2541  Other / Meta / Re: proof bitcointalk will do anything for bfl scammers on: October 30, 2013, 03:59:48 AM
Anyway I'm not sure how we could regulate adverts if we wanted too. BFL is a scam to some, but awesome for others. Some people I know for a fact made shit loads of money by investing in BFL early.

Sure, people who invested in BFL FPGA's profited years ago. It cannot be argued that the BFL we've seen since their ASIC rollout is a different, more malicious company than when they were manufacturing FPGA's. It just so happens that this is about the time a certain new COO took the helm.

The point is, yes, you can regulate adverts very easily; Ignore bids from people who have low trust, or have incensed the community enough to the level out outrage we see with BFL. Personally, if I was running a forum, and some belligerent troll such as our favorite COO wanted to throw money at me to advertise, while simultaneously shitting all over the community he wants to advertise on, I would turn him away, rudely, on principle. I would be embarrassed to allow them to advertise in my community.

It's called "Having a moral compass", and Theymos' is clearly broken beyond repair.
2542  Other / Meta / Re: proof bitcointalk will do anything for bfl scammers on: October 30, 2013, 03:31:49 AM
Anyway free market and free speech. I honestly don't care what adverts are placed as long as they pay the market rate.

This is why this community is such a brutal dichotomy. On one hand, you have people with a sense of decency, morality, and ethics facing-off against fraudsters, criminals, and dishonest actors.

Meanwhile, the unscrupulous landlord is profiteering all the way to the bank while his tenants get fleeced and burned.

Shameful place Thermos has let this place become.

Don't think I've ever "virtually met" a person running forums displaying such utter disregard and lack of integrity.

 It's disgusting.

But he does make bank eh? Would you pass it up? $300,000 a year? Be honest man...

Not everyone is a mercenary, Goat.
2544  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Did BFL mine with my unit for 3 weeks before shipping it to me? on: October 29, 2013, 10:30:16 PM
I am quite interested to see what happens after that personal information was made public. That's a real no go displaying private emails to the public.

Who is going to hold him to account or punish him ? Certainly not the forum owners and moderators here. Think Jody or Sonny are going to say anything that he violated their privacy policy to attempt intimidation of a critic and former customer ?

It's should be criminal what Butterfly Labs and Josh are getting away with.

Hell, I bet Theymos and the mods are pointing-and-laughing at all this.

EDIT: Heck, it's arguable Theymos is aiding and abetting at this point.

Congrats to Bitpay for the commission.

Condolences to the purchaser.

2549  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: October 28, 2013, 11:57:42 PM
I got an email saying I have a package in transit.  I think its for my K16s but it came from an unknown email address.  And since I only know the steamboat handle, not sure if the real name used is the same person or not.  I am assuming its from steamboat.  I was originally in group 5 and emailed steamboat yesterday stating to ship the units as is.  So quick response if the email was from him.

Do a Google search on "Real-Name-of-sender Steamboat" and you'll see it's the same person.

I was initially confused myself until I did some sleuthing and put two and two together.
2550  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: October 28, 2013, 10:49:23 PM
Yay ! Just got shipping notification that my K16's are en route. Thanks Steamboat ! Hang in there dude !
2551  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Butterfly Labs CEO 25 Million USD Mail Fraud — A Concise Summary of Evidence on: October 28, 2013, 09:32:13 PM
Add breaking their own privacy policy, then lying about it, trying to intimidate outspoken former-customers and critics by releasing their private information without permission, to their growing list of transgressions.

Despicable.
2552  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to file a FTC complaint against BFL's illegal business practices on: October 28, 2013, 06:27:50 PM
The heat is on, Josh baby Kiss

It certainly makes you lose faith in our legal system, the AG's office, the FTC, and the owners and moderators of these very forums that they continue to allow a business with such morally and ethically-reprehensible business tactics; allow polarizing, smug, and antagonistic figure heads to be allowed to profit in the way they do at our collective expense.

The heat has been on Butterfly Labs for some time, and all their monetary contributions have bought them asbestos suits and immunity from sanction.

While it's unlikely that anything will come from your FTC or Attorney General complaints, it does help to establish a pattern of malfeasance on the part of Butterfly Labs, on the odd chance consumer protection agencies actually make an effort to do their jobs and hold them to account. Maybe one of your complaints will finally be the one that breaks the camels proverbial back, and finally gets Federal wheels turning at opening BFL's books and prosecuting them to the furthest extent the law allows.

Theymos deserves just as much contempt lobbed at him for effectively sticking his head in the sand, while holding out his hands and taking advertising dollars while the world burns around him and laughing all the way to the bank.

2553  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos: Please stop taking advertising money from this person. on: October 28, 2013, 03:32:28 PM
You're wasting your breath.

Theymos will not figuratively kill any of his substantial cash-cows.

That would require morals and scruples.
2554  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Did BFL mine with my unit for 3 weeks before shipping it to me? on: October 27, 2013, 10:58:30 PM
Yeah, if I posted the kind of crap you do, I'd want to remain anonymous, too!

 Ok, so lets recap again;

1 ) You abuse this community in a well documented fashion
2 ) I call you on it. In a most incendiary fashion after having been led on for months of broken promises at being an early adopter of your products.
3 ) You get upset and fire me as a customer. Force a refund on my orders.
4 ) I continue calling you on your poor behavior on these forums
5 ) You have since moved to deny refunds in violation of Federal Trade Comission rules.
6 ) Paypal has fired you.
7 ) Continue missing your shipping estimates.
8 ) You try to silence me, again, through intimidation, for continuing to shine the light on your unwavering contempt of this community and your own customers

And you have the audacity to sling an accusation of raving lunatic because I'm exposing you and holding you to account and making sure this community is aware of your history ?  I need to most strenuously disagree with your personality assessment knowing full well the abuse you have doled out to your customers over the last year. If you repeatedly treat people badly, they are going to defend themselves and lash out eventually.

You cause people to lose significant amounts of money, you can bet they will inform the larger community of the anecdotes and experiences they have had with your enterprise, on basic principle.

You have only made yourself and Butterfly Labs look worse with this latest stunt of yours. I fear you lack the self-awareness to recognize this Sad

Finally, thank you for admitting that you broke your own privacy policy.

2555  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CEX.io is redeeming GH/s for Hoverboard I/II and BitBox I Hardware on: October 27, 2013, 10:39:15 PM
Yours calculation are good. 72$/month/100GH thats will be cost of hosting/maintenance/electricity at cex.io if they decide to keep that price 0.001
Or 0.33BTC @216$/BTC

Thanks for running these numbers. So it seems like it's not worth it afterall dealing with buying GHS then, huh ?
2556  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Did BFL mine with my unit for 3 weeks before shipping it to me? on: October 27, 2013, 10:36:02 PM
Please provide proof of how your information is publicly available.
Sure thing, hotpants:

I'm really not sure it's possible for you to stoop any lower, or become even more reviled in this community by posting extrapolations like that. I would expect no less from you. Bravo.

I suppose it's really easy to make those connections in reverse when you have my billing info from being a prior customer, huh ?

Shameful behavior from a company figurehead, to be sure.

2557  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Did BFL mine with my unit for 3 weeks before shipping it to me? on: October 27, 2013, 10:24:12 PM
WTF Inaba Huh  Why are you giving out personal information Huh  IE:useing a persons REAL name Huh
Very mature dude  Roll Eyes
His name is already public knowledge, I didn't reveal anything he hasn't already revealed himself.  Try to keep up, man.  I know it's hard, what with the reading and all, but try to read above a 2nd grade level.

Please provide proof of how the information you are posting is publicly available.

I suspect you are mistaken. Again.

Classy.

Guess they don't even adhere to their own privacy policies now.
2559  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CEX.io is redeeming GH/s for Hoverboard I/II and BitBox I Hardware on: October 27, 2013, 05:47:42 PM
there is a hosting fee and a management fee ,also there is a limit for the owner to expand without selling hardware

It is very possible I overlooked something and was not able to find the hard numbers for hosting fees. Could you kindly point me in the right direction ?
2560  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CEX.io is redeeming GH/s for Hoverboard I/II and BitBox I Hardware on: October 27, 2013, 05:34:03 PM
Saw that link the other day. Very interesting. However, it seems to make more sense to just have them host all the purchased GHS themselves. I can't think of any reason I would want to redeem GHS for physical hardware if I'm getting the hash-power either way.
