261  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You lose more when you over trade on: December 21, 2023, 07:50:46 PM
YouTube channels created the idea that you can make a full-time living from trading,
I couldn't agree more on this, social media is so powerful that in seeds in an idea to people, it's called 'influence' from 'influencers' on the internet.

and that trading has become a  full time job where you wake up in the morning, make 10 successful trades, and make $5 to $50 in each successful trade. And so you repeat it every day until you become rich,
It's achieavable actually, make successful trades but the problem is with the consistency. Becoming rich with trading is so much of an impossibility, I don't think it will make you rich, although you can win a trade of millions of dollars but come on that's not how richest are made.

which, if it happens, means that you have an amount of big amounts or it is something that rarely happens and is not even available to everyone, so trading requires patience  in the long term until you see some results achieved.
Long term trading, either it will make you big gains or become millionaire because you foresight the future  Huh it's impossible to not lose a trade over years of trading.
262  Economy / Economics / Re: Business failure among small-scale entrepreneurs on: December 21, 2023, 07:04:50 PM
mismanagement of funds and wrong expectations are two things that i think often kill businesses.
I want to add the 'not setting the right goal - short and long term goal. I started to think of opening a small business, and it has been running to my mind ever since. What's the goal of my business? what if something is going off? what's the plan A? B? C? what is the realistic roadmap for my business? I've been overthinking lately that frights me in starting.

when a business mismanages their money and tends to burn their money on things that are not really important, they have dug their own grave. because managing money is related to business sustainability and when companies mismanage their money it will threaten their operational activities and reduce the trust of their investors.
This is why management shouldn't be handled by any of our relatives, unless and until they have a degree or experience on SUCCESS management of business. Even the business owners, if you don't know how to find someone who can manage for you.

and when companies cannot predict market expectations when they have poured a lot of money into the plan, it means they are counting the time to go bankrupt. capturing what potential customers expect is the most important thing for a business, so that when they launch a product or service it will immediately be captured by potential customers which can improve their brand in the market.
Basically, it is the crippling problem of every business, expectations should be set in monthly or quarterly, we cannot expect something to happen in a year from the first day of the business.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner needs your advices in gambling. on: December 21, 2023, 05:45:33 PM
Everybody has a story to tell when it comes to gambling because it has had a way to affect or increase our financial status in one way or the other.Every beginner who wants to begin their gambling journey must know some good things and some bad things about gambling,in that way, they won't suffer loss the way most People suffered, that is why it is always good to follow topics that is related to gambling to know when to gamble and when not to.

A beginner should always know that gambling is risky, and when putting your money into it,you must be able to make up your mind that the money might return or might not return, there is no guarantee of a steady income, because the game is all about you losing or gaining.

You are right on this point; a gambler should know the casino he is entering if he even thinks of gambling. It's hard to walk into a casino and, at the end, suddenly regret why you gambled. If you are a newbie in this industry, don't be in a hurry to immediately put a large amount of money into a casino.
We all want to win. This is also the drive of newbies entering the world of gambling, though they might say that they are just here to have fun and entertain themselves with all the types of game in casino. I personally wouldn't dive into something that I know less, it's like suicide or walking in a dark, I barely make a very vague decision for myself. So my only advice to beginners is to read a lot of stories, learn how to play particular games, and limit themselves in terms of playing time and amount of money they are going to spend. basically that's all the newbies need of when starting, just like us when we all started.

It's good to start with a small amount and, of course, feel or observe the casino you will enter here in the crypto gambling business.
yeah, better if there's a demo which most of online casinos have.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: December 21, 2023, 03:19:19 PM
It happened to some people. Hopefully, they will be able to get out of that problem.

Take that experience as a lesson and after solving that problem, don't even try it again, or else the loop will just be repeated.

While others are having a good result taking a loan and got a good win in gambling in return, that luck won't happened to everyone.
Chances are that most of those that try to take a loan to gamble will lose it very quickly, since it is obvious that they have a problem just for the fact that they asked a loan for an activity that we should only practice in the case we have the money to spare, and once they lose that money it will be difficult for them to not ask for another loan, until they get so much debt that paying it will take years or even a decade, so it is better to avoid that path at all costs as someone could easily ruin their lives if they decided to take it.
I'm not sure if we are really talking about chances of losing when you use funds from a loan, I don't think we are able to calculate that. But for someone who doesn't have money and still want to gamble my advice is just to sleep, why on earth would you want to gamble if you don't have the means? besides taking a loan on my perspective is more of personal, so if nothing's come up to you urgently that may need money then don't take it!

On any gambler's belief, yeah maybe, taking a loan to gamble is just another way of adding up your losses. In short you'll lose with a loan.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: December 17, 2023, 06:00:35 PM
If gambling have been good on you, then why the thought coming for quiting, most of us don't want to receive the consequence of the wrongs we've made about the way we have been gambling, if we had been gambling that responsible enough, there's no how we can come about with the thought of quiting from it when we know it's a source of joy to us, but when the way we appear with gambling is not an ideal or a welcoming one, we have most of the things we don't want in gambling and these are the reasons why we may also want to quit.

In the end, people who don't have good self-control in gambling will try to stop all types of gambling activities, there are quite a lot of people who are trapped in gambling, they think gambling is the best way to double their money but in reality, it won't have happened, being a responsible gambler has its own challenges at the beginning, there are various kinds of trials that must be passed, but if you are serious about doing it, those who like to gamble will never become gambling addicts (becoming a gambling addict is a nightmare for every gambler).
Everything has its cons, but in gambling it's more deeper than anyone of us who may not suffer from it experience. I agree, traps in gambling are very chaotic especially when you don't know that you are in there, unconcious of what is happening to yourself. We've all seen and heard it, testimonies from addicted gamblers who are able to ruin their own live because of gambling, very addicted to chances of winning of what could be a generational wealth to their family. Perhaps that's true, gambling is a nightmare for every gambler. I'm a gambler myself, and I think that;s true.
266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: December 17, 2023, 03:57:16 PM
I have to say that those who are gambling at work are people who cant manage their time well. Working time should be used wisely, to focus on the work only but I wont deny that I have done it before because I was so bored with what I do in my office. I realize that it is a mistake and I do not do it again till now to avoid something bad with my career. Better to manage our gambling time, gamble when we have free time only, time when we have nothing to do at all. Time is priceless especially when it comes with our family, job, or relationship.

You can only gamble in your workplace if you have the time to do so, if you work where task is demanding, then you won't even have the spare time to for any other activities during work hours. Although it's morally not proper to use work time for gambling, because you can be so concentrated on the game and neglect your duty.
Yeah we can actually multi task and do gamble during working hours, but it is proven that doing things outside your work will cause so much distraction although you have time to gamble. I mean generally it is not advisable to gamble while at work, some might say that they can do it during their break but I can literally say that even during breaktime it is considered to be on your working hours thus separating your mind from the tasks you have.

It's better to gamble on our free time, so we can relax better and enjoy the maximum fun of gambling. Besides if your boss catches you gambling during work hours, it could lead to warning, suspension or even sack, so if your work allows you to seat all day and it makes you to be bored, then you can gamble discreetly, but at your own risk.
Yeah I agree, at the end of the day gambling is always there to entertain us. I don't wanna be hypocrite but I do it sometimes but only on sports betting, I watch games where I bet but not necessarily putting bets while on duty.
267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Type of gambling and Intelligence on: December 15, 2023, 07:20:18 PM
Does the type of game you play at a casino or sports you bet on show an individual's level of intelligence or how smart a person is?
Blackjack, Poker, slots, roulette, baccarat, sports betting, horse racing, betting on sociopolitical events, keno, etc.

I don't think so. Anybody can play any game but that doesn't mean everyone is intelligent isn't it.
Anyone may win literally everything, people who won in lottery, which is another type of gambling, doesn't calculate anything or based on the numbers from the past draw, it is just pure number bets and literally doesn't mean anything, not even with their lives. I also play the lottery, and I always pick number 17 because I think it's a lucky number.

There are players who are pretty good at a game and regularly play that game but we can only identify them when we see them playing.
Besides that intelligence alone is not enough. We also need luck in order to win a game.
We cannot base someone's intelligence on gambling, perhaps it is game. But on sports betting, analysis can mean so much to win it, especially on team sports like NBA and football.
268  Economy / Economics / Re: Food for thought on: December 15, 2023, 06:24:51 PM
For those working for government or an entity, try  to  start a small business and grow it gradually while still doing your 9am- 5pm job.
Yeah been thinking about this for quite a while now, but bills keep coming every month! HAHA!

We might not feel the importance of it until we have been lay off from the job.
I have a question for those working for an entity or government, if you are being sacked today, what will be your faith? Will you still be financially strong, can your other sources of income keeps you going or you will be devastated by the loss of your job.
My company is a US based organization, recently they have been laying off employees to protect their business, I mean I get it, if I'm the leader of an organization whose in a recession country I would have done the same, I think that's pretty common and the most likely to do thing if you own or run a business. If I were laid off, I would end up being a bum in the street, like no kidding, this is my main source of income about 90% of my income, I don't know if I can survive 6 months if they laid me off. So the business thing is on my plan, I need time to make it happen.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 15, 2023, 05:14:37 PM
Working as a casino dealer is another option Tongue

In other words, the only guaranteed method to make money from a gambling outlet is to be a part of the casino. Previously I told about investing in the casino's bankroll, but there is also the option of being a worker in the casino. Its an office job and not related to gambling directly.
I think what OP meant is being a professional gambler as a full time job, though this is not wrong, if you really want to be making money out of gambling then yes, being a part of the house would make you easy money like just being a dealer or on technical stuff. But what I think on OPs question is that it is very subjective, because it could be a profession, we could watch professional poker players battling for a million bucks in a tournament. But if he meant like a in-household gambling, then it's probably hard to make it as full time job like earning in daily basis.

Be the casino and you will get a good earning, but most of us can only dream of being one. Grin
Not a dream! you can start low, have you watched the movie Molly's game? If not you should watch it if you are dreaming to become one!
270  Economy / Services / Re: Stake.com Signature Campaign l Sr Members Only! on: December 14, 2023, 12:32:42 PM
Hello, there is no error; the minimum number of posts is 25, and the maximum number of payments is 25. The information is correct.
So if you make less than 25, you'll have your payment halved, and if you make 25 or more, you'll get the full 25.
Got it. Thanks!
271  Economy / Services / Re: Stake.com Signature Campaign l Sr Members Only! on: December 12, 2023, 09:04:24 PM
Hey @carollzinha - I just noticed what could be a "mistake" from the campaign rules. It is said that we must make at least 25 posts per week, but the post limit is also 25. I would appreciate your effort clarifying this matter. Thanks.

RULES
♦️ Must make at least 25 quality posts per week

PAYMENT INFORMATION
♦️ The payment is a fix $1.50 per post & limited to 25 posts/week
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BOOK: 'The Bitcoin History Book 2008-2024' Progress Report (UPDATE 04/12/2023) on: December 12, 2023, 08:53:14 PM
I don't care if it feels or looks like futile attempt or something that is quite beneficial, I do not care about the results and how much OP makes or how much it spreads and all that. I care that someone out there wanted to do something like this, and that's a good thing, it's a thing that benefits the whole crypto world and we should be considering that as good, it's a good thing and it should be important.
I really appreciate the initiative as well. Correct me if i'm wrong, he is the first person to introduced this one, this is an authentic idea from him and we all need to show support not only by donating money but also pursuing him to push this through. For the OP, there are lots of genius people here that could add some pieces of information for this project. Make sure it'll be known by money people, and we would like to see people recognizing our forum.

I remember that there were few books that got some attention, I mean there are A LOT of books in bitcoin world regarding crypto but a few of them got super high attention, and yet I still think that they do get old with time, so we should be careful what we write, and OP has done a wonderful job regarding that issue.
I may have heard about bitcoin books, but wasn't able to read one. I'm quite curious what content it will be all about for this book aside from basic information.
273  Economy / Economics / Re: 'Doomsday glacier,' is holding on 'by its fingernails,' scientists say on: December 12, 2023, 07:02:01 PM

The issue of climate change is an urgent and global issue, and there are many steps we as a society can take to reduce its impact. Tokens and cryptocurrencies I think have the potential to play an important role in the future sustainable energy consumption is likely to see a lot of projects emerge in this regard, made possible by the low-cost and peer-to-peer aspects of blockchain technology in general.

environmentalists say that crypto’s blockchain technology actually gives way more to greenhouse gas emissions the system of mining of cryptocurrency requires so much energy in order to function effectively which is said to be harmful for the environment
Just my thought after reading OPs post. The process of mining crypto emits more energy which causes more harm than good to environment. But taking OPs question whether there will be role to this solution to global dilemma is just absurd. The application of cryptocurrencies, although vast, cannot be applied on very specific things like this, thus making more senseless argument if we continue. I'll believe if the OP proposes one solution.

however smaller blockchains have found their way into reducing the greenhouse gases they emit it is not an impossible thought that cryptocurrencies develop into a more eco-friendly system
More and more networks will be built and develop, this means that more energy will soon be generated. I think it's a no.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 12, 2023, 06:32:06 PM
I don't know why I don't agree with your idea, the duration of time in gambling does not always determine the size or size of the potential loss.
Definitely. The longevity doesn't mean that much in gambling, it's always either you win or lose on overall time you've sent with gambling. Contrary to popular belief that gamblers who have gambled for a very long time tends to have more losses than winnings, it is not true thus this doesn't have so much data to support.

You can spend more time at the gambling place by placing bets on the smallest numbers. Gamblers who want to have fun at gambling places usually have a high level of awareness in managing financial management, they will play carefully so that their money doesn't run out quickly.
Yeah, just like me, I don't spend hours and hours on gambling, I'm betting on sports, E-sports, play table games but it won't take me an hour or two before I quit because I just do it to entertainment myself. But I can say that I've lost than I won to those bets/money.

Limiting time when gambling is different from limiting gambling time, you can limit gambling time to save costs that might otherwise be spent, but when gambling you can control your emotions so you can play longer.
It really depends what goal you are trying to achieve, if your goal is to profit then so be it, play longer but to entertain yourself I think it will only require another boredom from yourself.
275  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Correction is possible in bitcoin price? After 40,000$ on: December 12, 2023, 06:09:28 PM
Bitcoin prices have been on the rise for the past two to three weeks, with no significant correction observed during this period. Currently, the bitcoin price hovers around $39,300. The surge in bitcoin prices can be attributed to the news of ETF approval circulating in the market.

However, what is your opinion? Do you anticipate a potential drop in the bitcoin price, revisiting $30,000 after reaching $40,000, or do you believe it will continue its upward trajectory towards $50,000?

We can't predict the numbers and at which price will the price reverse but what we can certainly tell is that after a pump in the price there is a period of consolidation or a reversal.
I'm pretty sure there will be a market consolidation we can know this by seeing the graph itself, it has always happened in the past and every trader know that this will happen, but the thing is the market is very unpredictable, and you cannot see where the price would land or soar. Market reversal is most unlikely to happen to the market given the fact that the halving is getting near and we always know how market behaves when halving is taking place in a year.

So as we know that bitcoin price has been pumping in the last few weeks, we can say that the price will enter a consolidation zone or might reverse.
I'm positive that the market will consolidate for quite some time, them pump until the halving, then a year after the halving the market will slow go down. We've all seen this!
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logic of some gamblers against math on: December 12, 2023, 05:37:11 PM
-snip-
Then you're going on the wrong side.

You're not supposed to raise the bet on loss, always on heater, never on losing. People to scared raise the bet after winning but they're raise the best after lose ? need to change the mindset.
For some people, like new to gambling the heater is a streak, so basically betting on a heater means you're putting a bet to continue a streak. It's like the NBA teams, why would you bet on 3-16 Spurs over 16-3 Philadelphia? Technically the math that you should think of this is the chances of how many win did it have, or basically the probability of repeating the same pattern.

But sometimes countering a heater may be a good idea since there will be a point when there a shift, or a pause on that streak but then again putting a bet on a heater after that pause or shift is the most preferable to do by most of gamblers, not until there is a turn over.
277  Economy / Economics / Re: How come both the "gas" and "fee" prices shoot up without ETH and BTC move? on: December 12, 2023, 05:04:46 PM
Either you accept paying transaction fees to increase speed, or you accept the current state. I don't think the congestion is just some increased activity on the platform that brings this issue to attention.
Hmm isn't a "congestion" can be a network state due to high volumes of transactions? therefore congestion is really the challenge to any network that increases it's network activity? I can agree that you could have just choose between paying high transaction fee or accept the current network state, speeding up your transaction or wait til ages.

I think this problem will still remain for a few more years.

- Ethereum, I think the current altcoin scene has many alternatives that you can completely rest assured about such as EVM, L2,... some new L2 ecosystems such as OP, ARB,... are all brings great usage experiences. So don't be too forced to use Etherum.
Yeah, don't force yourself with using the ethereum network, coz these days there are so much more you can use to avoid these problems.
278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: December 12, 2023, 04:24:39 PM
~snip~
are you sure about that? have you ever been to a land-based casino? and can you be sure that it's all paid for? not like what @nullama said, because he said there will be free food and drinks at land-based casinos.

I also think like this anyway, there is no way they give free food and drinks just like that, even if it is true there will definitely be requirements to get free food and drinks, because it is likely that they will also make this as more profit from people who come to land-based casinos.

I've been in a few casinos around the world in which they absolutely give you free snacks and drinks.

Of course it is not a buffet, but if you stay there playing for some time, you will be able to get some free food and drinks.

Again, it's a courtesy, so it's just a bit, not something that you could simply go and grab anything you want.

The people at the casino basically have to see that you have been playing and then they offer you something.
I've had this before they offered a snack and drink coz I've been playing there for like 6 hours and like a guard in the area ask me if I want to grab some. A few tip if you if you're a newbie in a casino and you want to get this perk, try to interact more with the people in the casino guard, people, teller, cashier and they would notice you even in short time that you are playing there, surely you'll get some snacks  Cool

But I think it's pretty funny how it is a coincidence that most of the time they would ask you to get a snack or a drink when you are losing  Grin
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 12, 2023, 01:57:35 PM
Detroit Pistons - Indiana Pacers - Indiana Pacers (-4.5)
Orlando Magic - Cleveland Cavaliers - Orlando Magic (-1.5)
Charlotte Hornets - Miami Heat - Miami Heat (-1.5)
Atlanta Hawks - Denver Nuggets - Denver Nuggets (-1.5)
Memphis Grizzlies - Dallas Mavericks - Dallas Mavericks (-1.5)

First pick.
Boston Celtics - Cleveland Cavaliers - Boston Celtics (-8.5) I didn't max it out to -10.5 although I am not in doubt that the Celtics will win this one. Just taking the safer pick.
Second pick.
Chicago Bulls - Denver Nuggets - Denver Nuggets (-5.5) Well, both are playing back-to-back but Nuggets has the firepower to win. Also, the win from their first road game could give a lingering confidence to the team. Their bench will probably be playing with lots of energy.
Third pick.
Los Angeles Clippers - Sacramento Kings - Los Angeles Clippers (-1.5) This team even if they play back-to-back has no problem. They have so many stars that can heat up anytime and contribute.

Good luck everyone.
Boston x Cleveland - It's hard to do a huge handicap to Boston here, Cleveland played incredibly strong these past few weeks. Though I'm going to take Celtics on this one, but I'll put myself safer than -8.5, maybe -3.5 or -4.5, I'll try to bet on the live game so the odds are realistic.

Chicago x Denver - I'm too concerned with Jamal's performance since he came back, it seems like it was not the play I used to see him play with Denver also Nikola's stats from the past 3 games are getting low. Chicago on the otherhand made a close call with Bucks earlier today, DeRozan putting 41 points on the board. I'll probably have Chicago +5.5

Clippers x Sacramento - I'll give this for Sacramento all day.
280  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FOMO of bull market on: December 11, 2023, 07:54:03 PM
If you know, you know.

If you already in this place for a very long time, you'll know things like that could happen with high chances. This time, it isn't 2014 or 2015 where there are less money injected in Crypto it is more complicated now. Institutions getting their bags and bags of crypto made me think I'm just a fish to in the market, and so I changed my market approach. Well probably that's a lesson for you to learn in trading, don't FOMO make yourself secured by keeping your leverages slow so you got a lot of room to pull out your funds. Stop loss wouldn't handle the dip that happened last night.
