In my country, bureaucracy is the enemy when you want to apply to trade your own stocks, the paperwork to get an account in a bank and to have your tax ID and other boring papers which discourages a lot of people to get in. Good thing that in my country, there isn't a lot of regulations in cryptocurrency for now which is good for many people. Good thing that I don't have to resort to converting my bitcoin to fiat just to pay for my needs and wants because most of my bitcoin are in hodl. It is also beneficial for traders that are shorting the prices and those who want to get in at a lower price although the shorting is debatable, if you do it cleanly then there is no problem. You could have paid more to make the transaction faster, the network congestion is just too big of a problem so I think that you should just be patient when it comes to this kind of thing, unless you really need the money, I think that you will be alright.
