick money, forgetting they can't be lucky all the time.
2542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who knows where one can claim free Shiba on: May 29, 2022, 09:07:39 AM
I believe that Shiba will forever be a big name in crypto industry if they successfully launch the shibarium blockchain which is a layer 2 tech, this will solve many issues like the CEO said, looking forward to the release by June ending, with this strategy it will be bigger than doge coin.
Utility is what makes a coin a long term project in the crypto network, does Shiba have actual utility to be a long term project, or is it just a pump and dump coin backed by quite a lot of promises that prolly would not come into fruition, i am not attempting to discourage you in your believe, but these are essential questions investors must ask themselves. In my opinion i believe Shiba is just a short term project that would only last as long as its hype does.
There was a time in 2017 where you can claim free doge coin every minutes or hour through the faucet website but now they are not working again, I guess that's because things have changed a lot, doge coin is no more a cheap coin but I think Shiba Inu is now in where Doge coin was years ago so is there any faucet for Shiba Inu?
You are basically looking for free coins, i am afraid it is going to be difficult to get, and mind you that even if you do it is going to be little or nothing, if you really want Shiba, you better buy some with your cash.
2543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 27, 2022, 05:05:15 PM
Liverpool will never leave Manchester City without competition, this season is living proof that we really compete until the last second.
Of course i know that Liverpool will always push City, and vise versa, they are the two best teams in the land at the moment, and their performances and trophies is proof of that. But my point is, City keep getting the better of their rivals Liverpool in the EPL, and in my opinion it is set to happen again next season. City have made great acquisitions in the attacking side of their team, and that will even make them stronger, it is still a long way before the new season starts, but i am already optimistic of City grabbing the title yet again, let us keep our fingers crossed though.
2544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 26, 2022, 06:24:53 PM
I can only foresee a sustained EPL dominance from Manchester City. They won it this season, and i would still pick them to win it next season, the era is theirs, and even if people are quick to mention Liverpool alongside them cause of how much they push City, but they have won it just once, while City have 4 in just 5 years, goes to show they are pretty much better than Liverpool in the EPL.

City have also signed Haaland and Alvarez, two great additions to the team, which in my opinion puts them as favorites for the title again next season. I see City dominating the EPL like United did many years ago, they could get to 10 epl titles (6 now) within the next 7 seasons or so. What a time it is to be a supporter of Manchester City.
2545  Economy / Reputation / Re: Any Rules for Bounty Manager? on: May 26, 2022, 06:06:18 PM
I sincerely think the same measure of strictness adopted that have brought sanity we experience in BTC paying campaigns should be applied on the bounty section. If DT members continue to overlook the bounty section and allow bounty managers have their way, it will gradually spoil the reputation of this forum with time.
I think the problem is that there is a huge difference between bounty campaigns and BTC signature campaigns, the former is more often than not run by newbies or users who are far from being reputable (and really have nothing to lose), so even if they do not act in the right manner, handing them negative feedbacks would not change anything, they would still handle many other campaigns even with the negative feedbacks in their profile. But the latter is much more organized, with reputable users running almost 99% of it, and companies are always eager to give the job to the best possible manager.

Having said that, actually the BM in question here (the one OP is calling out) is one of the altcoin bounty managers with a somewhat good reputation, if you take a look at his trust profile you will understand why i say so, and he has also been managing campaigns for quite a while now on the forum, the more reason why i do not know why this particular campaign under his watch ended this way. Prolly OP should PM him about this thread so we hear his own side to it all.
2546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 26, 2022, 03:08:20 PM
United fans are chanting since the arrival of their new appointed manager, Erik Ten Hag. As a new boss, achievements are highly expected of him. New boss, change of game plans and new players he would sign into the club, he is this type of coach that like using young lads, and united have young players which are eager to express themselves on the pitch. United are trophyless this season but next season, they might win and lift trophies.
I am not too confident of United winning trophies next season, i could be completely wrong though. Expectations are pretty high at the moment, their new manager looks to have restored some confidence into the United fan base, but we actually have to wait for next season to start, so we could watch how things pan out. Having said that, what happens next season depends a whole lot on how United handle most of their business, i am pretty sure the manager must have made his intentions known to the club regarding players he wants/doesn't want in the team, Manchester United in their best interest should allow the new manager make his decisions independently, that way a real rebuilding phase could then be underway. As for trophies, i am pretty sure United aren't going to win any major one next season, City and Liverpool are still heads and shoulders above the rest.
2547  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why not tag all bounty hunters? on: May 25, 2022, 05:28:32 PM
If you propose to tag every newbie bounty hunter with "bounty abuse"...
OP is actually in hindsight proposing the opposite, which is to ignore them, as long as they stay in their bounty section, as tagging them somewhat reduces the 'value' of the trust system.
what do you propose to do if these newbies start to gain merit? Will you remove bounty abuse tag then?
I don't completely understand, but very hardly do any of these Bounty hunters ever stop spamming and start posting enough quality stuffs to earn them a good number of merits. But i am pretty sure users who tag bounty hunters would not mind revisiting their trust page to change it to neutral if such user changes and becomes very positive to the forum in the long run.
Bounty managers wont accept participants with negative tag, but would gladly accept a participant, that gained several merits and is a Jr. Member with clear reputation now.
Quite a lot of these Bounty managers do not even care about negative feedbacks, good reputation or even merits. Many of these projects are run by newbies with no merit or any history of being helpful to the forum, so they do not care.
Wont it trigger posting spam, as newbies will try to get this one merit? Followed by merit trade?
It doesn't or wouldn't change anything like i have said. By the way, they are already posting spam, and even if they want to trade merits or whatever they would struggle to rank up above Jr Member, or Member, tops. The thing is they stick to the bounty section, and it is all good.
2548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: investing is in crypto do not be deceived by hype or publicity on: May 25, 2022, 03:39:52 PM
Quite often the technical aspects of a project are difficult for people to fully understand, especially for the non-tech person, but the truth is, you really do not have to know too much about the technicalities of the network, there are must know basics that would be easy for you to wrap your head around and grasp it, and sometimes what you really should be looking out for is if the project has an actual utility, Bitcoin does have for example, so from there you can take things up, and learn how to safely hodl your coins, you would also learn certain rules of thumbs, like you should not invest more than you can afford to lose, keep your private keys to yourself alone, etc. Having said that, if you do your research and find out a project does not have any utility whatsoever, it is safe to say that should be the end of your interest in that project, except you are prolly a pump and dump investor.

Neymar can leave PSG, is he a great player but he is so injury-prone...

I don't think anyone will consider him, especially with his salary.
Fantastic player with great skills and composure, for me though he isn't one to carry the team and lead them to major trophies, PSG would prolly be happy if they get a team that would offer them good money for him, but i sincerely doubt that, his fee and wages would just be too much to handle, i think he can only move if he is willing to take a wage cut or something like that. To be honest, i am pretty sure Neymar would be playing for the Paris club next season. His next move could either be to Brazil or somewhere else to wind up his career.
2550  Economy / Reputation / Re: Any Rules for Bounty Manager? on: May 25, 2022, 10:32:10 AM
Those bounty hunters did six weeks of "work" before Murat stopped the bounty without paying anyone?  Is that the gist of this complaint?
Yeah, that is what i make out of it from what OP had to say, and from what other users who seemingly participated in the bounty had to say as well in this thread, the campaign went on seemingly without any issues for six weeks, before this somewhat 'usual' end.
so you'd think he'd be aware of which bounty managers are crap and which are reputable--especially since that's about all OP does on bitcointalk.
If you take a good look at the BM's trust page, it really doesn't look bad at all and he can be said to be one of the reputable managers who handle mostly altcoin bounties (though i think there have been a couple of issues raised previously), but it is still unlike the usual newbies with zero merit and negative feedbacks that run some altcoin bounties. This manager in question looks all good, at least going by his trust page.
Ultimately I have no sympathy for bounty hunters getting scammed, because all they do is basically spam for money.
Neither do i, but just for that small percentage that do a honest 'work' at least, it is still necessary to ask why the campaign wasn't stopped after the first week or so (like i said in my earlier post), but after 6 long weeks.
2551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 24, 2022, 10:11:56 PM
I really wonder how Man United's performance will be in the next season, moreover in the Europe League.
They could prolly play a whole lot better, i mean, there is already so much hype around their new manager, and from what he has done in his previous teams, he doesn't have a bad CV actually, so i am expecting to see more determination and drive from his players next season, the problem now rests in signing the players he so chooses, remember United do not play CL football next season, so it is going to be somewhat difficult to allure players of utmost quality to the club, except they would want to come cause of the money they will be offered. Having said that, i don't think United would be strong contenders for the EPL next season, the manager's task would be to bring balance to the team i am sure, and to keep them firmly within the top four.
2552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 24, 2022, 09:34:06 PM
-I believe the 55 million price tag certainly is a lot for Arsenal and especially after Spurs also trying to join in, things have just become worse for Arsenal to get this player
City are doing great business, signing Haaland for £51 million, and valuing Gabriel Jesus at £55 million pounds, i know there are additional clauses to Haaland's contract, but i still consider it all to be an absolute bargain, remember they also did good business in the last transfer window, selling Ferran Torres to Barcelona for a good sum after they brought in Jack Grealish for £100 million pounds. I like how professional City have been with their transfer business over the past 12 months or so, balancing it all up, getting the right players and avoiding FFP issues.

Having said that, it is up to Arsenal, they have to spend some money if they want to compete next season, they can't hope that Gabriel Jesus' contract expires in 12 months so they get him for free, what if another team gets him before then, it is clear the lad wants to leave already. Arteta has to put pressure on the Arsenal board to get him the players he so desires, or else next season ain't going to be any different from the just concluded one.
2553  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 24, 2022, 08:43:32 PM
we hope that our board go come soon.
I am pretty sure we all hope so too, but while we are at that, what we can do is just to keep this local thread as active as possible with enough quality posts, and sooner rather than later we will prolly get out local board.
I am sure if I get issues or questions I go get the answer ASAP here.
Yes of course, there are quite a lot of knowledgeable Nigerian users in the forum, who are also active on this thread and very eager and willing to assist and help in anyway they possibly can, so any issues or questions is fine here.
2554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether (USDT) - Backed by Air and Words on: May 24, 2022, 08:31:14 PM
USDT will become the biggest scam in crypto history, bigger than XRP by 5-fold. The day of reckoning will arrive soon enough. Maybe a few more years before this speculative prophecy comes to fruition.
That would prolly happen somewhere along the line, but you can be sure that many users hardly worry about stuffs such as their security, true decentralization, etc, until they become victims to such, it is what it is. USDT is centralized, that denotes that absolutely anything is possible, especially for users who have decided to hold it for the long term, decisions can be taken at any time by companies that run this projects, i am talking decisions that wouldn't be in your favor, your funds can also be frozen, etc, it is a no for me to hold USDT, but of course users are absolutely free to make up their own mind on what they want to do, and of course, the consequences remains theirs to take/bear.
2555  Economy / Reputation / Re: Any Rules for Bounty Manager? on: May 24, 2022, 07:34:58 PM
The thing is this, all of these isn't really moderated by the forum, and even if we are to agree that that it is an an offense worthy of negative feedbacks, it still wouldn't bring back the time and efforts the bounty hunters have already wasted whilst promoting the project for the number of weeks it went on.

Having said that, while the BM reserves the right to do X and Y in a campaign, i don't think ending a campaign without pay after 6 long weeks is quite a nice thing to do, yes i know people should look away from bounties, i also know they should not join bounty campaigns if they do not like the manager, etc, but it still doesn't make it right when BM don't act nice to their bounty participants after long weeks together. If the issues raised now by the BM came up in the first or second week of the campaign resulting in its closure then, i doubt the participants will have too much of a problem with that, but what increases their agony is the 6 long weeks they worked with and for this project, and on the basis of that, i consider their complaints somewhat valid.
2556  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why not tag all bounty hunters? on: May 24, 2022, 07:14:37 PM
If tagging them doesn't work, if the forum doesn't ban their low-quality posts, and if they don't bring anything good at all, can't we just ignore them completely? Don't mention them in Reputation (sorry, I'm guilty too), don't mention them in Scam Accusations, don't look for "alts" as long as they have nothing to lose, don't tag them, but just ignore them completely?
The thing is, no matter the method one user thinks is right in handling the issue, it can't be applied by every single user, if we say 'completely ignore', trust me someone is definitely bringing a new case up in the reputation board sooner than later, it is what it is, and it would be nearly impossible for a general consensus to be reached on the matter. The only thing to do is for users to choose that which they consider most helpful for the forum, for users who feel it is best to ignore, then fine, for those who think tagging is the best option, then they can go ahead and do so, but mind you that tagging them indiscriminately would even be an incorrect use of the trust system, and in the long run could be counter-productive.
2557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a safe haven??? on: May 23, 2022, 08:10:32 PM
Bitcoin to me is a big safe heaven that had saved the lives of investors who has invested in it when the price was still little.
Remember that people have also lost funds with it, but many of them are short term/get rich quick investors, Bitcoin is a long term project, and speculators who speculate with the price are to expect returns in the long run, but in the short term there can be quite a lot of drop/plunge/correction, call it whatever, but it could lose a lot in the short period to volatility, it does not hold its value for a long period of time, that is why it is not a safe haven asset, or a sort of store of value like Gold is.
If I'm given a situation to store all of my money into crypto except stable coins, I would preferrably put it all into bitcoin since it survives many bear market among all the tokens.
Bitcoin would prolly be the best to do such with, but please never consider that option, lol, that would be investing more than you can afford to lose.
2558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 23, 2022, 06:10:34 PM
FC Bayern extends Manuel Neuer's contract until 6.2024. This means he would be for 13 years in a row for FCB. He is 36 years old and possibly his last extension as goalkeeper. And he remains captain of the team. Manuel Neuer is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and was World Champion with Germany in 2014. He has won so many titles, 10 German Championships and 2x the Champions League. But at 36, his reflexes are slowing down and he will have to be replaced in the next years.
Neuer has won absolutely everything, and it now seems more like he is going to retire at the club, they are absolutely going to struggle to replace him when he actually leaves, but i am pretty sure Bayern are already lining up his long term replacement. It is always good when a club has one standout keeper that would produce brilliant performaces every season and stick with the club for many years like Neuer has done with the German Champions, it is great cause the club would have one less position to worry about for many years, goodluck to Bayern and Neuer going forward.
2559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 23, 2022, 05:09:49 PM
The recent matches for Man U and West Ham have been disappointing...
Manchester United have been more disappointing, as a matter of fact they have disappointed their fans all through out the season, down to the last day, when you take a look at their budget and the quality of players they have, they really shouldn't be competing with a team like West Ham for a Europa League spot, it is embarrassing.
Man U were very lucky that West Ham failed to beat Brighton
I was actually surprised by that result, West Ham had the chance to qualify for the Europa League again, but they chose to turn off on a very important day for them, after having such a fantastic season, too bad to say the least.
2560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 23, 2022, 04:46:54 PM
But I think there might be a little disappointment with Liverpool if Liverpool fails to win the Champions League Trophy.
Losing out on the EPL title to City puts a bit of pressure on Liverpool to be honest, yes i know they have won two trophies this season, but let us be honest, they are both domestic cups, the major trophies are the EPL and the CL, City took the former from them, and they have to battle Madrid for the latter in a few days time, if they lose, they are definitely going to be disappointed, it does not imply they had a bad season, not at all, what it just means is that their performances deserved much better.

Having said that, a big congratulations to City, what a way to win the league, i thought it was going to be a pretty straightforward victory, but i was wrong, i think City like to win in dramatic fashion, and they did the same again yesterday, just as they did some ten years ago; over to next season, with Haaland now in the team, things can only get much better.
