Security inefficiency is not an excuse to hold someone's BTCD for 48 hours. It's already quite established crypto. Other major exchanges don't have problems with withdrawals. They process them immediately

I was giving a list of reasons it could be held for 48 hours. Seeing as how you received them it was likely for one of those reasons. Other exchanges rampantly are hacked and bled dry and/or wander off with your cash/coins. Cryptsy is the oldest altcoin exchange (next to BTC-e) and still going strong. Though we would like to avoid some of these issues to protect funds we occasionally have users that experience delays.

Ok, I will keep using and see.
Thanks for response.

How do you add a picture to your profile and how do you change your profile name?

I believe you have to be a certain tier to have that. The most you post, the higher your tier becomes.

You can't add the picture or change it anymore. This feature has been removed from this forum about a year ago after DDoS attack.

Xircom, I have just hought.

In the future, if BTCD devs won't agree on sharing their SuperNet system, maybe you could offer them to share one of your unique features, you are going to develop as an exchange.

Could be a good idea, but we really need to see if Supernet really is as good as claimed. Got some info that its not working as good as said. We have to see it in action  Wink

Ok, lets see.

I bet you will be able to come up with something better anyway :-)

267  Other / Archival / BITTREX - STRANGE, DETRIMENTAL BOT SYSTEM PATTERNS (PRICE MANIPULATION?) on: September 29, 2014, 02:22:00 PM
This is just my personal observation about Bittrex strange/suspicious bot system.

I have noticed what seems tot be deliberate bot pattern there.

I have checked many new born or emerging cryptocurrencies which use Bittrex as the main traiding exchange (sometimes they have some 2nd on or 3rd one like Cryptsy or Poloniex but the trade volume there is lower than on Bittrex).

It appears that Bittrex bots tend to lower prices down to hover around certain BTC prices, ranging between

0.001, 0.0001, 0.00001, 0.000001, 0.0000001 BTC

up to

0.0014, 0.00014, 0.000014, 0.0000014, 0.00000014 BTC etc. (if the price is a bit larger than the decimation of 0.1 then it seems to be, because there is some interest in buying this certain cryptocurrency).

It seems self evident that prices very seldom reach more than these. Like for example, 0.00015, 0.000017, 0.0000016, 0.00000018 etc.
When this happens, it seems that it is becasue of sudden, large amount of cryptocoin being purchased within short period of time. Then Bittrex bots bring the price down again.

They use these bots deliberately, to generate the smallest price offers to compete with other exchanges.

http://bitinfocharts.com/markets/

Just some of the examples:

NAUT         0.00012   BTC (Main exchange Bittrex)
MMXIV       0.014       BTC (Main exchange Bittrex)
CANN         0.000012  BTC (Main exchange Bittrex)
ROOT         0.00014    BTC (Main exchange Bittrex)
CLOAK        0.00015    BTC (Price on Bittrex)
XC             0.0014     BTC  (Main exchange Bittrex)
BTM           0.0014     BTC  (Price on Bittrex)
VRC           0.00013    BTC (Main exchange Bittrex)
START       0.00011    BTC (Main exchange Bittrex)
BTCD         0.012       BTC  (Price on Bittrex)
BC            0.00015     BTC (Main exchange Bittrex)
VOOT        0.0000011  BTC (Main exchange Bittrex)
TRUST       0.0000015 BTC  (Main exchange Bittrex)

And many more...

In 80-90% of cases Bittrex offerrs the lowest prices in the market from all major exchanges out there.
I recommend abandoning this exchange and move to other exchanges like Poloniex, BTC-E and even Bitter...
That's for the sake of your cryptos. Unless you are a speculant and spend thousands of BTC buying cheap cryptos on Bittrex and selling on another...

And, I wouldn't be surprised if it is Bittrex who is responsible for buying all these cheap cryptos.
Then they will dump them on another exchange with higher price.
I wouldn't be, also surprised if that another exchange with higher prices isn't owned by of guys from Bittrex (or their friends)... lol
That's almost a perfect trickstery (if not jsut a pure scam?) :-)

For example, they buy 16 million LTCD for 160 BTC (0.00001 BTC/LTCD) on Bittrex and sell this 16 million LTCD on other exchange (they own or have deal with) for 192 BTC (0.000012 BTC/LTCD)... :-)

I have got an impression that the person who already bought/mined over 15.5 million LTCD (top of richlist) may also be a major crypto speculant waiting for other major exchanges to start dealing LTCD with higher prices so he/she/they can dump LTCD for higher prices and earn a buck.
Wouldnt you do the same if you had that mining-capacity ? I would  Smiley
But we can guess from now until end of days, as long as he/she holds and buying up, no problem. Dumping is not an issue any more, too many BTC worth in his wallet.

Buys 16 million LTCD for 160 BTC (0.00001 BTC/LTCD) and sells this 16 million on other exchange for 192 BTC (0.000012 BTC/LTCD)?

Well, certianly it is a smart thing to do, if you can afford it, but unfortunately it is detrimental to all the rest 99% of miners who cannot afford buying/mining it :-)

I don't remember if I already suggested this editing but also the main info on the website but it would sound grammatically better if it was:

"This cryptocurrency has had an impressive hashrate since it's original launch, and also it's name pays homage to Bitcoin, Litecoin, Darkcoin, and BitcoinDark. There is quite a lot of room for improvement, as well as for feature additions that could greatly help this blockchain to survive and thrive in today's crypto-economy. The goal is to launch a fast, anonymous coin, based on Litecoin."

I'm not trying to be grammar nazi. Just a bit of help.

I tried to change as little as I can in original content ;-)

Haven't I just written few times exactly the same?
That they tried to cheat laws of mathematics by using fraudalent bot system and false entries (ala fractional banking but with no limit of deposit multiplication).

Basically, you repeated twice what I already said...

You might consider expressing yourself more clearly then. Smiley But then we are all on the same page, and we're all jolly good friends!

I'm certainly jolly dumb if I got tricked myself into dealing with Cryptsy :-)
276  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING ABOUT CRYPTSY on: September 28, 2014, 09:29:36 PM
They can't just make up coins out of thin air like Fed, because it isn't possible due to how the cryptocurrencies are designed. They may, although false bot sells/buys in their trade.

Oh yes they can. Remember MtGox? Everyone was trading btc that didn't exist.

Yes, because they scammed with bot system.
That's why it all collapsed quickly. They thought they would cheat mathematical laws of nature.

You might be confusing terms here. Bitcoin is 'guarded' by the 'laws of mathematics', however coins on exchanges are most often nothing but database entries, and can be altered by an administrator of an exchange.

received some coins around 0.75 btc within 2 minutes. No problems with crypts so far

Try to withdraw 100 BTC

It could be a sign of cryptsy running with fractional reserves, or it could be that they need to get it from a cold wallet, and that might take some time..

Yes we are aware of hybrid.
I guessed so :-)

It was more of a question to the rest of community :-)

The bots gone and we can now make our way to 0.005btc

Wow, you think itll go as high as .005btc for one LTCD? that's like a 160million market cap.

SolarCoin has almost got $Billion market cap and is 2nd after BTC. It doesn't mean anything :-)
Daily trade volume is important ;-)
