I'm still betting on Croatia anyway, and I think this match has good chances of extra time  Cheesy

It's hard to get away from the impression that Croatia will play again in a way that they will try to go in extra time or even take penalty kicks, but it is much safer for me to bet that both teams will score, and that there will be at least 3 goals in the game. That offer is paid around 2.55 at my local bookmaker.

According to announcements coming from the Croatian team, head coach Dalic is preparing an offensive line-up that should include Luka Ivanusec (Dinamo ZG), and it is mentioned that Domagoj Vida could play instead of Erlic, although I hope that he will not play from the beginning. Vida is a real lion, but the years have done their thing and he's not as fast as he used to be.

Possible line-up of Croatia :

Code:
Livaković - Juranović (Stanišić), Vida, Šutalo, Perišić - Modrić, Brozović, Kovačić - Pašalić, Kramarić, Ivanušec.
1742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Nations League final four ⚽ on: June 12, 2023, 03:39:25 PM
The Netherlands - Croatia will be a match that I think is about 50-50, but Croatia is missing a strong Croatian defender who managed to play a great World Cup in Qatar.

Unfortunately, Croatia will have to play without Josko Gvardiol, who failed to heal the injury despite all efforts. His place will be filled by Martin Erlic, who at this point seems to be the only logical choice.

This is definitely bad news for Croatia because the defense will lose perhaps its most important player with the absence of Gvardiol.
1743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Still Gamble? on: June 12, 2023, 03:03:57 PM
There's no big mystery, people gamble for fun or because they think it's how they can make money. The former are not a problem because they do it occasionally, and thus do not significantly affect their finances and the lives of their families. Those who think they can profit from the game and still do not know how to control themselves are a problem for themselves and society, because every addiction creates abnormalities.

I can't say how to deal with the problem of gambling, but I think that the one who enables gambling should take more responsibility and recognize the addict and prevent him from gambling, and also offer him free psychological help. Ignoring a problem always just creates an even bigger problem, and then it's very difficult to help people.
1744  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lost 2.03 BTC via bitcoinpaperwallet.com Am I wasting my time trying to recover? on: June 12, 2023, 01:57:45 PM
You said it right but it's better to have it on a hardware wallet when you've got around 2+ BTC as that's a lot of money already considering the price of bitcoin.
~snip~

Old habits die hard, but we need to get used to the fact that not everything is as we have been told for years when it comes to hardware wallets. Of course, I refer to the situation with Ledger, but the other popular HW manufacturer has some strange business decisions in their company.

In other words, we need to start dealing with security in the right way and not trust unconditionally anyone, especially large companies that seem to be susceptible to outside influences.
1745  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: new Electrum phishing site on: June 12, 2023, 01:33:19 PM
Reporting to Google is waste of time from my experience but it's a good practice. Reporting to the hosting company works better especially I found Namecheap always takes such reports seriously.

Unfortunately, I have to agree that this is true, although a few years ago, it worked well and in 2-3 days the reported site was blocked. I don't know what happened, but Google has obviously changed something in its policy towards phishing reports, or it just has too many reports, or they fired those who dealt with it.

On the other hand, I have never had success with reports to hosting companies, but I definitely think that they should do a lot more to combat phishing. Obviously, they don't care too much either, because it is important to charge for the service, and if someone reports abuse, they still profited with the fact that they no longer have to provide the service.
1746  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: new Electrum phishing site on: June 11, 2023, 02:59:01 PM
And to use uBlock Origin extension on your browser. In my experience, changing your search engine into a more privacy oriented one could help as well in avoiding these phishing sites appearing on your browser.

Adblockers are useful because they are primarily blocking the ads that appear at the top of the search, which is the first protection line for those who do not pay attention to details. If you go to a phishing location stated in the OP with uBlock it will not have any difference, you will still be able to visit that site.

What can have a preventive effect is certainly to report phishing site to Google (it can be made directly from some browsers - a report of the deceptive site) or to a hosting company. The only problem with phishing is that such pages appear in large numbers, and that means when you stop one, at least five new ones pop up.
1747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Include The Sport Spogomi In Their Platform on: June 11, 2023, 02:17:09 PM
To me, this activity does not seem like a sport but a kind of activity that aims to remove garbage from public surfaces, but in a way to do so in a competitive spirit. I don't see how such a "sport" could get involved in something that offers online casinos. As far as I can see from the rules, the garbage is collected in the designated area, and I do not think it would be difficult to manipulate the amount of garbage and the collection way.

Maybe this "sport" is now honest, but if people start betting on who will collect as much garbage as possible, then we will have fixed games and manipulations like in all other sports.
1748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden administration will kill Bitcoin! Says Ron DeSantis. on: June 11, 2023, 01:28:12 PM
~snip~
Is Ron DeSantis right about his comments or wrong?

He is completely right to comment on the way he wants it because he has entered the fight for the president, and in this fight they do not choose a way or means. It is fascinating to me that people ask themselves such questions at all, because why is it important who is the president, if we know that the US policies produce characters in recent decades that would be more appropriate for something completely different than to be the president.

The current US president is one big joke, the previous one was a belligerent fanatic, and what to say about one that reward Nobel prize to himself...

Plus, they say that DeSantis is not one who wears pants in the family, if you understand me. I wonder what he was thinking about at that moment Roll Eyes

1749  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lost 2.03 BTC via bitcoinpaperwallet.com Am I wasting my time trying to recover? on: June 11, 2023, 10:58:21 AM
If you have time and you are a person who does not give up easily, then I suggest that you report the whole matter to the police, and it would be good if you try to determine where your BTC ended up (if at all possible) in order to maybe be able to detect the person behind everything. I'm not saying that the chances of you succeeding are high, but if that scammer has scammed a lot of people and if a large number of those people do the same as you, it is possible that someone will be interested in trying to solve the case.

On the other hand, if you don't do anything, you've admitted defeat and all that will only be an expensive lesson for the future. Whoever is behind it surely hopes that you will do the latter.
1750  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is ahead is very dangerous on: June 11, 2023, 10:41:00 AM
With each new day, scammers get more and more opportunities to profit from human ignorance and greed, and at the moment I don't see any quick and easy way to prevent them from doing so. For all those who can't resist all those "lucrative offers" I can only advise to be extremely careful, and I would also agree with @Upgrade00 that the best way to protect yourself is to not deal with such things.

The Internet is something that offers countless possibilities, but in addition to the good things, it also has its bad side, which is full of lies and deceptions that lead to where no one wants to end up. Unfortunately, cryptocurrencies (and by that I mean altcoins and NTF) are a perfect tool for all those who have bad intentions, and there are a lot of them online.
1751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Croatian League - Hrvatska nogometna liga 2022./2023. on: June 10, 2023, 02:41:32 PM
I must admit that so far I have not seen big football names coming to Dinamo this summer, but that is why it seems that the key and best players of Dinamo could leave the club this summer.
~snip~

And when did you see that Dinamo ZG was bringing big football names? Their way of doing business is to buy relatively unknown players for relatively little money, and then if they are lucky, they sell them for at least ten times the price in a few years. What is the "problem" now is that there is no longer a chief operative who had a good nose for work, and regardless of the reputation they have, the young forces of Dinamo are far from being successful businessmen.

In addition, internal calculations are still ongoing in the club, and as I hear, several other employees were recently fired because they were identified as players of the former boss.

What do you think of your friends to take advantage of situations like this, is it now the right time to buy a few coins?

If you're referring to all those altcoins that are sinking, then I don't see how it would be wise to invest in something that has the possibility of disappearing from most of the main CEX - which means that it will be worth (probably) even less than it is the case today. However, if someone wants to take the risk and thinks that the situation will turn in their favor, let them gamble, because altcoins have always been more of a gamble than a serious investment.

In particular, some tokens that have been registered as securities by SEC have been devastated

You ask a question, and at the same time you gave an answer - Bitcoin is not a security for the SEC, and thus it does not go into the same category as all those altcoins you mention. For those who refuse to accept reality all these years, it seems that they will accept it the hard way.

1754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gensler can destroy the U.S. crypto industry but he can’t kill crypto on: June 10, 2023, 01:29:49 PM
And also take note that I've read somewhere that Gensler has only less than 2 years left in his position(chairman of the U.S. SEC). He'll be out of the picture in no time; which is kinda bullish unless someone worse replaces him.

In my opinion, it is wrong to think that Gensler is doing something on his own, he is just an ordinary executor of orders that come from positions much more powerful than his. Accordingly, I do not expect the official US policy to change on this issue, regardless of who replaces him in that position. What is evident from everything that is happening is that the lobbyists of the "crypto industry" in the US are quite weak, and when you are weak then everyone attacks you, classic bullying of the strong against the weak.

Well he can't stop Bitcoin in America because nobody is arguing that Bitcoin is a security.
~snip~

This is actually something positive, at least for those who are not involved in altcoins. If we are to be realistic, most of these projects are completely meaningless and it is only a matter of time before those who invest in them experience financial loss. Of course, CEX and the owners of these projects don't want to give up what brings them profit and that's why they will fight with their hands and feet and in whatever way they know to save their gold altcoins mines.
1755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which platform is safe to store Bitcoin and can’t be hacked ? on: June 10, 2023, 10:37:20 AM
Hardware Wallet is the safest device to store your crypto because it can be considered an air-gapped device. Electrum is also safe if you knew exactly how to protect your private key/seed phrase.
~snip~

There are HW that are really airgapped and for communication with online wallets they use QR codes or SD cards, but most such devices cannot be called by that name because sooner or later they have to be connected online, whether it is firmware or coin app updates. A regular old laptop turned into an airgapped device is safer than any HW you can buy today, assuming you do everything right.

Electrum as a hot wallet can be safe, but I would never recommend that such wallets be used by those who have a low level of security on their devices, whether it is personal computers or smartphones. Any crack, torrent or something similar that is downloaded online to such a computer may contain malware/keylogger or RAT (remote access trojan), and then the attacker has full access to everything on such a computer.
1756  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Recovery - Send your (encrypted) recovery phrase to 3rd parties entities on: June 10, 2023, 10:22:59 AM
However, CZ criticized them as well Cheesy

He should keep his mouth shut and worry about how he will save his company, and after all, it is hypocritical of him to criticize any HW at all, because what he really wants is for everyone to use his CEX as a storage wallet. In fact, there is no difference between what Pascal thinks about Ledger HW users and what CZ thinks about the majority of those who own cryptocurrencies.

Binance chief Changpeng "CZ" Zhao has suggested users are more likely to lose crypto by holding it in a cold wallet than by putting it on a centralized exchange.
“For most people, for 99% of people today, asking them to hold crypto on their own, they will end up losing it,” he said in a Twitter Space discussion held on Wednesday.

How do I get over the countless failures? I’ve been chasing the $1,000,000 dream for years.

It's obvious that you can't control yourself and that you don't have the right strategy to achieve your goal - although I doubt that even $1 million would be something that would satisfy you or prevent you from doing the same stupid thing again. If you can't help yourself from making the same mistake, at least don't bet everything on one match, but divide the amount you have into equal parts and place bets on different matches.
1758  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Recovery - Send your (encrypted) recovery phrase to 3rd parties entities on: June 09, 2023, 02:35:50 PM

It's a shame that Ledger brainwashed some of their userbase in thinking that this service actually is more of a help to them than a risk (and how it goes against with everything they stand for).

I think that this process (brainwashing) would not be suitable for the user base you mention, because you cannot brainwash someone who does not understand the basics, and I will dare to say that at least 80% of all those who own Bitcoin or some altcoins are not even aware of what Bitcoin is (in a slightly more detailed sense), let alone what it means to be your own bank.

Consequently, if someone offers a service that is diametrically opposed to what they primarily offered, only a person without a bit of common sense will accept it.
1759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which platform is safe to store Bitcoin and can’t be hacked ? on: June 09, 2023, 02:11:22 PM
I echo the suggestion of others. A hardware wallet is much better.
~snip~

We used to think so, but I think that after everything that has happened and what is currently happening with some hardware wallets, we should no longer treat them in the same way as before. The only way we can be somewhat sure that someone will not hack us is to create an airgapped wallet, and after that to protect the backup by saving it in the safest possible place, noting that we should always have one additional backup that would be stored in some alternative location. Everything else is a risk, and the only difference is how big that risk is.

Are you serious about following this forum as a guest? I don't understand, no one follows a forum for 3 years and doesn't register. I know you are not being honest with that. But I'm fine

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, even though 3 years seems like a long time, I also visited this forum as a guest for more than 1 year before registering. Some people simply don't need to participate in discussions, some don't have time, and some people's English in writing is quite bad. I don't see what anyone would gain by not being honest about it, although maybe even if the OP had registered 3 years ago and wasn't active, he would be in the same place he is today.
