Do you still consider yourself a beginner, even though by your own admission you started trading in 2021?

I just started trading not that long now and I don't know why people doesn't always talk about Spot trading and how less risky it can be when compared to Future trading. I found more pleasure in spot trading that had given me peace of mind without bothering myself of the fear of losing trades. Although spot trading is not a get rich quick type of trading because I don't have to leverage, making it very slow to make good profits but best for me.

What I can give you as advice is not to invest more than you are ready to lose, and not to invest in something you don't fully understand. There is a lot of useful content on the forum, and it is best to start reading sticky topics in this board that can help you as a beginner, and it is not bad to visit the Meta board as well. After that, simply start from the top of the forum and scroll down in search of new content, in the end you will surely find something that interests you.

What you certainly won't find is some kind of formula for success in life, because no one should or can make decisions for you.

What do you think?

I know that you are the alt account of a recently banned plagiarist and that you have not read the forum rules, which means that every new account you create will be banned.

Why do you even have to convince anyone to invest in anything?
~snip~

Unless someone is a financial advisor, I really don't see why anyone would mess with other people's personal finances. I know that people usually have good intentions because they want to help someone to profit from investing in Bitcoin, but if you want to help someone, then first of all try to explain all the advantages and risks, and then leave the final decision to the person whose money is at stake.

The bottom line is that you don't go around talking to people about Bitcoin, because not only can you be accused of promoting scam/ponzi schemes (because some people have that attitude), but you can put yourself and your loved ones in danger - you talk about Bitcoin, which means that you probably own it.

Meta had big plans to connect the whole world within an unique payment system, if Twitter tries to do something similar, I have no doubt the same regulators will come after Elon Musk to stop him short and not allowing social networks to compete against banks.  Roll Eyes

It may seem that these two men and their companies have something in common, but Mr. Mars is a much bigger fox and manipulator than Meta-Man, who underestimated the system. On the other hand, a man who receives billions from the budget as support for his green-space initiatives certainly has many more friends in influential positions and a greater chance to push his project through. The thing is, how to find the perfect balance between making the project successful, and on the other hand, not being in competition with the USD.

We'll just wait and see. For now, it seems Twitter is losing more than earning new users since Elon took over. There are more who left Twitter than the ones who are attracted to it and signed up. So I guess first things first. Before making Twitter the biggest financial institution, how about restoring its image and reputation first? It is noticeable how popular Twitter users are slowly leaving the platform. It's such a waste to lose the likes of Andreas Antonopoulos, for example. Twitter has lost a wealth, a lot of brilliant minds.

Everyone has the right to choose whether to use this or that online platform, and people who for some reason do not agree with the way of management and the new policy of the company have already clearly shown this by deleting their user accounts. It is true that many famous people have left that platform, but also that they have already found alternatives - the world will not stop if you are no longer on Twitter.
2565  Economy / Speculation / Re: Maybe it's time for BTC to take off and reach the $100K on: March 09, 2023, 10:49:13 AM
Investors do not demand Bitcoin atm because they do not have the money to invest. I think we need to recover from the economical damages created by the Russia and Ukraine war and the covid pandemic which could take a couple of years. When we have recovered economically from these events we can then think about a ATH but I do not know if that will be $100k or if we will need to wait more then 5 years for that to happen.

There is enough money that is always waiting for the right opportunity, but it seems that even the big investors have learned something from the past and are waiting for another moment. Few decide to invest for the long term, and most will wait for the next big bull run to start, which will most likely not happen before the next halving.

Bitcoin is still considered a risky investment, and only one example from my country where the state issued bonds for ordinary citizens and institutions that literally sold out in a few days in a total amount of approximately 1.8 billion EUR, of which ordinary people bought for as much as 1.3 billions of EUR. This is just proof that the average person still believes in anything that is backed by the state, from anything that is labeled as decentralized.

Paul Krugman is a legend.

What makes him a legend? Was he right about the Internet or is it perhaps "legendarily stupid" to give such a man the Nobel Prize for economics? The fact is that he and people like him always stand firmly by the system, even when it seems that they are somehow opposing it. The only question is who recruited him and whose payroll he is on. Someone who receives a Nobel Prize does not necessarily have to be smart or a genius, because those who call themselves "flat earthers" also have as their leader a man who also won a Nobel Prize for something.

People who persistently advocate the idea that Bitcoin is a means to launder money, buy drugs, avoid paying taxes or even hire assassins will never be legends in my world. Neither do those who claim that firewood is "the next Bitcoin".
2567  Economy / Speculation / Re: Maybe it's time for BTC to take off and reach the $100K on: March 08, 2023, 05:01:03 PM
All this wait, same price for months, sounds like the calm before the storm. Maybe it's time for BTC to take off and reach the $100K. Just saying. This price is a joke for BTC's potential. Of course all we can do is hope. But it makes me wonder why it's not happening yet. Right now BTC is cheap as peanuts. Luckily 1 BTC = 1 BTC.

Why should it happen right now? In fact, there is no meaningful reason to expect any major bull run this year, and perhaps even in the first half of next year. In order for the price to go up, investors are needed, and given that interest rates are still going up, it seems that we will still have to wait for serious investors.

Bitcoin is neither cheap nor expensive, its price is as dictated by the market, and considering that the P-man from the FED spoke yesterday and was quite negative in his statements, it is not surprising that the red color prevails these days.

On his interview last year, he said that he slowly shifted his focus from crypto to AI, and stated that blockchain based twitter isn't possible.

Slow would be the wrong word, because he was never "pro-crypto", and even less pro-Bitcoin in the way some believed. The man took advantage of the moment to probably make a lot of money in the way that he was once an ordinary crypto shill, and considering that he was already under investigation for his abuse of position and authority regarding the shares of his companies, there is a more than clear methodology by which he achieves his goals.

He'll probably be happy when he's sitting in his office on Mars and controlling people via some kind of AI linked to chips that will be implanted in their brains. His vision of the world is not only crazy, but also a bit dangerous, of course for us mere mortals who are just consumables for him and similar to him.

Stop with this nonsense - no one will give you $50 000 no matter what you promise, especially when you offer even 1000% profit after one year. If you have a worthwhile project, go to a bank and ask for a loan, or ask mom and dad to lend you money Roll Eyes
2570  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you 'Will' your bitcoin to your children? on: March 08, 2023, 03:34:31 PM
If you want to leave something like that to each of your five children, then make 5 wallets and "fill" each one with as much BTC as you want. When I say "wallets", I mean creating seeds, which is much easier than extracting private keys from public addresses and manually writing them down, which can easily lead to errors. On the other hand, if you want to print private keys, you run the risk that your data will be compromised, just like if you use the camera on your smartphone.

When you have 5 wallet seeds, write them down on paper and store them in an envelope with the name of each child and an explanation of how to use them. How you store those envelopes is up to you, but I personally wouldn't entrust something like that to a lawyer or someone I don't trust completely.
2571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think that there will be a new technology to recover lost of Bitcoin on: March 08, 2023, 03:00:38 PM
Technology moves forward unstoppably and we can only guess what will be possible in 20 or even 50 years, and I'm sure that a lot will change in the future. The computers and smartphones we use today will probably be so outdated that they will be exhibited in museums, and all these changes will certainly have a certain impact on Bitcoin as well.

I'm not an expert in cryptography and I can fully understand what some people are trying to do, but the article is interesting and even contains several links from our forum. Thanks @vroom for sharing.

In this blog post, we tell a tale of how we discovered a novel attack against ECDSA and how we applied it to datasets we found in the wild, including the Bitcoin and Ethereum networks. Although we didn’t recover Satoshi’s private key (we’d be throwing a party instead of writing this blog post), we could see evidence that someone had previously attacked vulnerable wallets with a different exploit and drained them. We cover our journey, findings, and the rabbit holes we explored. We also provide an academic paper with the details of the attack and open-source code implementing it, so people building software and products using ECDSA can ensure they do not have this vulnerability in their systems.
2572  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Coinomi wallet hacked, all funds stolen on: March 08, 2023, 11:56:18 AM
I keep some assets in Electrum Windows and it's still safe, as long as users can keep themselves safe and use premium antivirus protection.

I probably have some coins in old Electrum wallets, but regardless of caution and premium AV protection and the fact that I do not use the computer for any risky activities, I would still not recommend anyone who has a choice to keep more than what they are ready to lose in any hot wallet. We are aware of some dangers such as clipboard malware or fake wallets, but the bad guys who try to steal our coins never sleep and we can never know when they will find some vulnerability in Windows OS or Electrum itself.

Traditional institutions, such as banks, are now incorporating stablecoins. This demonstrates the enormous potential of the technology at hand. Is there any limit to the wonders that lie ahead? The future holds many unknowns.

Everything that's happening has nothing to do with Bitcoin, because it's just something that could be called digital centralization, and CBDC is nothing more than that - it's more about the fact that even the little privacy that exists today will disappear. The technology you are talking about really has great potential, but in the wrong hands it is nothing more than a tool for even greater mass control.

But today, with good marketing, you can sell anything, even the idea that CBDCs are some kind of government version of Bitcoin, and if millions of people still believe that the earth is a flat plate, then I have no doubt that hundreds of millions will be delighted when their governments offer them tokens backed by central banks.

More users commented in this topic, did not read OP at all. If they spent 10 seconds to click and read, they knew it is not a careless story of mine.
They did not read your post too!

Sometimes it happens to everyone that they misunderstand something, but unfortunately there are a lot of members who don't read anything more than the title, which in the end results in posts that don't make much sense. If you stay active on the forum for long enough, you will notice a lot of illogic yourself, but we can always hope that our actions will change some things for the better.

It's as if he was declaring that it will become the next reserved currency. We are all aware that there is a heavy requirements to become a reserve currency. I may not be an expert when it comes to financial aspects on the global economy, but I know for sure that China is one of the candidates to be the center of economy and make yuan a reserved currency. In fact China isn't the only one to qualify as far as I can remember.

Maybe in some big global adjustment that will happen in 50 or 100 years, but in order for the Chinese to succeed in imposing their national currency, changes would have to take place that seem unrealistic from today's perspective. Countries like the US, UK, EU or Canada have business relations with China because it provides them with cheap labor and logistics, but politically they do not agree with Chinese politics, which is still full of communist doctrines.

I completely agree with you here, because in my beginnings some ten years ago I had a completely different philosophy and I told people that it would be wise to invest a few hundred $ in Bitcoin (and the price of 1 BTC was only a few hundred $), but no one didn't take it too seriously. In the last 5-6 years, things have changed, not only because most people say that BTC is too expensive for them, but also because it is not wise to expose yourself in any connection with Bitcoin in public.

In addition, older people (mostly) are not interested in new technologies, and I personally let them enjoy their old days, because realistically, they have earned it by working continuously for 40 years.

Around 97% of the respondents in the survey believe that crypto payments will have a major role in faster payments within the next three years. Over half of the surveyed leaders expect most merchants to adopt crypto payments within this period.

Although Bitcoin is mentioned here, it is obvious that the main focus is on something else - namely altcoins and CBDC, which leads to the conclusion that Bitcoin is just bait, and the average reader should swallow something completely different if they believe the story. If 97% of respondents have a positive opinion that "crypto" will play a major role in fast payment systems in the next three years, should we even doubt who they asked that question to?

If you asked that question to the technologically aware Chinese, what would they say? Well, a few years ago, an article appeared about an allegedly influential crypto miner from China who stated the following :

Chandler Guo was a pioneer in cryptocurrency, the digital currencies that can be created and used independently of national central banks and governments.
In 2014 he set up an operation to produce one of those currencies, Bitcoin, in a secret location in western China.
---
But now he sees a new force emerging - a payment system created by the Chinese state and known as Digital Currency Electronic Payment (DCEP). It's really a digital version of China's official currency, the yuan, and Mr Guo feels DCEP will become the dominant global currency. "One day everyone in the world will be using DCEP," he says.
2578  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginners - Keep your rooms clean, keep your backups ready to use & bring away on: March 07, 2023, 11:16:49 AM
You have just labeled yourself as a careless person in this forum. Your mom put your backup phrase into a garbage can, so it was probably on the floor which is why she was able to sweep it and throw it with the garbage.

Read the OP a little better, because he just showed an example of another member, it's not his story.

Regarding the topic of backups, there are hundreds of similar threads discussing how to achieve the best security and reduce risk to a minimum, but there is no single method that can be considered absolutely safe. One backup is generally a bad idea, but multiple backups in the same location also doesn't make much sense.

Unfortunately, most people cannot afford to keep their backups in different locations, so you have to be innovative and creative. Whatever you do about it, don't talk about it to friends and acquaintances, but also to family members who don't know how to keep their mouths shut.
2579  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the motto of bitcoin? on: March 07, 2023, 10:55:22 AM
Although some have already mentioned it, I think that the saying "Not your keys, not your coins" has perhaps the greatest weight and importance when it comes to Bitcoin. Many people don't really understand what this is about, because in order to understand they still need to know some basics - and if they knew what that means, then there would be less Bitcoin in custodial wallets, and that would mean less risk in the event that they are hacked in at any moment.

Some research says that only a few of the largest CEXs have millions of BTC in their possession, which means that the vast majority have a completely wrong attitude when it comes to the risk and security of their digital assets.
2580  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Value till 2033? on: March 07, 2023, 10:25:47 AM

Price impacts for Bitcoin is huge as you see after next 3 more halvings, effects from halvings would be smaller than 2024 halving. If in 2020 bull run, Bitcoin reached to nearly $70,000, in 2032 I believe it will not be less than $150,000.

As you say, it's all just speculation - although in 10 years I personally expect the price to be a little higher than $150k. We know that in the short past Bitcoin has always had a big bull run after the halving, and that the price growth obviously slows down as the numbers increase - so it would somehow be realistic to expect the next ATH to be at least x2, which means somewhere around $140k. If we were to follow that analogy, then after the halving in 2028, even with only half of that amount, the price would be $210k.

Of course we are talking about ATH, and if the price corrections continue as they have been, maybe in 10 years the stable price will really be around $150k. Those who will be here will no doubt quote our posts and show whether we were good or bad speculators.
