It's much better to have these things controlled, like alcohol, so that minors don't get access to it.

By having alcohol legal, and controlled, it is much more difficult to find alcohol at times where shops are closed, or access to minors, because since it's legal, the illegal market is very small, so it's not effective.

If alcohol was illegal, anyone would be able to buy it 24/7, and those people selling it don't check the age of their customers

Sure, but it kinda also depend on the thing itself.

Things like heroin for example, I think should be illegal, because only one time you try could make you super addicted.

But things like marijuana are actually less problematic than tobacco or alcohol, so it's a bit strange that it is illegal in some places.

That's why the OP made the title above, none other than because to provide a place where we can get a lot of advice from several people who maybe even one of us has experienced it and shared his experience here about the dangers and consequences if you gamble in the middle of the activity you are doing, especially if it is your main work activity that has been supporting you with the salary you get. I think that depends on the nature of work you are actually doing and I am very sure that some workers do gamble vigorously at their work place and they do this maybe in their break hours . Your nature of work will make it certain on the previlledge you have to actually gamble because some type of doesn't require such practices at all. I beg to disagree on your last statement, Mostly those notorious gambler who preferrably do gambling during working hours are those people who's been in the gambling industry for a long time.
