2541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be junk/trash after ban in 2 big countries on: June 09, 2019, 08:29:19 AM
Bitcoin will never be banned worldwide. I believe it is an experiment started by the banking elite, or possibly some disenchanted employees, and it is now being embraced by them as a major asset.
2542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gold forum on: June 09, 2019, 08:24:43 AM
The forum is very slow, and it may reflect the attitudes of many bankers and commodity traders. I've used it for years to check on copper movements, but I didn't ever visit the forum. I'll try to clear up a few myths, and see if I can promote Bitcoin.
2543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keiser: Bankers Can't Stop Bitcoin on: June 08, 2019, 05:32:58 PM
I used to like Max Keiser - well actually I thought Stacey was more interesting, and Max kept interrupting her. He has been around enough to know how the banking elite control things, but he often seems to be at odds with reality.

Bankers can't stop Bitcoin, but they can accumulate coins, and increase it's value to such an extent that it is unusable for daily transaction, especially if they continue to create volatility.
2544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gold forum on: June 08, 2019, 04:21:19 PM
I signed up to the forum, and I added a post to this thread
https://gold-forum.kitco.com/showthread.php?150735-value-of-Bitcoin-after-all-coins-have-been-mined

There is too much crap posted about Bitcoin. Let me know if you disagree with my comment.
2545  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Real ways to earn free cryptocurrency on: June 08, 2019, 11:19:58 AM
I'm using the Brave browser, ad you can earn even more if you are a content producer, or you allow them to display their own advertising links.
2546  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let's talk about Privacy on: June 08, 2019, 11:17:37 AM
I'm using the Brave browser, and that has an optional Tor window.

What I'm really looking forward to is the Huawei mobile with an open source OS and privacy browser. Trump seems to be pushing for the creation of this, and it will free me from Google control.
2547  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to know the purpose while this forum Bitcointalk was created as a newbie on: June 08, 2019, 10:46:26 AM
What are the purpose while this forum Bitcointalk was created" and why is it different from social media's were you can just send message to person you don't know and make friends with person you don't know easily??

Bitcoin talk is much more than the trivial sites like facebook and twitter. It does contain a few chat threads, and I started one here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5106333.0 - maybe it would be useful if a few more members created such threads for general interaction, and the building of relationships.
2548  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Will energy become a blockchain currency? on: June 08, 2019, 10:38:37 AM
It isn't just the electolysis, but the compression of the gas to create a storable product. I guess the credits would have to be created by the storage facility. The idea is an extension of the replacement of batteries with stored hydrogen to balance solar energy demands.

Another thought of mine is to site solar energy farms on barren land by the sea. This could be converted into hydrogen, and transported to energy hungry locations. That's not a blockchain application though.
2549  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Solar energy is the future. I want to save my planet!! What about you? on: June 08, 2019, 07:25:18 AM
Solar energy conversion has its place, but we are becoming obsessive about it. Clearing a field of all its greenery and turning it into a solar farm may not be the most productive use of a scarce resource ( fertile land). It wold be far better to site the solar farm on desert land close to the sea, and use the solar energy to create hydrogen to transport to energy hungry cities. Hydrogen is a clean and efficent power source.

So many people seem to think they are saving the world by installing a couple of solar panels, and buying an electric car. They don't look at the total picture, and cut down trees and hedges in their gardens, pump themselves full of antibiotics and other drugs, and spray weedkiller over the barren parking lots they have created where their gardens used to be. They then use petrol leaf blowers to drive surface detritus out into the road to be washed down the public drains. They throw their litter onto the streets and into the environment, where much of it finds its way into the rivers and seas.

The governments don't help either. They introduce taxes and restrictions to suck money from consumers, and to force them to replace good efficient products with fashionable alternatives. This seems to benefit the bankers who own the manufacturing units and the resource mines, rather than the environment. For example there are massive restrictions on emissions from personal transport, but no restrictions on civil or military aviation. The burnt and unburnt fuel from air transport is pumped directly into the upper atmosphere, and there is no attempt to reduce any of the pollutants in the emissions. In fact some fuel still contains lead, which is banned in most transport fuels.
2550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Security / Be Careful What & Where You Backup on: June 07, 2019, 11:52:01 AM
I don't use any cloud services. USB hard drives are so cheap now, and there are SD cards as well.
2551  Other / Meta / Is this about thread titles or subject text for posts on: June 07, 2019, 09:46:51 AM
I'm a bit confused here. Is the thread about thread titles that appear in the index? Only mods and the OP can edit those as far as I know. Or is it about the subject text for a post within the thread? I believe those can only be edited by the poster and mods, and can't be edited by the OP. The issue of headings in quotes brings the issue of the misuse of quotes to the fore again. Isn't it time that lazy posters, and those with reduced creativity stopped the misuse of quotes, and realised that most of the members here are intelligent, and have the ability to remember posts for a couple of minutes.
2552  Other / Meta / Reply titles are useful to help with searches on: June 07, 2019, 08:32:32 AM
I use this quite a lot, and I think it is really useful, and I wish more people would use the option. If you use it to search large threads, you can cut out a lot of the useless or spammy replies.
2553  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me !!!! Rank bitcointalk on: June 07, 2019, 08:27:50 AM
A year ago, I posted some guidelines for non-English posters who wanted to improve their posting quality. I posted it in my Fit to Tal English project, and you can view it here - https://fittotalk.com/english-talk/index.php?topic=27.0

I'm still offering merits for members who create good quality threads about Bitcoin, and its use in their country. The post needs to be original, and cannot contain any plagiarised content. It will also need to be pre-edited before posting on Bitcoin Talk, and this is because the project is designed to help members with their English. The content will also need to help improve the image and use of Bitcoin, so I'm afraid gambling is not a suitable topic for the project.
2554  Economy / Securities / Re: [idea] An altcoin investment service with a twist. on: June 07, 2019, 08:13:32 AM
The FCA and the SEC are both controlled by the banking elite. I host in the US, so any site I hosted needs to comply with SEC and FCA regulations, and it makes life easier if you try to follow their guidelines, especially if you have an international range of members. If fact, if you have an investment policy which is based on voting and suggestions by members, then I believe it does not have to have government approval. I think you are suggesting this structure anyway.

I don't think any fiat would be a good unit of valuation. In fact Bitcoin, despite its volatility, may be the best. Members can always buy a portion using fiat, and transfer that easily. You need to use Bitcoin to buy most of the alts. You will also need to decide on the wallet holder(s), and I would suggest that it needs to be a member with at least a green trust ranking of 20. Smiley

I'd be interested in participating in two types of club. One would be a simple investment club, and this could have individual investment, or a group holding. The other would be a more sophisticated club, and would include the use of tradable security tokens, and their value would be determined by the value of the club investments. I'd be happy to provide domains and hosting if members felt that this would be useful in either case.
2555  Economy / Securities / Re: [idea] An altcoin investment service with a twist. on: June 06, 2019, 01:33:36 PM
This was the sort of thing I was considering for the crypto coin tree. My idea was to invest in coins with potential, and a very low initial value. At the moment I'm collecting BitBlocks and Basic Attention Token for no investment, other than a bit of time. I didn't want to set stop loss or auto profit taking levels, as I thought it was better to make those decisions by community discussion. This will also allow a member to buy coins from the pool if he wants to speculate on his own account.

I wanted to create a security token to reflect a member's investment, and one would need to work out how to value a new coin that a member was adding to the pool. Maybe the current value of Bitcoin should be used as the yardstick. Everything needs to be based on community voting to avoid falling foul of the SEC as well. Another problem is the wallets and blockchain maintenance. It would need to be centralised, and that may introduce trust problems. Not just with issues of honesty, but safeguards against accidents.  For example, if I was in charge of the wallets, and I managed to kill myself in a motor accident, then there needs to be a mechanism for somebody else to take control.

It was all starting to get a bit complex, and that it why I put it on the back burner for a while.
2556  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NOT TIRED OF LEARNING TILL I GET TO UNDERSTAND THE FULL CONCEPT OF THE FORUM on: June 06, 2019, 09:16:18 AM
Please could you avoid capitalising titles. It is really annoying, and it messes up the thread index in my opinion. It is also considered by many as an indication of a low value spam thread.
2557  Other / Meta / Re: Your bitcointalk IP log for the past 30 days now available. on: June 06, 2019, 09:11:54 AM
I don't use a VPN, and I've only used Tor to log in here a couple of times. Sometimes I have to use Tor to view my own sites, and that records my access from places such as Moldavia. I don't have any of those entries in my log here. I use public WiFi quite a lot, and I also tether via my phone, and these may record IPs from various national hubs. Wigan and Scunthorpe are about 250 muiles from my current location.
2558  Other / Meta / Re: Your bitcointalk IP log for the past 30 days now available. on: June 06, 2019, 08:35:03 AM
My log is all over the place. Most entries are from unspecified UK locations, and others include Scunthorpe, Wigan, Aylesbury, London and a variety of other UK locations. The closest to my actual location is a couple of entries for Portsmouth, I haven't been to any of the mentioned locations for many years.
2559  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Charity Fund on: June 05, 2019, 07:25:09 AM
I do a lot of charitable work, but I do it directly where I know it will make a difference. I no longer support registered charities, as most of the money seems to go to pay high salaries, property purchases and misdirected aid. There are also political issues such as the British RSPCA and the "charitable humanitarian aid" that Washington tried to impose on Venezuela.
