I don't want to be the first one to make wild accusations...

Is it possible this is BFL? Apologies if it's not.

Ok, then at this point I'll try to contact them and see if they are willing to set up with BIPS.

If they are willing to do that, then I'll let you know edd and you can see what you can do there. Which would be helpful, thanks.

Goat, I don't blame you. It was just an idea that popped up since you live in Thailand and I noticed you were involved in this thread.
2544  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin 100: Developed Specifically for Non-Profits on: June 07, 2013, 12:18:03 PM
What about having someone trusted like ChaangNoi Goat(if he were willing to do it) put a bitcoin address that he controls on their site so that people can donate, and then he can convert the money to baht and send it to Santisook via bank transfer(which is really quick and easy to do in Thailand). We can ask them to put the bitcoin address right below their paypal link or something.

Reason I bring up this is that I contacted bitpay and they don't service Thailand. And BIPS looks like they take a huge spread on selling bitcoin. And obviously Goat is one of the most trustworthy people on here, so if he wanted to do it for them they could probably get a lot of donations. I also want to see if I can get people from reddit to donate. I have a feeling that people will be willing to donate once they read about what the organization does.

What do you think?

mfw this isn't enough of a hint of what they are...

I'm going to go buy some peanut butter and give it to someone that's allergic to peanuts so we can sue the peanut butter company because we didn't realize it was made from peanuts.

And what about when they are out of the package in a bowl or something?

OK, this is stupid.  Im sorry for op's brother and all, but the company is not at fault.  If the guy had a peanut allergy so bad that a few of these would kill him, he should have avoided M&M's, esp ones that weren't in a package.  As far as donating any money to "raise awareness" how much money will it take, for the guy with a life threatening allergy, to be made aware that he better not eat the thing he is allergic to.

I live in the deep south.  I cant drive 2 blocks with out passing 4 churches... and I still get people knocking on my door, early ass in the morning, to make SURE that I have heard of this Jesus fellow.

It's not the companies fault, yes. I don't think anyone would argue that. I just think that many children die from peanut allergies, and it would be the right thing to do to change the appearance of the candy. Even if it saves one life, it's worth it. Remember that these are children who are going to want to eat candy and if they make a mistake, they often pay with their life. As was the case here unfortunately.

Is this where the test is happening? Or did I go to the wrong thread again...

Don't give up.

There's nothing to fear about illegality.
2548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How could bitcoin be used to address civil rights issues with the gay community? on: June 06, 2013, 05:43:27 PM
I think it's a good idea to promote bitcoin within the gay community. But I don't think there is any way that bitcoin is going to be able to help with gay civil rights.

I think just plain ole advertising bitcoin to the lgbt community through the standard channels is what people should focus on.

Yeah, I guess there are more options than just bitpay.

The whole point of this is to have them accepting bitcoin in general, right?

It could be as simple as them having them put up an address I guess. But I don't know them, and I doubt they will want to take coins and then convert them to baht themselves.

I think it is a worthy cause. And I know that what they are trying to do is quite difficult. Hopefully I can talk to the right person there and help them to understand what bitcoin is and how it can help them get donations.

I think over time they will receive a decent amount of bitcoin if it can be known that they are accepting it. And it should make a huge difference and help them a lot.

Does bitpay require it to be a US account? Or are international accounts accepted?

Sometimes there's a reason why those other chips are not commonly found in stores.
And why is that?

Because they don't taste very good.

Sorry for your loss.

I agree that those m&m's should be shaped differently or something. Just because it's too easy for things like this to happen. I don't anyone needs to force the company to do it, but that they should just choose to do it.

I wonder if that Mexican was related to the one I saw at McDonald's the other day, constantly scratching his balls with plastic gloves protecting his hands while he prepared my sandwich.

Normally I have to pay extra for that. Lucky.

I'd be more worried about non-governmental actors targeting Gavin than the inept US Gov.
