Interesting issue, I am glad you resolved it. What block was causing issue - I wonder if it is the bootstrap that needs replacement? Anyone else experience anything of this sort?
Thanks, very odd indeed. I was having trouble being stuck at block 1587390. Then having issues with a "too many files open" error. All seems to be ok now, but I'm watching closely to make sure. That is a block from back in early August and no one else has reported the same problem so I doubt it is an issue with the bootstrap... We will see if anyone else has an issue otherwise assume it is an anomaly that is now resolved. |

Stopped the update prior to the last block that caused it to crash. Then restarted and everything was fine.
Currently now synced and staking.

So the target is 250000 . If this is not met , the Ico is fail?
Not necesarily. There are many scenarios where it will be possible for us to still proceed, even if we get less than 250 000 CBX. We really want the Quintessence network to become reality, we feel the current 2.0 tokens are unsatisfactory so we want to combine the good aspects of each one with CBX's PoSP into one perfect network. Main thing is we need to have the required resources as we will be paying people fulltime in order to fulfill our promise; we cannot do this ambitious project on our spare time as is the custom for Cryptos 1.0. As the Spark coin is not created yet, we are open to your suggestions. Is there something you would like to see, something I should change - everything is up for discussion! People perhaps want less coin created? Now is a very good time to discuss things that will be hard to change afterwards. Hi vonpass I propose some suggestions to attract more people towards quintessence. 1Low inflation is a very good thing in the long term but is not dreaming the investor. Only create 750 million and offer rates very elevate the two first years between 10% and 20% (30% to 100% with POSP). It will attract speculators and the number of spark will always 1 billion in two years. When the rate will be 1% income, many people will have realized the quality quintessance. 2Giving example of Dapps for the project to be more concrete for some person. A concept Dapps can attract people who are not speculators. I have an idea of Dapps that would attract many people. I speak to you in private message. 3All those who have staked had a fictitious entry . Which will win sparks without having, just securing the network.(ditto POW system without the unnecessary calculation) This would be discover the qualities of POSP system to many people. These are very good suggestions for consideration. Looking forward to hearing about your brainstorming session. |

I can't download CBX Bootstrap file to speed up syncing. Writes "The page isn't found". It isn't lucky me.
My server that host the bootstrap is down. We are working on an alternative to upload it on Github and avoid this problem in future. We have putted our best scientist monkey on this task, so it should be done fast as far as we have enough bananas for them. Why does the whitepaper have no technical details? Can you please consider adding CBX - Crypto Bullion? It is the first coin to invent and implement PoSP - proof of stake participation (with released white paper). The team has also announced a crypto 2.0 project (Quintessence) that will start an ICO on Sept 12th. The ICO will be funded with CBX and CBX will also tie into the 2.0 network. As far as understanding interest, I can ask the same of you. What I am saying is your CBX whales can monopolize the opportunity to stake and earn that %, and then in the next hour, stake again with the earlier amount & stake included in the next block, which this process will continue increasing their ownership at a faster degree. Your Whales, decrease the # of times the nonwhales can stake, so even thru they eventually stake, it is less because their compounding effect was blocked the majority of the time. As far as DDOS, anyone can be attacked , but PoSP gives a Direct Financial Incentive to do so. With Normal PoS, a DDOS attack is irrelevant, because you will make up the difference when you stake so there is no direct financial incentive because you receive the stake in proportion to your coins, not in proportion to the amount of available coins staking like PoSP. So if you are want to know which is superior algo, then standard PoS would be superior to PoSP.  Now your speaking in circles and ignoring what I am telling you. I am not going to continue repeating myself. As far as standard PoS is concerned, you are entitled to your own opinion but the facts are not in your favor. I have addressed the problems with standard PoS in the PoSP white paper, each of which is addressed and improved upon with PoSP's design. Feel free to read it and learn. |

It goes by input size Kiklo, not by address size. Every address can have many inputs.
The point made was that he staked more than once per hour, multiplied thru out the day, he will block those with less per block from staking, while his amount will continue to grow. There is nothing wrong with CBX being for Elites or Whales, but the pretense that it is not is irritating.  You still have not answered what measures will be taken once the ddos starts. FYI: If you can't comprehend what I am saying you should study the effects of compound interest. Are you making a joke or just not able to understand how interest works? A interest percentage will be larger in accordance to the size of ones capital. To make it easy: 10% of 100 is 10; 10% of 1000 is 100. With regard to DDoS, are you trying to say large PoW pools can't be DDos'ed to allow other miners an advantage? Please explain what algo you are representing as superior and WHY... |
