1541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 17, 2023, 12:28:18 PM
and it doesn't look like it's going to be hard for Man City to beat Notthingham in tomorrow's game and after that Man City will get another additional point to leave Arsenal in second place.
But if Arsenal also pick up 3 points, the both teams would be on 54 points respectively, but yes, it is a must win game for the both teams, it is very important for Arsenal to win after failing to win any of their last 3 EPL games: lost to Everton, drew against Brentford and were beaten by Manchester City, now they have to win this game and maybe get back to winning ways.

Having said that, the game is also important for City if they want to enter a long run of consecutive victories as they have done in recent seasons that they ended up champions, they beat Villa a week ago, and then beat Arsenal, next is Nottingham Forest, and after that Bournemouth, then Newcastle, etc, City have to start winning games consecutively if they want to be champions again.
1542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 17, 2023, 09:33:41 AM
I don't think Arsenal is still on the race, because soon Manchester united might come from behind to over take them.
You guys need to cut Arsenal some slack, they have been the best team in the EPL thus far, and can be said to be joint top with City (though City are top on goal difference), plus Arsenal have a game in hand, yet people somehow seem to think that they aren't in the race, of course they are. Losing to City isn't the end of the world for them, mind you that they were the better team on that day, they just couldn't make good use of their opportunities and dominance.

Having said that, Arteta has his work cut out for him, he basically has to keep his players focused and motivated, because City look like they are about to enter a run of consecutive victories, and whenever City are in such mood, they are unstoppable, thus Arsenal have to be ready, and ensure they do not drop points to the smaller teams, starting with Aston Villa tomorrow.
1543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 17, 2023, 08:57:01 AM
Both teams are struggling but Liverpool is not even close to the level they were before and clearly Real Madrid is the favorite in this duel. For Klopp this is the tournament that can save the season after such a terrible one and i think there wont be much goals between these two teams.
Tbh i wouldn't say Real Madrid are struggling all that much, yes they have fallen a little bit below Barcelona, but they are still very much in contention to win the league title in Spain, the advantage Barcelona has over them is very much recoverable, and thus i think they can bounce back. But in Liverpool's situation, there is no chance of them winning the EPL or even qualifying for the CL through finishing in one of the top four positions, thus they must win the CL this season if they want to play in the CL next season.

Having said that, Liverpool have a very slim chance of winning the CL, i don't even think they would get past Real Madrid in the RO16, with the way Liverpool are playing, it looks like it is going to be pretty easy for Real Madrid to pick them apart; but the good news for Klopp is that some of his injured players are returning back to fitness, thus they might give them a boost and actually give Ancelotti's boys a good run for their money.
1544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 16, 2023, 03:37:46 PM
About Chelsea, I think it was an unexpected defeat. I know they haven't been really good this season, especially in the Premier League. But after all they expected to do better in the Champions League, but in the end Chelsea also had to lose to Dortmund. But anyway, I think there is still a chance to win tickets to the quarter-finals if Chelsea win on aggregate in the second leg later. Currently, two Bundesliga teams have only won 1 goal over their opponents, Bayern Munich and Dortmund. So it will definitely be very exciting to look forward to the second leg.
The second leg fixtures between Bayern Munich v PSG and Chelsea v Dortmund is going to be pretty interesting and i am also looking forward to these games myself. I wasn't at all surprised by Chelsea's loss, they just can't win football matches at the moment, notwithstanding how much they have spent on players in the last couple of months, i think Dortmund are going to go through in the end, they look much better than Chelsea; and there is more togetherness in their team than in Chelsea's. Graham Potter's job has to depend on if Chelsea go through or not, because i cannot understand how Todd Boehly would buy players left, right and center and Chelsea would still be eliminated in the RO16 of the champions league, it has to be unacceptable by the board.
1545  Economy / Economics / Re: A crypto hub: an answer to Busan aging population dilemma? on: February 16, 2023, 02:48:38 PM
Many governments are still hesitant to totally in the crypto industry, maybe because many cases of fraud and the latest FTX and Luna who made the founders of FTX and Luna go to prison, maybe it took a few more years to be able to see which city or country the most serious to become a crypto hub.
The discussion here isn't about which country/city wants or doesn't want to be a crypto hub, and it also has nothing to do with crypto fraud or cases of loss of funds through crypto. Busan just like many other cities around the world are faced with a problem of aging population, and there is a proposition coming out that they want to develop their city into a crypto hub to attract the young populace and combat/curb the problem of aging populace (which i think can only be a temporary solution).

Having said that, it would be great if more users read the op of threads attentively so their contributions can be on point and the discussion would be wholesome. Well you can now tell us what you think about Busans proposal? Grin
1546  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2023, Bullish or Bearish? on: February 16, 2023, 12:45:53 PM
Bitcoin is starting to show some bullish signs, having suddenly surged today and almost reaching the $25k mark. This is great news for the market, as it may convince the doubters to come back.
I don't think small price movements like this causes FOMO and makes people to rush in to buy Bitcoin, no, imo it doesn't. People start to FOMO and rush to buy Bitcoin when the bull run starts in earnest and the price is absolutely racing, that is when they think about the profits/ROI they can make/accrue if the upward trend continues, and they start to buy out of FOMO; but you see fairly stable price movements like this, it is only those who well and truly understand how Bitcoin works that would take advantage of it.
Good times are ahead, so brace yourselves, guys. This may be the moment we've all been waiting for.
If the moment is an upward trend until the next ATH, then i would say we are pretty far from that moment at this time as the halving would have to happen before that.
1547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 16, 2023, 11:31:39 AM
Manchester City are back on the top of the EPL on goal difference, though Arsenal have a game in hand, Arsenal shouldn't lose their focus, the league has been thrown wide open but their destiny is still in their own hands, and if they can get a couple wins after these disappointing results of losing to Everton, drawing to Brentford, and losing to City (thus out of a possible 9 points they have picked up only 1 point), then they can get right back on track.

Having said that, i think the league is now more of a three horse race between Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United, they are all pretty close to each other in terms of points accrued, whilst City and the Gunners both have 51 points each, United are just 5 points behind, thus everything is still very open and nobody knows who'll win the league at this stage.
1548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 16, 2023, 10:05:56 AM
There's no way Chelsea are getting back to scoring goals without a proper striker playing up front.
Kai Havertz is just too poor in that role.
Well i was pretty surprised that they invested the amount of money they did in this January transfer window without actually buying an orthodox striker, i really can't understand why they were buying the players they did buy without solving one of their most pressing problem, it just doesn't make sense; Todd Boehly just went on a buying spree without considering what's best for the club.

Having said that, Dortmund have a real advantage heading into the second leg, and with how poor Chelsea are playing i don't think they have any chance of coming back into this game. I would reiterate that i don't think Graham Potter can lead Chelsea to trophies, sooner or later he is going to be fired, the club can't spend the amount of money they are doing and continually fail to win football matches, it is totally unacceptable.
1549  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: CBN DON SET ANOTHER DEADLINE FOR THE DEPOSIT OF OLD NOTE on: February 15, 2023, 05:18:35 PM
I don already see this news yesterday, the thing just they add to the confusion wey Naija people they face so because we no know whether the supreme court go overturn wetin CBN don already talk, the supreme court don already tell CBN say make them halt their decision to make 200, 500 and 1000 naira old notes illegal tender, but the CBN they disobey that order as them still stand by their earlier decision.

Having said that, na over 10 states so they charge CBN and the federal government to court over the hardship wey this policy they cause, the last time them go court, them adjourn am till today, as them reconvene today, them don adjourn am again till Feb 22, but even as them they adjourn am so, Supreme court don talk say make CBN pause the matter until a verdict is reached, so tell me how country go they disobey their apex court, Naija matter tire me so. As we they talk better riot they happen for Delta state and people they die, wetin e go cost the government of Nigeria to do the right thing for once.

1551  Economy / Economics / Re: A crypto hub: an answer to Busan aging population dilemma? on: February 15, 2023, 11:33:42 AM
You can watch the documentary on this link, and the Vice Major of Busan also participates in it (note that the video is from 3 years ago).
Thank you for sharing this documentary, i watched it and it was interesting and educative to say the least. Crypto is quite popular in South Korea (and is affecting the dominance of Chaebols), that is prolly why Busan are looking to crypto to solve their problem of aging population, i believe it could work because young South Koreans are interested in finding a way to a better life through crypto, thus they might consider moving to Busan if it presents them the opportunity to join or start crypto startups in order to achieve financial freedom. Though i don't think this would provide a long term solution if they rely on just this.

A bit off topic, it was also interesting to find out through the documentary that the average Korean has a global/international and a Korean age, this made me do a little research and i found out that for the Korean age they add the time spent in the womb as a year once born, and they add one year to their age every new year, and not on their birthdays as normal.
1552  Economy / Economics / Re: To cut financial ties with original family benefits you in the long run on: February 15, 2023, 09:51:08 AM
Even the prodigal son had to return to his father when he could no longer survive on his own, he would have prolly died if he didn't return, and i think we can all agree that ones parent would prefer their children return to them for help that to run into trouble, or to steal to survive or die whilst trying to make ends meet all on their own.

Having said that, there is a difference between completely depending on ones parent for survival and requesting for financial aid so you could stand on your own feet, whilst the former is bad because you would turn out to be dependent and lazy, i don't see anything wrong with the latter, if your parents are capable of 'bailing' you out, then by every means you should allow them do so, rather than you doing something evil to survive or pay off debts.
1553  Other / Off-topic / Re: Crypto makes you more attractive, according to a new survey on: February 15, 2023, 09:06:37 AM
Crypto knowledge is still burgeoning in my country, and the knowledge of crypto is prevalent amongst the male folks than the opposite sex, thus whilst the male folks have an understanding of Bitcoin and other whatnots, the females do not so much, thus the only inkling they have about it is "scam", because they have seen some high profile cases of crypto losses, thus they definitely wouldn't want their partner to be involved in it.

Having said that, i have friends who hide their crypto activities from their wives and GF's because they would never approve of it, and despite how you would try to educate them on it, only "scam" comes to their mind. Crypto doesn't make one attractive in my own country, rather i'd say individuals who do 9-5 jobs are seen as being more attractive, they might not be making adequate funds, but people view that group as being more financially responsible than someone who is into cryptocurrencies.
1554  Economy / Economics / Re: Can one achieve financial independence through crypto currency? on: February 15, 2023, 08:46:32 AM
in theory cryptocurrencies can provide financial freedom to users,, because the Defi system has provided long-term rewards to stakers ..
You cannot achieve financial freedom by locking your crypto up because you want to earn interest through doing that, by merely locking your funds up that way you aren't in control of the funds anymore, you can either be scammed easily or the platform in which you've staked your coins could fold up and that would signal the end of your money.
Quote
however, in practice this is difficult to happen because many Defi projects are scams and don't pay their stakers, and Defi projects that still pay their users no longer provide the high rewards they promised at the start
That is exactly why you should stay away from them. If you want to earn long term ROI on crypto, you should buy Bitcoin through DCA and hold it for a couple of years, that way you'd be in control of your coins as well as the ROI accrued.
1555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 14, 2023, 10:42:29 AM
The same can be said for Tottenham but lately in their last game they were losing it with a tennis result from one of the weaker teams this season there and I read this as a potential red flag for the game of tonight.
That was why i said the game is evenly matched, both AC Milan and Spurs can't win their respective Leagues, what they are currently playing for is basically to qualify for the CL next season. Anyway it is always good to get a good result right before a big CL game, but Spurs lost to Leicester City 4-1, whilst Ac Milan beat Torino 1-0, thus AC Milan are prolly the team going into this game with much better confidence.
1556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 14, 2023, 07:21:45 AM
I don't know if Milan can beat Spurs tonight... Milan are in a tough crisis and are losing to almost everyone in Serie A... Although Spurs are not playing very stable either, I think they can win tonight... I'll risk to bet on them with odds of 3.1...
The both teams are as evenly matched as it gets, both in quality of players and in their recent performances, neither Spurs nor Ac Milan are doing quite well in their respective leagues, Tottenham are 5th in the EPL standings, whilst Ac Milan are likewise 5th in the Seria A standings. The game is difficult to call/predict, i would rather just watch the game than stake anything on it, i think the most probable result in this first leg tie might be a draw, or since Ac Milan are at home they might manage to squeeze in a slender victory, we'll see how things pan out tonight.
1557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 13, 2023, 10:24:40 PM
This is not the best time real madrid is supposed to have a player like Salah because he is advanced already and it will definitely affect performance. Younger player like Osimhen that is performance is very active. Salah is not very strong in his performance like used to be some years ago.
Why would anyone even think that Real Madrid are going to make a move for Mo Salah, not only because of the age of the Egyptian, but because Real Madrid would be solely interested in an orthodox striker in the summer, and Salah isn't that, as his strongest position is playing from any of the two wings. I don't even think Liverpool would want to sell a senior player like Salah in the summer, they are still suffering from the decline caused by their sale of Sadio Mane last summer, thus they wouldn't want to make the same mistake twice.

Having said that, Real might be more interested in Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker is currently one of the best strikers in the world, and he is definitely going to allure interests from clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid in the summer, the thing is just that he is going to cost quite a lot of money, and if he would be willing to move because he has found a home in Napoli.
1558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 13, 2023, 09:30:10 PM
Mbappe and Mane won't be on the field tomorrow as far as I know. Both teams will be on the field without one of their most important players. Mane's absence is a great loss for Bayern, as well as a great loss for Psg in Mbappe.  In fact, the situations are equal. Paris SG's roster looks better. They are in a better position than Bayern Munich.
Well last week rumors had it that Mbappe would be out for a couple of weeks, thus meaning he was going to miss the first leg of their crunch encounter with Bayern Munich, but it seems that Mbappe has recovered sooner than expected as he trained with the first team squad yesterday and today, thus he could be in contention to start tomorrow. There was also a minor injury scare for Lionel Messi, but he was seen in training today, so he could be fit for the game tomorrow. Whilst in Mane's case, it is certain that he is out of the game, so as things stand it looks like it is advantage Bayern Munich.
1559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 13, 2023, 09:13:38 PM
I can't really figure the real problem of Liverpool,  because the  club has good players and the same Liverpool coach did well for his team in Last season.  Things just changed for Liverpool this season,  their performance is very poor  and no effort of getting better this season, I never expected it this way.
Well i don't think anyone expected Liverpool to decline in this way and in this time, i guess it is what it is, but with how they've done their transfer business in the last couple of years, they were definitely going to decline sooner rather than later, and it happened this season. They let Mane go for very cheap, and their replacement in Nunez isn't really convincing, the club also has an aging midfield, that's why they have identified Jude Bellingham as their top target for the summer.

Having said that, they are currently leading in the derby, thanks to goals from Mo Salah and their new boy Gakpo, thus they are definitely going to win this game and it could kick start their season and they can start winning games more frequently from now going forward.

After the PDP presidential primary election wey Atiku win Wike and other candidates, Wike begin para, e they talk say na him they carry PDP for head even when other elder statesmen like Atiku run comot from Naija after the last election, only to return now wey another election don they close, Wike also believe say PDP candidacy suppose come from the south and not the north, so na all these things they vex Wike for where PDP they.

Having said that, Wike they use him head wella for this election, him know say as PDP member wey him be so, him no go fit declare support for a candidate of another party, so him just lockup they run him matter underground, him also no campaign for Atiku, him just sit down for fence they use tactics take sabotage Atiku's bid to be president. From my analysis i no they give Atiku any chance to win this election, the two strong candidates na Peter Obi and Tinubu, and na one of them go win the election, PDP na jonzing party.
