1542  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 6 x ASICMiner Cubes (BE100 30GH/s) - USA Only on: October 23, 2014, 06:46:13 AM
I have no idea what these are worth. Ideally, would like to sell them as a bundle.

6 ASICMiner Cubes. All hashing to spec. Very good condition.

 I'll accept any reasonable offers.

I imagine shipping costs are worth more than the units :|

What I am against, however, is their use on developing minds.
If you are a teenager, your brain is still developing, and such use will retard you in the future.
We have a user on here, dank, that admitted taking lots of drugs when he was young.  His mind is shot beyond repair.
Do not use drugs or alcohol unless your body and mind is fully mature.  You have a lot of years ahead of you that you will need your mind.
Very VERY sage advice.

This is not up for debate: Using marijuana during your developmental years or abusing alcohol during those same years WILL CAUSE PERMANENT HARM.

Here's the thing I've learned through dealing with Butterfly Labs: when you try to smear someone that hasn't done anything wrong and has a good name, it's going to backfire spectacularly on you.

... Again, what is it with people named Josh involved with Bitcoin mining companies, that could use a good therapist to unfuck their diseased minds ?

Butterfly Labs 2011: "I would suggest all of you who don't have a pre-existing relationship with the company refrain from making any pre-orders.  We appreciate the interest in our product, but the hostility isn't worth it. Please just wait for off the shelf units to be available."

I love the Bitmain product but the poor execution is KILLING them . Bitmain PLEASE give us a update ...
Sad and sympathetic bump Sad

<soapbox>
Lets hope they've learned lessons from the S3 and S4 launches and improve moving forward.

The S1's were a thing of beauty. Every subsequent release after that has been more problematic to the point that I have not purchased their latest S4 out of caution and learning from experience (The S3 launch completely destroyed whatever trust I had in Bitmain)

The U3's leave me scratching my head. For that matter, pricing on every single piece of Bitcoin mining hardware right now leaves me scratching my head due to lack of profitability.

If I were to buy a miner today, I'd buy it with fiat through Coinbase. Can't rationalize reinvesting my mined coins to buy new miners any more.

Given existing large scale mining operations, the thought of purchasing U3's to "help secure the network" is disingenuous IMO. The network is plenty secure without U3's. Better off buying an S3 instead if you're going to buy anything at all.

What really makes me even more sad, related to all this, is I've had to remove dogie off my Trust list Sad

He is hiding out in Bulgaria, stalling for time to get himself cut off from the US. He even states as much in the chats.
Waitaminit... Dude is looking to never return to US soil over this scam ? Is that correct ?
1555  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM: Black Arrow on: October 20, 2014, 03:38:19 PM
Feels like I dodged a bullet not dealing with these guys. Actually placed an order, but their customer service was so fucked up, they didn't get back to me when I was trying to resolve a payment amount issue.

Me: "Hey, sorry about that order snafu a couple days ago. With the current price of Bitcoin, what should I send you to finalize order #xxxx"
BA Support: "..."
Me: "Hullo ? Trying to pay for this order ? What is the updated amount I should pay ?"
BA Support: "Pay invoice amount"
Me: "... but price of Bitcoin has shifted enough in the last few days that it would be in both our best interests to recalculate the payment due"
BA Support: "..."
Me: "Please cancel my order on the count of not being able to resolve this payment issue"
BA Support: "Order #xxxx cancelled."
1556  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] AMT CONFIRMED AMT scammer Joshua Zipkin call to action on: October 20, 2014, 02:47:08 PM
What's the deal with people named Josh being bad actors in Bitcoin space :| ?

This Zipkin dude is certainly court-bound if what I'm reading has any basis in fact (and I have to think it does)

Not sure how he can continue to posture like this without realizing he's going to need to face the music sooner or later.

Sad.

1557  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: October 19, 2014, 07:12:38 PM
Anecdote: I noticed overnight that all my S3's failed to honor the failover settings when the primary pool went "Dead". (Running latest-and-greatest Bitmain S3+ firmware)

Woke up to all my S3's sitting cool and idle this morning. S2's were hashing away like champs running Kano's K2 firmware, honoring the failover settings.

Hitting "Save and Apply" on the miner configuration page got things working well again on the S3's switching to the next available server.
1558  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN‘s Liquid Cooled Miner C1: It is not only cool, but it is cool on: October 18, 2014, 09:25:44 PM
Anybody buying this?
TBH, given the S3 and S4 launch, I'm not touching this.

It's a crazy time in Bitcoin mining right now, and given the BTC/USD price currently, it makes more sense to purchase BTC outright than miners if you are looking for ROI.

Having a heavy hand in writing CGMiner, and being actively involved in the community tends to garner a lot of respect.
