2541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Estrada vs Chocolatito WBC, WBA & Ring Magazine Unification Fight on: March 01, 2021, 09:32:53 AM
Estrada seems to be the one in advantage in terms of reach by about 5cm, but Chocolatito is the more experienced fighter so that could be a factor. I checked this stats website to compare their last stats and Chocolatito seems to be on the advantage as most of the percentage seems to favor but the stats were their first fight and Chocolatito won the fight in a unanimous decision so in this next fight, anything could go wrong or right.
2542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EBL - Esports Balkan League on: March 01, 2021, 08:42:44 AM
Balkan League but UK and other countries that are not even in the Balkan states are participating. I haven't heard of this teams, are they new teams formed for this tournament or were they formed a long time ago. The leading one seems to be a good team based on a quick Google search that I did, it seems that betting on them would be a definite win.
2543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: March 01, 2021, 07:56:17 AM
I prefer not to gamble my earnings and just withdraw them or save them for 2 weeks at least because I can wait 2 weeks to get my earnings in btc converted to fiat to save some fees.
Good thing that you do not spend your money on gambling, you are more likely to be financially stable than those who use their signature campaign earnings to gamble. Might I advise you to use your earnings to save to invest in gambling sites because I find that there is less risk there even though there are days where there is loss.
2544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders - May 8 on: March 01, 2021, 07:10:21 AM
This fight got me hyped to be honest. We're going to be able to see who the best is. I expect Billy to really turn it up versus Canelo. In my view, Billy is at his peak as a fighter from 160-168 after Canelo. Him and fury are somewhat the same, in the sense that they fight depending on the stature of their opponents.
This will be a serious bout because Saunders is undefeated although he is a little rusty because he hasn't fight for awhile and with some titles on the line, I think that Saunders will be fighting in his best condition against Alvarez who has defeated Yildirim. Definitely experience will be at play here but in my opinion, the spectacle will depend on how good Saunders is and how determined he is to win that belt. I would place my bet on Alvarez because he is definitely the favorite of this bout but if the Saunders' odds are a little bit attractive, I might go for it.
2545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The History Of Crypto Gambling on: March 01, 2021, 06:30:26 AM
Since 2011, the crypto gambling website slowly growing and become bigger. And from 2013 until now, we see that the gambling business in the crypto grows fast, and people now do not have to worry if they want to gamble using crypto. Crypto gambling site helps people use their money in crypto while they can hide from the other, including their government if in their country. Deny or not, a crypto gambling website helps crypto grow like today, and it will still grow in the future since the site has many options for coins to be used for playing gambling. That can help the gamblers to use coins they like to gamble.
The people could have used their crypto in making more money instead of wasting it on gambling hoping to hit the big win but we all know that the only time that it will happen is when the Goddess of Luck smiles upon you or me. I was once an addict in gambling and good thing that I realized that overtime the money that I spent and the profit that I get will only go down, I agree that crypto gambling will grow. I wouldn't really say they help people, it is more of exploiting people of their crypto.
2546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Trust In-House Casino Competition? (Wager/Multiplier/Raffle) on: March 01, 2021, 05:47:06 AM
There isn't technically anything stopping them from making fakes in their in-house raffles and such but I think that they wouldn't risk the house with such petty tricks, I think that we can trust the house doing this kind of thing if we were to look at their reputation which lies in between bad and good, if they lie near bad reputation then you know that you can't trust them but if they are on the opposite then they might be able to pull off this kind of petty tricks because they have a rich clientele and they want to make sure that they can trick them.
2547  Other / Off-topic / Re: Corruption and Sports on: March 01, 2021, 05:10:16 AM
been old enough to understand politics in my country Philippines which is one of the worse countries run by corrupt officials but there seem to have no TV reports about sports corruption. i missed it probably.

the one thing that is often reported is the athletes not being supported by the government and then eventually other countries supported these athletes. we could have a new chess grandmaster Wesly So but he moved to US for the lack of support in the Philippines but US supported him.
I can vouch for this, the problem is not the politicians anymore, we have a lot of corrupt officials but we still haven't learn a thing or two, the real problem is the people in our country doesn't have the integrity and critical thinking to elect the best official in the position. This is one of my frustrations about the Philippines, they do not take care of their athletes and politicians that came from sports doesn't even have the inkling to support the athletes when they should be the prime supporters because they knew the struggle of not being supported. The problem with people that is involved in match fixing is that they do not have the integrity and they tend to twist the reality that sports should be anyone's game, the only way that a match fixing can be solved is when players have the integrity not to participate in that scheme but given that match fixing is a serious business which means that players do not have any choice but to participate because they know that it is a serious business and they can be threatened.
2548  Economy / Economics / Re: Tech companies no longer "friends" on: February 28, 2021, 01:39:14 AM
Them Tech companies buying bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as their reserved asset can be a way for them to start competing. They want to get more bitcoin/cryptocurrency than the other Tech company which means that they can grow the company's networth. They can also use blockchain to integrate in their own e-commerce websites.
2549  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think about borrowing against your bitcoin? on: February 28, 2021, 12:52:02 AM
Borrowing is not really bad because at a point borrowing really solve some certain issues now, borrowing above your income can be seen as a wrong altitudes from my views but I don't really know for others because here in community their is a particular board for lending which involves cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, so basically you borrow and be paying gradually with a Bitcoin, but that should not be above you monthly or weekly Bitcoin achieved.
Really? You can say that to the people that are drowning in debt and can't pay. Borrowing anything means that you will do anything to pay it back and there are a lot of things someone can do because they want to pay back what they borrowed. I do agree that you have a certain point where you are allowed to borrow but don't you think that it will be practiced in real scenario, most people who are in debt typically spiral out of control and borrow more money than they can pay back.
2550  Other / Meta / Re: Should the Scam Accusations & Reputation sections be more restricted/moderated? on: February 27, 2021, 11:31:48 AM
Blaming newbies for not following the Scam format is not a valid excuse to make the board more restricted, there are users that have the due diligence to remind them to follow the Scam format. I think that it is not their fault that they have fallen for a flagged scam because they are newbies which means that they never knew of this forum before they got scammed or they do not know that they have to check the other party first in this forum before doing any transactions. If we were to make it more restricted/moderated, that would mean that we are disregarding the people that are genuine scam victims because they do not have quality in their post.
2551  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [International Donate] Building rice farms in the Philippines Funding goal 0.2B on: February 27, 2021, 10:40:58 AM

Farmers don't have to buy lands to farm.
How about renting lands? Or the farmers could organize and move into forest or "no man's land" to farm.
I sometimes wonder why farmers don't take that risk to cut cost. They could even build temporary homes there to live close to the farms.
Renting the lands causes them to not get any profits because their landlords will be demanding large amount of money to pay for their lease on the land. This is evident in my country with a lot of farmers doing farm works in someone's land just to have something to eat for the day. They can't afford the risk because most farmers are illiterate and most people that try to help them are either using them for someone's agenda or they are being exploited, and if they take the risk that means that they are laying their families life on the line, a lot of farmers have been killed because they want some changes in their way of life.
2552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin being branded as a 'Meme' by Mainstream Media Manipulators on: February 27, 2021, 09:52:45 AM
It is not "psychological market manipulation" it is just their attempt at downplaying the power of bitcoin and hope that some people may fall for the story and eventually the adoption of bitcoin slows down. They are basically trying to buy time this way before they become obsolete. Sooner or later they will start their own centralized shitcoin out of desperation (some of them have already started) then after that failed they start adopting bitcoin to try and stay afloat.
So far, they are effective at doing that, we know how dumb some Americans are, they only rely on what is on the news, they never care for the truth. As long as their favorite news correspondent says so, they will believe anything they say. The only way to destroy this kind of psychological manipulation in the people is when the people are critically thinking and verify everything they hear and learn before believing so. I don't think that media will become obsolete, they will stay here for a long time, what they are trying to prevent is not their own but their customer base, they need the good for ears stories rather than what is really happening.
2553  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: hardware wallet on: February 27, 2021, 09:19:40 AM
The only thing that I can think of that needs to be improved in a hardware wallet is the durability of the wallet itself, it needs to be able to withstand shock, fall, water and other elements. Maybe a manual override for when you forgot your password for access which can only be used if the number of attempts to enter the password reached the limit.
2554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a Lifeboat on: February 27, 2021, 08:35:48 AM
Thread title almost completely fits how I see Bitcoin : when the tsunami will hit ( I already hear the thunders) only the travelers on the new Noah's Ark will be saved.
That is a pretty ambitious analogy for bitcoin, I have to agree but we have understand that bitcoin still has its shortcomings that may leave a bad taste for some. I wouldn't really compare it to a lifeboat because lifeboats are small and I think the more appropriate is bitcoin is an island in a world of water, fiat are boats that will eventually sink and bitcoin is the only safe haven that we don't have to worry that it will sink.
2555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Faketoshi's new attempt to attack bitcoin on: February 27, 2021, 07:58:43 AM
I haven't heard of Craig Wright for a while. He always makes a scene whenever cryptocurrency is gaining a lot of attention. He should learn to stop claiming he is Satoshi, no one is taking him seriously and it is sometimes really annoying. I just hope that the real satoshi cones out and slaps this man on his face.
On other reality, CSW might have been the real satoshi and the people just doesn't believe him. But in this reality, it is clear that CSW just wants to stay relevant because bitcoin is getting the attention of prominent people so he has to fit in as the crazy one so they can work with him. I doubt that the real satoshi is going to come out any time soon, it's been a decade since he was gone and I think that we just have to accept that there won't be any revelation on satoshi's identity.
2556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The good side of banning btc in Nigeria on: February 27, 2021, 07:19:38 AM
Given how unpopular the Nigerian government is right now, I am sure that this ban will only cause more and more Nigerians to use Bitcoin.
That was mentioned in OP, the popularity of bitcoin in Nigeria will only rise because they outright ban it which means the media attention would be on them. But besides the fact that there is a good side in banning bitcoin in Nigeria, I don't think that it will be enough to outweigh the negatives for now, banning means that doing any activities that involve bitcoin might be incriminating which is bad for an average person that uses bitcoin because criminal record AFAIK will be detrimental when they want to get a job. Maybe in the coming months, the positives can outweigh but right now, I don't think that.
2557  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc dump today and yesterday on: February 27, 2021, 06:39:36 AM
This is normal, you cannot expect it to rise up. It will go down also, people are booking profits now. Bitcoin needs to go through correction if you want it to go up again and creat a new ATH. There is nothing to panic, I am also expecting a major correction. Bitcoin needs to find a strong price support. So far it is getting it at 46k.
It is actually a good thing that the prices are going down, everyone can buy more bitcoin at an affordable prices. I agree that it needs to find a strong support but I don't think that we shouldn't worry about it, companies are getting in good terms with bitcoin and this dump won't last forever, the prices will spring back up higher than ever before, we just don't know when will it happen.
2558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Circle of Competence on: February 27, 2021, 05:59:51 AM
I can say that Bitcoin is in my Circle of Competence, I love Bitcoin and I know exactly what I want, but unfortunately this does not apply to many people who have heard of Bitcoin recently, they only think that Bitcoin can make them rich and they don't know anything else about Bitcoin What does it really mean And what is the real benefit of Bitcoin so I think that such people will fail.
But that would mean that you know the in-depth theories and applications that bitcoin can be used if bitcoin is in your circle of competence. In my opinion, having a subject in your circle of competence is a very difficult thing to achieve, you know how those people who take masters and doctorate on their chosen major, that one can be considered circle of competence, just because you traded with bitcoin for a long time doesn't mean that you already know everything there is to know about it, maybe if you are one of the bitcoin core developer then I think you can consider bitcoin as part of your circle.
2559  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to sell BTC: $80K, $100K or $150K? on: February 27, 2021, 05:22:28 AM
Nobody will know what is the top price until we arrive there, and the only time that we will know that it is the top price is not when we reached it but when we passed through it and the upcoming prices of the year will not be able to reach that point. It also depends when you want to sell your bitcoin, it might not be at the highest price because shit happens and you need immediate money to catch all the expenses, you will feel it when you want to sell your bitcoin.
2560  Economy / Speculation / Re: $2.5 million BITCOIN... What would that do? on: February 26, 2021, 10:06:54 AM
As time goes and as the US Dollar inflates and inflates and lowers in value through the years, the 'millionaire' sort of title will slowly but surely reach irrelevancy to the point that being a 'millionaire' isn't that much of a big deal anymore. When will that time be? Idunno. Maybe sometime in this decade or maybe sometime in our grandchildren's lives, but it's not really an 'if', it's just 'when'.
The title of millionaire will only be irrelevant when the dollar enters the hyperinflation like what happened to Zimbabwe and Post-War Germany so when it happens, I think that it will be for a long time and I don't think that a war will break out anytime soon because countries knows the cost of going to war and I think that they are finding ways to win over others by not firing a single shot. USD is still a strong currency and given the extent of the tentacles of their foreign policy, I think that many governments will not let this kind of thing from happening, a lot of countries have USD as their reserve currency. 2.5 USD per bitcoin is still unreachable at this moment but I think that the only time that we will reach that is when either bitcoin becomes so scarce that you can put any price on it or as mentioned before, a hyperinflation.
